Cannot submit web filing form using acroread version 9.4.2 02/11/2011

Hello there.
I am running Fedora14 fully updated.
If I complete the interactive pdf form supplied by  Companies House in the United Kingdom I get the following error message.
SSL Error!!!. Please install the CA certificate(s) for SSL communication.
If certificate resides on local disk, try "acroread -installCertificate [-PEM|
-DER] [pathname]" on tyhe command line.
If certificate resides on the server, try "acroread -installCertificate ewf.companieshouse.gov.uk 443" on command line.
So checked I the firewall settings.

Which looked ok to my inexperienced glance.
So I tried a resubmission.
I got the first error dialog again, followed by a second which said:
An error occurred during the submit process. Cannot process response due to unknown content type.
Can anybody here help me with this at all?
It would be a real boon to all of Britains UNIX users if anyone could suggest a way forward- as it would appear that the mandated web filing process
is preventing all UNIX and Linux users from filing their compulsory company returns online..
Thankyou.

I wish to reiterate anonym0u5 concerns for this problem, but it could be a problem with Companies House.
I did
acroread -installCertificate -PEM ewf.companieshouse.gov.uk
acroread -installCertificate -PEM UTN-USERFirst-Hardware
acroread -installCertificate -PEM Digi-Sign\ CA\ Digi-SSL\ Xp
acroread -installCertificate -PEM Builtin\ Object\ Token\:AddTrust\ External\ Root
after having clicked the padlock at the top in Chrome and downloaded the certificates. Note the slight difference in file name.
then restarting acroread I get the above (again). So I stop it and do as it says:
acroread -installCertificate xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk 443
Unfortunately:
The problem still persists. I have written to Companies House:
Filling in my CT600 online and taking advantage of the ability to submit accounts to Companies House, I put in my company number and authentication code but then am presented by the following:
so I save the file, close Acrobat and do as it says:
nigel@p4dx2:~/Documents/accounts/nsl/certificates$ acroread -installCertificate xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk443
which eventually returns
Do you want to accept and install it (y|n)? [n] y
Certificate successfully installed.
Then I reopen the CT600 with Acrobat. But unfortunately the same thing happens. What digital certificate is needed? Where can I find it?
I will let this forum know of any response.

Norton Confidential cannot protect you while you use this version of Firefox. Phishing Protection requires Firefox 1.5 or later.”
Do you know what is causing this? This started when I updated to Firefox 16.0.2. Am I at risk?

You may find information on Norton's own forums about this.
I am not sure that any protection against phishing provided by Norton is going to be better than the protection that Firefox offers by default.
    * see http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/phishing-protection/
I can not recommend that you downgrade to an earlier unsupported and insecure version of Firefox, because that WILL increase the security risks.

  • Submit Web Dynpro form to external URL

Is there a way to submit a Web Dynpro form to an external url using the POST method?
I am able to use the onExit plug to pass a URL and submit query string parameters to the external url.  My concern with this solution though is that the query string has length limits in different browsers (IE 2048 chars, etc.).
    Any help/direction would be great.

    Hi
You can create a html page as a web resource and write an active script in it so that it submits itself.
I am not sure if it will work. But give it a try.
         StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
         sb.append("<html>");
         sb.append("<head>");
         sb.append("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">");

Similarly append body of the form

  • How can recipients submit completed PDF forms using a MAC?

We have created fillable PDF forms using LiveCycle Designer 8.0.  They include
submit buttons that are set to submit the completed forms as PDFs.  Rights have been extended for Adobe Reader users.  They work great when the recipient is using a PC, but when they are using a MAC we have a number of problems:
    1) the Print and Submit buttons do not work
    2) when the recipient saves and e-mails the file manually, the data they entered is only visible when you click on that field
Help!  How can our MAC recipients submit their completed form as a PDF that displays all of the data!
    Thanks!

Thanks Niall.  This information proved really helpful in confirming the problem.  We ran some tests and the problem does seem to only occur when MAC recipients are using Preview.
We recieved this link from Adobe, which provides a solution if you have access to all the recipients:

    Hello Annabelle Guittard,
If you have text in the mail form and that text is not W3C compliant then in this case you cannot upload the images
because of syntax error in your html coding.
So my suggestion is - if you have text in your mailform then make the html coding of that text W3C compliant and then
    try to upload the image.
    Hope this helps.

This occurs only when my composition is present & the functionality returns when another ad is displayed (either a Flash ad or a gif). It happens in Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 m, Chrome Version 33.0.1738.0 canary & IE 11.
I had edited my Edge Animate files to use the Adobe CDN option & to point to another server (mine) so only the html file was needed to be placed in the ad rotator & on the host's server. I now have edited them again to include the Google CDN locations for version jquery 1.10.2 (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js). I am waiting for the host site to try this updated html file. When I visit just this new page & the old one that pointed to 1.7.1 for that matter, it works fine.
Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my message.

  • "This form cannot be opened in a web browser. to open this form use microsoft infopath" while adding a new Approval - Sharepoint 2010 and Publishing Approval workflow.

I am trying to add a new workflow to a document library with the below mentioned settings and getting error saying "This form cannot be opened in a web browser. to open this form use microsoft infopath" while adding a new Approval - Sharepoint
2010 and  Publishing Approval workflow" . For your information the I have checked the server default option to open in browser.
    Versioning Settings.

This is quiet urgent issue . Any help would be really helpful.. Thanks..

    Hi Marlene,
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
But I am not creating a custom workflow in designer as Laura has mentioned. I am instead trying to create a new Out of the box Approval Workflow and I get the error mentioned above.
As it works in other environment, I tried figuring out the possible differences which can lead to this error.
Today I found one difference which is there are no form Templates within Infopath Configurations in Central Admin. Now I am trying to figure out what makes this form templates to be added to the template gallery.

  • Submit form using web based email service

I regularly get sent forms by my printers which I fill in to approve print jobs. There's a submit button the forms which has always nicely opened up Mail (Mac OS X) in order to send a data file that the sender can read. However, I've just recently started using a different email client (Postbox) and I get this error from Adobe Acrobat...
The SendMail doesn't know how to talk to your default mail client.  Please select a different mail application to use.
I can't find a way to change the settings though. I used to be given the option between sending via a desktop or web based email service but a while ago I ticked the box to 'not show this message again'.
Anyone got any ideas how I can maybe use Gmail or similar to send these forms?
    Cheers,
    Jon

    Dear Frances,
The "Submit by Email" button enables to submit your form data in two modes.
    1) Default Email Application (MS Outlook)
    2) Use Webmail
You can use option 2 to submit form data through Webmail.
    Thanks,

  • Who can use Web Service Forms??

Just wondering, where do I find the specs for who can submit my Web Service forms. So far Reader 7 and Acrobat Standard 6 cannot use my Designer 7 web service forms (even after saving as Acrobat6 compatible static forms)
My forms are not dynamic, the formaatting and layout do not change only the fields, so I am assuming my forms are static.
    TIA
    -Tim

    Hi Tim:
"I am of the opinion that the Reader Extensions should be included with Live Cycle Designer/Acrobat "Professional". Many people will purchase with the expectation that they can create an interactive form, and have it be universally accessible because it is .pdf. "
Yes, that's the opinion of many people. Unfortunately, many large businesses are still willing to pay for that functionality, so its unlikley that all the RE functionality will be built into future versions of Acrobat. However, Acrobat 7 does have some Reader Extensions in it - you can enable people to comment and review on documents using the free Reader tool, and Acrobat 8 expands on this by allowing Reader users to save form data locally (something that was available only in Reader Extensions).
"There is mush attention paid to the capabilities of designer, and the full features with the purchase of Acrobat "Professional" but in reality they require anyone you send it to to have also spent a nice chunk of change for a compatible version of Acrobat (even though they may have already spent tens of thousands of dollars on Acrobat 6 site license, which is our situation). "
Yes, but I'm not sure this is different from many other companies, who require that the client purchase expensive software in order to access their documents.
"Is this Reader Extension capability included in Acrobat "Professional" 8? We (my department) purchased a full retail single license of "Professional" 7 this month, now I can only find information on Acrobat 8. As far as I know there was no caveat that the great feature filled forms that we were promised would only be compatible with the latest versions of the pricey Acrobat product. "
There are many functions that Reader Extensions provides - allowing Reader users to access a web service is one of them, as is allowing Reader users to comment and review, as is allowing Reader users to save form data locally. The upcoming release of Acrobat 8 does not provide the ability to Reader enable a form to access a web service, but it does provide the ability for Reader users to comment and review and save form data locally.
I hope this helps. I'll pass along this information to the Designer Product Manager as feedback.

  • Sharepoint 2010, InfoPath 2010 with Custom Workflow. Error Message: InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while form was submitted...

I have created an InfoPath form that submits to a Sharepoint library with custom workflow attached. The workflow is initiated when the user submits the form. An email is sent to the supervisor who clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and approved
the form via the emailed form. Then, based on certain criteria the form is either emailed to the VP or the workflow is complete. The VP is sent an email and clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and sumbits the form via the emailed form. This is
how I would like it to work. The reality is, the form submits and is emailed to the supervisor and the supervisor is able to approve but when the form is sumbitted I get an error. The error is "InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while
this form was being submitted. The form cannot be submitted to the following location: <URL> The file <URL> is checked out for editing by <me> The operation completed successfully." The operation did not complete successfully and it
is not checked out. I have read in previous posts that the file is locked. Since I am in the testing faze of the project there is no one else using the form. I have waited 24 hours and the lock has not been released. Please help!!! My deadline is growing short.

I ran into your post while having a similar issue.  I don't have a 'full' fix for you, but I noticed at least in our case if you made sure you opened the Infopath form through the browser instead of the client Infopath program (use the drop-down menu
and open in browser) the error doesn't occur.  Hope that helps some....
