Cannot get user password expiration status with Jco 2.1

I am using Jco 2.1. Is it possible to get the status of the user's password (expired or not) using Jco, or is there any BAPI which can do this task. I get an exception in Jco when the user is locked or does not have any access to the respective function groups, but no exceptions in this case. It allows the user to conenct to SAP even when the password has expried.
In the code, I am using JCo Client connect and disconnect. It connects sucessfully, even when the password has expired in SAP.

Getting the "cannot get mail, password is incorrect" message with my AOL account only.

Getting the "cannot get mail, password is incorrect" message with my AOL account only. Could this have something to do with the iOS 7 update? When I log into my mail through safari it's fine, and I deleted it from my phone and went to go add it back but now I can't because it keeps telling me my password, which is correct, is incorrect. Has anyone else had this issue since iOS 7? How can I fix it?

I have had issues of "password incorrect" and mail not being sent, after doing the latest IOS 8 update to both my iPhone and iPad. I tired all the different suggestions I found (deleting and re-adding my AOL account, changing my password, etc) and nothing fixed it until now! While searching around for a solution, I happened upon a post from someone. I tried doing this to all three of my AOL email accounts (on both my iPhone and iPad) and now it works great! Here what that post said to do:
"1. Set up your AOL account(s) using the AOL option
2. Go into each AOL account(s) and under the "Outgoing Mail Server" section, press the SMTP entry
3. Set the "Primary Server" to "Off"
4. Press "Add Server" and provide the following information in the "Outgoing Mail Server" section
    a. Host Name - type in: smtp.aol.com
    b. User name - type in your user name WITHOUT the "@aol.com" - that was the problem/change!
    c. Password - type in your password
    d. Use SSL - On
    e. Authentication - Password
    f. Server Port - 587 (mine automatically set it to port 587)
After you enter in the above info, the Primary Server will still be set to OFF, but the new server you set will be set to ON, just doesn't show up in the Primary Server section. Be sure to do the above steps for each one of your AOL accounts (if you have multiples ones).
Apparently, in the main AOL Account Information section you need to use your user name and the "@aol.com", but you need to leave the "@aol.com" out of the SMTP. However, the Primary Server has that whole section grayed out so you need to ignore that one and create another one."

We are using NW2004s with BI and DI,EP. We set the parameter "user password expiration" for every 30 days for the NW2004S systems(dual stack).
In the system users SAPJSF,NWDI_CMSADM,J2EE_ADMIN,NWDI_ADM, ADMINITRATOR is also getting change once in every month(30 days),So that we need to change the password and it should get update in the visual admin and config tools. Some time this arising problem. Is there any way to avoid the password expire for this particular user in the system .
Note :Password expire parameter should keep compulsory in the system
So Please guide us to resolve those problem.

I don't suggest you to change J2EE_ADMIN password. instead you should logon with your user.
Anyway.... please find below a small program to control passwords validity. for some users is very usefull.

SLD Disconnection due to User Password Expiration

Hi,
Our Portal runs with NW04 SP17 and we've implemented security parameters so users password will expire after 30 days.
As we're developing many Webdynpro applications that connects to backend R/3 Systems we're using SLD Jco connections.
But once a month our applications stops working as the SLD connection users password expires.
This is a very big problem for us. We don't want to change users password every month and make our application users unhappy.
Any idea? or solution purposal?

Im not getting AD password expiration notices in Leopard

Has anyone else having problems getting AD password expiration notices in AD environments on Leopard Macs? It used to work for me in Tiger, but Im not getting the warnings when I log into Leopard Macs. Entourage warns me, but the Login window isn't prompting me with the expected "Your password will expire in xxx days." All my Macs are running 10.5.2 in simple AD 2003 domain.

I have a few 10.4.11 Tiger Macs and they DO work as expected - I get Active Directory password expiration notices at the Login window of my Tiger clients.
Notes:
Most of my users are local admins (don't ask why - long story)
All of my users have managed mobile user accounts for offline access (laptop users etc)
All my Macs are running 10.5.2. None of them can get AD password notices at the login window.
All my Macs are bound to a simple AD 2003 domain. No big forest. 1 single domain.
When I log into my AD domain from a Mac, I get a TGT from the KDC (which is an Active Diectory domain controller) as expected. Thus, Kerberos appears to be working.
DNS works fine (forward and reverse lookups are resolving as expected)
It used to work for me back in Tiger, but I'm not getting the warnings when I log into my Leopard Macs. Entourage 2004 and 2008 warns me about password expiration, but the OS XLogin window isn't prompting me with the expected "Your password will expire in xxx days."

Finding if novell user password expired

Is there a way to find if the novel user's password has expired?? Is there an api method of netwin32.dll that will do the trick?
I am writing a program where i want to change the novell user's
password. This i want to do only if the password has expired. The
trouble is to find whether the password has expired or not. I found
something regarding the attribute Password Expiration Time. Is that
the right way to determine the password expiration? Is there any other
way i can find this out?
How can i user NWDSGetAttrVal to get the password expiration value?

I find this sort of thing is easier with LDAP to the eDirectory LDAP server rather than API calls, with the advantage that the resulting solution is cross platform...
You might find some ideas in this php web script on how you can interrogate LDAP about upcoming expired acconts, but I've never got into setting passwords that way - there are some obvious security issues to thin through... expusers | Novell User Communities

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

I happened to stumble upon the answer. I would imagine a lot of other Gmail users are going to have this problem soon so here is the answer.
Gmail has just recently changed their security settings and they use what they're calling a "2-step verification" process. Because of this, certain apps like iOS Mail cannot verify passwords because they can't use the same process.
To fix this, Gmail now provides something called an "app specific password" that will be generated by Gmail and will allow iOS Mail to verify your Gmail account.
To set this up, go into your Gmail account settings on the Google website and click on privacy. Set up the 2-step verification process and it should be self explanatory from there.

Here's how to do it.
1. App Store, iTunes Store should have the same AppleID on Computer and iPhones. (Free to share apps, music and books... )
2. Person A uses the same purchasing account for everything (ie. email, contacts and ...).
3. Person B have the same purchase account see no. 1 (for App Store and iTunes Store) but create a second AppleID for iCal, e-mail, contacts and etc.

It seems that passwordExpirationTime LDAP attribute doesn't work at all. I can add it to a user entry but it has no effect, no matter what value it has. Do we have to set any configuration value in order to active it? Is there any other way to achieve some kind of "user password expiration" feature?
