Captivate 7 - WebObject local content

I hope someone can help?
I have successfully inserted an HTML5 animation made externally and hosted on a webserver into my Captivate 7 project and it works perfectly.
However I want to have this HTML5 content stored locally in the published directory but whenever I try to insert the content with a relative path and publishing it doesn't seem to load the content and I just get a blank page.
Has anyone tried this and successfully got local content running in the Captivate 7 WebObject?
Thanks.

I have been having this EXACT problem with HTML5 output on our Mobile LMS. We use Lectora, so there are a few different ways that we can launch the content that seem to work in slightly different ways. When I upgraded my iOS to 7 this seemed to actually help. For an interim time I was seeing the "your browser isn't supported" message on my published files where I'd not seen it before, and was using Safari 5.1 or greater. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it or is even true, but it seems like the browser enumeration has changed... I have a test code that reports the user browser and my iOS7 returns Netscape as does the local host. On iOS6 Safari returned Safari. This seem simplistic, but my next test i am going to look for non-supported HTML5 elements in the Cap HTML5 output per this browser test: http://html5test.com ... And see what I find. I could find nothing about this issue on the web 2 weeks ago! ( I think unbeknownst to me our developers were updating the app for iOS7)

  • Error message in trying to use local content in Adobe Community Help of Flash Builder

    Hi,
I have set my Adobe Community Help application preferences of Flash Builder to 'Display local content only'.to Yes.
I also disabled my internet connection to use local help content only.
I get the following error message when trying to access any of the links from Help home page.
To view the requested page, connect to the Internet or deselect "Display Local Help content only" in Preferences.
I understand this is due to all the links point online HTTP urls.
But why cannot the local help content be accessed when it is already downloaded to local and the 'Display local content only' option is set to Yes?
This saves me a lot ot time otherwise using Adobe Community Help is painful even for a short period of time.
    Thanks,
    Ram Manoj Kongara.

    Hi, Ram -
To help troubleshoot your problem, can you please do the following:
In the Adobe Community Help application, go to Edit > Preferences.
    Select Local Content.
The list of Help packages downloaded locally appear. Make sure that the status of every Help packages reads “Current”. If the status of a Help package reads  "Out-of-Date”, select that Help package, and click Update to download the latest Help package. Note that to do this, you have to be connected to the Internet. Once you fully download the Help packages to your desktop, you can access Help offline.
One other thing that I would want you to check is the Adobe Community Help Client version that you are using. To check that, in the Adobe Community Help application, go to File > About Adobe Help. The build version should be 3.2.0.610.
Let me know if this helps. If the issue still persists, we can investigate further.

  • What does the "Only cache local content" box do under Caching Server?

Just upgraded to Mavericks server, but I don;t understand what the "Only cache local content option" does? Does that mean it caches content on an on-demand basis, or dowloads all availavle updates?
    Thanks!

I suppose it's hidden in the Key 'PeerFilterRanges'
When PeerFilterRanges is boolean true, the caching server does the same as the above but uses the ListenRanges rather than the PeerFilterRanges value.

  • Unable to load external local content

I have Flash 8 Professional on Windows Vista 64-bit and I am
trying to load external SWF's into my main Flash SWF. The content
will load correctly in the trusted test movie environment but will
not load the local content in a published local sandbox mode that
runs inside of a browser. The odd thing is that the XML loader
actually loads the XML file sitting in the local directories but
for some reason it will not load the external SWF's. Anyone have an
idea why this might be happening?
I've pasted the code that will hopefully help in determining
the problem. The following is the traced print out of my debugging
    info...
    quote:
    scorm.connect(): true
    scorm.set('cmi.core.lesson_status', 'incomplete'): true
    scorm.get('cmi.core.student_id'): User01
    scorm.get('cmi.core.student_name'): Student, Joe
    loading page 0
    scorm.set('cmi.core.lesson_location', '0'): true
    [Data:onLoad] Success
    [Data:parseXML] Parsing XML...
    [Preloader:loadFrame] Loading frame...
    mcLoader.loadClip() succeeded
    [Preloader:onLoadStart] _level0.content_mc.mcFrame0
    [Preloader:onLoadError] Error Code:LoadNeverCompleted HTTP
    Status:0

Since that error points to gallery fla, it may mean the problem is inside the gallery swf file.  What you should do is go into your Publish Setings and select the option to Permit Debugging.  THat will help by attaching the line number of the problemed code.  You might find it is of a line number greater than any you have in the file doing the oading which would probably make it more definitie that its the file you are loading.
Just in case you copied and pasted, the following line should have thrown up a syntax error due to missing a parenthesis...
    loader.load(new URLRequest("gallery.swf");

  • HtmlLoader and local content problems

I'm having trouble with the HtmlLoader class and loading/displaying local content that contains flash files.
As example, I load a local page with a flash video player and no video, but it's ffine if the file isn't local. Or a page with a flash google map, same thing, fine from web, nothing from local...
Is there some method to allow this stuff?

  • How can i view my local content(swf) inside of Dream Weaver, when i keep getting this message?

Running CS5.5 on Windows and Flash is updated.
When i insert my run local content inside of dreamver I get this message..
Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
I'm not sure what I should do at this point.
    Thanks in advance.

The problem is Dreamweaver uses an older version of the swfobject.js library. You need to replace the swfobject_modified.js file that Dreamweaver automatically adds with the one that is created by Flash Catalyst. Just rename the FC version to match the DW version and overwrite the file (or change the script tag in DW).
You can replace Dreamweaver's version permanently if you want. The swfobject_modified.js file is located Dreamweaver > Configuration > Shared > Flash. Make sure you backup the file in case something goes wonky.

  • Ability to buy unique local content from other iTunes stores

    Hi,
I recently realized that iTunes store that looked modern and incredible only few years ago now does not serve my needs.
Let me explain in details and may be this information can help Apple to improve their store and meet my needs.
    I am 44 years old.
I was born in Moscow Russia back in 1969.  My childhood and my youth years were in Soviet Union and in Russia.
After graduating from university my first job was in Singapore. I lived in Singapore with my family for 12 years. My two daughters were born there.
Right now my family and I are residents of Canada.
As you can see,  there are few significant portions of our lives bonded to different cultures.
I believe we are not unique. The World is small. People goes to school in one country, goes to university in another, works and getting married in third and settles down and retires in fourth…
iTunes store provides great possibility for us to download music, songs, movies… but only from the iTunes store of the country we live.
Apple dictates what we can or can not listen and watch using iTunes by its unfair policy:
REQUIREMENTS FOR USE OF THE ITUNES SERVICE
*The iTunes Service is available to you only in Canada, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance.*
I could understand why Apple does this. Because the same HD movies can be sold for $20 in one country and for $10 in another and Apple does not want people to switch stores and get a better deal.
But I am talking about completely different issue here.
Each country produces exclusive media content which is purely local.
This could be a localized version of Disney cartoon or a song in local language.
What I really want is to be able to download any exclusive local content from any iTunes store around the World.
The price can be different and it could be related to where I live. That's fair.
What is not fair is for Apple to tell me that I can not download russian movies and russian songs from a russian iTunes store because I am no longer live in Russia.
Here is what Apple  can do to resolve this issue:
    1. Provide different audio language sound tracks for movies.
If I am buying a Disney movie from Canadian iTunes store I would like to be able to buy it in English, French and Russian. Because my family members have different preferred language. You can charge for additional sound track a small amount, say $1.99
I does not cost anything and no content needs to be produced. It's just the way you package it.
    2. Allow to mark iTunes content as an Exclusive local content. For instance a russian folk song or a russian documentary.
Make a special section "Russian exclusive content"  or "Singapore exclusive content" etc
Allow anyone in any country to buy this content.
All this makes perfect economical sense and also fair to your customers.
Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated.
I hope this information is useful to improve iTunes store in future.

    <Email Edited by Host>

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here. I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post.
It's not Apple's choice where to sell an item, the content providers control that. All content is licensed to Apple to sell by the content providers on a country-by-country basis, so each country has to have its own store - if the record company, film studio etc was happy for the item to be in your country's store then they will grant Apple a license to have it there. Similarly it's up to the film studio to put extra audio tracks and/or subtitles on their films.
If there is a particular film etc that you would like to be added to your country's store then you try requesting that it be added, but utlimately it's the content provider's choice : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • Elements 10 Local Content not Downloading

    Hi
I've recently installed Elements 10 and am trying to find my feet.  I'm able to view the help online, but the local content shows as not available.  When I'm offline it shows as pending download, but when I connect again this does not happen.  I've also tried signing in via the help app, but this had no effect.  How can I download the local help?  I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.
    Many thanks.

Help downloaded now.  Must have been linked to search issue.  Thanks.

  • Local Content Update Problem

I'm having problems with a Local Content Update.
Under Preferences ! Local Content I am showing that Actionscript 3 Reference for teh Flash Platform (dated September 16, 2011) is pending integration. However It never integrates!. I try to delete it, and I can't. After I restart Community Help I look and it shows Out of Date; if I click the Update button it starts the process, but then immediatrly goes to the Pending Integration state.
I presume the updates have been downloaded somewhere. How can I get past tbeing "stuck" at this point with the content update?? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Community Help -- no joy.
    Thanks,

Mark -- my Local Content is current as of this morning. Looks as if someone found a problem and corrected it.

  • IE blocks local content

For no apparent reason (I'm open to suggestions, why) the IE development team decided that opening local content in IE (11 and others) is DANGEROUS and therefor blocked.
In order to allow your favourite web browser (IE)  to access content on localhost follow these simple and harmless steps
And IE is behaving normal again.

    Hi,
Thank you for sharing your solutions and experience here. It will be very beneficial for other community members
    who have similar questions.
In addition, did you try to add http:// before localhost:port for IE? Unlike other browsers, IE needs to know what protocol is being used.
Also please add 127.0.0.1 to the list of trusted websites.

  • How to whitelist local content so Flash can play from a DVD?

I'm creating a DVD for rural communities which packages an offline copy of a website (captured using httrack).  The original site contains many Vimeo embeds, and have replaced these with flowplayer pointing to mp4s on the DVD.
My problem is, the videos appear blank until the user enables local content like so:
**To specify trusted locations for developer testing**
    1. On the Advanced panel, under Developer Tools, click Trusted location settings and then click Add.
    2. Enter the location on your computer that contains the trusted content, or click Browse files or Browse for folder to locate the file or folder to trust. If you specify a folder instead of a file, then all of its contents (including subfolders) become trusted as well.
    3. Click Confirm to add the domain, file, or folder to the list of trusted locations.

I'm concerned that this makes the content much less accessible for user is a school environment.
Is there a way to whitelist my content?
    Thanks, Tim

Haha I assumed being you were here that you were containing viewing all this HTML inside a Flash application (Projector or AIR). So this has literally been about directly loading HTML files into a browser and you thought the flash flowplayer was the issue about loading the HTML/Video/SWF off the DVD?
Sorry, I assumed you were using flash for this being the flash forum.. That's why I mentioned StageWebView (the way you'd display HTML pages inside a flash application). It wasn't making any sense as I've done this quite a bit with no issues.
Browsers treat the viewing of offline content poorly. They always have. IE is extremely suspicious about everything and anything, especially something that requires an activeX (flash) to load binary content. If it's just pictures and text IE is fine, but once you load a SWF you're requiring IE to load an activeX plugin that it cannot guarantee won't harm your system (even if it is flash, it needs to treat it agnostically).
If you can't wrap the site inside an application and want to directly view it off a DVD you will never completely get around all browsers jobs. Their job is to inform you when the browser is about to "lose 100% control" over the content, e.g. load a plugin. HTML5 will solve that as you said.
In fact you may even stick your DVD in, browse to a SWF or media file, right-click, hit properties and see that it is considered untrusted content in Windows (although I see you're on a Mac in the video). On Windows with standard security you are prompted with extra dialogs and sometimes even need to press an "Unblock" button on these files for them to even be allowed, depending on your security.
Again sorry for misreading. You won't get around the issue you're having and trust me, you want your browser to distrust everything without your permission.

  • LR4 local content "Not Available" in Adobe Help Manager

I followed the instructions suggested by Sandeep here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4757465, and while this caused LR4 to show up in the Adobe Help Manager, the local content's status for LR4 is given as "Not Available".  What do I need to do to get AHM to download the content for offline help, and to have direct access to it from Lightroom 4?
To me, the functionality of Adobe's offline help solution is completely unacceptable. I have read the forums and these problems have been going on for months.  Built-in help in not a new concept for software applications but Adobe has managed to take something simple and to make it complicated and unusable.  Fixing this really ought to be a higher priority for the company, particularly given the high prices that Adobe charges for its products.
Thanks in advance for any ideas to fix this problem and for letting me vent.
    Michael

    Hi Kirsti,
I was already aware of the option you suggested, but I think you'll admit stopping work in Lightroom, launching a PDF viewer and then finding and opening a standalone Help File is far from optimal.
Thanks for forwarding my message to engineering, but haven't they known about this problem for a very long time?  And if offline built-in help works for the Adobe CS products, how hard can it be to get Lightroom to conform to the same approach.
I've been reading some of the other threads and it is clear that many, many other users have been let down by Adobe's approach to built-in Help across a broad range of products. Maybe all these complaints should be forwarded to Adobe's management team, not just the engineers. This issue clearly deserves much more attention than it has been getting.

  • HT1386 How can I get local content only to sync FROM my library to my Iphone and not the other way around?

Ever since ICloud, my local Itunes library has been poluted with old music that I got rid of a long time ago.
I purchased an album from the Itunes Store App on my Iphone, listened to all the songs and decided I don't like all of them but some of them.  So I went on my laptop and the album I purchased loaded into Itunes.  I manually deleted the content I didn't want from my Itunes library.  Once my library was set the way I wanted, I wanted my Itunes library synced into my Iphone, but instead, my Iphone's content gets re-synced back into my Itunes library and the content I once deleted tries to re-download.
It's agrivating that what was once an easy automated process is now a slow agonzing manual process.  I'm considering getting rid of my phone if I can't find a remedy for this, which is the only apple product I now own.
I don't want ICloud to auto download content
I don't mind streaming the old music on my Iphone but I DO NOT want it downloaded into my phone or into my library.  I like to keep ICloud and my Itunes Library seperate.
I just want to click "Sync" on Itunes, and my phone syncs EXACTLY how my Itunes library is.
    Please help...

Backup, then restore the iPhone without syncing. Only the content currently in your library can be restored back to it.
Turn off all options in iTunes and on the device for automatic downloading of purchases.
In principle purchases made on the device are copied into the iTunes library when syncing. This ensures that you have the media ready to place back on it or a replacement should the device be lost, stolen, damaged, or need restoring, When you want to remove content either delete it manually from both the device & the library at the same time, or uncheck it within the library so that it is removed from the device during sync, then remove from the library later.
