Netui:tree with calculated tree
Hi!
I am fighting with the netui:tree tag in a JSP with Bea Weblogic. Showing a tree
like
<netui:tree tree="commodityTreeResult" action="updateTree" imageRoot='<%=
request.getContextPath() + "/resources/images" %>'>
<netui:node label="root" expanded="true">
<netui:node label="root.1"></netui:node>
<netui:node label="root.2"></netui:node>
</netui:node>
</netui:tree>
works easily. But I'd like to show a tree that is calculated by a Java-Control.
I hoped something like
<netui-data:callControl resultId="treeResult" controlId="treeService"
method="makeTree"></netui-data:callControl>
<netui:tree tree="{pageContext.treeResult}" action="updateTree" imageRoot='<%=
request.getContextPath() + "/resources/images" %>'>
</netui:tree>
gives an error "Cannot find tree control attribute 'commodityTreeResult',
and something like
<netui:tree tree="commodityTreeResult" action="updateTree" imageRoot='<%=
request.getContextPath() + "/resources/images" %>' rootNode="{pageContext.treeResult}">
</netui:tree>
does not work either. How do I "plug in" a calculated tree into netui:tree?
Thanks so much,
Hans-Peter
Hi! Alright, I had the same problem and solved with the sample code. Put the code into your PF's begin, to initialize a TreeNode hierarchy, and store it in session.tree:
HttpSession session = getRequest().getSession();
TreeNode rootNode = new TreeNode(null,
"Root", // Label
null, // Action
"javascript:alert('Root');",
null, // Target
false // Expanded
session.setAttribute("tree", rootNode);
for (int i=0; i < 10; i++)
TreeNode node = new TreeNode(null,
"Node #" + i, // Label
null, // Action
"javascript:alert('Node #" + i + "');",
null, // Target
false // Expanded
rootNode.addChild(node);
After that, just refer to the root node as XScript "{session.tree}":
<netui:tree tree="{session.tree}" action="updateTree"></netui:tree>
Dont't forget to implement updateTree - just copy and paste it from the tree sample. Good luck! -
Hi.
I’m trying to modify default sample from Workshop sp2 for netui:tree tag.
<netui:tree tree="{session.tree}" imageRoot="treeImages" style="tree-control"
action="treeState">
I need to change my fonts for tree and change default images to my own plus other
stuff.
I cannot find source for style="tree-control”, if it is xml / xslt transformation
where those files are?

All,
Can anyone supply me with an examplpe of using a netui:tree in a JSP portlet(s)?
I am going to be selecting info from a database and would like to loop through
that info to populate the tree. I have had zero success in getting the tree to
render.
What I want to have happen is 1. select the data 2. populate the tree 3. user
selects node in tree and another portlet refreshes with parameters for that node
(such as address, phone number) 4. User edits info 5. Info is written back to
the DB 6. tree is updated.
Is any of that even possible? I can't be the only person to ever try it.
Thanks,

CAnnot see the tree and how to sync users
Setting up a demo network.
1 Novell Netware SBS server
1 Linux SBS server
Installed eDirectory to the Linux box, imanager and everything works fine.
Netware - master replica
Linux - read/write
If the Netware server goes down, we cannot see the tree.
Tried with SLP and without.
creating users in iManager from either server IP works fine and shows up in
Console1
Is there a way that when we add a user to the NDS, that it will create a
user on the Linux server as well? I mean on the actual linux server, not
eDirectory?
I suppose similar to setting DirXML for Active Directory and NDS?Hi, thanks for your e-mail, pretty much the same deal for me, except one of
my techs is a Red Hat guy, so we had some tech knowledge before testing
this.
Actually, we noted that through ldap, we can see the eDirectory users on the
Linux server under the users section, and we can add them to linux groups
and shares, which through the setup of Samba, can map drives to the linux
server.
you should check out the article I sent along earlier that explains how to
set that up. Very interesting.

Hello Robert,
Just so you don't feel alone out there..
A little of my background. I am a Linux newbie, ex MCNE from NW4 days and
run and deploy NW65 im my job. I decided to learn Linux and as I don't use
it at work. I thought the only real way to get familiar with it was to run
it at home. I purchased NLSBS9 and have installed it as the home server
and it runs the households email and Internet access. My users have
resistance to Linux at the desktop so its XPpro for now.
My experiences with NLSBS9..(remember I am a Linux newbie, hopefully if I
tell you something that is incorrect someone will jump in and correct me.)
It appears that NLSBS9 with it's accompanying Novell Linux desktop
licences was conceived as a total package. Linux clients to Linux server.
Windows client support is not so well implemented. For Windows user file
and printer access you need to run and configure Samba. Samba requires
linux users to be created and these are stored in an Ldap directory.
eDirectory is present solely for GroupWise to run, it is not linked to the
LDAP directory. The two directories are not linked or synced in any way.
I thought NLSBS consisted of Suse Linux Open server plus Groupwise.
Apparently not, as Suse has a facilty called LUM (Linux user management)
which is a tool that you can manage users with and it is linked to
eDirectory.
A little birdie tells me an announcement about NLSBS9 and future
developments could be made during Brainshare....
There is a .PDF of nearly 8 mbs. that is a introductory course to
installing and configuring NLSBS9 you can get it by running this url :-
http://www.novell.com/partners/nlsbs...lsbs_final.pdf
NLSBS9, for me, has been rock solid and all issues with it have been
caused by my own inexperienced hands.....GroupWise has performed
faultlessly.
Hope this helps..
Rgds.

Problem of refreshing a tree in web dynpro java
hi all,
I'm facing a problem for refreshing a tree in web dynpro java for SAP HR.
I created a viewset with 2 cells( 1 view for each).
In the 1st view I created a droplistbyindex to select the unit ID and in the 2nd view ( defaut=false) I called a method to populate my tree according to my selection in the 1st view ( method called in wdInit).
When I make the first selection everything is ok.
But when I select another unit ID, the tree is not changed and I know the context is well changed according to my selection.
So I think the method is executed only the first the view is called.
In this case, how can I refresh my tree on real-time?
Thanks for your help
YiminMay be u can write the code wdDoModify instead.

Hi Everybody,
I need to get Tree nodes refreshed based on some criteria.
The criteria will be based on a combobox or PopupMenuButton change
event. To achieve the same, I am using a Tree control, which is
being populated by an XMLListCollection. The XMLListcollection has
a filterFunction that filters the tree nodes that will be
displayed. The criteria for the filterFunction depends on a
ComboBox selection.
The filterFunction for the XMLListCollection is called during
the Combo change event but the tree data is not refreshed and
doesnot display the desired filtered result.
I have tried doing this for a arraycollection with a datagrid
and it works fine but doesnot work for a tree. How can we refresh
the tree data. Below are the code snippet used to perform the Tree
filter which is not working and not throwing any error as well.
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="vertical" creationComplete="SetFilter();"
creationPolicy="all" >
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.controls.Alert;
import flash.events.Event;
private function SetFilter():void{
xlc.filterFunction = treeFilter;
private function treeFilter(item:Object):Boolean{
var blResult:Boolean = false;
var csProject:String = [email protected]();
// mx.controls.Alert.show(csProject + " .. " +
cmbTree.selectedLabel.toString());
if(csProject.indexOf(cmbTree.selectedLabel.toString()) !=
-1){
blResult = true;
return blResult;
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:XML id="xmldata" source="data/treedata.xml"/>
<mx:XMLListCollection id="xlc"
source="{xmldata.node}" filterFunction="treeFilter"/>
<mx:Tree id="trTest" dataProvider="{xlc}"
labelField="@label" showRoot="false">
</mx:Tree>
<mx:ComboBox id="cmbTree" change="xlc.refresh()">
<mx:ArrayCollection>

<mx:Object label="By Licensee, Date" data="By Licensee,
Date"/>
<mx:Object label="By Licensee, Date, Project" data="By
Licensee, Date, Project"/>
</mx:ArrayCollection>
</mx:ComboBox>
</mx:Application>
treedata.xml file has the following data that is displayed as
tree nodes.
<root>
<node label="By Licensee, Project">
<node label="Abc">
<node label="Mugs"/>
<node label="Test" />
</node>
</node>
<node label="By Licensee, Project, File Type">
<node label="Abc123">
<node label="Mugs1"/>
<node label="Test1" />
</node>
</node>
<node label="By Licensee, Date">
<node label="Abc456">
<node label="Mugs2"/>
<node label="Test2" />
</node>
</node>
<node label="By Licensee, Date, Project">
<node label="Abc567">
<node label="Mugs3"/>
<node label="Test3" />
</node>
</node>
</root>
Please advise and suggest on where I am going wrong or if
there is any other better way to perform the desired result.
Thanks.
Regards,
ParomitaYou can not filter but can you refresh the tree control? Or
do you have to build a new dataprovider every time ... What if you
want to add an item to a node such as:
tree.dataDescriptor.addChildAt(tree.selectedItem,
{label:"topper", children:[{label:"one"}, {label:"two"}]}, 0);
once you add the item you have to expand the node that you
added it to ... how do you get the tree to refresh ... i have tried
tree.validateDisplayList();
tree.validateNow();
treeDp.refresh();
and my dataprovider is an ArrayCollection -
Building netui:tree from XML
Hi,
I am trying to build a Tree in Workshop 8.1 using netui:tree tag (for data in
an XML file).
The BEA docs say that we have to assign the TreeNode object to the 'tree' attribute
in the netui:tree tag.
What is the best way to translate the XML doc into a TreeNode object(s)?
Thanks,
Ajay

11g Upgrade Assistant Error - "Cannot refresh - Currently locked"
I am running OBIEE 11g on Linux 32bit OS. It is a new OBIEE 11g install, I am just upgrading the 10g RPD and web catalog from our existing 10g server on this machine to serve as a separate 11g test environment. I have successfully upgraded the 10g RPD file using this 11g server's Upgrade Assistant utility. However, when I attempt to upgrade the 10g web catalog directory export on this machine I get the following error within the Upgrade Assistant:
[2011-03-09T13:38:25.565-05:00] [BIEE] [ERROR] [] [upgrade.BIEE] [tid: 13] [ecid: 0000IuRtnAxFw000jzwkno1DTwWL000004,0] javax.management.RuntimeMBeanException: Cannot refresh - Currently locked[[
For the web catalog "directory export" I am referencing, I just tarred up the existing 10g web catalog and FTPed it to this server then ran the Upgrade Assistant against that directory.
I don't have the RPD open and I am not logged into the system. Does anyone know what the issue is or if I can upgrade a directory web catalog export on this machine?
Any help would be appreciated.Jan,
Thank you for the reply. I did install using the "Simple" method vs. using the "Enterprise" method. However, I really don't want to re-install and reconfigure this server again. I already had an issue with using Linux 64bit OS previously (IDM authentication did not work). Using Linux 32bit OS IDM authentication is working now.
I will try a few more things, if I can't find a resolution then I will attempt the "Enterprise" install method and see if my catalog will upgrade.
Thank you. -
Netui:tree and portal problem?
I may have found a problem regarding using netui:tree & netui:treenode tags in
a pageflow when that pageflow is placed in a portlet in a portal.
The problem is that expanding and contracting the nodes does not
work in this case....(it does work when the pageflow is NOT placed in a portal.)
I have drilled down on this a bit to see what was happening. Here are my impressions.
This line of code (taken from the page flow taken from the supplied tree tutorial):
[nodeExpanded = getRequest().getParameter(TreeNode.EXPAND_NODE);]
is used to get a refence to the node that was clicked
The constant
[TreeNode.EXPAND_NODE]
equates to the string "netui_treenode".
In the working case (outside of the portal) this parameter and its value
are received in the request passed to the page flow. (and can be used to
change the state of the tree node).
But when running the tree pageflow in the portal (does not work), this parameter
does not exist in the request received by the page flow.
If you examine the html of the tree while running in the portlet and search for
the
string "netui_treenode", you will find that the urls for the node expansion contain
this
parameter (as they should) ....but for some reason this parameter and its value
never get
through the page flow method.
This is the cause of the problem.
Any ideas?This issue is fixed in 8.1 sp3, or if you need a patch for 8.1 sp2, contact support
and ask for the patch for CR129990.

Gurus, :)
I had an issue when i used the NetUI true in my project(on Weblogic10gR3), when i keep clicking the netUI tree,

I cannot refresh pages in firefox anymore since i updated to firefox 4.0
I cannot refresh pages. Not when I opened a file, nor when i have open a webpage.
When i want to refresh a file, i have to reopen it again.In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (Refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. For more details on customizing the toolbar see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar
You can also press F5 to reload a page. -
Could not load or refresh node tree creation failed on node
Hi Experts
I created one user with MSS role and ERP COMM role.
It is working fine. We restarted the server for other purpose. Then surprisingly the MSS role was locked. I am unable to see the MSS tab in the top level navigation.
When i expand the workset in line manager -> Manager Self Service -> Worksets
I am getting the following error::
Could not load or refresh node tree creation failed on node:
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.worksets
I can be able to expand and priveiw the Pages and iviews, except the worksets
Please guide me, i am badly stucked here.

Bea netui:Tree only half-working?
I've faught with the netui:tree class for almost a year now. I ended up having to write my own render engine for it because the built-in functionality doesn't work very well. Now that I am re-visiting it and trying to write a very generic utility for it so a tree can easily be made for any part of my app, I want to try and get one specific part working, if only to make my life easier. The styleSelected and styleUnselected attributes DO NOT WORK. Specifically they aren't working in a portal enviro. Does ANYONE have any ideas as to why this is not working? And BEA, how about giving your customers something more than half-assed documentation?
Hello
I appreciate if you could kindly go through the following link regarding ususage of NetUI:Tree, where you can find sample

Urgent: Datatype change, cannot refresh business area
First time I've pulled the Urgent thing but I have a problem. We had a datatype change for an ID field and I cannot refresh the associated business area because it get the following error message after it analyses the differences. There are several areas where this field is referenced, but it is only showing me one. When I try to refresh I get the following:
"This item is used elsewhere, its datatype cannot be changed".
The item is used in several joins within this business area. If they are all changed when the business area refreshes, things should work fine. Any thoughts?So in the database you changed the datatype for this ID field. This ID field I assume is a foreign key in other database tables. Where those tables updated also to the new datatype?
