Cannot find SRC.ZIP or SRC.JAR

Hello,
I just installed JDK 6 SE and I cannot find the SRC.JAR and SRC.ZIP files. I want to use the debugger in Eclipse and it is telling me:
The jar file rt.jar has no source attachment.
but I cannot seem to find it in the installation directory C:\Sun\SDK or any of it's subdirectories.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks,
Karl

I think I'm right when I say the source
doesn't come as standard.Nope. When you install the JDK, the installer asks you if you want to install the source code as well. The default option is "yes", so if you don't do anything, the file src.zip is stored in the JDK's root directory, which on Windows is C:\Program File\jdk1.6.0\...unless you specify a different location.

  • When I try to download Firefox for Windows, it unzips the file and says it cannot find 7-Zip file and stops download

I have windows 7 on a desktop. I had firefox before which worked fine then I attached a router to my computer that may have been defective and may have damaged the computer. I took the router off. Firefox suddenly reverted back to the start up page of when you are new to firefox, e.g. here's how it works, and stopped loading my normal home page. Even though I entered the tabs I wanted for my startup home page every time I shut down my computer it went back to the beginning thinking I had only just loaded it. I did lots of system diagnostics but nothing appeared to be wrong with my computer so I uninstalled Firefox, restarted, then downloaded it again. When I download it, it says run or save and I choose run. Then it extracts the file and a message comes up that says "7-Zip. Cannot find file. Then nothing more happens. No files are downloaded to my computer and it's as though I never tried to download it.

SAVE the installer to your hard drive (do not use the "Run" option); save it to your Desktop so that you can find it. When the download is complete, close whatever browser you have open, click or double-click the file you downloaded and see if it installs without a problem.
The downloader is a self-extracting archive and should not need or use 7-zip. I have 7-zip installed on my system and it does not interfere with nor is it used in the Firefox install process. Hopefully, you have not set the downloading of .exe files to be associated with 7-zip.

  • JBuilder archive cannot find classes12.zip

    Here's the prob:
I run the JBuilder archive tool to create an application jar. Then when I run the jar file from the command prompt the application opens fine, until I try to log onto the Oracle database. I then get and "FileCannotBeFound" error on the classes12.zip. I have it in my classpath as well as my project properties. I am unable to figure out why it works fine at complie and runtime through JBuilder but doesn't when running through the jar. Any suggestions?

When you create an application JAR, does the manifest have a Class-Path entry that includes classes12.zip?
"...I have it in my classpath as well as my project properties..." does this mean you've got it in a system CLASSPATH environment variable? JBuilder and java.exe are ignoring it.
I don't know about JBuilder, but Eclipse requires that you add 3rd party JARs to the project build path individually in a custom manner. I'll bet that JBuilder is similar. Check the docs to see how you might do that inside JBuilder.

    Hi,
It seems that “oracle” don’t have access to the directory/subdirectory where you download /copied the dump.
    Better follow the steps
    As root
    1.     Move the dump to /tmp
    2.     Chmod 777 /tmp
    3.     Chmod 777 <dump name>
    As oracle
    4.     Unzip <dump>
    Hope this helps

  • Error: C:\jdev10134\webservices\lib\jaxb-impl.jar The system cannot find..

In jdeveloper 10.1.3.4, I created a new synchronous BPEL project, then connected to my db and selected a package and did the right-click, create a web service from it. Now that I compile the project it returns this error:
Error: C:\jdev10134\webservices\lib\jaxb-impl.jar (The system cannot find the file specified)
Do I need to add something to jdeveloper to allow it to compile web services?

Creating a WS client in a BPEL project breaks BPEL compilatiopn, that's easy to reproduce.
I dont' know how you can fix this without getting rid of the WS client, but if you want to keep the BPEL and are happy to remove the WS client, then proceed as follows:
    - delete the src directory
    - remove the "oracle.jdevimpl.config.JProjectLibraries" and "ownerMap" sections in the *.jpr.
    - restart JDev
After this you should be able to compile the BPEL again.

  • Installing JDK 1.4, esp. the src.zip file

I have some questions about installing JDK 1.4:
    1. After running the executable installation file, you get a src.zip file in the installation directory. Does anyone know what this is? The obvious answer is that it is the library of code for JDK 1.4. However, I have run programs on Forte Agent without unzipping this file.
    2. In previous versions of the JDK, when you decompress the src.jar (it is now a src.zip file in the 1.4 version) file, it creates a src folder and decompresses all the information into that. However, in JDK 1.4, it does not create a src folder, but rather, decompresses the files into the installation directory. Is this a fault of the new release or should I create a src folder and have the src.zip file decompress into that folder?

from my experience, using weblogic jars can be a pain if the full install is not on the local box.
Note that you dont have to 'install' it. Just copy the directory.
Reason is that the jar files have manifests with relative classpaths.
For an example of horror take a look at the weblogic.jar MANIFEST's classpath entry.

  • Problems with src.zip

Hi, I can't seem to find a similar problem anywhere so, here we go:
I have just re-installed my WinXP Prof. on my workstation and installed j2sdk1.4.2 and thought that it was going to work, as it did before the re-install, but it doesn't.
The problem is that I get 100 errors and 207 Warnings when compiling a small and simple file.
It says that some of the source files in src.zip uses a deprecated api and that c:\j2sdk1.4.2\src.zip(java/nio/ByteBufferAsIntBufferB.java):34: warning: as of release 1.4, assert is a keyword, and may not be used as an identifier
    (source unavailable)and
c:\j2sdk1.4.2\src.zip(java/lang/IllegalArgumentException.java):20: class Illegal ArgumentException is public, should be declared in a file named IllegalArgumentException.java
(source unavailable)this is just a small portion of the errors that is diplayed.
I don't get it and neither does any of my colleges.
Can anyone help me make sense of this.

There is no reason for your JDK installation to look in the src.zip though your installation may be pointing to an older Java setup on your Win XP. Make sure that the CLASSPATH variable doesn't point to any other Java version other then the one you have. The source files, as far as I know, are provided for reference to the programmer only. They should not be included in any compilation.
Check your "Internet Properties" as well. There should be an option to indicate whether you are using the built in version of Java that may come with Win XP or one from SUN.
Also try moving the src.zip to another directory.
You should also be able to specify in your "Java Plug-In" in Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Make sure that it is pointing too and using your new Java installation (1.4.2).

  • Src.zip in SDK 1.4.0

Almost all of the .java files are corrupt(I've tried two

I'm sure. Most are corrupt although I did find three that
were ok. I don't see a problem posted so I'd like to
download a fresh copy but I don't see this option on the
    Java download pages.

  • The src.zip file

    hi guys
I'm rather a beginner to Java.
I posted a question related to this one on another section.
I'd like to know about the src.zip file
Is it essential to set up your JRE_SRC variable to point to the src.zip file?
What is the purpose of src.zip?
If we want to reference types such as String or Boolean or Integer, do we need to have src.zip set up?
    Thanks very much

    Shane7070 wrote:
I'm not sure what JRE_SRC does as i've seen very limited documentation but from my understanding it's the java runtime source and is supposed to contain the src.zip file. That's what i gather from the documentationAre you talking about some folder/directory? As I said I have never heard of it.
flounder, is src.zip necessary in order to reference classes in the packages that it contains?
In one place I read that it is necessary but in another place I read that it's just the source code to the classes that are compiled and located elsewhere in the jdk.As I said the src.zip file contains the source code, that is the .java files. To run Java programs you need the .class files and these have been placed inside a .jar file.

  • How to open a zip file of photos on Mac Book Pro when it cannot find or fix alias

I do a home photo editing business.  One of a my clients sent me a disc that she zipped to compress because there were a lot of pictures on it.  When I try to open it on my Mac Book Pro I keep getting an error message that it cannot find alias and what program do I want to use to open it.  It also gives me an option to "fix alias" but it doesn't seem to work.  What am I doing wrong?  Why can't I open zip files on my Mac Book Pro?  I should probably mention that the client also uses a Mac Book Pro and her pictures were in her iPhoto before she zipped them on a disc.
    Thanks for your help!!!

I did copy it to my desktop, but it still won't let me open it.  I think the file on the disc might be corrupt or something like that though the cd itself checks out fine as far as viruses go.  I was able to verify the disc, but that's about it.  My husband tried it on his iMac and we have the same issue.  It's unzipping the folder, but won't let us open the folder on both the Mac Book Pro or the iMac by double clicking, going to file/open or right clicking.  It just keeps saying the same message as I posted above.  I think I'm just going to have the client put the pictures on either a memory card or a USB memory stick so she won't have to compress the files for zipping purposes.  It's been too frustrating trying to open this folder on this cd she gave me.  She said she created/zipped the cd on her Mac Book Pro but it sure won't open on mine.
