Eth0 and eth1 are improperly configured [Solved]

*Interfaces solved by reassigning Mac addresses for both interfaces and reflecting those changes in rc.conf
DHCP is no longer working for me and my HP Mini-1125nr netbook is no longer able to get online via ifplugd.  This adds to my ongoing battle with Broadcom-wl (I installed it from the AUR) and Arch wireless in general.  It seems my interfaces are not setup correctly.  I'm using the wiki and google, but not winning the war.  At boot network fails and declares

    Pointing the browser to https://somedomain.net/downloads/downloads/downloads/executable.exe results in a 405, 404 errors. This is served by a 6.1 SunOne webserver. Since, the mime type for exe is addressed by CGI am staring to wonder if that is correct.
    Basically, the question is - how could I serve a "exe" file ?

  • [half-SOLVED] eth0 and eth1 getting swapped every time

    Hi,
    The title says it all, but I don't know what else to do.
    I've tried putting the modules in order in the MODULES array in /etc/rc.conf, but it doesn't work. Apparently, the modules in MODULES aren't guaranteed to load in the order they are anymore.
    I've tried following this wiki page, about Udev, but it didn't work, too.
    I also tried closing my eyes and pretending it doesn't happen, but it didn't work too.

    hw-tph wrote:Read the manpage for iftab: man 5 iftab
    Quickest and cleanest way, IMHO.
    It's half working. I've edited /etc/iftab and I've put 'ifrename' in /etc/rc.local . My wired connection does get renamed, but my wireless doesn't. It gives me an error saying that eth1 is busy, which doesn't make sense as I load wicd only after ifrename.
    I think now I have a predictable behaviour: wired is always 'wired' and wireless is always 'eth1', so I'll keep it. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it's better than completely random.
    As hw-tph's solution is the one that suckless™, I'll stay with it. Thanks to all of you that tried to help.

  • ETH0 and ETH1 on SOM Dev Board (sbRIO-9651)

    I am getting about 33M bytes per second over ETH0 (dev board label) and 36M bytes per second ETH1 (dev board label) using TCP/IP UDP data  size of 65,500 bytes which gives the best performance.
    Is this the performance limit of the SOM or is there a more preferred method to get something like 80M bytes/sec (800M bit/second) which is what I would like to get.
    The one core is running at 70% utilization and the other like 20%.
    I have jumbo frame enabled at 9K.
    What can I try?
    Thanks.

    Hello User5551212,
    After doing some additional research, it seems that our benchmarking tests for this device put the typical Ethernet communication at around the same rate that you have been getting. There is a limitation associated with the architecture behind the communication that probably will not allow you to get 80 MB/s speeds. The only way around this would be to create your own Ethernet controller in the FPGA, which would take up a lot of the FPGA fabric but could greatly increase the ceiling on communication speeds.
    From what you told me, it seems like you have already taken care of most optimizations that we suggest in software (ie, using jumbo frames, increasing packet size, utilizing the Nagle algorithm). The only other suggestion I could make would be using parallel TCP streams. However, I found a couple of resources that might be helpful for the underlying configuration of TCP or UDP. Please keep in mind that changes to the Linux RT kernel will likely not be supported!

  • Where are my other devices? eth1 and eth2 are away! :(

    hello!
    yesterday, before upgrading the system (pacman -Syu - think it was udev etc.) i had the devices eth0, eth1, eth2 and sit0. eth2 was my wireless (ipw2200) device. now, after reboot, all devices but eth0 and sit0 are away. what's happened? any ideas? where i can get an older version of udev? i have no old udev-pkg in the pacman-cache. i also had renamed the /etc/sysctl.conf because of errors at bootup.

    tomk wrote:Not an ipw user myself, but I dn't think this is a udev problem - udev doesn't touch network interfaces.
    I thought so as well. But since yesterday's udev update, hotplug is definitively broken for me on both machines.
    Obviously hotplug doesn't load modules and bring up interfaces any more. I don't know how this is related to udev, but just look at this:
    [07/04/05 01:45] synchronizing package lists
    [07/04/05 01:45] starting full system upgrade

    [07/04/05 01:48] upgraded wine (20050419-1 -> 20050628-1)
    and this:
    [07/04/05 01:45] synchronizing package lists
    [07/04/05 01:45] starting full system upgrade
    [07/04/05 01:47] upgraded e2fsprogs (1.37-1 -> 1.38-1)
    [07/04/05 01:47] upgraded heimdal (0.6.4-1 -> 0.6.5-1)
    [07/04/05 01:47] upgraded udev (058-4 -> 060-1)
    Edit:
    This is from /etc/start_udev
    case "$(uname -r)" in
    2.6.[0-9]|2.6.[0-9][!0-9]*) ;;
    *) echo "/sbin/udevsend" > /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug ;;
    esac
    So there is a relation between hotplug and udev, because udevsend handles hotplug requests. It also did so with udev 058-4, but 058-4 worked perfectly.

  • How to find on which line - eth0 or eth1 packets are received

    hi,
    i've two lines - eth0 and eth1 on my board and using tcp sockets. I've used INADDR_ANY in bind(). I get packets on
    both eth0 and eth1. How to find to which line(eth0 or eth1) a packet received belongs to ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    liuxgate

    Normal TCP/IP Sockets in Java (ie java.net.Socket) do not offer any exposure to packets and how/when they are received. But why do you care?
    Check that. There is a DatagramPacket class, which means you must be able to send around "packets" in some way. I've never seen or used this before, so I can't say. But maybe someone else will know.

  • How to swap eth0 - eth1 with testingudev rules[SOLVED

    Hi,
    I want to use the udev in testing because my ML-1710P works just out of the box. Of course there is one problem ... I have two network cards and they are recognized by kernel as eth0 the one that uses 8139too (a Realtek I belive) and as eth1 the one that uses tulip. I need to swap their names because I use the tulip one for internet (my ISP uses MAC address for validation)
    Previously I had in /etc/modprobe.conf
    alias eth0 tulip
    alias eth1 8139too
    I already tried
    KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx", NAME="eth1"
    KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx", NAME="eth0"
    in a file /etc/udev/rules.d/00_my.rules with correct MAC address (and lines order swapped also), but it won't work.
    Any ideea how to do this?
    PS: I have MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes" in /etc/rc.conf

    I would add the modules to the modules section in rc.conf, in the order you need them to be loaded. It does not change the autoload function, but this modules are loaded just before autoloader starts. So here is a good point to touch the system. In the end, it does what your old modprobe.conf entries did.
    The first one will allways be eth0 etc.

    Hi Ychinnari,
    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
    Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
    Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible,please also not specify this account:
    This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
    When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
    When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.

    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

    Steven DeSalvo

    Hi StevenDE2012,
    Based on the error message "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)", it seems that the Unattended Execution Account settings in Reporting Services
    Configuration is not correct.
    Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
    a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
    to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
    Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
    On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
    Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
    In addition, please verify you have access to the Report Server database by following steps:
    Go to SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager, make sure the configuration is correct.
    Go to Database, Verify that you can connect to the database.
    Make sure you are granted public and RSExecRole roles.
    Reference:
    Configure the Unattended Execution Account
    Configure a Report Server Database Connection
    If the problem is unresolved, i would appreciate it if you could give us detailed error log, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.
    Thanks,

  • HT1277 I can not configure my major mail account at Mac Mфail - other accounts such as Hotmail and Gmail are working great. Also, I am using that major account at iPhone and iPad with no problem

    hello. I can not configure my major mail account at Mac Mфail - other accounts such as Hotmail and Gmail are working great. Also, I am using that major account at iPhone and iPad with no problem. I had contacted mail provider - we had followed step by step all the settings,, they are correct, and I was suggested to use another mail program. Why, for God's sake I should use different programs for different mail accounts? Anyone, had the same problem?

    it says - IMAP - Trying to log into this IMAP account is failed - Verify that username and password are correct
    same for SMTP
    in details -

    I can't log into FaceTime or Messages, checked that my ID and password are correct, checked that settings are set correctly.  Could it be that latest OS download changed my configurations that disable access?

    Update to above question:
    Hello All,
    To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
    Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
    Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
    Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
    When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
    All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
    So this fix worked for me.
    After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
    I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.
    Bob
