Captivate into webpage

I have a small sized Captivate project that I would like to
place into an already existing Dreamweaver web page. I would like
to control where in that page it is placed. Any tutorials or
advise. Thanks

The problem was with having one swf for the project and
another for the skin. Couldn't figure out how to get both on to an
html page and work. Found answer at

If you uncheck the show borders in the skin properties you
will only publish one swf. That swf can be placed anywhere you like
in an html dreamweaver page. Just be sure to save the html into the
same folder where the Captivate swf file is.

Embed HTML5 Project into Webpage

Is there a way to embed a published HTML5 Captivate project into a webpage such as a Wordpress post? I have tried loading all the files to the server and then using an iFrame. The results are not great. There must be a way to embed the project directly.

This is how I did.
Publish my files selecting SWF and HTML5 output for example without compressing the folder. Let's say that the name of that folder is "mycaptivatefile"
Use filezilla for example to upload those files in your website. Let's say that your project will be located at a sublevel of your site named "examples" "www.yourblog.com/examples"
Once all your files are uploaded you have to use the <iframe> code to embed your content in your site this way:
<iframe src="www.yourblog.com/examples/mycaptivatefile/multiscreen.html" height="675" width="100%"></iframe>
Adjust the height and width according to your needs and that's it. This is the way I did it in my wordpress.

Insert flash web gallery into webpage

Hi!
How do I integrate a flash web gallery created with photoshop into my own webpage? I have to call the swf from another folder than where all the web gallery stuff is.
For example my webpage is in the folder /index
my gallery swf and all the xml and js and imagefiles are in /index/mygallery
I tried to copy all the css and js stuff from the generated index.htm into my header and copied all the div-content into my page. Than I altered the call of the gallery.swf to mygallery/gallery.swf and in the js in the header I altered mygallery/flashobject.js
But it still does not work!?

Open the xml file and see if there are any folder location that. Other than that it should be working. I haven't tried the flash gallery yet. So I could be off here. Is there another external javascript file that has not been uploaded?

Advice on inserting facebook like module into webpage

Hi,
I am trying to add a "facebook like" module into the homepage of my test website (link attached). I have gone into the develop part of my admin console and copied both sections of the code from the facebook developer page following the gudiance from Adobe Business Catalyst "Social Media: Integrating Facebook and Twitter". I saved the code and it is in container.html.(Module templates>>social media>>Facebooklike>>default>>container.html)
I didn't notice a publish button as per section 5 of the guidance note in the admin console.
I then inserted the link {module_facebooklike} into the body of my homepage. The text in bold below appears in webpage where I was expecting to see the like button.
Any advice greatly appreciated. I am very new to BC !

Embedding Applet into Webpages

I have created applets in Jbuilder 8 associated with a client. When the first Client applet (ClientUDP) runs it sends information to the server and opens a new panel. When I embedded the applets into a Webpage the information is not being sent and the panels aren't opening.
Assuming this is a class path issue, I created a jar file of my project called untitled1.jar, which is the archive for the web page, but this is not working. Here is some of the HTML file.

Hi all. Im developing a webpage and i want to include a java applet which displays live feed from an IP Camera. I tried running the page with the applet, but it just shows this error. The class file is in the same directory as the webpage alrd. Really no idea how to solve it. :confused: This is how the error looks like.

How to embed a You Tube into webpage

Can anyone give some guidance on how to embed a You Tube video into your webpage?

I don't mean to take advantage of your good nature, and willingness to help, but I do have a simular problem trying to insert the +1 button. Have you heard that Google is giving favorable ranking advantages if you use their +1 button which is the take-off of the Facebook Like button.
I would like to add the google +1 button to my Front page (Index page) having watched many "You Tube" videos it appears to be easy enough. Needless to say, I am not having any luck working it out.

As instructed I placed: <g:plusone annotation="inline"></g:plusone> in the "source page" where I wanted the google +1 logo to appear on my web page,

Imported captivates into a separate captivate, timing off

I have a slide that is meant to be an online interactive tool to determine "yes, or no" in 16 categories.
It is a table with 16 squares but I needed an animation that would allow the user to click and change each box from "no" to "yes" and back again.
I created a captivate that was 2 slides - a red "X" for no and a green checkmark for yes.
I then published this captivate as a flash / html5.
Then I created the main interactive, a slide with 16 squares which I then inserted the "yes/no" flash into 16 times.
When I insert the "yes, no" animation into the final slide everything looks great.
However, upon preview and publish, a user can click on the squares to change them from no to yes, but sometimes clicking on one square (animation) also changes 2 squares.
In the screenshot, I have the view so that you can see the main slide with the animations (on left), then the preview (on right), and I have clicked on the first "x" to change it to a checkmark, but when I clicked on the first box, another box was affected and changed to a checkmark as well. I can't decide if it is a timing issue, but my goal is that a user can click on any of the boxes and only affect that box.

I agree with Lieve. Not a good idea.
If you had just placed the images of the tick and cross in each square and used Advanced Actions to toggle them, then you would also have been able to have those actions set User Variables and track which answers the user had given. That data could have been used elsewhere in the same project to modify the experience.

Problems inserting flash movie into webpage

I am trying to insert 2 different flash movies on one webpage
One is a banner made in flash cs4 that works fine.
The other is a movie that I encoded with flash cs4 from a m4v file. When i test this file using the flash player on my computer everything works fine.
When i try to play on the webpage it shows there is flash object in dreamweaver but is blank in webbrowser.(right clicking shows there is flash there but nothing loads)
I have managed to get the movie working on a completly blank html file except that there are no controls (controls work fine in the flash player on computer)
As far as I can deduce it's not the html file because one swf file works ok
It's not how i'm inserting it onto the page because dreamweaver is doing it for me(and including the nessecary javascript etc)
It's not the movie because that works in the flash player on it's own.
So i'm stumped
any ideas guys?

I'm sorry I missunderstood the post from earlier. If I add the flv file in dreamweaver and upload the corresponding swf all works well but the flv file is 45mb which is a bit large for a 3 min video.
What i would like to do is turn this into a swf file. But this is where the problem is happening. THe swf when i export from flash wont work, comes up in the browser as doesn't load

Export Captivate into PowerPoint or Adobe Presenter or similar?

I have created a 30 minute security awareness course using Adobe Captivate 8 and one of the firm members asked if I could put the content into a user-friendly type program that he could manipulate, extract from and create his own mini e-alert type lessons from for his clients. He wants to be able to add his own comments in his own voice, change the content to be client-specific, etc. I do not know how to take the information I have in Captivate and move it into a novice type program. Any suggestions?

PIP is available in Presenter Video Creator, not in the normal Presenter plug-in. It is not available in Captivate normal projects with extension cptx. You can insert a PIP in the TOC, but have to record it separately.
In Captivate HD Video Demo, extension cpvc (which is also a video creator with a dedicated video editor) you can insert a PIP in the editor. But again you have to create it separately.
The choice is up to you: an easy way to have both recordings together, with very limited editing possibilites in Presenter. Or the Captivate way, more work, better editor.
Afraid to repeat again: we are only talking about pure video now. In the normal Captivate files, that are based on slides, you can insert a video (like a PIP) and distribute it over slides, adapting the slide markers is available in the Video menu. No webcam recording for the moment in Captivate.

Captivate into Powerpoint on a Mac

I want to be able to create a software demo in captivate.....but then move it into Powerpoint presentation. Essentially be able to click mouse to move powerpoint slide forward one part of the demo at a time.
In short...
Mouse click in powerpoint to forward to demo step #1 from captivate
Be able to talk about the slide and section of the demo
Then mouse click in powerpoint to forward to demo step #2 from captivate
Be able to talk about the slide and section of the demo
Then mouse click in powerpoint to forward to demo step #3 from captivate
Etc

Is this possible?

Well, in Captivate, click the Interactions button on the Big Button Bar and choose Click Box. Just drag it out to cover the captivate slide so it's nice and easy to click. It should already be programmed to go to the next slide. But if you need to go to a section, you will need to open the properties and configure it to jump to a specific slide.

i put the movies together by putting a click box in evey
movie's end.. the click box calls the next movie.
i want now to put the whole 4 movies in a html page.
how can i do that?

As for your question, I know that Fabio already offered one
possible thing to try, but here is how I would approach it.
Configure the end option of each movie to open the next one down
the line. This process is called "daisy chaining". As for putting
the movies into an HTML page, are we assuming you wish to simply
include one or more in an existing page?

Quality of copy & paste graphs into webpage

I have created a simple spreadsheet with several bar graphs. I can copy and paste each graph into a web page, but the "X" and "Y" number labels are blurred and jagged,(poor image quality) unlike the original spreadsheet. I can, however, copy and paste the graphs with good quality into both pages and keynote. Even when I copy the graphs from either pages or keynote, the resolution drops when I import it into the webpage. Is there a different way to save or export the graphs with crisp axis numbers (higher resolution) and insert it into a webpage?

You may also notice that the chart title and legend will be missing if you copy/paste to non-iWork applications. The jaggies sounds like like your web publishing application is converting it to a jpg and you are enlarging it from its original size.
Here is what I do when I want to paste a chart in a non-iWork application and I want the title and legend too: Print the page (cmd-P) but don't actually print it, choose "Open PDF in Preview" from the PDF button in the Print window. In Preview, use the lasso tool to select the chart. Copy. Paste it to where you want it.
I doubt this will remove the jaggies in your web page, though. You may have to enlarge the chart before copying it (or before doing the Open PDF in Preview routine) so that it is large enough to not have to be scaled up in your web page. Or figure out how to get your web page to accept it as a PDF, in which case it will scale without jaggies. Or save from Preview as a jpg with high resolution.

Captivate into Authorware

I have been using Authorware and Captivate with one another
for years. Now that Captivate 2.0 has come out I am suddenly
running into problems importing the .swf files into Authorware.
Once the file is imported and I run the program, not only is the
simulation not working (clickboxes), but the "Project Created By:
Adobe Captivate 2.0" box is displayed on the screen. The only
buttons that do work are the buttons on the skin.
Does anyone have experience with this that can give some
insight?

Are you using ActiveX to play the Captivate movie? If not,
you probably
should, as the Asset Xtra doesn't support all the features of
Flash 7.
