Cannot find discoverer portlet in portlet repository (9iAS rel2)

I would like to use discoverer portlet in my portal page. I have already install 9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 + 9iAS discoverer patch (9.0.2.5.3) and also patch 9iDS Discoverer to the same version (all products on Windows 2000). Then register the discoverer provider, it was successfully. But when I tried to add discoverer portlet from my portal page, I cannot find discoverer portlet provider in the repository. This happen without any errors. Any suggestion ?

Try to refresh your Discoverer Portlet Provider. It should do the trick.

In portlet project, to navigate between pages, you should not use the URL property to link to a page. Instead, portlets use navigation via action handling. You use the Page Navigation editor to set up links to pages; that is, the navigation editor sets the action property.
Here is an example to hyperlink ans button to open a new page:
# From within the IDE, create a new portlet project. This action creates the project and one page, PortletPage1.jsp.
# Create a second portlet page, called PortletPage2.jsp, for the project.
# Drop a Hyperlink component onto the first portlet page, PortletPage1. (You can drop the Hyperlink on the page in the Design window or on the PortletPage1 node in the Outline window.) Change the Hyperlink's text property to Next Page.

Discoverer reports in portlet

Hi All!
Will anyone help me to solve the following problem?
There are several Discoverer reports based on database records. It's necessary to put them in a single portlet. I've tried to create a portlet provider and URL portlet, but there is the requirement to identify the parameter names the Discoverer form accepts in provider.xml file. Actually there is a large number of them, and I just can't imagine the whole set of them, so it looks like a problem.
Are there any other ways to put these reports in portlet?

UserInfo preferences cannot be set by a portlet.

I have a JSP that sets the value UserInfo got this error "Can not Be Set by UserInfo preferences for portlets."

Identity service cannot find user

Installed BPEL 10.1.2
added user using jazn.jar
Now trying to log into worklist sample application
and I get identity service cannot find user. Do I need to assign any role(s) to new user.
Let me know.

Discussion forum Cannot find the configuration file config\common\bc4j.xcfg

I successfully deployed the discussion form portlet and registered it with portal. I can reach the provider test page at Http://myserver:7777/forum/providers/forum
Everything seems to be good except when I add the portlet to a page, and then view the page, I see an error in the portlet:
"Unable to perform the operation: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-33001: Cannot find the configuration file config\common\bc4j.xcfg in the classpath"
I have verified that bc4j.xcfg (as I have modified it) exists in:
$IAS_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_Portal\applications\forum\forum\WEB-INF\classes\config\common
I followed the instructions exactly. Does anyone know how to resolve this error? I'm running portal 9.0.2.3.0B, PDK 9.0.2.6.2 and the latest discussion forum download (downloaded 7/1/2004)

Cannot find dashboard and reports after upgrading rdp from 10g to 11g OBIEE

Hi all
I am trying to upgrade from OBIEE 10g to 11g. These two products are installed on different servers. I have followed the guide: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2011/11-jul/o41bi-402913.html and everything seems to work fine.
So i have taken a copy of rdp from the server where was installed OBIEE 10g and took it in the server where OBIEE 11g is installed.
Ran the upgrade tool and upgrade finished successfully. Restarted the BI Servers in core application on Enterprise Manager.
Now when i access the upgraded rpd, the layers and the fields are fine but I cannot find all the reports and dashboards that i had created.
Am I missing any upgrade steps?

Thanks a lot for the information. First of all I would like to inform you that upgrade CANNOT be performed across two machine. So, if 10g installation is on Host A, then upgrade to 11g will be on Host A.
So, in your scenario this is what you can do:
1. On Host A running Forms/Discoverer 10g on Windows 2003, install Forms/Discoverer/Reports 11g (11.1.1.6.0)
2. Run the upgrade Assistant to perform the upgrade from 10g to 11g.
3. Now upgrade OS of Host A to Windows 2008
In short, I would like to inform you that upgrades across machines does not work. Source instance which is 10g and destination instance which is 11g must exist on same box.

FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX. The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.

Hi All,
I am on MDM 5.5 SP6.
I am getting the following error message when trying to logging in to the DM.
The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.This application will now exit.
Runtime Error :
Program C :\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\Data Manager\Datamanager.exe
R6025.
-Pure virtual function call.
And in console also the MDM server is stopped after getting the above error message.
Can anybody tell me what could be the problem?

Hi Sireesha,
According to me, there can be 3 problems,
1. Kindly check whether the MDM server is stopped. If it is, then restart the MDM Server and Load the repository with Update indices.
2. If this error is coming with every repository, the problem will be either in the Version mismatch of the Server and the GUI's you are using. Kindly ensure that the versions for the MDM server and the MDM Gui's Match.
3. If only Data manager Client is giving the problem, then you can un-install and install the DM GUI again.

"The Server cannot find the document corresponding to the document id"

Periodically when we schedule a Discoverer Report (Apps EUL) we get the following error:
"The Server cannot find the document corresponding to the document id sent for open"
Months back Oracle told us to do the following as a workaround:
Log into Oracle Desktop, schedule something, then go back to OracleBI Discoverer Plus.
The error goes away.
This is an insane workaround. Has anyone seen this error and found a patch or a realistic workaround.

I haven't seen this problem, but sure makes me wonder what Oracle is up to, when they essentially tell you to "give the scheduler a good slap via Disco Desktop" every now and then.
Maybe is you created an SR in Metalink you could slap them back on this one!

No indication what you try to do, no information about your environment either.
What I see is that the URL you use to start the app (if it is an app) has a suffix '.jspx' in it. This is normally not the case for Fusion Web apps. And the 'faces' part of the url is missing. So try http://127.0.0.1:7101/service_method_app-ViewController-context-root/faces/servicemethodTimo

Bij het runnen van een BC4J applicatie treedt de volgende fout op, wanneer gedraaid wordt op de 9ias applicatieserver vanuit de gedeployde ear-file, (draai ik de zaak op mijn lokale OC4J dan gaat de zaak wel goed):

Kijk ik echter in de WEB_INF\classes directory dan bestaat er wel degelijk een pilot\common\bc4j.xcfg file in die directory.

Cannot find the Universe (DA0011)

We have Migrated from Deski XIR2 to XI 3.1 FP4, when user either imports the report from the 3.1 repository or open Deski report they imported from the 3.1 repository they are getting the error Cannot find the Universe (DA0011). The user closes complete out of Deski and reopens and the report refreshes.

Thank you for the feedback. I had opened a case and was indeed hoping to be able to refer to yours. We were also facing this on our clients and there they gave us a workaround. Our universes folder on the clients points to a mapped networkdrive, by rewriting this path in UNC notation (so \\server\path...) this seemed to solve the problem.
What we also noticed was that the error on our clients only occurred the first time the deski application was started on the PC after reboot, refreshing the universes list in the universe panel or a restart of the application solved this.
So on the server I was thinking there might be a similar situation occuring. But I have to find a way to reproduce this.
If we ever get a solution for our problem I'll update this thread.
