Both are using the same style for the review box and highlight is not checked.

HI,
Are you using any style specifically for the Review Area? Could you please send us your project(.cptx) file or may be upload it at Acrobat.com??
Thanks,

  • Captivate 5: Problems with Java Scripts - Trying to Jump to a certain slide on Different Project

    I have the code here I researched for Captivate 5 to jump to a certain slide in a different project, this code was attempted to be used in both projects seperately and simultaniously:
    function GetSlideParam(){
    if(window.location.href.indexOf('?slide=') != -1) {
      var startIndex = window.location.href.indexOf('?slide=' ) + 7;
      var URL = window.location.href.toString();
      var slideNumber = URL.substring(startIndex);
      if(slideNumber != '' || slideNumber != undefined){
       setTimeout(function(){NavigateToSlide(slideNumber);}, 200);
    function NavigateToSlide(requestedSlide){
    var cpObj = document.Captivate;
    cpObj.cpEISetValue('cpCmndGotoSlide',requestedSlide - 1);
    cpObj.cpEISetValue('rdcmndResume',1);
    GetSlideParam();
    Here's my on success URL file in the button properties that was needed to jump to that certain slide according to my research:
    (my project to jump to).htm?slide=2
    In the end, it didn't work and just jumped to slide 1 on the other project no matter what I tried to do or how I altered the script and the project button and slide properties... Please Help... Just thought maybe you guys would know some more about scripting, that's why I'm asking you guys this regardless of it being a Captivate question because the Captivate Specialists couldn't answer my question being clueless about the scripting part of it.

    So the InDesign Scripting Forum is the place to ask about Javascript -- for any other program? Well, paint me red and call me Admiral Ackbar, I didn't see that one coming.
    Are you (and with you those "Captivate Specialists") aware of the fact that
    var slideNumber = URL.substring(startIndex);
    will return a text string, not a number? And so this next operation will (silently) fail, and return some default number instead (most likely, 0)?
    (stuff --) requestedSlide - 1
    If you already knew this, you will have to be more clear on what happens now, what you'd like to happen, and what Captivate actually is supposed to do (since I have no idea what it is).

    Hello Kris,
    Could you explain a little bit more, and tell us which version of CP you are using? P.e. are you talking about the situation when reviewing a Quiz, or are you referring to the Success caption during the quiz?

  • How to add an audio click box on a quiz slide - adobe captivate 6?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add an audio click box on a question slide. It works brilliantly on normal slides but theres no option to add a click box on quiz slides.
    I'm trying to add audio on click. So, when somebody clicks that area they will hear a sound. Is there a way to do this on a question slide?
    Thanks

    Replace those old click boxes by shapes configured as buttons. Have a look at this post:

  • Captivate 3 - click boxes not working when published

    I have a fairly large Captivate 3 file (131 MB .cp, 77 slides, most w/ audio) that I received from a vendor and am making some final edits. When I preview "next 5 slides" everything works great. When I publish though, the click boxes aren't working. I hear the click sound, but the action (continue, jump to slide, etc) does not occur. My gut feeling is that the file is fairly large and certain functions aren't being properly published.  I have done all I know to reduce the size of both the .cp and published files (image quality, audio quality, deleting unused items, remove Adobe Connect features, resave w/ new name, etc).
    Anyone know a potential cause and solution?

    Hi there,
    I have seen many instances when click boxes won't work. In this first instance I would suggest thatyou try removing the click box on one of the slides, insert a new one, publish and see if this makes any difference.
    If, not then try copying all of your slides from the existing project to a new file. If one of the slides does not copy across it might be that some part of the original project has become corrupted.
    In most cases I have found that removing the original interactive object: Click box, Text Entry Box etc and manually replacing this with a new one tends to address this issue.
    Let us know how you get on.

  • Captivate 6: Review mode

    I have built a course in Captivate 6 which uses the following navigation:
    As you can see, instead of using the built in next and back buttons, I've built my own, which contain the actions "go to next slide" and "go to previous slide". The reason I built my own buttons is that I wanted to hide each one on certain slides but not all (something which is not possible using the Captivate buttons). Also, I wanted to be able to control which slide next button navigated to so that I was able to use sub menus within my course.
    The next button appears in the last few frames of each slide, ie only allowing the user to move on once they have viewed all the content (something which is vital). The back button appears from the first frame on each slide that it appears on.
    The issue I am facing is that I want the user to freely navigate back and forward using my custom buttons, once they have accessed the content. For example, if the user has accessed Page 1, Page 2 and is now on Page 3, and for some reason wants to return to Page 2 - they press the back button to return to Page 2. They then decide, after being on Page 2 for a couple of seconds, that they want to return to Page 3 but can't move on because the next button only appears at the end of the slide.
    Is there any way to get Captivate to recognise that the slide has already been accessed, and therefore make the next button show?
    I know there is a site map which allows this functionality but my client requires a next and back button to be onscreen to make it as intuitive as possible. I also realise that I could accomplish this using Advanced Actions, but that means making the project far too complicated and opens up too much room for error.
    So, basically, is there a way to get Captivate to register that a slide has been viewed and make the next button show WITHOUT having to apply Advanced Actions to each instance of the next button? (Is there a way to use the Masterslide to do this?)
    Thanks in advance!

    No.  You would need to use Advanced Actions.

  • Audio Files "Stacking Up" on certain slides

    Working on a movie...200 slides...have listened to the audio
    file and sounds fine...each slide shows an audio clip attached and
    each file can be played slide by slide. However, when I publish the
    movie as a .exe file or even F4 to preview the movie, the audio is
    a mess...the audio continues while the slides hang up. I printed
    the bandwidth summary...and it shows in the audio column (for
    example) 940.8 KB on one slide with 0.0 KB on the next 7 slides,
    228.6 KB on next slide with following 5 slides 0.0.
    I checked the settings..."Pause until user clicks" is
    UNchecked. I have numerous click boxes on the slides (and it does
    seem to be those that are "collecting" the audio files), but all of
    these are displayed for "rest of slide" and do not require a click.
    I'm using these in a TOC on the left side to "Jump to" other
    slides. And mysteriously...probably something I'm doing wrong...it
    is the slides designated as "Jump to" slides that have the 940.8 KB
    of audio, etc. Not one of them is 0.0.
    Any ideas on how I can unscrew this mess?
    Thanks!

    The first thing that I would recommend is to try split the
    movie into a series of smaller pieces. I know that this isn't what
    you will want to hear but in general, Captivate does not handle
    this volume of slides well.
    Another point that you might like to consider, is that a
    movie of this size and ulitmately length might be considered
    information over-load for your prospective learners.
    If spliting the movie into a series of movies doesn't make
    any difference then please post each of the files and I (or another
    of my fellow ACE's) will be happy to take a look.

  • Tutorial Rate and Review Box Broken

    At the bottom of each of our Sun Java Studio Creator tutorials is a Rate and Review box where you can rate the tutorial and submit comments or questions. The responses that you have sent to us are extremely valuable. We have made many improvements based on the feedback that you send to us using the Rate and Review box.
    Unfortunately, this mechanism broke about one month ago and the Rate and Review responses are going into a black hole, never to see the light of day. After repeated requests to fix this, we finally got word that they are not going to fix it. Eventually, they will move to some other mechanism. When that happens, we will let you know. In the meantime, don't bother with the Rate and Review box. If you have suggestions, problems, or questions, you can submit them to us by going to http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/index.jsp and clicking on the link to the feedback form.

    Hi There,
    It is unfortunate that it will not be fixed for now. But thanks for posting this so the community knows where to send the feedback info.

  • Review boxes?

    I've been having to build some assessments lately and I've noticed that the review boxes that have input related to your responses in the question can act pretty weird sometimes.
    For instance: I have a quiz that only uses hot spot questions. I can go through the whole quiz and get 100% of the questions correct. When I go through the review phase only some of the text boxes will have any input in them. Is there something I can do to make sure that all the boxes have info?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response.  I don't have any quiz slides in this file, just 1 survey slide at the end of the training module.  I'm using CP4, F9 still works, but my question is, once Report Answer is deselected, do u know how the survey results are submitted / captured?

    Hard to say but most likely you are not doing anything wrong but have some library corruption

  • Supress animation during presentation when going to a certain slide

    Sometimes during a presentation I am asked to show a certain slide and I would like to go to that slide without going through all the animation again but just show the slide in its final stage. Anyone know how to do this?

    Keynote is not as clean as PPT for jumping straight to a slide during a presentation. But, you can quickly cut through any animations by holding down the Option key and pressing any of the advance keys (arrows, brackets, etc.) While in a presentation, press the slash key to see a cheat sheet of other shortcuts. The option key trick isn't listed there, but the slide switcher keys show a crude way of quickly jumping around the presentation.

    Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. If you see the silver apple it's rebooting.
    Might unfreeze it however you'll still need to remove some content from your device to free up some space.

  • Interactive pdf has random black boxes appearing after video slides

    I am using indesign cs6 and I have a document that is 52 pages long with images, text and vidoes that are flv files. I export the doc as an interactive pdf. I open the doc in Acrobat and it plays fine. The only issue is that after a video slide, A random black box, the same size as teh video element is appearing on the slide after the video.
    Right in the middle. As if I have left the video element on the same slide.
    Not sure if this is a ram issue or something I am missing. I have checked the slides after the videos and the elements are fine.
    Please help. Thank you all.

    It's a long-time bug, doubt it'll ever be fixed. You can use Acrobat to change the annotation properties to 'disable when' = page is not visible, so the Flash Player instance is unloaded from the display stack - that usually helps. InDesign doesn't let you control that parameter.
