Capacity planning/ automatic rescheduling

Dear experts,
I am working on capacity scenario. I have 4 operations in routing. My FG is MPS material with mrp type M1. I have run MD41 and then despatched all 4 operations and converted planned order into prod. order.
After that i have confirmed 1st operation. It took more time than planned. Now what I am expecting is system should reschedule next three operations accordingly. But it is not behaving that way.
What settings are necessary for this requirements?
Please guide me in this aspect
Regards,
Sameer

Hi,
Use CM31. Input the Order for which you need thr Production dates to be adjusted as per the change in Confirmation dates.
Now system lists the Sequence of operations/ Work center details carried out for that order.
Select the First Operation which is confirmed, with new dates. Press "Dispatch" icon. Now the first opeartion will be dispatched to the new dates which was confirmed. Automatically, all the other remaining operations will be changed to the new dates depending on the confirmed dates.
As this has to done individually in CM31, it is not possible by the system to change the dates if there is any change in the planned Vs actual dates.
Hope this gives you an idea..

  • CM01 / capacity planning / generate graphic automatically ?

    Hello experts,
we have implemented the capacity planning for our production.
    The processes are working fine.
But I've got the following requirement to solve:
Is it possible to generate the graphical views from CM01 every day automatically in background jobs and send them to printers or email-accounts (nice to have)?
Thanks a lot for your answers.
    Regards
    Markus

    Dear,
Yes it is possible to generate the graphical views from CM01go toGraphic--standard overview.
But automatic in background it is not possible.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Planned order splitting during capacity planning

    Hello,
anybody plese help me during the capacity planning in T.code.CM31 i want to split a planned order and want to assign alternative sequence. how can i do this and the capacity should be reschedule automatically to my requirement date. i am using backward scheduling.
    plese suggest immediately
    Thanks and reagards
    Bhakta

    Dear Bhakta
MRP does not perfom any Capacity Requirement Planning .While  you are executing MRP with Lead Time Scheduling , MRP proposes Planned Order Dates based on the Routing Operation Timing not based on the Work Centre available Capacity because in SAP Std R/3 we did not have scope to check the finite scheduling and capacity requirement chek .MRP assume that Work Centre has infinite available capacity .
In MRP run , it will give you Detail scheduling of the Operation in Planned Order -Detail Scheduling tab  and copied the routing , BOM as master data .When you convert that Planned order to Production order , it will copy the Routing details based on the Order Type denpendt Parameters -OPL8-Routing -Alternative sequnce  and Automatic selection -3 option
Thats why we have Capacity Requirement Planning  for Detail Capcity check and production order scheduling  .
Note : Earlier to my first  reply , please note that you have option in CM21  enter sequence number  at order level which may applicable to you .CM21-Work Centre -exectute -Select the Order from order pool -Goto Order -Sequence number maintainence
This number( sequence number operation /order )  that can be assigned to production orders or planned orders at the level of the task list header and is therefore valid for all the operations in an order.
Hope this is clear .Revert if you nees farther help

    Dear Guru,
I have number of machines and i want there individual capacity and efficency can we see that by any report or any tcode to see all capacity of machine. What is capacity leveling.
Is thee any configuration for capacity planning.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, the following configuration steps involved in the capacity planning: SPRO --> IMG --> PRODUCTION --> CAPACITY REQUIREMENT PLANNING Capacity Requirements Planning: 1) Define time units 2) Define Capacity Category 3) Set up Capacity Planner. 4) Define parameters 5) Define Standard value key. 6) Define Move time matrix. 7) Define Setup matrix. 8) Define Control Key. 9) Define Shift Sequence. 10) Define Key for performance efficiency rate. 11) Define Formula parameters. 12) Specify Scheduling type. 13) Set up Production scheduler group 14) Select Automatically. 15) Define Scheduling parameters for Production orders 16) Define Scheduling parameters for networks. 17) Define Reduction Strategies planned/ production orders. 18) Define Reduction Strategies for network/process orders. 19) Define Control Profile. 20) Define Selection profile. 21) Define time profile. 22) Define Evaluation profile. 23) Define Strategy Profile. • How to control automatic rescheduling of sales order?

    Hi all,
Could u please help me out to configure  to control  automatic rescheduling of sales order...
eg.  I created a order on 13th March  and the material was not available, then its was kept pending.  But when the stocks got added on 19th March,  the sales order got automatically rescheduled for 19th March.
I wish to stop this.   Might have to do something  with setting planned indepentent requirements which seems updating  the order automatically.
Can anyone urgently help me out to control this automatic rescheduling?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ravey
For your query , it is better not to change the Include sales requirements in OVZ9 as it will affect the entire sales order . But as per your ticket you have to customize in OVZ9 by not checking the Include sales requirements box only
But instead of that it is advisable to run V_V2 and change the date manually

  • Setting needed for Capacity Planning.

    Hi PP Gurus,
I want to know what setting we have to do for capacity planning.
    what I know is:
    1. W/C should be set for finite scheduling.
    2. In scheduling parameters for process order tick "Generate capacity Requirement".
This both setting are made in my scenario, but it is'nt loading the work center fot that week.
    Any other setting nedded?
    Thanks, in advance.

    Dear ,
You need to have following set up at basic level frist before you perfomr the capacity requirement planning  :
1.In OPKP-Define Production Scheduling parameter -Availability check -Confirm Capacity and also Finite Scheduling chekc box ticked .
2.In OPU3/OPU5-Define Scheduling Parametesr -you should mark the following
1.Automatic Scheduling check box should be marked
2.Scheduling Log check box should be marked -generate in case there is a scheduling error due to capacity over load .
3.Scedulinga and Generate Capcity should be ticked .
3.In OPJK Imaintain check capacity with SAPSFCG013 overall profile and set indicator -1 -Release Order -by user decision if capacity is insufficient
4.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
5.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling and CRP activated .
    6. OPD0 and have the following set up  : Overall profile : SFAPSFC015 --Inside the over all profile I have the following set up
1.Selection Profile -SAPSFCS013 SFC: Order view, standard overview
    2.Control Profile : SAP___C004 : Gen Capacity Availability Check for 1.5 months
    3.Time Profile : SAP___Z006 : Gen Capacity Availability Check for 1.5 months
    4.Evalution Profile : SAPSFCA013 : Gen Capacity Availability Chek =3.0D
    5.Strategy Profile : SAPSFCVER1-Gen Capacity availability Check
    6.Period Profile : SAP___P001 -Weekly period
    7.List Profile : SAPSFCI001-Production Planing
Check all of them in place .Then you can go ahead with Capacity Req.Planning -Evalution and Leveling -CM21/CM22/CM05/CM07  etc.
Refere the below theread for farther reference :

    Dear ,
To answer the question for Capacity requirement planning on sales order I would say that MRP does  only materials planning based on demand and reciept  but never does Capacity Requirement Plannig .MRP generates Planned Order  and susequently , production order can be genreted and farther you can carry out capacity requirement planning based on the work cente available capacity , requirement and load for those MTO orders .
But there are SAP business suit like APO-SNP APO PPDS which carriy our details scheduleing and caapcity check based on the demand situation : Sales Order ,Independent Order  and does capcaity vaialbality chek for those demands while planning .
Now , here is the answer of your question :
    1) Can Capacities are Scheduled as per priority given in SO automatically. : Not possible  through  SAP MRP but in APO-PPDS, APO-SNP-CTM , Herustic model .
    2) Can revised availability dates will be reflected in SO. : It can be reflected as per the ATP chekc , Replishmenet Lead  Time and re-scheduling horizon maintained in OPPQ-Carry all overall plant parametres.
    3) Which reports will be useful for understanding consolidated availability date of material for given sales order/s. : You can check through MD04/MD05 or in sales order -Availaibility check -Schedule Line -Availaibility date .
Hope your are clear about the requirememt .

  • Capacity Plan for Partially Confirmed Order

    Hi Guys
Can any one please guide me on Capacity Planning (CM29) how to:
    1. Plan to plan a partial order. Or in other terms: how to plan a part order in wk1 and rest in wk2
    2. If the process order is partially confirmed, then how should supervisor re-schedule it again for later date!
    3. Ideally what should be followed:
      a. Schedule the Planned Order on CM29 and then Convert them to Process Order , OR
      b. Convert the Planned Order and then Schedule the Process Order on the CM29 screen
    Thanks in advance
    -Rahul

    Hi Mehdi,
Once order status is PCNF you cannot create lot with inspection type as 03. You need to reverse all the confirmations/Goods issue and activate 03 inspection type in material master, maintain MIC related data in routing and do Read Master data. Then system will create inspection lot.
For 03 inspection type manually inspection lot cannot be created. Once order is released inspection lot will be automatically created by system.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramagiri

  • Capacity planning issue

    Dear all
My customer has two actor types: project managers PM and 7 work center managers WCM, with strong antithesis: PM looks at project quality and productivity; WCM looks at his resources capacity planning.
Every PM defines wbs basic start / finish dates with appropriate, large and comfortable time lag. Into this time lag, during the capacity planning, the WCMs can set definitive activity start / finish dates, by their needs (and with user status communicates to PM the happened choice) .
The generic project is composed of more wbs elements and 7 networks: all activities of a generic network are assigned to only one work center. Every lowest wbs element has only one activity.
Every PM plans dates (large and comfortable) and efforts on network activities; schedules via bottom up and copies wbs scheduled dates on basic dates. After, CP sets the top down scenario and save the project. In IMG, network profile, the type of checking during top-down time scheduling is u201CEu201D:  exit with error (transaction code OPUU).
Every WCM using transaction code CM01 doesnu2019t see the WBS constrains. So doesnu2019t know the wbs dates range. Moreover the WCMs donu2019t like a dashboard like CM01 because it is not user friendly. They prefer a graphical dashboard.
My personal idea to resolve this issue is use transaction code CM21 or similar with the display of wbs time lag. Is it possible?
Is there anyone who could help me, please? I am also interested in other technical solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Salvo50

    Venky,
    1) Sales order when enter in the system can perform the capacity availability check ?
Not in ECC/R/3.  However, in APO this is possible.
    2) The delivery dates & confirmation in the sales order is on what basis?
Depends on how you have configured your availability check.  There are a number of possibilities.  Many companies confirm MTS orders to Total Replenishment Lead time in the Material master.  Other companies leave the orders unconfirmed until Planning has created supply elements (production orders).
As far as the delivery date is concerned, it can also start with the confirmed material availability date as calculated by ATP, and then additionally schedule in the warehouse pick-pack-load times, and route transit time (the time it takes to move the shipment from your loading dock to the customer's location.
In 'Assemble to order' (a special version of Make To Order) it is possible to confirm to the scheduling time of the supporting Finished goods production orders combined with the availability of the components of the FG production order.
In R/3, some companies will confirm the MTS sales order to a date that is farther into the future than the actual estimated process time including capacity backlog.  Then, they run MRP to create planned orders.  Then, they run Capacity leveling.  Then, they run BackOrderProcessing (rescheduling) of the sales orders to re-confirm to the planned or production orders that have been capacity leveled.  In this way, Sales orders are indirectly confirmed to capacity.
Consult with your local SD and PP ATP experts to discover the options available.

  • Workflow Issues -  Capacity planning

    Hi All,
Can any one suggest some good practises and solution for this problem
    Capacity planning:_
There are no standards currently available with the current team to determine the capacity based on number of instances, instance size, etc.

It is a trial and error process.. Depends on the number of instances
the instance size should be restricted to 32KB only..
Look at tuning the engine in the Oracle 10GR3 BPM Admin manual... for all possible best practicess.
Especially look at the JVM heap size, instances threads, exec threads for automatic activities and manual activities as well as number of database pools and database connections for the engine db as well as external db..
Use Fuego.Fdi.DirHumanParticipant or DirOrganizationalRole or DirOrganizationalGroup instead of Fuego.Lib.Role for getting participants in groups etc..
This reduces the number of participants that should be in the cache and is helpful when an org has a lot of employees that are being pulled from the AD..
Look at some of the formulas for sizing etc..
One such formula in the manual is:-
Maximum Database Connections >= (# Interactive Exec Threads + # Automatic Exec Threads)
Make sure most of your instance variables are of the Category SEPERATED so that they consume less space and the instance size reduces..
I think the number of Project Variables should not be more than 256 and the number of Business Parameters should be more than 64.. Please check on this..
Depending on the number of instances and the size of project, make sure you run only a certain number of projects on one engine...

  • How to consider production capacity plan on sales order's delivery date.

    HI experts,
How to consider production capacity  on sales order's delivery date.
    Say for example :
Production workcenter capacity to produce the XYZ material 10qty in a Day.
today i have created the sales order XYZ materail qty of 100. lead days has give based of MMR 21 days 17-07-2010( 3 sundays)
and in same day i have created other sales order XYZ material qty 5000 ,the lead days again it will came 17-07-2010.
Now my client requiremnt is when the schedule days is confirming in the sale order it sholud also consider the production capacity planning also
Even though my work centers are overloaded it is confirming the sales order on 17-07-2010 (based on leads days in MMR)
    Thanks in Advance..
    Sudha

    Sudha,
Tell your client he needs to install SCM.  Here, you can use either CTP or MLATP to confirm orders based on production capacity.
There are a couple of standard workarounds available in R/3.
One is to create a constrained forecast for planning materials, consistant with capacity, convert the forecast to PIRs, and then perform ATP against 'Planning' rather than against product, using MRP Strategy 63.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/a2/4e799a927d11d1800f00c04fadcb73/frameset.htm
Another method is to leave the Sales orders unconfirmed at original order entry (eg, no lead time).  Run MRP, run capacity levelling, firm the levelled planned orders, and then run BOP (called 'rescheduling' in R/3) against the unconfirmed backlog, with an ATP that considers firmed planned orders as supply elements.  The sales orders will confirm against the planned orders, which are scheduled according to available capacity.
Either of these two methods will work, but the CTP SCM solution is by far the better answer.  Downside of SCM solution in general is the substantial implementation effort required.

  • Projects capacity planning

    Dear All,
Can you pls suggest how can we plan capacities for an activity of a project.
    For example:
The activity to be performed is Painting.
Total quantity of work for the activity is 100 m2
duration of the activity is 10 days
Somewhere in masters, may be in work center capacity planning, can I
plan that for 1 m2 of painting the required capacities as:
    Painter: 1 day
    Mason: 1 day
    helper: 2 days
    ladder: 2 days
    Painting Brush: 2 days
And when i plan the activity as above for 100 m2, can system automatically plan
the requirements as & also give the planned cost on the basis of this requirements.
    Painter: 10 day
    Mason: 10 day
    helper: 20 days
    ladder: 20 days
    Painting Brush: 20 days
    your valuable suggestions are required.
    thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    VikasDev

    Hi,
Create Painter, Mason, helper as individual Work centers. In routing, create series of operations and maintain the duration as 1 day for the respective work Center. Now when you create Production order, you wil get the duration based on the Order qty.
When you do cost calculation in Production order, you will get the costs based on the price you have maintained for the Activity type in KP26.
        Hope this helps..

  • Operations are not getting despatched in capacity planning table

    Hi Experts,
I am using capacity planning table (Graphical) to level the capacities and sequence the process orders. The start date of my orders are very well in future and sufficient capacities also is available in resources. But when I go to CM25 and select one order and click on despatch, system is not despatching it. This is the case for almost all the overall profiles.
The surprising factor is, this function was working fine earlier without any issues. I havent done any changes in configs which will affect capacity planning.
What can be the reason for this? Any thoughts please?.
One more thing. Is there any option to avoid the capacity planning step if Iam using R/3 and manage it by some other way?
    Appreciate your earlier reply
    Thanks & Regards

Most likely you didnt define the rowsource key properly. Please look under <install>/errors folder for any file there.
Also, please read the documentation. There is information there about how to troubleshoot a loading problem. Please always read the documentation and we would appreciate feedback on the documentation.
