Need Help, setup OBIEE 11g user password expiration

Any one know how to setup OBIEE user password expiration?
Requirement: create demo user in OBIEE and the demo user password should expired weekly.

I have a requirement.. for which the data in columns(in database) needs to get counted based on conditions and should be displayed in Rows in the reports.
Example below
The data in the table is as shown below.. in columns
Eng_code     Math_code      Read_code
1     2     1
1     2     2
2     3     3
U     2     U
3     1     U
In the report the data should be displayed as below...
     Total
Eng     xxx
Math     xxx
Read     xxx
I dont have this Eng, Math, Read flags in the table and I have to derive them based on the columns. I'm trying to get this using a case like
case when Eng_code in ('1','2','3','U') then 'Eng'
when Math_code in ('1','2','3','U') then 'Math'
when Read_code in ('1','2','3','U') then 'Read'
But I'm getting only 'Eng' as the result. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi User,
It seems to be you need a Count( Engg_Code), Count(Math_code), Count(Read_code) and show all of them Under same Column Total.
Create Logical column in Rpd to calculate those counts.
Logical column 1 -> Name it as 'Total Eng Codes' -> Count(Engg_code)
Logical Column 2 -> Name it as 'Total Math codes' -> Count(Math_code)
Similarily even for Read_code.
This shows count of those values like 200, 400, 600 individual.
But, if you want to show Like Eng 200, Math 400, Read 600.....
Then cast the same column using this one Concatenate (Eng ||Total Eng Code)
similarily, all the three.
Take a column Conc(Eng || Total Eng Code) custom name : Total.
Now, using union by similar request or else, by writing case statement read other two values.
Using similar request- Take intially, one column. (Apply union - click on combine similar request)
- Now take second column.
Similarly add as many number of columns as required

"user password expiration" for every 30 days for the NW2004S systems

We are using NW2004s with BI and DI,EP. We set the parameter "user password expiration" for every 30 days for the NW2004S systems(dual stack).
In the system users SAPJSF,NWDI_CMSADM,J2EE_ADMIN,NWDI_ADM, ADMINITRATOR is also getting change once in every month(30 days),So that we need to change the password and it should get update in the visual admin and config tools. Some time this arising problem. Is there any way to avoid the password expire for this particular user in the system .
Note :Password expire parameter should keep compulsory in the system
So Please guide us to resolve those problem.

I don't suggest you to change J2EE_ADMIN password. instead you should logon with your user.
Anyway.... please find below a small program to control passwords validity. for some users is very usefull.

SLD Disconnection due to User Password Expiration

Hi,
Our Portal runs with NW04 SP17 and we've implemented security parameters so users password will expire after 30 days.
As we're developing many Webdynpro applications that connects to backend R/3 Systems we're using SLD Jco connections.
But once a month our applications stops working as the SLD connection users password expires.
This is a very big problem for us. We don't want to change users password every month and make our application users unhappy.
Any idea? or solution purposal?

User password expiration

Hello.
It seems that passwordExpirationTime LDAP attribute doesn't work at all. I can add it to a user entry but it has no effect, no matter what value it has. Do we have to set any configuration value in order to active it? Is there any other way to achieve some kind of "user password expiration" feature?

On 12093863, this feature will be implemented in the messaging patch-28. There is no news available yet from the Convergence side on 12251399.

If the iPad has Activation Lock - that is, it's asking for the previous owner's Apple ID and password to activate the device or to turn off Find My iPhone - then you will need that information. There's no way around it If your father can't remember the password, he'll need to recover it.

If he can't do it via that page, then he'll have to call Apple Support and ask to speak with Account Security.
If that's not the "password" you meant, please post back and clarify.

looks like there is a way to recover the lost passwords for RPD's using listcred() method of wlst

Listing the Credential in Dev Environment:
All the Credential Keys are generally stored in an encrypted format (the passwords). So, to migrate we will need to first extract these passwords and then do the migration to Production. The passwords can be extracted through the listCred() method of WLST. We need to be connected to the Admin Server for this method to work. The exact command is given below

listCred(“DevMap”,”DevKey”)
This will show the encrypted password entered inside the key as shown below
And this is what we see in the enterprise manager.
As you see, with listCred we are able to extract the full credentials. Now, lets try to see what is the default password for the BISystemUser.

In the same way lets extract the passwords of the SampleAppLite repository.
listCred(“oracle.bi.enterprise”,”repository.SampleAppLite”)
With this we can even extract the lost Repository passwords."

Goto ST04/ detailed analysis menu Oracle session.
Identify your session searching something like SELECT ... FROM /BIC/A* where * is your ODS name in the SQL statement.
Click on this SQL statement and then display execution plan;
if you aren't on Oracle then let me know what options you do have...

Portal Users Passwords expiring

In 9.02 it seems my portal users passwords seem to expire for no reason. When it happens, I have to go in and manually re-set their passwords. Is this a bug or is there some place to control this.

Set the number of seconds before password expiration that the directory server
sends the user a warning. By default the "Password Expiration Warning"
parameter is set to 0, which disables the expiration warning.
Also if the users need to be able to login after the password expiration set
the "Number of Grace Logins after Password Expiration" parameter to a
number greater than 0.
Change these parameters in the following manner:
1. Start the Oracle Directory Manager from the home of the iAS Infrastructure
2. Login as the OID administrator, i.e. orcladmin
3. Click on the + on the left of Password Policy Management
4. Click on your password policy to change the settings on the right pane
5. Set the Password Expiration Warning in seconds i.e. 259200 for 3 days.
6. Set the Number of Grace Logins after Password Expiration to a greater than 0
value i.e. 1. This will add a last opportunity for the user after his/her
password expired.

Communications user password expires

Hi,
The password of our communications user (ZCONTRANS) always expires/deactivated.
How can I set tha password of this particular user not to expire?
We could not chage the login/password_expiration_time parameter because we need dialog users password to expire every 90 days (for audit requirement).

HI,
use the usertype 'SYSTEM' instead of usertype 'Communication'. Passwords of 'System'-users do not
expire. (the usertype can be set in SU01->tab 'logondata')

Need help on exporting oracle users

Hi,
we currently on oracle ver. 7.3.3 with quite a number of oracle users created. We are in the midst of migrating over to Oracle ver. 8.1.7. We want to preserve the user details, so we don't have to recreate all of them again.
How do I export the users from ver. 7.3.3 over to ver. 8.1.7, preserving the user passwords, profiles, rights, etc?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mr. Hian,
Take a Full database export from 7.x by connecting as SYS user (with FULL=Y) and import in the same in 8.1.7. Only thing u need to do here is to create all the required tablespaces(tablespaces used in 7.1.x DB) in 8.1.7 DB before importing the Db.

Just use the plain linear fit!
(If you are discussing something you found in the forum, you should always include a link so we can see what you area talking about. What you probably found was a workaround that forces an intercept of zero for a special scenario. If you want to use general linear fit anyway, your matrix simply also needs a constant term)
