Catching error messages in Webservice response

Hi,
The webservice I am trying to call from ABAP is throwing address not found exception which is caught by cx_ai_system_fault exception class. This class only returns <faultcode> and <faultstring> but not <ErrorCode> and <ErrorMsg> in <detail> node.
Is there any way I could get information from <detail> node?
Below is response I am getting from webservice.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<soap:Body>
<soap:Fault>
<faultcode>soap:Client</faultcode>
<faultstring>Fault occurred</faultstring>
<faultactor>http://testserver/Addressverification/addressservices.asmx</faultactor>
<detail>
<ErrorCode xmlns="http://www.testserver.com">2</ErrorCode>
<ErrorMsg xmlns="http://www.testserver.com">ADDRESS NOT FOUND</ErrorMsg>
</detail>
</soap:Fault>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
Thank you,
Jagadish

If you see proxy structure created from wsdl then you can find exception class which may have "Detail" node.

    Hi,
    I have created a SOAP message using SAAJ. I want to add error messages in the response. Any idea how to do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Raja- It seems to be a data quality issue.
    Check for the value @ 1447 position in the xml message that you are trying to send to web service..
    may be a date filed/decimal value which is not in expected format.

  • OLE Automation: catch error message

    Hi, Experts.
    I am interested in catching error messages after OLE commands. I show it in Excel example, but interested in general:
    REPORT zlcka_ole .
    TYPE-POOLS ole2.
    DATA h_excel TYPE ole2_object.
    DATA h_workbooks TYPE ole2_object.
    DATA h_workbook TYPE ole2_object.
    DATA h_range TYPE ole2_object.
    CREATE OBJECT h_excel 'EXCEL.APPLICATION'.
    SET PROPERTY OF h_excel 'Visible' = 1.
    CALL METHOD OF h_excel 'Workbooks' = h_workbooks.
    CALL METHOD OF h_workbooks 'Add' = h_workbook.
    CALL METHOD OF h_excel 'Rows' = h_range
      EXPORTING
        #1 = 3.
    SET PROPERTY OF h_range 'Name' = 'TEST'.
    CALL METHOD OF h_excel 'Range' = h_range
      EXPORTING
        #1 = 'TEST'.
    SET PROPERTY OF h_range 'Hidden' = 1.
    WRITE / sy-subrc.
    WRITE / sy-msgli.
    I turned on debuging Automation of GUI and execute program.
    Result was sy-subrc = 3 sy-msgli = ''
    But in logfile(directory: SapWorkDir) I find:
    <275=Automation(Error): *****************************ERROR OCCURED IN MODULE: [CALL METHOD OF 12 ('[Excel.Application.10]') 'Range' Imode 1002]*********************************************************************************************************************************

    Is there anybody know how to get that error message <i>"Unable to set the Hidden property of the Range class"</i>?
    SAP Version: 4.6C

    Hi,
    in SRM all messages are stored in the message handler. Also when you set a message within the check BAdI, the message is stored later in the message handler. If you want to know when a message is moved to the message handler, just set a break-point in FM BBP_PD_MSG_ADD.

  • How to catch error message inside a variable?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to catch the error message inside a variable using this this command below:-
    <%=odiRef.getPrevStepLog("MESSAGE")%>
    Could you please tell me what is the right approach to capture the error message inside a variable.
    Thanks
    Anindya

    Hi Bhabani,
    I have done this and select an oracle schema.But the variables only captures the (null).Please look into this.You must have one step prior to this refresh variable. Then only it can get the status as given below.
    Returns the one-letter code indicating the status with which the previous step terminated. The state R (Running) is never returned.
    D: Done (success)
    E: Error
    Q: Queued
    W: Waiting
    M: Warning
    If you want the complete error details then you will face issues in case of multi line message. For this best option would be jython variable.Could please provide me some idea how to use this jython variable.I will update you on this soon
    Thanks

  • How to access error messages from gateway response in browser?

    hi,
    i get 400 bad request as response with error messages and transaction id .
    i need those messages in my alert box.
    how to do it?
    thanks and regards,
    kartik

    Hi,
    Now just use below code.
      oModel.read( sRead, null, null, true, function(oData, oResponse){
                          alert("Read successful: " + JSON.stringify(oData));
    },function(oError){
                          alert("Read failed");
                       var oXmlData = oError.response.body;
                       var oXMLModel = new sap.ui.model.xml.XMLModel();
                       oXMLModel.setXML(oXmlData);
                        console.log(oXMLModel.getProperty("/message"));
                        console.log(oXMLModel.getProperty("/code"));
                        console.log(oError);
    with above code, you will be able to read the response from body. also no need to add messages to header that I mentioned in earlier reply.
    I believe with above code, you will be able to read exact error messages.

  • Error Message "waiting for response from user"

    When some people invite me to chat on Ichat, they get an error message saying "waiting for response from user."  On my end, I never get the invite.  Other people are able to invite me without any problem.  How do I fix this?  Is the problem on my end?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    I can see now where the issue is.
    A Jabber Buddy list can only accept Jabber Buddies.
    A Buddy List that Logs into AIM such as your @Me.com name can only add Valid AIM Names to it as Buddies.
    The main problem is that both Jabber IDs and AIM names can have the @symbol on them and look like email addresses.
    Example Jabber IDs
    Example "AIM " Names
    [email protected]
    ralphjonhsr  (No @)
    [email protected]
    [email protected]  (Apple ID type)
    [email protected]
    [email protected] (Apple ID type)
    any Facebook name
    [email protected] (Email registered with AIM)
    So your Jabber Buddy List will find that there is No (@)me.com Jabber server and say the message cannot be delivered.
    The AIM (@Me.com) Buddy never gets the Request for Authorisation for the same reason and the auto response of adding An ID/Name to Send a Message to starts iChat wanting that person to Accept or Decline being a Buddy- which they cannot do - so you get the name with the "Waiting for..." message.
    Either everyone gets a Jabber ID or everyone gets a Valid AIM Name.

  • EDI over WCF request-response port - how to catch failed messages and send response over a 2 way port

    I'm using BizTalk 2009.  I've written an orchestration for accepting 270's and returning 271's, and another for 276's and 277's.  The incoming and outgoing EDI stream is wrapped in XML.  I've published the schema using the WCF publishing wizard,
    and I am using the WCF-WSHttp adapter.  I have custom pipeline components to unwrap and wrap the XML, and to handle the NACK generated by the adapter.  Everything works fine if valid EDI is received.
    However, I'm challenged with handling failures from the EDI disassambler.  The specification I've been given is to return a 271 or 277 in all cases (or as many as possible).  What I would like to do is catch the failed message, generate a (271
    or 277) response, and return that response over the 2-way port.  I know how to enable failed message routing and how to subscribe to the message if it were to come in over a one-way port.  It seems that this cannot be done when the message comes
    in over a 2-way port.
    Any suggestions on how this can be done?

    I should have mentioned that turning off as much EDI validation as I can in the pipeline is already part of my approach.  However, to my knowledge, there are some validations (such as incorrect segment count in the SE) that cannot be disabled.
    Regarding the TA1/997/999 - because this is a real time transaction, I'm not generating any.  Still, to take your suggest, I decided to generate a 997, thinking I could at least subscribe to it and if the 997 indicated a failure, to
    generate the response (in the form of a 271 or 277) that my trading partner is expecting.  What I found was that the 997 was being returned through the send pipeline of the 2 way port, EVEN WHEN I set RouteAckOn2WayPort to False on the receive pipeline!
    This produces even more work for me, because now I have to "eat" the acknowledgement so that the 271 or 277 can get through.

  • Catch Error message from WLI Process

    Hi,
    I have a big application developed with WLI and I wanna know if there is a way to recive error messagem from this application throught the ALSB. The ALSB call a WLI jpd procces by BussinesProxy.
    For example, when occurs a database error into JPD proccess, I want to receive this error and log it or pass it to another application to nofify error and so one.
    All the procces in my WLI application were developed with ClientRequestWithReturn and I am thinking in put in this return one tag called <ERROR>ORACLE-0002 - JDBC ERROR bla bla</ERROR> in case off error and <ERROR>FALSE</ERROR> when everythig went OK at the WLI Application.
    Is there another way to do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Try throwing an RPC SoapFaultException from your JPD. That should make it back to ALSB as an error and does not count as "Unhandled Exception" by WLI. Although SoapFaultExceptions are a pain to create.
    Otherwise passing an error element back in the body has worked fine for me in the past.

  • Catch Error Message WAD Popup

    Hi all
    I have a report published in portal and now I have the necessity to show a message when the user execute this report. If the user execute this report and the process chain that update the information is running, I have to show the message "Update Process in Progress, Please Wait a Moment"
    Now I can show the message but I want show this message in a popup window, for ensure that the user can see it.
    Any Idea thanks.

    Hi,
    in SRM all messages are stored in the message handler. Also when you set a message within the check BAdI, the message is stored later in the message handler. If you want to know when a message is moved to the message handler, just set a break-point in FM BBP_PD_MSG_ADD.

  • Webservice response in BPM scenario

    I am doing a BPM scenario where I take data from ERP asynchronously using proxy and send it as a request to a third party synchronous webservice. The webservice gives a response and I am using the response to send it further along to other systems.
    Everything works fine if correct messages are sent and received. The problem starts when PI/BPM receives an un-expected response from the webservice. If the webservice sends an unknown error message in the response, the mapping fails and goes into the error queue. (smq2)
    And the real problem is every successful message or response after that also goes into the same queue and getting stuck. Why is this happenning? Do we need to monitor and clear the error queues all the time so that subsequent successful messages go through BPM corrrectly?
    Do you guys think it is a cache problem or something else?
    Thank you.

    this is because there is no proper error handling in your BPM.
    you need to handle the exceptions in case of mapping or communication failures.
