Creation of a symptom/problem in CRM.(Solution Database)

Hi All,
Can anybody tell me what are the mandatory parameters for creation of a symptom/problem in solution database.
I am using a bapi:
BAPI_SYMPTOM_CREATE
can anybody tell me what all fields need to be populate for successful creation of a symptom.
It would also be nice if you can throw some light on the use/documentation regarding this bapi.
I am verifying the creation of symptom in table ISMP.Since when i create a symptom through transaction: IS01 it gets created in ISMP table but not through my BAPI. Please help.

Hi ,
u can create problem and solution in SDB,
by doing
Basic settings-->define number ranges (this is done by BASIS guys on SAF)
BASIC data filed is not required,
problems(prob type , prob subtype,define application area)
Solutions Solution type)
confugure this fields only ,
all the remaining fileds used to Activity, catalog Mgmt)
dont go with bapi's
u can use LSMW , this is better.
otherwise copy paste all the FAQ's manually in the system , and compile the Server for Delta compile, fullcompile, cluster compile,

Can anyone tell me how to maintain problems and solutions in the CRM solution database , after setting up the TREX and SAF for the IC webclient .
we are unable to maintain the problem types with 1200 words in the problem description in IS01 Transaction We are unable to assign the codes to the problem type at the time of maintaining the problems and solutions in the IS01 transaction for solution database . after maintaining the problems and solutions the SAF indexing with full compilation and cluster compilation . the list of documents were showing successful status but when we search by the attribute type in the knowledge search the message is showing no search refinement found .kindly expedite the solution for the the above description
The TREX connectivity has been established successfully and the SAF is configured successfully without any errors in it but but we are unable to search the text based and attribute based search in the IC webclient knowledge search .

It says in section 3.1.5.2.3 on page 57, the below mentioned paragraph.
3. On screen Create Problem maintain the following data:
Be sure that the descriptions of the following problem(s) and solution(s) are defined in all languages that you want to use (e.g., in the E-Commerce Internet Customer Self-Service).
4.Choose Enter. The default parameters are filled; please also see the NOTE following this description.
5.Enter the problem description listed in the box below. The first line should not exceed 40 characters, for this is like a short description of the problem that will be displayed in the first line of the hitlist in the search.

CRM Solution Database Attachments

We are creating problems and solution in the CRM (5.0) solution database. I can attach documents to the different solutions, but if I want to attach the same document to 10 solutions I need to do it 10 times. When the document changes I will then need to update all 10 solutions.
Is there a way in CRM to create one document and link it to multiple solutions so that I will need to update the document one time when it changes?

Problem facing in Solution Database in CS

Dear All,
I am using Solution database in notification link and for this i have maintained the symptoms and solutions master data and also compile them for the search engine.
While using solution database in notification, if I enter any word or any sentence in the search criteria in the free text box, then system display all the symptom related to that text but if I enter any Short form or any abbrevaition for example FFR(Field failure report) in the search criteria and this FFR is in one of the compiled symptom master data, even though it's not picking in the search criteria and system giving the message that "NO SEARCH CRITERIA EXISTS".
Please provide the solution asap.

Hi, we're in the process of implementing SDB. Interfacing from a master system to CRM 4.0, including Problem/Solution Change functionality (deltas). I now have the Change functionality working. Basically you have to:-
Copy BAPI_SYMPTOM_CREATE to ZBAPI_SYMPTOM_CHANGE.
Copy FM CRM_ISME_SYMPTOM_CREATE to ZCRM_ISME_SYMPTOM_CHANGE. Plug this into the ZBAPI (data interface is the same throughout).
Modify ZCRM_ISME_SYMPTOM_CHANGE so that the "Create" flags are replaced with Update flags. This is in forms fill_dismp, send_logtext. You must create Z versions of those forms. You also need to call FM ISMB_GET_SYMPTOM before FM ISMB_FILL_BUFFER_FROM_WA, as you need to fill the "D" buffer.
Yu can then test in SE37, running "test sequences" with BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to post.
You can then use transaction BDBG and a Sub Type Business Object in SWO1 for BUS1174 to explode a new IDOC around the Change BAPI - and hey presto - you have a working Change IDOC. You can continue to use the standard XIF IDOC IDOC_INPUT_CRMXIF_SYMPTOM_SAVE for Create & Delete.
Same processing applies losely for SOLUTIONS.

A problem on Sap Solution Manager

Hi all,
I got a problem with Sap Solution manager and i hope that you will be able to help me
Ill try to do my best to be understood in English =)
So, here is my goal :
I want to use SolMan as a workbench for test with eCATT. I made a very simple test with the transaction SECATT : A script for a customer creation by the transaction XD01.
This script works well, so Ive done the test configuration, the Test data and the system data.
At this point, I dont have any problem. If I launch the test, it works. (Important point maybe : I work in remote from an environnement dedicated to SolMan toward a production one).
When I try to put this test in SolMan, there appear my problems.
I dont really know SolMan for the moment, but it seems that I have to begin by the transaction SOLAR01 which lead me to the Business blueprint change. But I cant modify anything in it, as the system always tells me the following error : You cannot change (or There are no) Structure nodes.
Maybe Im not going in the good way, but I try every transaction in SolMan, like Configuration, Test plan management or project overview & Administration. I filled all field I could, but its not working for the moment.
I just want to know how to get my test in a workbench, in a test plan on SolMan
Can you help me ?

What I understand from your contribution: You do not seem to have a problem working with the Test Workbench in general but would like to know how to work with the Test Workbench as integral part of SAP Solution Manager.
The basic idea of SAP Solution Manager is that you have the possibility of doing a process-oriented testing (instead of straight module or functioned-oriented testing with regular Test Workbench functionality).
This is why in SAP Solution Manager you would start of with setting up a project (in transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN), in which you define a <i>process-oriented</i> blueprint structure in the next step (transaction SOLAR01) and attach test cases to your process-oriented structure (in transaction SOLAR02) afterwards.

Hi,
One of my user is facing issue in creating new time sheet,
"The time sheet creation failed, because of problems with the project server or with data validations".
This issue is coming to only few members out of 10000 members.
Note: For the same user, can able to do in other machines. only the problem in his machine. Have ran the office diagnostics, but still the problem persists.
Is any add-on's/any settings need to update in IE. Could any one please help me on how to fix this issue?

I had this problem. I held down the power switch to power down completely. Takes a few seconds. Then use the power switch to turn on. Might take a couple goes.

Problem in CRM WEBUI

Hi,
I am on CRM WEBUI. When I click on any of the buttons on WEBUI, after a while, it is showing a blank page, instead of required page. However if I click on back button, then it is showing the required page.
This is happening very sporadically. I am not able to undertstand the reason.
Could you please let me know, any settings I need to do to avoid this problem. (CRM Settings or Internet settings).

Please have a look at note 1244321 which contains the general information on analysing WEBUI problems.
Please also try to get a HTTP trace of the problem which would be helpful on analysing.
There was the similar case which was caused by network.

Creation of Tech Master data with CRM IC Web Client

I have a query regarding creation of Technical master data via CRM IC Web client ( CRM7.0 & ECC6 for ISU)
1) If we are using CRM IC web Client then , how the creation of Technical Master Data is triggered from web client ?
2) Where the technical master data created first ISU or CRM ?

1) You need to configure CRM Middleware to exchange data between CRM and IS-U;
2) Data is created first in CRM, then it's replicated to IS-U.
