Catalogue Image Thumbnail Size

Question:
Does anybody know if there's a way to automatically create thumbnail images for the catalog thumbnails? I feel like I've tried everything and have been searching for threads on this topic but found nothing.
Here's what I'm doing:
<div class="shop-catalog clear">
    <h4>{ tag_name}</h4>
    <div class="image"><img src="{tag_image_value}?Action=thumbnail&Width=50&Height=50" /></div>
</div>
Oh, and I've tried the tag both with and without the _value in it. Neither works.
Answer:
There is no _value for catalog images or products and you can not use the thumbnail code on them. The catalog image is intended to be just a small image size, so you'll need to resize your images to appropriate size before uploading them.

Please I need help. How can I display thumbnails of all the catalog on a site in BC. Instead of the {module_cataloguelistdump} that only list the tag names of the catalog without displaying the catalogue thumbnail images. BC support told me I have to place individual catalogue one by one on the page, which I found inefficient, because in the future the client can increase the catalog and I have to go into the code again, instead of just adding the catalog.
I will sincerely appreciate your help.

  • How can I increase the thumbnail size when using Safari to upload an image to a website?

    I upload many images to multiple websites and when using Safari to upload these images, the thumbnails are so small I can barely make out what the image is. I can easily figure out how to increase the thumbnail size when viewing them in Finder and set the default to my liking, but I cannot seem to find a way to do this in Safari. The last topic I saw on this was form 2013 and have not seen any update. Is there a way to do this?

    Delete all unused, invisible layers.
    Sometimes zip compression is better than jpg compression (in the pdf output settings). Zip is lossless, and works better with non gradient colour or no images.
    Flattening the image before you save it to pdf can reduce the file size if you are using jpg compression.
    Post a preview of your pdf and we can comment further on how to reduce the file size.

  • Thumbnail size images are not loading

    On some sites such as Myspace or Facebook or even the Images search on Yahoo, the thumbnail size do not load up at all. The browser will take longer than usual to load the page but when it finishes loading the images show up as a box with a question mark.
    Can somebody tell me what I can do to prevent this from happening? It's becoming really frustrating when I do searches.

    I've had this problem for the entire year that I've had my Mac so far. I thought it was a normal thing until I used Safari on a few other Macs. Everything else on my Mini is nice and fast. The same pages render in blazing speeds when I use Firefox or Opera when compared to Safari. Anyone have a solution?

  • Custom Thumbnail Size(px) w/ADDT Multiple Image Uploader

    The standard thumbnail size that the Multiple Image Uploader generates is 150px x 100px
    I would like to know if there is any way to change that to 350 x 300?
    I am refering to the thumbnail that is generated and put into the
    thumbnails folder, not the thumbnail for the uploader itself :)
    Thank You!

    Hi Jason,
    this particular thumbnail size appears to be defined in the file "includes/tng/triggers/tNG_MImageUpload.class.php" -- here´s a function named "tNG_MImageUpload" with the following line:
    $this->showThumbnail(150,100,true);
    Guess you´ll have to change the thumbnail width-X-height values in here.

  • Pictures not displaying in non-thumbnail sizes

    One of my clients has an iMac G5 running 10.4.11 and iPhoto 5.0.4. He's got about 3200 pictures in his iPhoto library which is about 12GB in size (they are all very large pictures). He's been using iPhoto without problem for years then suddenly he noticed that some pictures do not display in a slideshow. Out of the 3200 pictures he's narrowed it down so far to a few dozen pictures throughout his library. When we view the roll or the album with the pictures listed as thumbnails, we can see the picture just fine, but when we do anything that involves viewing at non-thumbnail size, such as double clicking on it or viewing in a slideshow it displays nothing. Slideshow just shows all black and double clicking on the thumb shows white with a spinning gear that never stops spinning. I rebuilt his library and that did not fix it. I repaired permissions, trashed iPhoto preferences, deleted tmp & cache files from his computer, I even zapped the PRAM out of desperation and nothing made any difference at all. One weird thing is that when it is siting at the white screen with spinning gear, if we resize the window smaller then resize it bigger, the picture will display properly but only for that time. It still will not display in slideshows.
    I tried exporting one of the troublesome pictures out of iPhoto to his desktop, delete the pic from iPhoto, then try re-importing it again. This time when we try to import it, iPhoto gives an error that the file couldn't be imported because it may be an unrecognized file type or may not contain valid data. I can open the pic on his desktop using Preview and Photoshop with no problems at all.
    Why am I posting this in the iPhoto '08 forum? well I copied the file to my MacBook Pro running 10.5.6 and iPhoto '08 and it almost does the same thing. I am able to import the file into iPhoto '08 and I can see the thumbnail but when I double click it, instead of a white screen with the spinning gear, i get a black screen and nothing else. I tried the trick of resizing the window and as I'm resizing, I do see a blocky image but as soon as I stop resizing the image goes black.
    I can open the file in any program on multiple computers: Photoshop, Preview, GraphicConverter, ColorSync Util, Safari, Firefox, etc. iPhoto version 5 and '08 (the only versions I have handy) refuse to work with the file. I've even edited the picture in photoshop by changing the resolution by just a few pixels and slightly tighter jpg compression but iPhoto still refuses to play nice with it.
    I have exhausted all options other than reinstalling the OS, but other posts I've read similar to this say that never fixes it. I am at a loss. What is wrong with iPhoto that it refuses to play nicely with pictures that work everywhere else in the world?
    I forgot to add that in Console there are several instances of iPhoto errors:
    "have info and image but no ciimage" and “have info and image but no ref”

    Clint:
    Try opening the file in one of the other applications that can use it and save as a new file and see if that new file is compatible with iPhoto. Or you might try this Automator workflow, Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile, on one and see if the resulting file will work. If so you can batch change all of them. It replaces the file you run it on so be sure to run it on a copy just to be safe. You can download it from Toad's Cellar or download it immediately with this link: Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile.zip.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    NOTE: iPhoto 8's new option in it's rebuild library window, "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" may make this tip obsolete. We'll know when users have occasion to use it and see if that's the case.

  • Image Byte size in "Save for Web"-Dialog is wrong?

    The Image Byte size in the finder is always larger than the size stated in Photoshop's "Save for Web"-Dialog box. For example, it shows me 34,36 KB in the SfW-Dialog, while the file information in Finder puts out "38,831 KB". Does anybody know how to fix this annoying behaviour?
    kind regards,
    tomasio

    The size reported in the Finder can be in base 1000 (lying numbers used by disk makers) instead of base 1024 (actual bytes) if you don't change the settings.
    The size reported in the Finder can include the resource fork (metadata and thumbnails, some added by the OS), plus some extra space for disk block allocations (if you write 1 byte to a file, it still takes 4k or more of disk space).
    The size given in SFW is a close estimate of the actual number of bytes written to the disk, and usually matches the size reported by FTP and the web server (sometimes the estimate is off by a little bit due to the final compression options chosen).
    But SFW cannot account for the oddities of the Finder or Windows Explorer's accounting of file size.

  • How to reduce image file size in spreadsheet

    I have created a spreadsheet that contains cells with small amounts of text, and images that I brought in from the Media Browser from iPhoto. This has caused the file size to become HUGE, on the order of 234 MB. Saving it as a pdf only reduces it to 220 MB.
    I have tried the Format>Image>Reduce Image File Size, as well as File>Reduce File Size, but in both cases, those options are grayed out.
    What am I doing wrong? All I really want is thumbnail versions of my image files.
    I don't understand what the Reduce Image File Size command would be used for, if it doesn't work for this?

    When you insert a picture in a cell, it's used as a background.
    To do that, the app keep it in a size allowing it to accomodate the larger cell size permitted.
    If you want to get small images matching the cell size which you use, you must reduce the picture by yourself before inserting it. For instance, cells are often 72 * 16 pixels ones so you may reduce your pictures so that thir width become 72 pixels.
    Of course, if the user enlarge the cell, the picture will become highly pixelated.
    Look at this example.
    In B4 is the original : 202 x 177 pixels
    In C3 is the reduced one : 72 x 63
    in B2 is the reduced one in a 202 x 177 pixels cell. It's awfully pixelized
    We must arbitrate between size and quality.

  • LightRoom 2: Enlarge thumbnail size in filmstrip?

    I'm running on a 30" monitor which is really great for workflow efficiency. BUT... the thumbnail images in the filmstrip are just too small and I'd like to be able to enlarge the thumbnail size.
    In Grid View, its easy to do this for grid view but does not help with the filmstrip view.
    Lee

    I'm using LR5, but I've been using Lightroom since LR2.  Earlier today, I suddenly found that the images in the filmstrip had shrunk and I couldn't figure out why.  I tried right-clicking on everything and looked through a bunch of preferences and view options without success.  I finally decided to enlist the help of Google.  This is the first search result that I checked and the answer was right there!  Dragging the top of the film strip has never occured to me, but now it seems so obvious!  This is my fourth version of Lightroom and I never realized I could do that!

  • Pictures are thumbnail size after project import

    I imported a project from my external drive and some of the pictures in this project are normal in size but others appear the size of thumbnails. When double-clicking on them or pressing the F key they stay that thumbnail size in the viewer and I would like to get them to normal size. Please help.

    Thanx for answering "jinpack". The story is a little more complicated. My aperture libraries were not opening and I took the external hard drive to the Apple Store to a lady that is Aperture Certified. Bought a brand new external drive after running some tests on the older drive and on the MacBookPro. All tests appeared normal. So she right-clicked the projects and selected "Show package contents" and dragged them to the new external drive. I am not sure if she consolidated the libraries or if she did anything else but I returned yesterday and of course she was on vacation. Si I'll have to wait.
    I just went back to the old external drive where the libraries were (still are) and some of the pictures in that project were missing and they were there before. A lot of these are present in the new external drive but appear as small (I call them) thumbnail sized. I guess if I cannot find the master RAW images I can always go to master JPEGs.
    I really appreciate your help.

  • Thumbnail Size when Browsing in PS

    I am a brand new Mac user and have just converted over my Photoshop from Windows to Mac.  I am trying to increase the thumbnail size when I am browsing my images to open directly from Photoshop without going through Bridge first.  I have increase the size of the thumbnails using the Apple preferences but this does not seem to effect the thumbnails when viewing files directly from Photoshop.  Can someone tell me if I can do this and how?
    Curtis

    Paul
    In column view I only get one thumbnail at a time and only after I click on the image name.  This defeats the purpose of the thumbnails for me as I want to see the thumbnails in order to select the image and not view the thumbnails after I select the image.  The problem with the matrix view thumbnails is they are too small to make that selection with as I can't see any differences if the images are similar at all.  What I'm hoping for is that the thumbnails can be made larger in the matrix view but I can't seem to find any setting in Photoshop that change the default settings.

  • Printing multiple designs, but printing thumbnail size

    I am trying to print multiple of same design on same page, but for some reason it is printing thumbnail size. Does anyone know why?

    OK. Let's figure out what you've done incorrectly.
    First, what is the page size in Document Setup, and waht is the size of the paper on which you want to print?
    Can you show me a screen shot of your page in InDesign? You can use the camera icon on the web page to embed an image in your post, like this:

  • Image Thumbnails with DW and Access

    I have an Access .mdb database hooked up to dreamweaver to
    display results, just one table with 3 fields. One of the fields is
    the path to show images.
    The results show the fields and the images in the recordset
    using the 'insert image relative to site root' thing. How can I get
    DW to show image thumbnails in the results, then when you click on
    the thumbnail it takes you to the full size image, or even better a
    page showing all related images in that set?
    Cheers
    Billy

    The image names for the thumbnails, and the hyperlink paths
    to the
    associated pages are saved in the database.
    Then you do this in the HTML -
    <a href="<%= thepathtotherelatedpage %>"><img
    src="../images/whatever/<%=
    thethumbimagename %>" width="140"
    height="100"></a>

  • Create image thumbnail later

    Hello, I've a script which import images from a server and link it in InDesign also some IDMS files from text source and put it in InDesign. The problem here is this file may have up to 1500 images with very large in size that takes lots of time to generate the InDesign file, So my question from this forum is:
    Can we make image import process speedy ?
    Can we generate image thumbnail later by script so that quickly it generate InDesign file and later in background keep importing the images ?
    If yes, then can some tell the way to do that ?
    If no, is there any other way to achieve this goal?
    Note: Basically this script I'm using in an InDesign flex extension.
    Thanks
    Mac

    @Mac – did you experiment with the preferences of InDesign?
    By scripting something around this:
    app.displayPerformancePreferences.defaultDisplaySettings = ViewDisplaySettings.OPTIMIZED;
    app.displayPerformancePreferences.ignoreLocalSettings = true;
    var myLayoutWindows = app.documents[0].layoutWindows.everyItem();
    myLayoutWindows.overprintPreview = false;
    myLayoutWindows.screenMode = ScreenModeOptions.PREVIEW_OFF;
    myLayoutWindows.viewDisplaySetting = ViewDisplaySettings.OPTIMIZED;
    Also, try to "optimize" the inital definition for the "OPTIMIZED" view display settings without a script (I could not find a hook in scripting to change these) by pulling the switch for raster graphics, vector graphics and transparency to the left. No antializing, greek text for type above 30 pt.).
    Don't know if that will help…
    If you do "optimization" right, the placed graphics will be shown as gray boxes with an "x" in it:
    Until you change the view settings to "High Quality" or "Typical".

  • Viewing DNG's in Windows 8.1 file explorer as image thumbnails ... how to do this?

    Does anyone know why you can't view .dng RAW files as image thumbnails in Windows 8.1  file explorer even with the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack installed.
    Other RAW files show up as thumbnails no problem (e.g. Nikon .NEF files). I could view dng's as thumbnails in Windows 7 but not with Windows 8.1. Perhaps Adobe hasn't shared the appropriate info. for Microsoft to make it happen?
    Cheers if you know how to see the dng thumbnails and can help me do the same.

    I know the DNG Codec for Windows 7 allowed one to view DNG thumbs in Win 7. Wouldn't it work for Windows 8.1 too?
