Cannot run xmlbeans/javamethods using JNI

Hi ,
I am trying to call javamethods ( that use xmlbeans for XML processing ) from C/C++ application.
When I try to run my application i get the following error.
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/xmlbeans/XmlException"
I thought it is a classpath issue. But i am not able to resolve it. I tried setting the classpath in various way.
Any help on this issue.
thanks,
sanjay

Scientific Linux, not sure what precise version (I'm PuTTYing in, today) but 2.4 kernel.
Appears to be set up with gcc 3.2.3. Precise command was:
cc -I/.../include/ -I/.../include/linux -o libMyImpOfFieldAccess.so FieldAccess.c
(Extraneous path information snipped for readability)
Exactly as given as the Solaris example in the tutorial, except with the -G option (which is not recognised by my compiler) omitted.

  • Exception "Cannot run program" while using ProcessBuilder class

    Hi Java-Folks,
    I try to start a program within a Java application using the ProcessBuilder class. This is the first time I use ProcessBuilder so I do not have any deep knowledge of it. Here is a snippet of my code:
    static void connectToHost(String Host) {
    ProcessBuilder pb = new ProcessBuilder("connect.exe"), Host);
    Map<String, String> env = pb.environment();
    env.put("SHELLWIDTH", "64");
    pb.directory(new File("C:\\MyProgram\\ExApp\\shell"));
    try (
    Process p = pb.start();
    } catch (IOException ex) {
    Logger.getLogger(ShellUtil.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
    }Using this method I get an IOException which says *"Cannot run program "connect.exe" (in directory "C:\MyProgram\ExApp\shell"): CreateProcess error=2, The system couldn't find the specified file"*
    Does anybody have an idea why this is not working? I tried to start another application like "notepad.exe" and that works fine. So it seems related to the fact
    that the program I want to start is only available in a certain directory and not via the PATH env-variable.
    I would appreciate any help or hint :-)
    Regards,
    Lemmy

    Okay I guess I misinterpreted the JavaDocs regarding the directory method. The exception message is a little bit confusing too, because it seems like Java tries to find the Application within the specified
    working directory.
    I tried to use the full path with the ProcessBuilder constructor and it looks like this variant is working. I still have some trouble with the application itself but I was able to start another program which is
    not in the PATH var, using the full path to the executable.
    Thanks for the help so far.
    Bye

  • Cannot run a servlet using Tomcat. Urgent

    I have a webapplication which uses some jsp's and servlets. The jsp pages work fine when I use
    http://hostname:8080/MyWebapp/Filename.jsp
    However, when I developed a java servlet and put the class file in WEB-INF/classes directory of my web application and tried to access it.
    I got a resource not found error.
    The strange thing is that when I put the file in the web-inf/classes folder of examples webapplication (which comes with Tomcat) I am able to run the servlet using
    http://hostname:8080/examples/servlet/Class file
    I am not sure what is wrong.
    Can someone help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Vamsi.

    It's predictable. The Servlet and JSP specifications mandate that you cannot directly access resources under WEB-INF directory. You have to set up servlet mapping configuration in your web.xml to specify how to access the resources, both Servlet and JSP, there.
    When you copied your files in a demo webapp of Tomcat, the web.xml of the demo app already set up the mapping like following for you. So you could use http://hostname:8080/examples/servlet/Class to visit the servlet.
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>invoker</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/servlet/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    The default setting since Tomcat 4.1 turned off servlet invoker in web.xml under conf directory. You can uncomment the above lines in this file to turn it on. Then you are able to visit your servlet without <servlet-mapping> configured using the following syntax,
    http://hostname:8080/<your_app_name>/servlet/<your_servlet_name>

  • Cannot run Disk Utility, use terminal, or boot from CD, all HDs locked

    I have a Mac Pro with 4 internal drives and 3 of them suddenly locked themselves. I can't run Disk Utility -- I get "underlying task reported failure on exit."
    I can't boot from Disk Warrior CD. I hold down the C key til the Apple logo appears, and then the computer just restarts into my regular system on my hard drive.
    I can run some apps from my startup drive, (obviously I can get on the internet). I downloaded Drive Genius but it will not install.
    I cannot use the terminal to try any of those fancy tricks I read about here.
    Here's what I get when I try Terminal:
    login: PAM Error (line 396): System error
    login: Could not determine audit condition
    [Process completed]
    And after that, I cannot type in the Terminal window.
    Man, this is crazy. 2 of my other internal drives have backup systems on them, but they will not show up as choices in the startup disk section of my system preferences - cuz they are locked.
    Any suggestions? I'm about to install a new drive and try and clone my working system on it and put Disk Warrior on it.

    DJWillis wrote:
    Wait, can I use Terminal from another computer in target mode?
    yes, but do you mean you can boot it in target mode but not from a DVD? this is very strange. try booting fro a DVD in a different way. reboot and hold "option" at the chime. this should boot you into startup disk manager. normally you can insert the DVd at the point and choose to boot from it.

  • Cannot run a podcast using localhost or Intranet internal webserver

    Hi,
    I am testing the usability of podcasts on our training webserver to provide alternative platforms for users to access training videos.
    If I create a podcast xml file with the videos on an external webserver and put the URL link to the xml file in the subscribe to a podcast box, it works fine.
    If I replicate the structure and put it on one of our Intranet webservers, using either the Domain name or the IP address, the Podcast cannot be found.
    Putting the URL directly into a Browsers address bar shows the title of the Podcast in the page but no link to the video, which is what I normally do to check connections.
    Does iTunes podcasting files not work on internal severs or connections using Localhost as the server name?

    Thanks both of you, I just figured it out! As you might expect, it was something stupid.
    Creating a new php file as you suggested worked, so that led me down a path to do a few more tests and realised the mysql database connection file that had been moved. My dad must have also moved that when he renamed the sites folder -- didn't tell me about that one!!
    thanks again for the help

  • How to run servlet by using main?

    How can I use main to run servlet?
    I cannot put request and response object into doGet(request, response) method
    I want this because I want to run this servlet daily and I plan to put it in cron job

    Hi
    Perhaps you cannot run servlet without using browser. But you can make that program as an application in order to run in Dos or Unix shell.
    But still you can run servlet without using browser How?
    You can debug servlets with the same jdb commands you use to debug an applet or an application. The JavaTM Servlet Development Kit (JSDK) provides a standalone program
    called servletrunner that lets you run a servlet without a web browser. On most systems, this program simply runs the java sun.servlet.http.HttpServer command. You
    can, therefore, start a jdb session with the HttpServer class.
    A key point to remember when debugging servlets is that Java Web server and servletrunner achieve servlet loading and unloading by not including the servlets directory on
    the CLASSPATH. This means the servlets are loaded using a custom classloader and not the default system classloader.
    Running servletrunner in Debug Mode
    Running Java Web ServerTM in Debug Mode
    Running servletrunner in Debug Mode
    In this example, the servlets examples directory is included on the CLASSPATH. You can configure the CLASSPATH for debug mode as follows:
    Unix
    $ export CLASSPATH=./lib/jsdk.jar:./examples:$CLASSPATH
    Windows
    $ set CLASSPATH=lib\jsdk.jar;examples;%classpath%
    To start the servletrunner program you can either run the supplied startup script called servletrunner or just supply the servletrunner classes as a parameter to jdb. This
    example uses the parameter to servletrunner.
    $ jdb sun.servlet.http.HttpServer
    Initializing jdb...
    0xee2fa2f8:class(sun.servlet.http.HttpServer)
    > stop in SnoopServlet.doGet
    Breakpoint set in SnoopServlet.doGet
    > run
    run sun.servlet.http.HttpServer
    running ...
    main[1] servletrunner starting with settings:
    port = 8080
    backlog = 50
    max handlers = 100
    timeout = 5000
    servlet dir = ./examples
    document dir = ./examples
    servlet propfile = ./examples/servlet.properties
    To run SnoopServlet in debug mode, enter the following URL in a browser where yourmachine is the machine where you started servlet runner and 8080 is the port number
    displayed in the settings output.
    http://yourmachine:8080/servlet/SnoopServlet
    In this example jdb stops at the first line of the servlet's doGet method. The browser will wait for a response from your servlet until a timeout is reached.
    main[1] SnoopServlet: init
    Breakpoint hit: SnoopServlet.doGet (SnoopServlet:45)
    Thread-105[1]
    We can use the list command to work out where jdb has stopped in the source.

    43 PrintWriter out;

    49 out.println("<head>

    The servlet can continue using the cont command.

    Running Java Web Server in Debug Mode
    The JSDK release does not contain classes available in the Java Web server and it also has its own special servlet configuration. If you cannot run your servlet from
    servletrunner, then the other option is to run the Java Web server in debug mode.
    To do this add the -debug flag for the first parameter after the java program. For example in the script bin/js change the JAVA line to look like the following. In releases prior
    to the Java 2 platform release, you will also need to change the program pointed to by the variable $JAVA to java_g instead of java.
    Before:
    exec $JAVA $THREADS $JITCOMPILER $COMPILER $MS $MX \
    After:
    exec $JAVA -debug $THREADS $JITCOMPILER
    $COMPILER $MS $MX \
    Here is how to remotely connect to the Java Web Server. The agent password is generated on the standard output from the Java Web Server so it can be redirected into a file
    somewhere. You can find out where by checking the Java Web Server startup scripts.
    jdb -host localhost -password <the agent password>
    The servlets are loaded by a separate classloader if they are contained in the servlets directory, which is not on the CLASSPATH used when starting the Java Web server.
    Unfortunately, when debugging remotely with jdb, you cannot control the custom classloader and request it to load the servlet, so you have to either include the servlets
    directory on the CLASSPATH for debugging or load the servlet by requesting it through a web browser and then placing a breakpoint once the servlet has run.
    In this next example, the jdc.WebServer.PasswordServlet is included on the CLASSPATH when Java Web server starts. The example sets a breakpoint to stop in the service
    method of this servlet, which is the main processing method of this servlet.
    The Java Web Server standard output produces this message, which lets you proceed with the remote jdb session:
    Agent password=3yg23k
    $ jdb -host localhost -password 3yg23k
    Initializing jdb...
    > stop in jdc.WebServer.PasswordServlet:service
    Breakpoint set in jdc.WebServer.PasswordServlet.service
    > stop
    Current breakpoints set:
    jdc.WebServer.PasswordServlet:111
    The second stop lists the current breakpoints in this session and shows the line number where the breakpoint is set. You can now call the servlet through your HTML page. In
    this example, the servlet is run as a POST operation
    <FORM METHOD="post" action="/servlet/PasswordServlet">
    <INPUT TYPE=TEXT SIZE=15 Name="user" Value="">
    <INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT Name="Submit" Value="Submit">
    </FORM>
    You get control of the Java Web Server thread when the breakpoint is reached, and you can continue debugging using the same techniques as used in the Remote Debugging
    section.
    Breakpoint hit: jdc.WebServer.PasswordServlet.service
    (PasswordServlet:111) webpageservice Handler[1] where
    [1] jdc.WebServer.PasswordServlet.service
    (PasswordServlet:111)

    [3] com.sun.server.ServletState.callService

    (ServletManager:940)
    [5] com.sun.server.http.InvokerServlet.service
    (InvokerServlet:101)
    A common problem when using the Java WebServer and other servlet environments is that Exceptions are thrown but are caught and handled outside the scope of your servlet.
    The catch command allows you to trap all these exceptions.
    webpageservice Handler[1] catch java.io.IOException
    webpageservice Handler[1]
    Exception: java.io.FileNotFoundException

    at com.sun.server.HandlerThread.run(
    HandlerThread.java:154)
    This simple example was generated when the file was not found, but this technique can be used for problems with posted data. Remember to use cont to allow the web server
    to proceed. To clear this trap use the ignore command.
    webpageservice Handler[1] ignore java.io.IOException
    webpageservice Handler[1] catch
    webpageservice Handler[1]
    I hope this will help you.

    The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a later version installed.

    If the problem is with a site that is hosted using MOVEit DMZ by Ipswitch, please notify the site owner of the issue and ask them to apply the patch that is available on the support site to resolve the issue.
    This is a better resolution than downgrading your version of Java that was updated due to security issues.

    I have Macromedia Fireworks 3.0 and the install process doesn´t run! After the installation the message is: fireworks cannot run. the resource files are missing or damaged. I use Windows 8.1. Antworten auf Deutsch wären super!

    As far as I know there is no download resource for older Macromedia programs and it is highly unlikely that one as old as version 3 of Fireworks will be able to work on a Windows 8.1 system.  I was unable to get a Studio 8 version installation on a Vista system, and likely even an XP system (cannot remember that far back).

  • "Xcode cannot run using the selected device" for no apparent reason.

    EDIT: It was just because I hadn't told Xcode to use my iPhone for development... I thought I had already done that. I also had to wait a few minutes after enabling it for development for it to actually work.
    I'm using Xcode 5 and an iPhone 5 for development. I made an app ID with the ID "com.myname.agreementfinder". Then I made a development provisioning profile linked to that app ID. In my developer provisioning profile dashboard, it clearly says that the app ID is "com.myname.agreementfinder". I downloaded the provisioning profile and put it on my iPhone using the Xcode organizer, no problems. So now I have a profile in my organizer that has the app identifier "U2M9******.com.myname.agreementfinder" (part of it censored). Not sure what that weird number at the beginning is, but my other profiles have one too.
    I have a project with the bundle identifier "com.myname.agreementfinder" and deployment target iOS 7.0 on iPhone, so it should work with that, right? Actually, the project was renamed from "FBFun". Well Xcode keeps saying that it can't run it on there because "No provisioned iOS devices are available with a compatible iOS version." I wish it would say which, invalid version or no provisioning profile
    How should I fix this? It seems like everything is already fine, yet it won't work. Could it be that renaming the project caused problems?

    I did. I did "Product -> Clean", it replied : "Clean vog_x20_new: Succeeded" and then I did "Product -> Build", and it replied "Build vog_x20_new: Succeeded".
    Ok, so I may have misunderstood my own problem. It's not a compilation problem. But, I still have the same message when I try to run the program (i.e. "Xcode cannot run using the selected destination").
    So it seems that I can build the project but I cannot run it.
    Here is a screenshot of the error windows
    So what should I do next ?
    Thanks for you attention and help.

  • Application crashes when using JNI with Jdk 1,2, 1.3 and 1.4

    Hi!
    I have this application that has a GUI written in Java and a file parser written in C. JNI is used to connect these parts together. The problem is that the application only works when I am using jdk 1.1.8 but not when using jdk1.2, jdk1.3 or jdk1.4. I am running the application on a Solaris 8 machine.
    I have not written the application myself but I am going to be working with it from now on. But I have today little knowledge with JNI and I have tried different approaches to solve the problem. For example I have tried to used DDD together with GDB to find out what the problem is but with no luck. When I run the application using jdk1.4 I get the following error when the JVM crashes:

    From this information I think that the problem should be in the native method setDebug. But I have tried to set a breakpoint at the beginning of that function in the C part but with no luck. The application crashes before it reaches that position in the C file.
    What could possibly go wrong between the setDebug function in the C part and the function call in the Java part?
    When using GDB, GDB cannot figure out what is wrong it just returns a hex address, no function name.
    I would really appreciate some help. I have tried everything that I can come up with!
    Best regards
    Lars

    I have figured out that the application fails on its first call to the native methods.
    So I have this Bitmap class that contains all the native calls and it is defined shortly as follow:
    public class Bitmap {
    static {
    System.loadLibrary("BitmapImpl");
    native void setDebug(int debuglevel, int statistics);
    There are many more native methods defined in Bitmap, but I only show the setDebug method because that is the first one that is executed and also the one that immediately fails.
    My setDebug C function is defined as follow in BitmapImpl.c
    #include <time.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <limits.h>
    #include <fcntl.h>
    #include <jni.h>
    #include <math.h>
    #include <errno.h>
    #include "Bitmap.h"
    #include "data.h"
    jint debug = 0;
    jint statistics = 1;
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Bitmap_setDebug
    (JNIEnv *jenv, jobject jo, jint d, jint s)
    debug = d;
    statistics = s;
    My libBitmapImpl.so file is compiled using the following Makefile and using GNU gcc:
    JAVAPATH=$(JAVAINCLUDEPATH)
    LMACRO=-D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DSOLARIS
    CSOURCE=BitmapImpl.c
    all:
    gcc -O3 -G $(LMACRO) -I$(JAVAPATH) -I$(JAVAPATH)/solaris \
    $(CSOURCE) -o libBitmapImpl.so
    It is still a total mystory why the application fails. I have tried it on a RedHat Linux machine and there it works fine. But not on Solaris. Only if I use the jdk1.1.8 but not a later one.
    Would really appreiciate some help!
    Best regards
