I was having the same problem. After reading a few threads, restore your Apple TV to its original factory settings (approximately 15-20 minutes) and try logging in again. It just worked perfect for me!

  • Connection to external display does not work under windows bootcamp, with a thunderbolt to vga adapter.

Hello guys, after searching a lot in the forum for an answer to this, I could not find a solution so this is the reason for this post.
I have a Macbook Pro (early 2011 I think) running MacOSX Lion and I have installed Windows 7 64-bit through bootcamp (version 4.0).
Everything works fine except that I cannot connect my external display through my thunderbolt-vga adapter.
The external monitor shows only the boot screen of windows (the one with the windows logo) and then, when I get into the login page it goes blank.
After reading the forum, I have done several things in order to fix this problem such as:
Restarting the macbook with the thunderbolt device connected to it.
Updated to the latest ATI drivers through bootcamp.
Removed the graphics driver and re-install it again.
I have tried to identify the external monitor through windows 'screen resolution' tool (attached photo).
    but still no luck.
Does anyone have any idea on what else I could do in order to fix this? By the way, I find it very frustrating that Apple does not have a stable solution to the problem with devices that are connected to the thunderbolt port.
    Thank you in advance

and here is the attached screenshot

  • Cant get a signal from thunderbolt port to HDMI

I cant make the thunderbolt to HDMI addapter work. Any one knows how to see the external screen?

You can see if the Mac recognizes the monitor in System Preferences > Displays.  There will be an "Arrangement" tab that appears when a second monitor is detected.  Options can be selected there.

  • Cant get ibook to send display through vga cable

i have a ibook with a broken screen and i have not used it for a year for that reason. i recently boght a vga cable so i could use a external display. but i can not figure out how to get it to work plzzzzzzzzzz help

    Hi shur,
Well like Rhonda says. Sometimes that tiny connector on the iBook can be problematic, check for dirt and such.
    When you say:
i have a ibook with a broken screen
Is the display cracked? no display, black? No backlight w/ a dim image?
If the 2nd what happened when it failed.
It would also help to know your exact model CPU speed and size.

  • I cant get Bootcamp 3.1 to work

    Here is EVERYTHING I have:
-Macbook Pro 17 Inch with OS X 10.6
    -Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
    Here is my problem:
To install Windows, I need Bootcamp to be able to make an NTFS partition (I believe its that), which is available with Bootcamp 3.1
Bootcamp 3.1 can only be installed onto Windows
I need bootcamp 3.1 to install windows to install Bootcamp 3.1...
What can I do to get out of this cycle? Preferably without having to spend money on an XP install disk that I would just get rid of anyways.

thanks, I got it installed, but I lost my disk of Snow Leopard a while ago and so I can only install from the Windows end the OS X 10.5 bootcamp stuff, I try installing Bootcamp 3.1 and it says it requires 3.0, but it wont read Snow Leopard from my thumb drive copy, do I need to burn it to a disk or is there a way I can download the run files for the windows end and get the compatibility drivers I need? I try and play a game and it says "No Direct3D device detected".

  • I cant get Bootcamp / XP to recognize my ATI HD 4850 in my imac Quad 27"?

new bootcamp partition, have a new install of XP, run the bootcamp updates but the display still won't update.  Tried all the display drivers on the Mac OS disc (Snow Leopard) without success.  Any ideas?

You need to use AMD Catalyst, even if you have to uninstall what Apple installed for graphic program and driver if you can't just update over.

  • Thunderbolt to VGA adapter in bootcamp only 640x480?

Just a few weeks ago I purchased a new MBP Retina for my new work laptop. I contantly go from Windows, to OS X to demo hardware to customers. Problem I am having, is that as soon as I connect the Thunderbolt to VGA adapter in Bootcamp on Windows7, it forces 640x480 and I dont get the option to change. The adapter runs fine in OS X.
Has any one else ran into thise issue? Pushing VGA in Windows is something I need to be able to do.
Also noticed that in OS X, I dont have the option of running 1280x800 as a resolution. Is there anyway to configure either the adapter or OS X to push this oddball resolutuon for our office projectors?
    Thanks
    Charles

I have this same problem, discovered today in front of customers, when hooking up to their VGA projector. The VGA adaptor did not work very well with OSX either so running Windows under Parallels did not work either. Back in the office, I experimented with our old VGA projector, same problem, but I could get OSX to display and thus Parallels.  Back on the Win 7 bootcamp, resolution is grayed out and set to 640x480, too small to do anything.  I tried another sugestion of updating the Nvidia driver in Windows, to the latest version but that did not help. The only other suggestion that worked for others is to get a USB3 to VGA adaptor.  Aparently Apple needs to update their bootcamp drivers for the mini display/thunderbolt port. So until that happens, perhaps the USB3 adaptor will be the way to go.  I'm going to order one now since I cannot find it in the local apple stores or Best Buy.

  • HT201335 Since I updated iOS on my iphon4s and iPad mini i cant get mirroring to work via vga cable

Since I updated iOS on my iphon4s and iPad mini i cant get mirroring via my vga-cabel to my smartboard projector to word anymore. I used to be able to swipe right twice to chose mirroring via my Apple cable. Why doesn't it work anymore?
All the threads I can find on the subject talks about using appletv but I need to connect via cable! It used to work (before ios7).
    Sincerely Bent F

The article from which the issue was posted clearly explains how to access AirPlay in iOS7.
Granted, what is being attempted has nothing to do with AirPlay or Mirroring.
The feature that you're looking for is in Control Center... assuming the cable actually works.  If it does not work, the feature will not be accessible.

  • Windows 7 Bootcamp and Thunderbolt to VGA Adapters for External Displays MacBook Pro i5?

Is it possible to connect an external moniter to a MacBook Pro using a Thunderbolt to VGA adapter in Windows 7 (professional)? I have tried and tried, when booting, both moniters (both laptop and external) show the "Starting Windows" page, but the external blacks out on the user selection screen. That gives me hope... is there a driver out there that will let me use the external display in Windows 7?
    MacBook Pro
    i5, 4gig, 750gig.
    Windows 7 Pro
    Mac OSX Lion
    LG Flatron Wide
DisplayPort to VGA adapter (not apple brand, purchased on eBay).
    Thanks.

You shouldn't require a driver.  I would try booting as usual, then plugging in your external display.  In windows, you can hit "command-P" to toggle between your external display options (mirror, extend, etc.).  Once you do that, you should see the new display show up.

  • I cant seem to get itunes to recognise my iphone. What am i doing wrong?

Have recently upgraded my PC and now cant get itunes to show my iPhone 4. Can anyone help me here?

  • I have just brought home a new ipad 2 and i cant get it to my itunes to recognise it, my pc was picking it up as a camera but i have stopped that .  I cant sync it with itunes

i have just bought a brand new ipad 2 and i cant get it to sync with itunes on my pc, running windows vista.  Tried all the stuff on the itunes diagnostics but still cant get itunes to pick it up.  Any ideas.

    Try both of these -
Connect your iPad to your computer
    Open My computer / Computer
    Locate the Apple camera icon
Right click on it and go to Properties
There should be a place to set what will happen each time the device is connected, set it to do nothing.
