Capturing LOV Return Item in a field of JSP Page

I am using JDev 10g (10.1.3.5.0)
Requirement: I want to display a LOV for a field which is not bound to data model. To achieve this requirement I have follwed the below steps.
Steps:-
I have a simple JSP page in which there is a select input text field which is as follows:-

I have created the necessary navigation rules to Test1 page and also the required VO for the respective LOV.
From this Label 1 field I am able to go to the Test1 page which is a LOV Page and I am displaying the LOV records. After selecting a record, I want to come back to my main JSP Page and the selected value should appear in the field Label 1. I am not able to return the selected LOV value to the Label 1._
The code I am using to return the value from the LOV Page is as follows:-

Hi ,
I have a requirement to default the value in the fields in the page depending on LOV on another field in the Page.
But the field that needs to be defaulted is one of the fields in the DFF.
As such i am not sure what should i give in the "Return Item" property while defining the LOV mapping

Niot sure what you mean when you say to save the record.
I have this requirement in the iRecuitment Create Vacancy page and when i select the organization in that page , one of the segments of DFF should get autopupualted from the organizaton LOV.
Not Valueset is associated in the DFF segment
Could you please suggeest where i may be going wrong.

External LOV Return Items

Dear Members,
I have developed an OAF Page which has the below details:
*1/ Employee Number*
*2/ Salary*
*3/ Hire Date*
*4/ Job Title*
I have created these items in Advanced Table Region.
I've also created an external lov. The query of the external lov is as follows:
SQL> select employee_number, salary,hire_date,job_title from emp;
Now I have attached this external lov to the Employee Number field. I have also created an lov map and returned the employee_number to the Employee Number field in the page.
Whenever user clicks on the lov of employee number, it successfully displays all the employee details and when user selects any employee_number it successfully returns as well.
But my requirement is when user selects the employee number from the lov, I also want to return the salary,hire_date and job_title details to the respective fields of the OAF Page.
To achieve this requirement do we need to attach the external lov and create mappings to each and every field in the page or is there some other way?
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Dear Members,
I achieved this requirement by creating new lov mappings under Employee Number field.
Now it works without any issues.
Apart from this if there is any other way please let me know.

LOV, return item, execute_query

Dear friends,
For searching a distinct record I wanted to provide the user following:
- opening a LOV
- choosing the proper record
- Lov writes id of choosen record in datablock item of
the id (evm_a_abteil.abteilg_id) as return item/value
- do_key('execute_query') as the user pressed F8
I expected to get the one choosen record in my datablock of the form, but Forms shows me all records.
Why?

When Press "Execute Query" LOV return Item not showing

I created a LOV and defined return items.
In the form I created display items, database property NO and assign variable name which is in LOV.
When I enter a new record LOV shows the return item but when I am executing query only database record is showing and I want to show the all item even they are in database or not.

execute query populates only database items. To populate non database items after execute query, use post query trigger.

Page copy seems to mess up item validation referenced fields in new page

Hello team,
this morning i create two pages as a copy of an existing page in Apex 4.0.1.
This page contained 4 regions, each one containing 4 items, sort of:
reg1
P44_ITEM_A1
P44_ITEM_B1
P44_ITEM_C1
P44_ITEM_D1
reg2
P44_ITEM_A2
reg4
P44_ITEM_D4
There were field item validations defined on each pair of items P44_ITEMCn - P44_ITEMDn and each validation was associated with its corresponding field (the element attribute linking the validation with the error message visualization i mean).
After creating the new page, i saw that some of these validations in the new page had lost their associated item attribute value or they were associated to the item with the highest item sequence, for instance P44_ITEM_A1 lost its associated item, while P44_ITEM_D1 was associated to P44_ITEM_D4.
I just did this again a few seconds ago, so i am pretty sure this is a repeatable error.

I was able to reproduce this, of sorts. I created 2 regions each containing 4 page items, named in the way you describe. Then created item validations on all of those page items. Copied the page and the copied page contains some validations with a null 'Associated Item' value. Although, none were changed to a different item as you describe, in my test case.
I have filed bug #10198224 for this issue.

Yes, you can use the array notation in the name of the input element. You should end up with something like:

Lov returned items are not cleared in Jheadstart 11.1.1.4.26

We are using Jheadstart 11.1.1.4.26 with Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4
HR Testcase:
Form UI
Lov on the Manager_FirstName
returns
ManagerId -> ManagerId
FirstName -> Manager_Firstname
LastName -> Manager_Lastname
1: Select a manager from the LOV popup. ManagerId,FirstName,LastName are filled
2: Clear the Manager_Firstname from the Lov inputext. Returned Values should be automatically cleared (at least they used to in previous version). They dont in this version.

I emailed you a new one with screenshots of the steps required to reproduce it.
Conserning the previous test case I have sent, you are correct. I made a mistake by returning the
ManagerId back to ManagerId where it should be EmployeeId copied back to ManagerId.
However the items are not cleared in my Environment if you set a value from the LOV popup and then clear the value of the textinput. (No saving should be performed between these two steps).
If you perform a save between these two steps the items are all cleared.
Are you using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 ?

It is as if the item the Lov is based on does not autosubmit when it loses focus (click somewhere in the page)

Help with Jtext fields on JSP page?

Hi All,
How can I collect an integer on a JSP page from user input?
I am looking to vallidate the user input also thought about vallidating using HTML then passing/casting the input to a Java variable for further manipulation on the page.
I cannot use response.encodeUrl for this.
Effectively what I would like to do is replicate what a JTextField with an action listener would do to retrieve user input in a desktop Java application.
Any ideas and help would be welcome.

2.I understand that my Java helper classes are compiled into .class files and then used by the JSP page as required. Also the Java code within the <% %> Java tags is recognised and runs .
So if the java between the <% %> tags can be compiled and used why can other Java components eg Swing or AWT not be used in the same way?

Can a single LOV return values to two different fields?

Hi,
I have a scenario where I already have a LOV in the form which is assigned to a Field A. This LOV returns the value to field A. I have another field B which needs the same list of values. I can assign the same LOV to the field B as well, but can the value selected be returned to B?
I can create another LOV with the same record group, but just wanted to know if its possible to use the same LOV again.

Hi Karuna,
You can achieve this by providing a third column in LOV (whose column width can be set to 0 to prevent it from being visible in lov) which can be comma-separated of two fields. This third field can then be assigned to the form field. And a substr() function call can get you both values.

Where is the return items link?

So I accidentally bought this instead of mountain lion, (Which I need, I can only install mountain lion on my blank mac) and I was wondering how I return it? Can you even return things given to you over the internet? I don't see why not, I haven't even touched it.
Apparently there is a return items link on the order viewing page, but it's not there.... I really don't want to spend another $21 :/

Repeater fails using {container.item} context within included JSP pages

I'm using Bea Workshop 8.1.2 and netui's based framework.
I'm experiencing a problem relating to the use of jsp:insert tags as a way of templating the code as to make it more maintainable and cost effective.
The problem arises when using repeaters and then binding a <netui> tag with a "container.item" context inside the included jsp page.
Example:
On a PageController we define on its scope a rather simple data structure:
public String[] array={"Item1","Item2","Item3"}
The associated index is as follows:

This works as expected, it prints the data in the array list. Fine.
Now, with the <jsp:insert> tag usage, we get two files index.jsp and body.jsp:

With this example the {container.item} tag fails with this exception:
"Caught exception when evaluating expression "{container.item}" with available binding contexts [actionForm, pageFlow, globalApp, request, session, appication, pageContext, bundle, container, url, pageInput]. Root cause: com.bea.wlw.netui.script.xscript.IllegalContextStateException: The Tag "com.bea.wlw.netui.tags.html.Label@cb5dce" does not have a valid parent of type DataAccessProvider. The expression "container["item"]" requires a parent of this type."
BUT - and here is my problem with this - the label tag with {pageFlow.array[0]} PRINTS THE DESIRED ELEMENT.
Also, on an extended example with a <form> tag around the main index html and the array structure inside a FormData class, {actionForm.array[0]} ALSO PRINTS THE DESIRED ELEMENT.
Only {container.item} gloriously fails with an exception complaining about IllegalContextStateException.
This is a total nonorthogonal behaviour, the features do not work as expected and indeed, with the importance of repeaters for netui's development, this preclude us from the minimum standard for structured web application design.
Does anyone have any clue about this behaviour? If not a fix, at least an explanation...

I am trying to insert multiple rows I when submited I am get ting only 1 row in the DatabaseForm.

Assigning LOV return Value to multiple text items

Hi all
I have a custom form on which i have 10 text items
text item 1,text item 2 ....text item10
I have a table xx_querywith fields
text_item,query
i have inserted into the xx_query table
insert into xx_query(text_item,query)
values(text_item1,'select sysdate from dual');
insert into xx_query(text_item,query)
values(text_item2,'select sysdate-1 from dual');
I have created a record group dynamically and i am getting the query from the query column of the xx_query table into the record group(say test_rg)
I have created a LOV test_lov and thr set_lov_property i have populated the test_rg query into the test_LOV
is it possible for me to set the return item of the LOV dynamically so that i can get the LOV on the item which i want to ?

I have Created a control item and assigned the return value of the LOV to the control item
and i have assigned the LOV to the text item that i want
Currently when i navigate to the text item the LOV is visible
but when i select a value from the LOV the value is not getting populated into the text item
I have assigned the value of the control item to the text item
but i am not sure in which trigger to write the code so as when i select the value from the LOV the value should be shown on the form populating in the text item

Return item (RETPO) as a key field in condition table

Hi,
I would like to know how we can utilize return item indicator as one of the key fields in the PO pricing condition table.
[Requirement]
Condition record
Use Retrun item as a key
e.g.) Table A999: POrg | Vendor | Return item | condition rate
#1: 1000 | M123456789 |blank | 3%
PO pricing
If the PO item is NOT marked as return, #1 should be applied to that item.
If the PO item is marked as return, no condition record should be determined.
[Question]
Though I've configured as above, return item indicator seems to be ignored.
When I tick the initial indicator in access sequence, the condition rate is always applied to the PO item for both with and without return item indicator.
When I tick-off the initial indicator in access sequence, the condition rate is not applied to the PO item for both with and without return item indicator.
Why does it happen?
Is it possible to apply the condition record only to the PO without return item?
I'd like to know how to make it effective in the condition table, RETPO=blank.
As long as searched, I couldn't find any similar question.

I've already done as your instruction.
However, the result is not what I'm expecting.
I believe I'm right to creating the condition table.
But I think something wrrong in access sequence...
Though I do as your instruction, creating the condition record in MEK1 only for blank one, the record is applied to those with X when creating PO.
If you have another clue on my question, it would be much appreciated.
