Canon utilities image transfer utility has stopped working
My Win7 Pro 64-bit computer give me the mesage, "Canon utilities image transfer utility has stopped working". It appears I need this utility to automatically download pics from the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY. The message comes with the following details. Can you help me get this working? I have CameraWindow installed and it works.

I called Canon support. Did email support, too. Both suggested uninstall/reinstall, which was no help. Other than that they had no clue. Phone support thought it might be blocked by Norton Security Suite. I turned off the firewall and AV protection and Image Transfer Utility (ITU) still won't start. Still looking. Will post back here if I find a solution.

Hello.
I'm on windows Server 2012 R2.
I'm using DISM.exe to deploy .NET 3.5 framework from the commandline.
When I enter my command I get this error in a popup window:

Portege R500 - fingerprint utility has stopped working
I have a Portege R500 laptop. The fingerprint utility has stopped working. First (perhaps after an update of the True Suite Acess Manager was installed a few months ago) it failed to work on login but did work for other passwords.
Now it doesn't work at all. If I try to register fingerprints it tells me that it has failed to locate the sensor. I have reinstalled the AES1610 driver and the TrueSuite access manager, but it makes no difference.
In Device Manager it says that the device is working. I have looked at various threads on this without seeing anything that works.Hmm Maybe you should try to clean the registry after the fingerprint software has been uninstalled.
In your case I would follow this:
- uninstall the fingerprint software and delete the fingerprint device from the device manager.
- reboot the notebook
- clean the registry using the free tool called CCleaner
- reboot once again and install the software and driver
- reboot once again and test the fingerprint functionality

Adobe License utility has stopped working
Every time I launch a CC program a window pops up saying, "ADOBE LICENSE HAS STOPPED WORKING".
The programs all work but some of the plugins have to have serial numbers installed again, whilst some are not working at all.Hello

Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. Sometimes the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.

Archive Utility has stopped working
Hi Folks,
Any idea how to reinstall this program? It hass topped working - I double-click on a .zip,for example, and Archive Utility opens up - but just hangs in what appears to be a state of starting the decompression process. Force Quit is my only option. I'd like to get this working (and not replace it with something else). Is there a preference file or something that can be tossed? Can I reinstall it?
Thanks.Something to try, if you are still being plagued by this ... open up the Activity Monitor and check the System Memory pie chart ... if there's no free memory remaining, click on either the Real Mem or Virtual Mem column headings, to sort it by memory use, and see if there's anything gobbnling up all your free memory.
In my case, it was the Dashboard, and I had to empty it of widgets to get it to stop grabbing memory "to infinity and beyond". I have no clue as to how or if that was connected to the Archive Utility problem, but I was unable to have a single active widget (or any kind) until I repaired permissions and restarted. Then I could add widgets, and the Archive Utility coincidentally began working again.
Interestingly enough, it was only in the de-compressing of files that my Archive Utility was bonkers. It could compress files all day long without trouble.
As I said, I have no clue as to what the interaction could be -- or even if there was one -- between the Dashboard, Archive Utility and the permission repairs, that lead to all of these things bing cleared up. But looking at the Activity monitor is an easy way to begin to track it down, or at least look for other things that have run off the rails .... -
What does this mean: "Runner utility has stopped working"
I tried to download something from Softpedia. It was an exe file but I trusted the bells and whistles. After that, Firefox changed. My upper right search bar changed to something completely different. But I got, two times, this error message, which weirdly enough even Google doesn't seem to have encountered, it doesn't Google up as such.

Sometimes third party downloads are not always the best. However this error message sounds like something that may come from a function called Utility Runner. This is not an error that I have seen in Firefox before.
However in order to get the search bar back it is possible to click on the Firefox Menu and click on "Customize". From this menu you can drag and drop the search bar back to the toolbar.
As for the utility, please also run a malware check.

Transfer script for private site has stopped working
We had split our vintage iTunes U site into a new Public site - keeping the original access-controlled content as a 'private' site - a few months ago. We had a transfer script in place for the original site, which was used to direct users to course materials with specific credentials supplied to control access. The transfer script has stopped working at some point in recent weeks - we hadn't modified it for a quite a while, so I'm guessing that it has stopped working due to some change in the destination url. I couldn't find documentation indicating any changes to the transfer script so that it finds the original site rather than the new Public site - the site url in the script is "https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/scu.edu", which will open the new public site. If anyone has a suggestion for what we might try to get the script working again, it would be much appreciated.
We're not including the destination variable in the form post that calls our cgi script. I can't get to the Edit Site Settings window in the original iTunes U store - we use this transfer script to handle the admin access, and it isn't working for that either. I've been testing a very simple version of this Perl script from a fresh copy of the sample files collection, and with debugging enabled it looks like it is getting everything except for a current time - it tells me that the time is valid, but is "too far in the past" and so it doesn't include the otherwise valid identity and credential values. I'm checking with our system administrators to verify that our server's time is accurate. Thanks for the follow-up response.

My Canon Pixma iP8500 printer has stopped working with Mavericks
Hi, my Canon Pixma iP8500 printer has stopped working in the past few days and I made no alterations that could explain why this might happen. I am using OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks on a Mac Pro desktop computer. I can print a test page when selecting it on my Canon Printer Utility from my desktop so it seems that there is contact between the computer and the printer but it will not print from iPhoto, Preview or Mail. When I select Print from any of these nothing happens and there is nothing on the Print List. I have checked the Printers & Scanners in my System Preferences and my Canon iP8500 is listed and highlighted as Idle Default and Share this printer is ticked. I have tried deleting this printer then adding it but it still will not print. I would appreciate any helpful suggestions bearing in mind that I am fairly elderly and have a limited knowledge of IT and some of the terminology.

Any devices that previously appeared in your Printer List and Fax List will need to be added again after resetting the printing system.

After taking days to upload elements 13 I am now having trouble even trying to import my images and videos into the program for editing. Each time I IMPORT files an error message comes up that says " ....has stopped working, we are looking for a solution to the problem and will notify you if a solution is found" I have not been able to edit ANYTHING or even drag files/images to the time line.... is it me? is my computer too slow? surely if it was, then Adobe elements 13 would not have installed in the first place? please someone help me sort this out as I have a deadline to make for a docco! thanks in advance Lyddy

Trying to get LiDE 110 scanner working on my laptop. I keep getting this message once scan is complete "canon mp navigator ex has stopped working" and then a corrupted pdf is saved - fresh install on windows 8.1 I have used most up to date drivers and software and tried these two "fixes" from an internet search on this topic (it seems to be a common problem that hasn't been addressed by Canon) - I'm on the verge of returning the scanner!! 1) Delete this file: C:\Users\<user name>\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\My Web Sites on MSN. We can see if there are files in a folder called TWAIN_32 other than those related to the printer that may be causing a conflict with the Quick Menu. If there are, we can temporarily remove the files to see if this will resolve the issue.
To move the non-Canon Twain files from the Twain_32 folder, please follow these steps:
1. Go to Computer / My Computer and locate the C: drive, then double-click on it to open.
2. Locate the WINDOWS folder, then double-click to open it.
3. Locate the TWAIN_32 folder, then double-click to open it.
4. Inside of the TWAIN_32 folder, you will see a folder for your printer as well as a WIATWAIN.DS file. If there are other files in that folder, you will want to move them to another location, preferably your Desktop by doing the following:
4-1. Click on each of the other items in the folder other than the the WIATWAIN.DS file and the folder for your printer to select them. You will want to hold the the CTRL key on your keyboard while selecting each of the items until all of the items except for the two referenced above are selected. Please be sure to leave the WIATWAIN.DS file and folder related to your printer inside of the TWAIN_32 folder.
4-2. With all of the items you want to move selected, please go to the EDIT menu and select the CUT option.
4-3. Go to your Desktop (main window that comes up when you start Windows with all of the icons on it) and right-click your mouse in any blank area, then choose the PASTE option. The items you selected from the TWAIN_32 folder should appear on the Desktop.
5. Try to launch the Quick Menu again.

Re: Pressing FN+F5 message: IGFXEXT module has stopped working
When i press Fn F5 i get the message IGFXEXT module has stopped working and i cannot change my monitor configuration. I briefly see the icons but when i cancel the error message they disappear.
I have downloaded and install ed the 09/10/08 Intel Driver from the Toshiba download.

The fact is that all drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in the right and defined order. Toshiba people do exactly the same and later made recovery image. For your own installation the principle is the same. All offered stuff on Toshiba support and download page should be installed following Installations Instructions document.

My time capsule has stopped working.
My time capsule has stopped working. I get following error message The backup disk image “/Volumes/Michael Campbell's Time Cap/iMac.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error -1). I tried everything including deleting all the data and starting again. It then works for a few back ups and then gives the error message. I have tried to repair the disk but that is grayed out.
Found this elsewhere so I will try it
Go to App folder
Open Utilities
Click on AirPort Utility
Highlight your Time Capsule
Go to Manual Setup
Click on Disks
Highlight your Time Capsule
Click on Disconnect All Users
Close AirPort Utility
Go to Systems Preferences
Click on Time Machine
Click on Select Disk
Find your Time Capsule and highlight it
Then click on USE BACKUP DISK.
Go to the Menu Bar and click on the Time Machine Icon
Click on Backup Now
It should work
