Cannot write reply email: help!

When I click on "Reply" to a message, the content is blank and I cannot write in it whereas I could see the original message. This has happened the past couple of days.
Also, when I tab from 'To:' to the message, the tab ends at the 'Signature' drop-down then nothing. I cannot write a reply not see the original message.
Also, recently, I have been getting a message while viewing some emails that "the message has not been downloaded from the server. Take it online" when it is online. I have to create a new mailbox then drag all emails into it, deleting the old mailbox. Then I rebuild and can see the messages and function as normal.

The main problem you mention is probably caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption, but it looks like you could have some filesystem corruption as well, so be sure to verify/repair the disk with Disk Utility first (not just permissions), as described in the second article below.

It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:

As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
1. Quit all applications.
2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
3. Click Maintenance. In the Reset section, check LaunchServices database.
4. You may uncheck any other pre-checked options if you wish.
5. Click the Execute button.
6. Restart the computer.

Cannot send/reply email on Mac and iPhone

SOMETIMES I cannot send or reply emails on my Mac, not all the time though. Went to Apple Store where a Genius helped me reset my mail app but turning it off and back on again, it worked there and then but when I got home, I'm still getting the below same message when I try to send or reply sometimes:
"Connections to the server "p08-smtp.mail.me.com" on the default ports times out.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Layer to leave the message in your Outbox until if can be sent."
This happens on my iPhone as well. Sometimes when I reply to someone's email it'd just sit in the Outbox for more then a day despite numerous attempts to resend. In the end I could only delete it from Outbox and send a new one again. I tried to find answers online without luck, can someone please help?
Note that if I send/reply on iCloud website, everything works perfectly!

When I click on NEW in mail nothing happens so I cannot write any emails.

I am running Firefox4 Beta7 and all was well to start with. Now when I wish to write an email I cannot access the new write email page.

New iphone 5s but I cannot write new emails

I can receive emails on my hotmail account and on my work account but I cannot reply or forward any of them nor can I write a new email

You seem to have more than one thing going on as far as mail is concerned. As far as work mail not sending, you are correct in saying that it has something to do with the SMTP server, which is the part that sends mail. Depending on what kind of error message you see when you attempt to send will determine what kind of troubleshooting needs to be done. As far as the other, I suggest that you first force closed the mail app. See this iOS: Force an app to close
As far as after that, go ahead and do a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
After that, try opening the Mail app again and see if you can create a mail message. If not, then the next step is to restore from backup. Follow whatever instructions are appropriate. iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If the Restore from backup does not work, then you will need to restore the device as new. See this. Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

I cannot write an email address in contacts and have it come up when I choose to add it to a Send

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

I am able to read my emails (AOL), but unable to reply,forward and save or write new emails. Works OK in IE.

When trying to create an new email, I can enter information in the "To" and "Subject" boxes but in not the "Message" box.
Once I have read an email, If I click on "Reply" or "Forward", a new email form opens but with all boxes blank and again, I cannot write in the message box.

I synced my work Iphone to my families Itunes account at home and now cannot connect to email, apps store, internet, etc. I can still call and text, but that's it. Please help.
I could connect before syncing. I restarted the phone. The issue started right after connecting syncing to my computer.

Cannot originate, reply to or forward email with attachment

A couple weeks ago something happened with Mail on my G5 PowerMac, such that emails received with attachments cannot be replied to or forwarded and attachments cannot be added to a newly created email.
When attempting to forward or reply to Emails received with attachments, 1/2 the time a forward or reply message opens but all the text and attachments are stripped out and no new text can be added or attachments attached. The other 1/2 of the time a forward or reply message doesn't even open, when clicking their respective buttons or selecting from the pop-out menu.
When creating a new email no files of any type can be attached, period.
I do NOT have any of these attachment problems with the G4 PowerBook Mail application. I have examined the Preferences closely and they appear to be the same on both machines.
Per another tip on the forum I downloaded and ran the OnyX application, in every possible configuration (including resetting the Launch Services Database) but the problem is still present.

The something that happened could have been file corruption. Try running Disk Utility's First Aid fixes to make sure your disk structure & file permissions are OK.
Also, if this is not the main admin account on the Mac, check System Preferences > Accounts > Parental Controls to make sure that nothing is prohibited that would impact Mail.

Iphone 4S writing emails : Have to hold 'write' icon and then 'draft' page opens. Will not open 'New message' page and therefore cannot write emails from my 'phone. Anybody any ideas???

All set up and working - except.......
when I try to write an email [via wifi], tapping the 'write' icon does not work and I have to hold it. Then the 'DRAFT' page appears, not 'NEW MESSAGE'.
So cannot write emails from my 'phone.

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
Kep trying.

By the sounds of it you have linked Email Accounts, if so this means that you will both recieve the majority of the same Emails, and if you do and you read them on your account (which is linked with your husbands) then they will appear to read on the both of them because they are linked. With the majority of Email providers these days they're Emails are (simplified) in the cloud you could say, meaning that if you read or delete shared Emails then it will do the same on both accounts rather than just the yours.
I hope all that made sense, sorry that I couldn't be of anymore assistance.. If you havent already try googling your problem - you may find some answers on there

It's a bug striking in long documents.
Select a word somewhere higher in the page then use the arrows to reach the wanted insertion point.

for the moment you can Forcequit, as Eustace said.
Really quit a program you do by clicking the menu bar of the program where its name is, on the bottom you see "Quit (appname)"; when it is in the Dock, rightclick it in the Dock and choose "Quit".
Now about yout attachment: it does not matter what you did to it and where you moved it, as long as Preview is still open it doesn't let it go.
