Catalog Mgmt

Have a few conceptual doubts in Catalogs Management. Please share your views:
1.]Is OCI some standard that both EBP as well as the vendor uploading the catalog has to follow??I understand that it describes the data exchange between EBP and external catalog application but does every company have its own OCI standards?Who decides the fields and how is it communicated to the vendor? Any clear explanation on how the flow works?
2.]Should all the products that show up in the catalogs be in the EBP product master as well??
3.]One of the  sources to shop from(other than catalogs, description and old PO template) is the 'internal goods/services from EBP product master. Are the products in this source not catalogued?
4.]From SRM Doc:"In order for Requisite BugsEye to send items from its shopping cart to the external system via a URL, it needs an interface to define the parameters between BugsEye's common attributes and the equivalent external attributes. The Catalog Connector creates the mapping between the two sets of attributes, defining the interface between the two systems."-I cannot make any sense of it.What URL?Can anyone please explain in a simpler way.
Would appreciate any input from you all.
Thanks much!
Priya

Hi Priya,
<u>First Question.</u>
To use catalog line without a material master in SRM, you have two possibilities:
1- You create in the catalog a line with no Material number (NEW_ITEM-MATNR in the OCI), but with a description (NEW_ITEM-DESCRIPTION) and a material group (NEW_ITEM-MATGRP). This item will create a SC item and will be transfered to R/3 as a description item (no material number)
2- You create lines in the catalog but you don't have the use of a material number in SRM. Then you can check in the catalog link customizing the 'Do not Check product' flag. Then the Material number is stored in SRM, and transfered in R/3, but no local material master check is done in SRM.
Here we are talking of the customer material reference, with logistic managment, not the supplier material number or contract number that validates the commercial agreement with the supplier.
<u>Second Question</u>
In fact Emerge "contains" Bugs Eye, and the "publication"  from a server to another is only a "manual" process process (Emerge could be used as the catalog search engine).
In CCM the CAT and CSE are separated data and services. You must publish the content in the CSE, or the CSE services (transactions) will not get any data.
You have several options for CCM installation (CAT & CSE can be installed separately): My advice is to install the CCM on the same client of the SRM. It simplifies the master data management (vendors, units, ...) and the process (XI not requested).

I want to create a Catalog ( UNSPSC or 1 level company catalog),
           1. Can this be created in ECC  (with out Products ) and replicated to SRM (EBP)
           2. How to go about creating it ?
           3. Can it be done with out CCM, if so how
           4. How to replicate it ? ( no CCM or middleware )

Vertex mentioned that, Tax codes will be mapped to services, in our case, since we don’t have Services except a free form text describing what service is provided ( eg: "Payroll Service" ), what can be done ?
In a normal scenario, i can imagine having Service Master with all "Services", but in our situation, how can we use catalog to map to TAX codes. ?

    Hi
<u>To create internal catalog there are three possibilities</u>
    1. CCM Catalog developed by SAP.
    2. SRM-MDM Catalog taken over by SAP.
    3. Requisite Catalog other catalog provider.

  • Catalog maintenance view

    Hi All,
In SRM 5.0 catalog mgmt , catalog table is WSI_CALLSTRUC.
But unfortunately  SAP has not given a new Tcode for it,by which WSI_CALLSTRUC can be maintained .
Can anyone tell me how can this be maintained through spro?
Is there any VIEW CLUSTER or TCODE like BBP_CUST_CAT (in previous versions ) for this purpose.
    BR
    bidyut

    Hi bidyut,
You can crete a custom "Parameter transaction" for SM34 with the view cluster as BBP_WS_VC.
When you execute this parameter transaction, it will directly take you to the customizing of web services.
Alternatively, you can just use SM34 for this view cluster BBP_WS_VC.

  • Creation of a symptom/problem in CRM.(Solution Database)

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me what are the mandatory parameters for creation of a symptom/problem in solution database.
    I am using a bapi:
    BAPI_SYMPTOM_CREATE
can anybody tell me what all fields need to be populate for successful creation of a symptom.
It would also be nice if you can throw some light on the use/documentation regarding this bapi.
I am verifying the creation of symptom in table ISMP.Since when i create a symptom through transaction: IS01 it gets created in ISMP table but not through my BAPI. Please help.
    <b>Full points will be awarded.</b>
    Thanks in advance.
    ashish.

    Hi ,
u can create problem and solution in SDB,
    by doing
Basic settings-->define number ranges (this is done by BASIS guys on SAF)
BASIC data filed is not required,
    problems(prob type , prob subtype,define application area)
    Solutions Solution type)
    confugure this fields only ,
all the remaining fileds used to Activity, catalog Mgmt)
    dont go with bapi's
u can use LSMW , this is better.
otherwise copy paste all the FAQ's manually in the system , and compile the Server for Delta compile, fullcompile, cluster compile,

  • Query on components to be used for SAP SRM Installation

We have a requirement for SRM Server.. I need some help on what installation objects should I download. This is on AIX and DB2
for "EHP1 FOR SAP SRM 7.0 -> based on SAP NetWeaver 7.02"
    I'm sure that I'll need :
    1) Installation Master
    2) Export (SAP SRM 7.0 EHP1 Installation Export 1-3 of 3)      51038765_1
    I have queries on this:
    3) For Java stack, the component available is BS7i2010 Java Components 1x4 of 4
I have NW 7.3 based EP system. Can that be used for Java or Do I need to install another stand alone Java ?
    If it can be used:
    - Will it not create problems b'coz portal is on 7.3 and SRM is based on 7.02
    - are there any SRM Java specific components in this installation object or is it a plain NW 7.02 Java stack ?
    4) What is SAP SRM 7.0 EHP1 Components in terms of functionality given?
    5) We need MDM Server:.
For MDM Server: Where do I need to download MDM Server from ? I am not sure If we have license under our S-user.. Can you give me the path where download starts ?
For MDM Catalog :what is the difference in

    Any clue, please help..

    Hi,

Download relevent OS copy as its AXi and DB2. What ever It can be: OS Bit 64 or OS Bit 32.
As it's DVD so it contains all version info in lable.sca file. Read it before you start installation.

  • CCM - Trex sizing question

    Dear all,
I'm currenlty installing CCM and Trex on a development system. I was wondering whether someone of you had an indication on what the approximate required disk space is for Trex ?
The Trex will only be used by CCM and CCM (in our dev system) will have minimal (approx. 100-200) catalog items.
    Thanks for your reply,
    Best regards,
    Kristof

    Hi
<u>TREX is mandatory for CCM2.0. TREX is a required component of the SAP CCM 2.0, even in the scenario where the search functionality would not be used (i.e. in a scenario of just navigating the hierarchial structure and selecting items) the TREX is still a requirement for publishing and indexing of the published data.</u>

  • Photo File Mgmt & Catalog Improvements

    Photo File Mgmt:
It would be nice if LR could manage the files and location better and more tightly than it currently does.  I'm a real organization maven and I take great measure to manage and backup my data.  I don't use the Collections feature as Lightroom does a horrible job managing the physical file location of my images.  If you let it, LR will put files all over your drive creating subfolders after subfolders.  The Collectinos feature does not effectively manage the files in a one-to-one relationship very well (meaning what you see in LR is what you see on your physical hard drive location).   You can get it there if you really work at it, but it shouldn't be that hard. Instead I use the Folders to ensure the images and files are managed in a one-to-one relationship.    It works ok, but not perfectly.   As soon as you start getting into sub-folders it starts to choke.
    Moving between Catalogs
Improvements to the capability of moving images and the associated database changes from one catalog to another would be nice.   A simple "Move (or Copy) this image to another Catalog" including moving/copying the physically file while maintaining the correct folder structure, would be a great enhancement!   It is not easy to do now and I find I have to do all sorts of imports and exports to complete this task.
Another feature in this area would be the capability to Copy and images and it's LR database changes.  You can create a Virtual copy, but that stays with the original  I'd like to be able to make a copy of everything and move it to another Catalog or Folder.
    Performance:
Obvious one!   This needs much work.  LR is slow and laggy.  As a 20 year veteran as an IT professional, I know what apps are capable of and this has a lot of room for improvement.  Even with high-end graphic cards, dual x64 processors and raptor 10k drives it feels like walking through the mud when clicking around.

Pics taken with/saved from ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  itunes has nothing to do with these pics at all.  You import these pics as you would from any digital camera.  You should be able to delete them during the import from whatever program you use to import photos.

    Hi Mandy,
    You can do this:
On the MDM Console, right click on the Repository -> Properties -> PDF -> Allow invalid PDFs -> Yes .
    Alternatively,
You can also find some information about it on https://service.sap.com/srm within this link on the left frame go into

  • Assign Qualification Catalog

We created, qualification catalog, QK, and Qualifications via OOQA. Then created Qualification Categories,  via SPRO-Talent Mgmt and Talent Development-qualifications in Talent Management.
Now need to assign Qualifications to Qualification Categories, what should be the object ID in the table here?
    Please help.

    Perfect Dilek -
just 2 things, how do I select multiple entries via OOQA, I did, while staying in the HRP1001 table, I selected the multiple column button, this gave me the list of all QK IDs and then I marked Check on each row of all QK object Ids, hope this is what you meant, not going to OOQA tcode in separate session, please confirm, becasue, going via OOQA give the tree of QK objects with Qs under each QK.
Secondly, should I delete SOBID Column before downloading entries to the excel, if so, how can I do it?
    Thanks a ton.

    Hi EricvdS,
Thanks a lot, i have used the following command to get my result :
select dbid, name,t.ct qct from rc_database q,(select DB_ID,max(COMPLETION_TIME) ct from rc_backup_set where db_id in (select dbid from rc_database where name like 'IN%') group by DB_ID having to_date(max(COMPLETION_TIME),'dd-mon-yy')!=trim(sysdate) ) t where q.dbid = t. db_id and q.dbid not in ('586755576','580830361','894607119','881224701') order by 3;but after seeing your comment i again went through all the available tables and found the following to get my result :
select DB_NAME from rc_backup_set_summary where to_date(NEWEST_BACKUP_TIME,'dd-mon-yy')!=to_date(sysdate,'dd-mon-yy') and db_name like 'IN%';Both of them work properly.
    thanks a lot.

  • Printing issues with color mgmt on a HP 7180 photosmart printer - Can you help?

I've been have an ongoing issue with my Adobe Elements 6.0 and printing my pictures off a HP7180.  The colors don't match what I see on the monitor as well what's on my camera.  I can send the pictures to KodakEasyshare online and the pictures come back with the same colors as to what I see within my application and monitor.  I've run test pages off my printer and everything is good.  Help me, PLEASE.

I've tried printing from both the catalog and the editor screen and I've fooled around with the color mgmt.  The printing is still off.  The colors are vibrant from what I can see and when it prints it's not as sharp and the colors tend to be dull or maybe leaning towards more green/blue sometimes even more reddish - orange.  I've taken the liberty and reseted the printer to factory defaults on the hardware and on the pc...It's till giving me this problem.  What's amazing is I can print from Kodakgallery software, photoalbum 3.2 from adobe and the colors are some what true to color.  I can't get it to print right with elements.
