Capital One Credit Line Consolidation LINK IS BACK UP!!!

Ok so I read last night on another site that combining limits is now available through CSR. So, I called to inquire. NOT YET. This is apparently a big thing currently at Capital One and according to person I spoke to, they are making big preparations for it. They had hoped it would be available by now. But are shooting for the next month or two. But definitely by end of year. You will see it online once it goes live and can do all your combining right there under your account. Pretty freaking awesome. So everybody hold on to all your Cap One cards for now.  UPDATE: Currently available online!! 7/8/15 UPDATE: Online link has been removed. Hopefully to fix any bugs. 7/17/15 UPDATE: Link is back up folks!

  • Capital one credit cards ....

How many Capital One cards can I have at once? Currently I have a secured card and a quicksilver card. I qualify for a platinum one too. I want to have atleast 5 total cards before I garden for a while. Thanks

Some say that up to 5, personally I have 3. I would advise that you garden now for at least 6 months. Let the accounts age and your score go up before applying for anything else.+1 Even though you're prequalified now, if you garden for a bit you'll most likely get a better APR and possibly a better SL as well.

  • Capital One Credit Steps increase plus a little EO help

I recently had my 6th statement cut on my QS1 Cap One card.  I was able to get an increase from 500 to 1500 after 3rd statement.  So the day after the 6th statement cut it increased again to 2000.  I was very happy with this but also wondered if there was any possibility of a little more available.  I have run close to 8000 through the card over the first 6 months.  I sent an email to the eo office, someone called me within about 2 hours and 3 days later I saw an additional 1000 to bring my new cl; to 3000.00.  Capital one has been amazing to me. Even when they have said no, it has been with such niceness that I can't help but smile and say oh well, Ill get it next time.

Congrats on your CLIs!!! Hopefully, next time you will earn a larger increase. Good luck!!!

  • Capital One credit consolidation question.....

Pondering this....I have 2 QS....one is a QS WMC and the other QS Visa.....one of the cards MUST be a zero balance to combine....so which card to have zero balance? Does the destination card have to be zero or the other way around? Which do I keep.....WMC has more benefits....this card needs to be zero to combine my QS Visa to it????

I can't see it being any other way than the card to be closed needing to be $0 balance. Pending transactions would seem like a hurdle on their end to officially close the account, so the account would need to be $0 with nothing pending so the close of the account could be automated.
Hope it all works out well for you

  • TODAY Capital One is allowing you to COMBINE CL's!!!

I just logged into my Cap1 account and clicked the services tab. Low and behold there's a link that says: Request Account Combination!!!The BIG catch is that your 1) account must be open for at least 6 months 2) 1 card must have a $0 balance and NO pending transactions. Go check it out, it will show on your screen which cards are eligible to be combined!!! BEST news ever from Capital One!!!

  • How Accurate is Capital One's Credit Tracker?

Thanks to everybody here at the forums, I just discovered Cap1's LUV button. Requested for both of my cards and received a 3k increase on my Quicksilver and 1K increase on my Journey. An hour later I noticed that my score on the Credit Tracker increased by 9 points! Does anybody know if the Credit Tracker really reflects TU's FICO score?

For several years the only credit score I had available was the Capital One Credit Tracker using TransUnion scores. While I agree that (a) it's not used by any lenders, (b) it's not as valuable as knowing one's FICO scores,  (c) it's usually lower than my FICO scores, and (d) it's only updated once a month, let me say in its defense: -it's pretty similar to the FICO scores in terms of its various calculations-it's pretty informative and gives you a pretty clear picture of where you stand-it's probably more consistent and less volatile than the FICO scores I'm the type of person who likes to see as many different scoring versions as possible, but I wouldn't disparage the Credit Tracker. For my money, it's just as good as any of theothers, and in some ways better.

  • My experience with Credit Line Increase at Capital One

Just thought i'd share my experience (and contribute for the forum) to help those who seek to increase their credit line.  This is just my experience but it seems to work. A month ago i applied for and got two new credit cards after 16 years of NO credit card useage and not so good credit.  I made sure to pay off all debts including student loans and colections accounts prior to applying.  First credit card was a Credit One card with a $300 limit.  I have since cancelled them since the low limit did nothing for me.  I also got a Capital One Quiksilver One with a $3000 limit.  During the month of owning this card i: -Charge EVERYTHING on my credit card.  Made very frequent charges.  I charged everything from a $1 coke at the vending machine to my $2700 rent.  Credit card companies have high charges for merchants, this is one of the main ways they make money.  They will love you if you pay everything with their credit card so long you make your payments in full.-Once you run your balance up as high as your comfortable doing, make a payment even if it's not month end.  Do not go exactly to or over your credit limit!-Make frequent payments.  I made 4 or 5 payments within my first month of having my new credit card.  $2700 charge, payment posted.  $400 in random charges, payment posted.  $250 in random charges, payment posted. Within 3 weeks of me owning my Capital One Quicksilver One, they tripled my credit line from $3000 to $9000.  Whoohoo! That's all.  Enjoy your credit card in good health and with good creditworthness.

  • CitiBank Credit Card Nightmare - Please go back to Capital One

I am ready to cancel my best buy credit card.  On December 27, 2013, there was fraud on my account (I believe from the Target breach from black friday sales).  Anyways, there was fraud and my card was canceled.  However, I didn't find this out until 3 days later when my card wouldn't work anywhere between the 27th and 30th.  My card was canceled and I never received a text message, email, phone call, or letter.  NOTHING.  I wouldn't know unless I called to find out what was going on.  I asked if this was normal and they said yes - no communication.
Once I called them, they said they would issue me a new card (this wasn't automatically done).  They could not expedite it.  I did have to confirm everything that was fraudulent on the card.  Fortunately there was only 1 charge that posted and all other attempts were blocked.  Still, that one fraudulent charge has not been removed.  I have called multiple times and told different things about when that charge would be removed.  Now I'm told to wait 6 weeks for it to be removed.  That's six weeks from today, not from when the charge appeared.
Before the card was canceled, I scheduled an online payment for the due date.  I called them to confirm that the payment would still go through even though a new card was issued and I couldn't access all of my online account.  They told me not to worry, it will post.  The day after my due date I get an email saying my payment couldn't be processed and now I'm past due (with a late fee).  I called and made a new payment over the phone and was told due to their error, the late fee would be waived and I wouldn't see it in a couple days.  5 days later I finally get my new card in the mail, re-register my account online, and low and behold, the fee is there.  I call back and was told that the late fee removal was never processed.  I was told to wait 6 more weeks for the fraudulent charge to be removed (even though the charge took place in california, and I have account activity to prove I was in NY state at the same time, and they agreed).  They now say they will process the late fee reversal, but to wait 2 billing cycles.  As far as I'm concerned, that charge is them stealing from me because I should never have been charged that in the first place.
This experience with citibank is disgusting.  I have never had this kind of trouble with any credit card.  I have had fraud on my accounts in the past, and every time Capital One has been awesome to work with - they pick up fraud faster and better, they email/text/call you right away, and they have done what they say they will.  Sure, others may have different experiences, but when every single citi agent has let me down and most have lied to me, I'm very angry with them.  This is the last year I have elite membership with best buy.  If this isn't fixed in a week, the account is getting closed.  Are others having nightmares with Citibank?

    Hello darkprime,
Finding out that your credit card may have been used by someone other than yourself is a very scary thing. It sounds like Citibank has tried to keep your account safe by immediately cancelling your card, but I can understand your concern at not receiving a notification from them as soon as this occurred. I’m very sorry to read of how difficult it has been to resolve the various issues resulting from having your card cancelled.
As you’re probably aware, while Citibank is a valued partner, they are a completely separate company from Best Buy. Due to this, we do not have direct access to or influence over their accounts or policies. However, we truly appreciate your loyalty as an Elite Plus customer, and I would be happy to reach out to them on your behalf to look into this right away. Using the e-mail you registered on the forum, I was able to locate your information, and as soon as I have more details, I will be sending you a private message. Thank you for posting here on the forum, and I will be in contact as soon as possible.

  • HT3702 Is there any limit to the number of itunes account that can be linked to the one credit card?

Hi.  Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of itunes accounts that can be linked to the one credit card?
    Thanks,
    Nelliemay

    Craig,
It was image.cpp line 2770.  I am told (by another person in the company that has seen this) that it has been seen on several machines, always PXI controllers, but not on all PXI controllers.  I am told that it is not always image.cpp that reports the error, but for me it was always the same line of code identified by the error message.  I did not have a chance to do any experimenting to find a particular threshold number of mnu files.  I may be able to find error logs.  I currently sent the controller to our IT department, doing a windows XP repair, just in case there was something corrupted in the system itself.
The error was reproducible.  This installation at one time must have included real-time / FPGA, because on the opening screen I ge the drop-down ring for selecting a target.  If I click on this drop down ring, I get the crash on line 2770, every time.  If, instead I open an empty new VI, I am able to switch to the block diagram by selecting the window directly with the mouse, but if I try to pull down on the "window" menu to do "show block diagram", I get the crash on line 2770, every time.  Because the user-defined mnu files are now deleted, I would have to create them again, or find a way to reinstall them, to reproduce the error at this point.

  • Rebuilding with CLI - Capital One Consolidation and PC

Started rebuilding my credit in January after opening a Cap1 Platinum Mastercard (SL $300, now $1300) and Discover It Secured Card ($500, hopefully upgrades to an unsecured card in Jan 2016). Applied and was approved for the Cap1 Quicksilver One Card (SL $500, now $1500) in April. Requested a credit line increase for both Cap1 cards in early July and was approved. Received an additional CLI today for my mastercard as part of credit steps. My QS1 receives an automatic increase in 3 more months. July was a great month! Was also approved for Bloomingdales ($800) and Nordstrom ($300). Feeling great about my rebuilding journey in only 7 months. Can't wait to consolidate both my Cap1 cards after my QS1 hits 6 months. By then, I should have over a $3000 total limit for Cap1. I've read that their Venture One must have at least a limit of $3000. After consolidation, will it possible to PC to their Venture One?

Not sure how true it is that you must have $3k for a venture one. But the PC should be possible. It's absoutely true. VentureOne has a minimum 3k limit, and Venture has a minimum 5k. Read the "How do you determine my credit line?" section on the application. it's under Rates and Disclosures.  http://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/ventureone/I knew about the Venture having $5k minimum as it's a Visa Sig. But I didn't know about the VentureOne having $3k minimum. You learn something new every day.

  • I can't access capital one website credit card, firefox 5.0 is not compatible

I try to access capital one website, credit card site and is not compatible with firefox 5.0'''bold text'''

If you think it might be your Firefox version, you might be able to run 3.5.19. Certainly that would be more secure than 3.0.11.

I recommend backing up your Firefox settings first in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

  • Completed my Credit Steps with Capital One

I have 2 Capital One cards, The first one was just a platinum mastercard with a $300 limit, the second one was a 1% cash back platinum mastercard with a $500 limit, I got one 7 months ago and the other 6 months ago.  I requested credit limit increases about 2 or 3 months ago on both of them and they raised one from $300 to $800 and the other from $500 to $1000.  Then I chatted with them and I got both of them changed to Quicksilvers with no AF.  Now with my credit steps complete I have a $1300 limit and a $2000 limit.  I was hoping that they would give me a  bigger increase since they are QS but they didn't.  I am hoping that in 6 months I can get a much bigger cli than just $500 each.  My scores were in the high 500's when I got my first card but since then there were some collections fall off and now I am in the low 700's.  My score has jumped over 100 points in just 6 or 7 months, I think that is remarkable.

Congrats!  My QS started out at $500, then with Credit Steps it bumped up to $1500 in 6 months and then $3k after a year.  Six months later they bumped me all the way up to $9k.  Stick with them and you will be rewarded!

Thanks for everyones help and advise.  If I can help in any way, let me know.  I always read these forums and applied your notes.  On that note, do you think I should close out my Credit One account 1.7K, as well as my Citi and Capital One Bank account's with lower balances?  This should bring my average credit card limits above $10K on average.  I do not use those cards at all, and have no benefits. close creditone and make them send you a letter stating your account is PIF and has a 0 balance - best way to ensure no surprises. I actually called them back before 30 days to make sure no pop up balance came up so they wouldn't report a late charge.
