What error messages are you getting? The videos are likely created with Flash, or another plug-in, which can't be played on the iPad.

I could not find a website issues community and this one was the closest I could find. If this needs to be moved to a different community, please do so.
I realize it's cross platforms, but web browsing should be the same for everyone, no matter what device is used.
I can watch Apple website videos just fine on Windows/Chrome browser (or IE, Firefox) but can't on Samsung Android/Chrome browser (also tried Firefox, Opera, Samsung browser).
Other websites embedded videos are working (i.e. youtube, vimeo, forums etc.) so far it is only the Apple website embedded videos that are not working.

I have been having weird performance issues with the videos on the apple website in particular. Often it will work the first time I open Safari but once I try to click the next one, it just does not work (not even movement on the progress bar).
I recently updated to QT 7.4 and it seems that based on my looking for a solution, it may be related to that but nothing seems to solve it. I know some people may recommend Firefox but it seems that as a minimum the Apple website videos should work on Safari!
Any suggestions?These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything that the net can throw at you: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
It is known to work in the great majority of cases with Safari 3.0.4, QT 7.3 or 7.4 and OS 10.4.11. (If you are running Leopard, ensure that all plug-ins have been updated for OS 10.5.2)
Assuming you already run Tiger versions OS 10.4.9 or above (this has not yet been verified with Leopard) and have Quicktime 7.2 or above, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
RealPlayer 10 for Mac from http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html?platform2=Mac%20OS%20X&product= RealPlayer%2010&proc=g3&lang=&show_list=0&src=macjack
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)

You should read this support page http://perian.org/#support in case you need to delete older codecs.
Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.)
In earlier versions than QT 7.1.3 in Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
You should also ensure, if you are running Tiger 10.4.11 or Leopard, that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2007-009.1.1, which also deals with the Quicktime/Flash issues you may have experienced, such as the '?'. What happened was that both Quicktime as well as Adobe FlashPlayer tried to play the Flash video at the same time. This no longer happens. (N.B. Security Update 2007-009 1.1 requires both a restart and a permission repair.)
If you get problems with viewing video on a website try moving this file to your Desktop:
Hard drive/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
and then restarting Safari. If all now works, you can trash that file.
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them) to enable Java.
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz, and that you have selected 'Built in Audio'.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
You should also consider having the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not. -

It's called a dock connector, not a USB port.
i found a product in the online store, that i guess you place the ipod mini on, and it gives you up to 20 or so more hours of time but then it says that you have to have a firewire port or cable?
What is it? The firewire port is on the computer, not the iPod.
If the original battery is going bad, the first thing to do is get that sorted out. -

Brand new MB Air: Apple website videos won't play
Just brought home a brand new 13" MacBook Air. Went to the Apple website and couldn't play any videos. Nothing happens. YouTube videos play fine, and the Apple Trailers website plays fine. It's just apple.com that won't play videos.
There are no extensions in Safari (so DivX isn't the problem). QuickTime 10 is installed. It's fresh out of the box. Haven't changed a thing. Anyone have any idea what we need to do to get videos playing from the Apple website?
Thnks in advance ...UPDATE - we went to the nearest Apple Store today, and played with 6 different MacBook Airs, and found this problem on FOUR of them. They couldn't play the videos on the Apple website. This stumped the sales staff until one of them went into Safari's File menu, selected "Reset Safari", then re-booted ... and it worked!
Came home, did the same thing ... it worked.
So now my question is: why does "Reset Safari" clear this up? -

It's not the website that's the issue.
If your Mac is running v10.6.8 Snow Leopard, that OS X is outdated as well as the version of Safari that runs on v10.6.8.

See if your Mac can upgrade to Mavericks > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
That would also install a newer version of Safari so you can view the Apple product videos.

I have a Max OSx desktop and the other day Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 appeared on my screen so not knowing any better, I downloaded it with no luck.
After that, I went back to playing my website game- Squircircle jigsaw puzzle and a tiny box appeared saying I was 'missing plug in'. What can I do about this?

Cant play purchased itunes videos on 5k iMac HDCP error
After a few days of smooth sailing with my brand new 5k retina iMac I tried watching some purchased tv shows on itunes and I get this instead "THE SELECTED VIDEO WILL NOT PLAY ON YOUR DISPLAY This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)". I was able to watch episodes yesterday with no issue. There are no external monitors connected. I'm on my usual secure wireless network. I'm running version 12.1.2.27 of itunes. I have tried restarting the system, and itunes but the issue persists. Access to the file is not the issue as the files do download and start to play anywhere on the timeline but get cut off after 3 seconds or so by the error message. I have not changed the display settings since unboxing and initial setup. The screen is at full resolution just like it was when itunes was playing shows and not giving me this error message.
Any one else got this issue?

Cant play my MOD video clips no matter what i try..
Last year i was making a dvd out of my home clips and got a lot of help to convert the files so i was able to do so on this imac. I had got a JVC Hard Drive video camera so thats what caused the problems. Anyway it has been sooo long since i did that(last july) that now i cant remember how i did it. I have tried to change the file types and open it in several things including the mpstreamclip thing. There are a couple of clips i hadnt got around to converting, maybe i forgot them, whatever happened, im desperate to watch them and its bugging me so much that i cant work it out!!!

I know it's time consuming but apparently you are already aware that your JVC camcorder isn't really supported by the iMovie nor iDVD6. You'd be far better off with a minidv camcorder (that records to mini dv tape) and supports a firewire /i.Link connection.
