Capital Lease Analysis - Fixed Assets

Hi all,
We are planning to implement Capital Leases for Fixed Assets.
I have below queries for this...
1. Once I setup the Lease Details and Lease Payments, will there be any impact on Asset Books until I associate to an Asset?
2. After I associate the lease to an asset, will there be an impact on Tax books? If there is an impact, how to differentiate them?
Can anyone please help me in this?
Thanks,
Harish.

  • Reduce capitalized amount to Fixed asset

We need to reduce the amount capitalized to fixed assets in a depreciation area. I haver tried with ABSO but I do not find any movement type useful.
Do anybody knows if ABSO is the best way or if there is any other.
    thanks,

user exits are places where you can have the chance to modify the standard SAP logic through adding your own logic (which you cannot achieve through customizing). You need an ABAP person for writing the correct code. Best to start is to implement the enhancement (with only a breakpoint), so by acquisition the program will stop there and the ABAP guy will show you what data you have there for modification (i. e. all depreciation area with values). Than you have an idea what has to be done (i. e. to set up conditions what and how to change). Better to ask help from some experienced guy on the project...

  • Payment due date for Asset capital lease

    Hi Gurus
We are using capital lease in our client and opening vendor postings are created when we click on opening posting leasing tab of asset master. The issue is with the payment due dates. If my lease duration is 60 months than I get 60 open items of vendor but there due dates are coming as per the fiscal year variant and not as monthly. Is there any way to solve this.

  • Leasing facility on Fixed Assets Module

    Hi All,
We are planning to use the leasing facility available on the Fixed Assets module. The cleint raised the question whether they can upload a file with all the leasing details.
Therefore I just want to know whether there is an open interface or an API avaliable for uploading lease details on the fixed assets module.
    We are implementing R12.1.3
    Thanks and Regards,
    MPH

    Hello,
    Steps:
    a) Are you querying the Correct Asset?
    b) Are you querying the Correct Asset Book?
If you have added a new assets in the same period and run the depreciation without checking the checkbox then the system will calculate the deprecation.
Please reply what is the question you need to ask
What is the actual problem r u facing.

  • Capital Lease - Data Migration

We are moving some legacy Capital Lease to SAP using AS91. Once we have loaded the Capital Lease in our quality clients we got that when using AS91, differently to AS01, we are not able to use AS03 to post the "Opening posting" button.
So, Capital Leasing is not possible to be loaded by AS91 when we want to integrate with AP for the cycle payments?
    Thanks,

    Hi
In general, you create a lease asset in SAP system only right after you have signed the lease contract. so at the stage, all information for the lease asset shall be fixed.
the function 'Opening Posting' of AS03 is to capital lease asset with 'Present Value' and create  vender invoice with lease payment amount which you have inputted in lease master data.
I suggest you use the way 1 you mentioned.
for way 2 you mentioned, as the changes will affect 'Present Value' as well as interest calculation, if you don't use 'Opening Posting' function of AS03, then you can use manually posting to re-capitalize the lease asset, create vender invoice manually and post interest manually and so on.

  • Fixed Assets

    Hi experts,
I did a acquisition with vendor through fixed assets add-on but I cannot see the particular invoice when I run the Purchase Analysis report(by Purchase Invoice)? So the report is inaccurate.
Why the fixed assets add-on is not linked with SAP standard modules? or I missed out some important settings?
    Please advice.
    Thank you.

The addon will create a journal but not an AP Invoice to the vendor.
If you want to see an invoice, create a service invoice to the vendor where the GL account is your defined Fixed Assets clearing account, then do your acquisition without vendor to the clearing account.

  • Fixed Asset failed to do a capitalization credit memo

    Hi All
    financial period April - Mar
I have this fixed asset capitalized on 1 May 2014, from A/P invoice at the price of 14,649.37. I have done the depreciation run for May-Jul (period 2 - 4). Now I want to do a capitalization credit memo on 1 Aug 2014 and noticed that it prompted me error even though I have just put $1. Then I tried to do an asset revaluation, realized that the NBV is negative now. I believe this is the reason why the cn is disallowed, but I have no idea why it has fallen to negative value. Please kindly advise.
At first I thought the quantity matters, because I didnt put "Consider quantity" in the AP invoice, so the capitalization which was created automatically has zero quantity. But later on I realized that I have other asset which has also zero quantity and has done depreciation before, yet managed to do a credit memo.
In the asset class, I set to SL1, but in the fix asset master, i changed to SL. I dont this is the cause of the error.
The (1627.76) is derived from the depreciation, 406.94 * 4 months (May, Jun, Jul, Aug) even though the depreciation for august has not been done yet.

    Yvaine

  • Fixed Assets - Tax Book Depreciation Reset

    Hello Fixed Assets Experts,
My company recently reorganized our parent company, and now has the following scenario:
Due to legal changes, we need to start over the useful life on our tax books (10 and 11) and restart the calculation of depreciation based on the net book value of the asset on 1/1/2008.  Book 01 needs to continue as normal.  We would like to use the current asset numbers and not transfer anything to new numbers.  These are all of our FFE assets, so there are multiple depreciation keys and useful lives (i.e. computer equipment, property, etc).  I have tried making custom depreciation keys and changing the useful lives to get the desired result, but can't seem to find a way to do it.
    Here is an example:
Asset 1 (software), was capitalized on 06/30/2006 with a useful life of 3 years and has been depreciating since.  It is scheduled for end of life in 2009.  The net book value of the asset on 1/1/08 is 1219.97.  I need to depreciate the 1219.97 over 3 years starting on 1/1/08.
Is this possible?  We have not run our December 08 depreciation, but I am running out of options.
    Thanks in advance!

Do you working on ECC 6 and activate the option EA-FIN. In that case it is possible to use time intervale in the tab Depr Areas (click 2 times on the line). This should solve your problem.

  • SAP fixed asset add-on. Not able to import master data using upload pgm.

    Hi all,
I am trying to import fixed asset master data using an excel file into sap B1 2007a patch level 42. I am able to run the import transaction. It tries to process and then giving me a message ' Import end: Number of successfully imported assets: 0. Number of processed assets:2. We have looked at the event log file and couldn't find anything related to the upload.  I have gone through other posts and didn't face this issue. Any hellp is apreciated.
Path which I am using to upload the fixed asset master master data: Administration --> Setup --> fixed asset --> import fixed asset master data.
Following points (see below) also taken into account while creating the master data sheet.
also replaced the ',' in the csv file to ';' before uploading and changed the fixed asset mode to 'transfer' in the administration --> system initialization > company detaills> basis initialization.
    Thanks

Mandatory:     Item Code = Asset Class; this Asset Class must be previous defined in the Asset Settings (don't change/delete anything in the item-master data - there are the Asset Classes Z-00u2026. Are stored
Description = Description of this Asset
Capitalization Date = do it like this (YYYY-MM-DD). This columne must be a text format
APC = Aquisition/Procuction Cost; when you have digits after coma please use dot for separation - don't use thousand separators; Example 23444.45
Quantity = only mandatory, when you use the same assets stored under one asset number. Example you have ten equal chairs, so you can handle this with one asset number and quantity ten
Dep01 = Depreciation area; this entry must be previous defined in the Asset Settings
Depr Start date 01 = do it like this (YYYY-MM-DD). This columne must be a text format. The beginning must be the first of the month. Please compare it in this case with the capitalization date
Useful Life 01 = calculated in months (not years)
Remaining Life 01 = calculated in months (not years)
Depr Type 01 = Depreciation Type must be previous defined in the Asset settings
Ordinary Depr 01 = ordinary depreciation; this is the comulated value you can see in the asset history sheet from the old asset solution. When you have digits after coma please use dot for separation - don't use thousand separators; Example 23444.45
Unplanned Depr 01 = unplanned/extraordinary depreciation; this is the comulated value you can see in the asset history sheet from the old asset solution. When you have digits after coma please use dot for separation - don't use thousand separators; Example 23444.45
SpDpAcc1 01 = Special depreciation account; when you use special depreciations and you have it to balance on special accounts fill in this account. This is an exeption - in normal projects not needed
SpDpKey2 01 = Special depreciation; when you use special depreciation you have to enter this cumulative value in this field. This is an exeption in normal projects not needed
SpDpAccu2026 = for further special depreciation accounts; This is an exeption
SpDpKey.. = for furhter special depreciation values; This is an exeption
Optional:     Vendor Code = when using this please be aware that the vendor code is previous defined in the system
all others = you can use if you want. The only limitation is the type/length of these fields
When you are ready with your entries mark from the first free row on for instance the next 20 rows than right mouse key - delete rows. This is necessary to prevent that in the background are invisible signs
After entering in this default excel all your assets, please save it as .csv file. (the grey message - relation to information of csv - please say yes; when you close than excel a furhter message - would you save.. - please say no now
After entering all data please save it as .CSV file. First grey window (format information) please choose 'yes'. Second window (when you close this file) please choose 'no'.
You have now a .csv file in hands right now for uploading into the fixed assets.
This example you can use for a test-import based on the year 2004

The issue was  because of the conflict of Depr. Start Date, Use Life and Remaining Life. After I corrected the data, it worked just fine. The note 876670 helped me to resolve this issue. Thanks to Adam at Toronto SAP Business one support for his expert analysis and suggestions.

  • How to Link equipments(PM) in a Settlement from AUC to Final Fixed Asset

    Hi All,
I need your help with an integration problem between AA, CO and PM.
    This is the scenario:
We are buying equipments that should not be capitaliazed until deliver them to the customer so to support this we do the following flow:
    1. Create an sheduling agreement for the whole year with and AUC and a statistical Internal Order.
    2. We create a 'Good receipt' for purchasing equipments(PM) againts the scheduking agreement. At this time we store the equipments in a specific storage location and those equipments are not capitalized. The equipments are create automatically.
    3. We deliver the equipments to the customer, not necessarily all purchased equipments.
    4. Monthly we have to capitalize the equipments that were delivered to the customer so we create a final fixed asset and execute the settlement of the AUC againts that final fixed.(First AIAB to create settlement rule and then AIBU to distribute)
    Problem:
When we execute AIAB for the step 4 we can not link the equipments with the final fixed asset, in the settlement rule we have to calculate manually the percentage or the amount that shoul be settle according to the equipments that were deliver to the customer, but we would like to:
    1. Link the equipments to the final fixed asset.
    2. Update the material and quantity in the FI posting line item.
    3. Update the quantity field in the final fixed asset master record automatically.
    Do you have any idea?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Please check in the screen layout for Asset Master. I think the equipment field is available.

Could anyone tell me if there is any or how do I go about this problem. Please tell me if custom report is a must in this case, also the tables where I can find this information.

  • Impairment of Fixed Assets

    Hi All,
Can any one help me in understanding what is Impairment of Fixed Assets, As you must be aware, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has made it mandatory for all entities to account for impairment of assets. The institute has brought about such requirement vide its Accounting Standard 28 (AS 28).
As my client asking to implement it.
What all additional steps involve in this.
    Regards
    Shayam

In order to carry out the necessary tasks in the system, you can use the same functions that are used for showing investment support on the liabilities side of the balance sheet (see Special Valuation). These system functions make it possible for you to manage the reduction in value in a separate depreciation area, in which it can be depreciated. Define this depreciation area with the following characteristics (under Valuation):
Post assets in general ledger realtime
Management of positive and negative book values
Is not a derived depreciation area
Area type: "investment support on liabilities side"
No takeover of APC values from another depreciation area
Mandatory takeover of depreciation terms from area 01
If depreciation area 01 uses a depreciation key that depreciates the net book value over the remaining useful life, the value reduction will also be depreciated over the remaining useful life of the asset. In that case, it is not necessary to change the remaining useful life manually.
Periodic posting of depreciation (under: Depreciation ® Post depreciation to the general ledger).
Indicator set for "depreciation area manages investment support" (under Special Valuation ® Investment support).
    Transaction Types
You use separate transaction types for posting the value reduction. Define these transaction types in FI-AA Customizing (Special Valuation ® Investment Support ® Check transaction types for investment support measures). The key for these transaction types always begins with capital letter "I" (for example, I01). Please be aware that these transaction types post only to depreciation areas that are defined for managing value reductions.
You can create the value reduction as a "support measure" in FI-AA Customizing (Define investment support measures). If you do, the system automatically creates the necessary transaction type.

  • Lsmw for fixed asset

    Hi All,
I am uploading data for fixed assets using LSMW with bapi -
    business object - BUS1022
    Method - FIXEDASSET_CREATEINCLVALUES
    Message Type - FIXEDASSET_CREATEINCLVALUES02
According to project settings group asset and group asset subnumber are mandatory fields for depreciation area  15. When i am running the lsmw i am getting the error
"DEPRECIATIONAREAS-GRP_ASSET ("Group asset") is a required entry field in depreciation area  15. The field was not supplied with data when the BAPI was called."
Please help me how to solve the problem...
I am copying the lsmw for which group asset and group asset sub number were not included and i am adding those two fields in my lsmw and i am not able to upload the data because of the error. Previously these two fields were not mandatory and LSMW was working fine.

  • SAP B1 Fixed Assets query

    Good Morning,
Could someone please comment on whether the SAP B1 fixed assets add-on would accommodate the following two issues, which one of our Accountants has requested?
    (1)     We are introducing a restoration provision policy that creates a restoration asset and could increase/ decrease the book value of this asset on a yearly basis.  I am looking into the practical issues of booking this and whether the SAP fixed asset register can cope with regular changes in the value of a restoration asset (both up/down).
    (2)     Adding in terminal/residual values for existing assets.
    Thankyou,
    regards
    Kelly

    Hi Kelly
This response may be a little late, but I hope it helps.
The SAP Fixed Assets add-on is very thin, not very deep, and very European (both vernacular and accounting).  For some US clients, it may not work because of shortcomings with GAAP and/or Federal Tax compliance.  I have known this for several years.
SAP asked me to develop a full-featured Fixed Assets addon several years ago.  I have been in the Fixed Assets commercial software business for over 30 years, and developed the solution now offered by Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).  Our SAP Business One add-on product is now available for both Versions 2007 and 8.8.  It is written using the SAP Business One SDK, so it integrates fully with SAP Business One and has the same look-and-feel.
From a function-feature perspective, it is desinged to exceed the accounting functionality of mid-market products such as FAS (from Sage), QBE, and even Dynamics GP.  It also provides considerable capabilities for managing Assets (Maintenance Contracts and Service Requets, Lease Accounting and Tracking, Physical Inventory, Custodial Control, Component Assets, Property Tax, etc.).
The respondant in February was correct - with the SAP addon you can do what you asked, but you have to jump through a hoop to do it.  With our B1-FAM addon, you not only can do the things you need, and do them in a very straightforward manner, but will have choices reagrding the best way to do them.  Plus, you wil have a comprehensive solution that works as it is supposed to in the US.
Feel free to vist our website at www.B1FixedAssets.com.
    Best of luck
    Joe Lewis
