There is no specific configuration required for this.  Just execute VX11N and maintain the required data.  Most importantly, please search the forum before posting such repeated question.  This has been answered many times in sales forum.

    Dear Consultants,
    We are using Letter of Guarantee(LG) for sales, this guarantee for 1 year period, value of ex: SAR.100,000.00, sales order will create with ref. to LG. For example the order value SAR 50,000.00 then billing doc created of SAR.50,000.00 and its cleared from accounts (F-28). customer receivable should be zero.
    We want when the customer pays the amount. the Financial documents (LG), open value should be (updated)increased. the same thing in credit sales system updating the value but in LG sales not.
    Ex: customer credit limit. SAR.100,000.00, if the sales made SAR 50,000.00 and if customer pays it customer credit limit remains SAR 100,000.00.  We want same for LG
    May i know your expert advise.

    Got the answer
    When the Letter of Gurantee invoice is cleared / paid inFI that the 50,000 SAR held in S131-OFAKW will be reset to 0.00 thus re-opening the 100,000 available amount again. This is an incorrect understanding, the history is always held and once the FD value is consumed a new letter of credit is required. It is not possible to change the value of a letter of credit in VX12n.
    It would require a modification to open the field for editing.

    a)Can anyone please tell me the workaround about how to handle Letter of credit payments in AP by maintaining details like LC no., LC amount, LC due date etc., and the accounting impact for the same.
    b)Is there is any workaround in AR or through
    other modules for maintaining guarantee details issued to outside parties?

    Hi,
    1.There is no special feature in AP for handling of LC. LC payments can be treated the same way like post dated payments. Any additional information can, however, be captured in attachments/DFF.
    2.It is possible to use AR for accounting of the guarantees given by us to the suppliers (or customers)
    Normally the guarantees issued are not accounted in books. In India, they are only shown as contingent liabilities. But, as Oracle Apps generates acounting entries for guarantees also, we can nullify its effect
    by assigning asset/liability accounts to both the 'receivable account' and the 'revenue account'when we define transaction types.
    We can have separate accounts mapped to guarantees received and guarantees issued.
    To cancel/reverse guarantees issued on its expiry...
    a. Define a receivable activity of type adjustment
    for eg 'Guarantee expiry'
    b. Attach the account that has been assigned to 'revenue account' in the transaction type
    to 'GL account' in receivable activity.
    c. When the guarantee expires, nullify it by doing an adjustment in the transactions window (by choosing 'Guarantee expiry' receivable activity).
    Alternatively, you can nullify a guarantee by raising a credit memo against it.
    Note: It is not possible to adjust guarantees issued against purchase invoices as in the case of guarantees received.

  • Letter of Guarantee standard report to Follow up System by email

    Regular reporting is done using by t-code VXA2 and the field "Days until val. End" populated, (if we need to know , for ex. 7 days before val.end).
    It is possible, in a standar way, to create a rule or reminder in the system that able to sent  a "reminder e-mail"  to the related parties before 7 days of the validity guarantee end date?.

  • Letter of Guarantee Value not Updating with Payments

    Dear Expert
    The requirement from the user is that when a payment is made , the system should deduct the amount paid and refresh the new available value for the customer.
    For Example : A Financial document is created with 1000 value . And Sales order created for 8000 . Therefore now the open value is 2000. This means that the customer can order goods worth 2000 only.
    In the meanwhile the first order is delivered and billed . And the customer has paid 8000 when he received the bill. this means that now he has paid so he can now order more goods worth 8000.
    but in the system it still shows open value as 2000 , although now that the customer has paid, it should be updated with the payments made so the value can be used by the customer that he had paid.
    If any of you has any idea how to tackle this ( it works same way in credit management ) but not in financial documents.
    we were thinking of another work around , i.e by closing the Financial document that has been paid and creating a new one by adding the remaining balance. i.e 2000+ 8000 , this way the customer can again use his value. but then how can we automate the system to alert the sales user that the payment has been made for a certain invoice for a certain LG.

    The functionality in GTS is designed for modelling of a single financial document for which the initial value is not updated.
    I understand your user's requirement, but surely that is dealt with simply by setting a credit limit in the SAP ERP system?  There should be no need to use the GTS functionality at all.  In the ERP system, the credit limit is updated by the account payments, exactly as your user requires.
    Please let us know if that would work, or if there are more detailed requirements that are not apparent from your post - thanks.

  • Netboot - AAMEE

    From https://discussions.apple.com/message/12564961 , still having problems creating a image with adobe products installed in it, in that last post Kostas B told me about Adobe's deployment solution (AAMEE), that does create a pkg from the installer, but, every test i've ran so far. Using system image utility to create the image and when i add the created PKG to the Packages and Post-Install Scripts the the Customize Package Selection part does list Adobe Setup, but it's grayed out and Size is 0 bytes, after deploying from it, there isn't any adobe software installed.
    The closest i gotten with this is creating another package with Package Maker and add the AAMEE package to Package Maker, SIU does report a size and it's not grayed out with that one, the software is installed, but, when i try to run them i just get a error telling me to re-install.
    Has anyone been able to do this? Any other things i should look at, maybe with Composer? Dont have composer and dont really want to pay for it to find out that i'll end up with the same result -.-

    You've not stated why you need the image volume to be RO. However, I've never seen a promise nor hint - let alone guarantee - that one can use a RO volume for this purpose.
    Does it function correctly from start to finish using your workaround ?
    Some NetBoot settings are indeed stored in NetInfo, for example the "DHCP" NetBoot mac-address filtering settings are stored in NetInfo, if you have a look I'd imagine you'll find the rest you're looking for there.

    How and where to Assign Number range for Financial document types, we have different Financial Document (FD) types Ex: Letter of credit,  Letter of guarantee and Cash against document.  We want to maintain different number range to different FD type (Letter of Credit - Foreign Trade Export) how achieve this.

    You can use the T code XAKK to define the Number Ranges for a Letter of Credit.
    But we can maintain only one number range for Financial Documents

  • Tracking of due dates in case of letter of credit and bank guarantee

    In case of letter of credit and bank guarantee can a track be kept in sap for bill negotiated and due (means the vendor has claimed payment but payment from us to our bank is not due) ,
    negotiated and due(means our payment is due)
    and bills negotiated and overdue (means payment from our side to our bank is overdue)
    how is it possible plz explain in detail as i have never worked ob LC and BG.

    Thanks for the answer I will try to explain my requirement .
    In case of import and exports Letter of credit and bank guarantee are opened with the bank. There can be amendments also after its creation in terms , amount or validity period. Then it is negotiated and retired.
    An example : A letter of credit is opened on 1st Jan. The goods are shipped on 7th Jan .Credit term given by our bank (in case of import) is 1 month which is counted from the shipment date and it expires on 7th feb. The vendor negotiates the bill on 15th jan.
    The requirement is to get a report of u2018negotiated and dueu2019 and u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
    Like from 15th Jan to 7th Feb the bill negotiated by the vendor comes under u2018negotiated and dueu2019 category and after that it comes under u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
    List of letter of credits established , negotiated , retired and balance if any.
    Letter of credit wise u2013 Bank charges paid. i.e at the time of opening , amendment , negotiation and retirement.
    Same in case of bank guarantee also.
    Plz explain me how can this be tracked and how to configure this.

    My requirement is to get system alerts when the the Letter of Credit(LOC) or Bank Guarantee (BG) is going to be expired.
    We are using Third Party software for  master data and other information related to  Letter of credit.
    In SAP ,I will  do special GL for LOC and assign to Reconciliation Account as  per standard.
    What is the best practice to get system allert, when ever the date is going to get expired.

    Hi,
    In case you want to send the last record only, then you can use following qurey
    SELECT TOP 1 * FROM DBO.OVPM T0 WHERE T0.CashSum >= 10000 AND DATEDIFF(DD, T0.CreateDate, GetDate()) = 0 ORDER BY T0.CreateDate DESC
    then in Alert u can set the frequency as 1 minute.

    To my knowledge, Bank Guarantee is used only in Imports whereas, L/C is used in both (exports and imports) scenarios.  In both the cases, bank stand guarantee for payment to seller.

    1.  The Clearing agent ask for amount, the person who receive the product will give Letter of Authority to Clearing Agent.  The clearing agent move to bank and take check.  
    For this purpose, we just issue LA.
    2. Prepare Purchase for the Vendor from whom we are going to receive the product.  There may be 2 or more Vendors.
    1. Product cost to be transferred to Vendor A
    2. Freight or Other Charges to Vendor B
    3. Customs Duty and Others to Vendor C

    You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
    To respond to some of the points you made,
    - I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
    - you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
    - all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
    And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..
    Please refrain do. Responding if there is nothing to add.

  • Best Buy 100% Price Match Guarantee FAIL for Elite Plus member!!!

    So during the Black Friday weekend I purchased a Dyson vacuum at a store.  I understand that Best Buy does not match pricing DURING Black Friday weekend.  So on 12/15 Amazon had the vacuum on sale for $26 less than what I paid.  Again, this is not Black Friday weekend but the item was purchased over Black Friday weekend.  So I called in for Best Buy to match the price.  I spoke with someone who seemed like temp help.  It did not sound like she was in a call center and she didn't know much and seemed to be IM'n with someone to get answers.  After initially telling me they would not match the price because the item was purchased during Black Friday I explained that it was no longer Black Friday and Best Buy policy does not obsolve them from matching prices for the next 5-6 weeks (the return date is 1/15/2015) from all items purchased over Black Friday weekend.  If so, no one would buy during Black Friday.  She said she would submit the price match and I would get an email letting me know if it has been approved.  I was patient and waited 2 weeks and nothing.  I called back and was told that the price match department was swamped and to please be patient.  So I waited till today to call back for the return date is in 2 days and still no price match email.  I am now being told that Best Buy only matches their own pricing if not at the time of sale AND they only match the price that same day when they can confirm the price. (which makes sense)  I'm also being told my price match was never sent to the correct department so it has been sitting in case # purgatory for the past month.  Why is any of this my fault?!  I spend over $3500 per year, year after year and I'm supposed to get 'Elite' service.  I know more than the people I'm speaking with on the phone!  I called in with a legit lower price, waited patiently for Best Buy to match, have now spoken with 3 different reps, been told something different each time about the price match policy (every time they were wrong) and now I'm being told because it wasn't matched when they could confirm the price they won't match the price?!  What am I missing?!
    Total Price Match FAIL for Elite Plus member!!!  I can only image how people that aren't Elite are treated! :-)
