CatOS: Remove a etherchannel config

Hi,
I have a 6509 running CatOS 6.4. I want to remove those unnecessary port channel configuration entries from the configuration file or set them to default, so those entries wont show up in my configure file. Especially there are some port channel configure entries having only one port in it. It doesnt make sense to have the port channel configure staying there.
I know its easy in IOS. However in CatOS, I couldnt achieve this goal. Setting port channel mode to off wont help. I dont want to delete the port channel entry from the configure file then upload again. Are there any other commands I could use to achieve this? Any comments are welcomed!

Hi Ken,
Unfortunately, there is no elegant way to remove the superfluous 'set port channel' commands from the
config, so better leave it in.
If you really want to remove these unused port channels, you'll have to clear the config for the module, which is like trying to kill ants with a machine gun... :-)

I have a NW2004s system that will not start. The Message Server and IGS Watchdog are running, but the Dispatcher is in a yellow state.
The last thing that was done on the server before it was restarted was 2 JCO connections were added. Now the system will not start and I do not know how to remove the JCO connections.
I cannot find relevant configuration within the Config Tool or the Offline Configuration Editor. I am unable to access the Visual Administrator.

Hi,
If you created JCO connection, then you can remove as follows
1>go to Portal URL(Ex:http://102.26.88.65:50100/irj/portal)
2>Go to content administration ->webdynpro-> Maintain JCo connections ->Remove what ever your JCo conn created.
or search for the JCO connections you created in search box left -->delete

REMOVING IPSEC VPN CONFIG FROM PIX 6.3 FIREWALL

we have pix 6.3 serving as internet firewall and we are int process of replacing it with new ASA Device. currently there are several site to site and remote vpn are configured for access purposes.
i tried to remove one site2site ipsec vpn from pix and it starts acting like a loop generating the same error with qty that processor got 100% CPU, couldn't logged in through normal ssh so i connected via console and place back the isakmp and crypto map commands back in and the error stops.
My purpose of this question is that how can i remove vpn config from pix without generating any error is there any formal process or order of removing rules from pix or we can do it one by one no order is required.
MY PROCESS OF REMOVING CONFIG:
REMOVE THE ACCESS-LIST INSIDEOUT AND OUTSIDE IN COMMANDS
REMOVE THE OBJECTS AND OBJECTS GROUPS
REMOVE THE VPN DEFINED ACCESS-LIST FOR INTERESTING TRAFFIC
REMOVE CRYPTO MAP TRANSFORM-SET
REMOVE ISAKMP-POLICY
REMOVE CRYPTO MAP
WE DO USE ISAKMP SHARED KAY MECHANISM "I DID NOT REMOVE THAT "
BUT AS SOON AS I REMOVE THE CRYPTO MAP FROM THE PIX I GOT THIS ERROR
IPSEC(crypto_map_check): crypto map XYZ 20 incomplete. No peer or access-list specified.
20 IS THE ISAKMP POLICY NUMBER & Peer and Access-list was removed from pix

You could do either of 2 things.
1) Enable NAT-Traversal on your ASA
2) Add the following on your pix :
fixup protocol esp-ike
This allows one IPSEC connection to run through PAT.

Etherchannel - Config Question

First time configuring etherchannel. I have followed the documentation, watched videos, etc. The channel is up, but wanted to verify I did it right - and have not missed something.
Scenario:
Connecting a brand new 3650X into a 3750. The 3750 is the "Core" and does the layer 3 routing, etc. The 3650 is going to become a new Server Backbone - should participate on VLAN 10 only. All servers in our data farm will connect into it (eventually).
Normally we just create one trunk port on each switch and call it done (we do not have a big data farm/and or IT team) but I wanted to start looking at Etherchannel, etc.
Config - Core:

Well, of course, you want more than one link in your port-channel, both for additional aggregate bandwidth and additional redundancy.
You may want to review whether you're using the optimal hashing algorithm for your port-channel.

Etherchannel config

When configuring an etherchannel one a switch as a layer 2 channel. Does on configure the logical interface using "interface port-channel 1" command?
As a layer 3 channel its necessary to use the command to bind the logical interface to the physical using the "channel-group 1 mode auto" command. Are they configured differently?
Just need help with the difference.

You don't need to configure "interface port-channel" command for layer 2 etherchannels.
Once you configure "channel-group mode" command under interface configuration mode , interface port-channel will automatically be created with same number which you will used to configure channel-group.

Cross switch etherchannel config between two 6500 and 3750

Dear All,
I would like to design the network and got some problem, my network have one 3750 and two 6500, I would like to setup the etherchannel from 3750 (total two uplink port together), one link to the first 6500 and the other link to second 6500, one trunk between 6500 for redundance.
I tried to use PAgP (auto/desirable, on/on), but the channel misconfig error occurred, the etherchannel keep in suspected or standalone state.
Anybody can suggest/recommend some method for this case.

Unfortunately, you cannot create an etherchannel from one device to two different devices. for example, from 3750 you have gig 1/0/1 and gig 1/0/2. gig 1/0/1 of 3750 connects to port 1/1 of switch A and gig 1/0/2 of that same 3750 connects to port 1/2 of switch B. You can NOT create an etherchannel on 3750 to combine gig 1/0/1 and gig 1/0/2 to create a bigger pipe. That is not how etherchannel is designed to do.
However, if you have gig 1/0/1 and gig 1/0/2 on 3750 connecting to port 1/1 and 1/2 of switch A, you can create a channel on bith devices to create a bigger pipe (4 GBPS @ full duplex) and let's say that on that same 3750, you have an additional gig 1/0/3 and gig 1/0/4 that connects to ports 1/1 and 1/2 of switch B, you can create another separate channel that combines gig 1/0/3 and gig 1/0/4 and switch B's port 1/1 and 1/2, this scenarion is totally acceptable.
I hope that helps clear up channeling.
In your described scenario, channeling is not what you are asking, it's STP and you really do not need to do anything as STP is enabled by default, maybe you just need to make sure that the root is where you wnat it to be and that is configureable. With your looped physical topology, STP will prevent loop from forming and will give you the redundancy you seek as when one link fails, the ones blocked by STP would go forwarding once STP detects that it should forward that port.

Catos 7.4. losing config after reload

Hello,
A customer is having the following problem on severals sites.
After a reload, some cat6000-sup1a-withoutMSFC and some cat2948G all running release 7.4.3 lose some part (not all) of the configuration, after a reload.
Sometime the vlan configuration vanished, some other time the SNMP configuration disappeared.
Does anyone already get this kind of problem ?
I found no bug on the bug tools or on the RN for 7.4.x.

On one cat6X00, the sh version from the sh tech do not show me any checksum failure, but I can find this on the "sh log" from the console port after a reload (and loosing some part of configuration):

Removing RAID config

I purchased a used external LaCie drive that had RAID configured. when I connect I see two drives of equal size in disk utility. I would like to remove the RAID config and have it be one disk. Can someone tell me how? sorry if this is a redundant question (pardon the pun) but I searched thru help and this forum and cant find anything.

Open Disk Utility, select the RAID set from the left side list (the one with the RAID size) then click on the RAID tab in the DU main window. Select the main entry in the list view with the RAID Set label (it will also have the word "Online" in green), then click on the Delete button.
All data will likely be lost so if you have anything on the drive you want saved be sure to backup first.

10.7 Server - Remove RAID 0 ?

Hi, I recently upgraded my Mac Mini SL server to Lion server ... after having some troubles I reinstalled it.
I configured the drives (2x500GB) to be in a raid array (mirror).
Is it possible to remove the raid easily?
i was thinking of:
- Superduper the entire disk to an external device
- Remove the raid config leaving 2 separate disks
- Restore the superduper image to the first disk;
- (use the second one as a TM-backup).
I not quite happy with Lion as it is extremely slow. Opening safari or any othe application causes the system to not respond for a few seconds, even minutes. Could the raid config be a cause of these hickups?

Is the OS installed on the RAID drive? It seems really strange that everything would be so slow... are you sure both drives are healthy? Have you run Techtool Pro or some other disk utility on them?
As far as cloning the drive, your plan should work. I use CCC to clone my boot volume nightly, and can boot back and forth as needed. But if the drives are running poorly (the drives in the Mac Mini are like 5200 RPM laptop drives), it might take forever to clone.

PageFlow in adfc-config.xml or in task-flow defination not working.

I want to share the data across multiple pages for a given taskflow. Hence kept the bean in taskFlow scope in adfc-config.xml. But bean is not getting instantiated when i try to print its value in one of page in taskflow.

ISE continue to receiving authentication message after removed the radius host test configuration on a IOS router

I have two issues but related and need help:
anyone know how to disable or stop a radius host test message send every seconds from a IOS router after the test statement removed and all radius server information removed from the configuration? I have this odd testing for the new ISE server. the purpose of testing is not for load balancing, but find out if IOS support different protocol using radius other than PAP if PPP is not used. after the test, I cannot stop it. I have a case opened with Cisco, the answer is no way to stop it other than reboot the router. I tried to remove aaa new model and add it back, no help. I have put an access-list on the LAN interface deny the IP any to the radius host and port, no match found.
On the ISE (version 1.1.1), due to the IOS router test cannot be stopped, the alive authentication page fills up all the authentication failure messages. anyone know how to block the host from ISE live authentication log (the router has been removed from the device page)?
below is part of messages from the IOS router (version 15.0.1M6) debug. where 10.2.2.144 is the ISE IP and totally removed from the config. there is no any radius or the ISE IP in the config.

It seems reload is the only way to fix it. I don't think there is any way to stop or ignore messages for specific host in live authentication page of ISE. From security point of view it is required to logs all the authentication hits.

Version 15.2(1)E on 4900M globally enables ip device tracking and can't remove it

We wanted to upgrade our 4900M devices to version 15.2(1)E due to some feature for ipv6.
Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e-ENTSERVICESK9-M), Version 15.2(1)E, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
After the upgrade we started to get error-reports from users that they got duplicate-ip error messages.
The violating mac-address turned out to be from the upgraded switch where the vlan passed through, but the switch itself does not have an ip-address in that vlan. The devices reporting the error are also not connected to the switch.
We were a bit puzzled about that but then we found that after the upgrade there is an extra line in the config
"ip device tracking"
which is something we do not use, but we can't seem to remove it.
switchname(config)#no ip device tracking
% IP device tracking is disabled at the interface level by removing the relevant configs
however, there is no config defined on interface level, and even tried to disable it on interface level anyway, it makes no difference.
All the interfaces are enabled for ip device tracking as well, and we are also not able to remove an interface.
Searching the web we find that ip device tracking has been known to be responsable for duplicate-ip errors.
I have now configured the "workaround"
ip device tracking probe delay 10
Don't know yet if it will make a difference but i don't want to finetune or configure a feature we don't use, i would like to disable something which shouldn't have been there in the first place.
Any thoughts on how to disable the ip device tracking?

after configuring "no macro auto monitor" all the physical interfaces are removed from being IPDT enabled.
On the 4500-x switch in the lab that even meant all the interfaces and IPDT was disabled globally as well.
On our production switch (4900M) i seemed to see some different behaviour.
At first when i tried it, all the physical interfaces where "nmsp attachment suppress" was in place were removed from the IPDT.
After some investigation it turns out i also had placed globally "nmsp enable", since the suppress didn't seem to do anything.
Having "nmsp enabled" is thus a feature that makes ipdt active on a port, but you can counter it by setting nmsp attachment suppress.
In my case, since i originally didn't have nmsp enabled, i just disabled it again globally.
The "macro auto monitor" is apparently, as you point out, also a feature that will enable IPDT on a port.
Turning it off disabled IPDT on all the physical interfaces.
Which means i am close to a workaround but not quite, because it doesn't seem to work for the active port-channels.
It's a bit weird for the port-channels at first sight.
- configured port-channel, state not-connected -> not IPDT enabled
- configured port-channel, state up -> IPDT enabled
- if I shut down a port-channel , so state admin down -> the port-channel as well as the physical member-interfaces are made IPDT enabled. (which considering they are down shouldn't matter much, it is just odd)
Any thoughts on IPDT with port-channels?

Kde4-config: command not found (after upgrade of kde4 to version 4.6)

When I upgraded my KDE desktop to latest version, it seems that it has removed the kde4-config command.
Unfortunately I don't know which package it belongs to?
I get the error when I execute startkde script from ~/.xinitrc
I have tested to re-install KDE but it doesn't resolve my problem.
Anyone know which package it is?

Removing Finder's SlideShow's 100 image limit - possible?

Hi all,
I noticed OS X Finder's Slideshow application (context menu) is limited to 100 images. Is that something that can be removed through a config file anywhere? I once found the config file to change the time delay during the show but now can't remember where I did that! any advise?

In the Finder, select image files in a folder or on your Desktop. Then hold down the Control click as you click one, and choose Slideshow from the shortcut menu that appears.
Use the controls at the bottom of the screen to switch between the images:
To stop and start Slideshow's automatic playback, click Stop or Start.
To move forward and back manually, use the arrow keys.
To view all the images at once, click Index Sheet. Click an image to view it.
To zoom in to and out of an image, click Fit to Screen or Actual Size.
To add an image to your iPhoto library, click Add to iPhoto.
To exit the slideshow, click Close.
As I said, the only controls that show for me are the Zoom, Add to iPhoto, and Quit. None of the other controls appear, and the arrow keys do nothing.
I ran maintenance a few days ago, and will do so again, as soon as I'm finished the job I've started.
