CC 2014 Extremely slow, unusable

Here's my specs:
PC Laptop running Win 8.1
Intel i7 2GHz
8GB RAM
This computer is brand new, as in just bought today. Second app installed after a virus scanner was Dreamweaver CC 2014. I cannot use it to save my life. When I am in Code view (the main view I use) I cannot scroll a page. The scrollbar moves up and down but the code will not reflect the cursor position for up to 30 seconds. I have exited the CC app, signed out of my account, turned off sync, added exceptions to my real-time virus scanner for the DW directories...NOTHING is working. This is a static HTML file that is making a couple calls to CDN hosted javascript files and nothing else. The file is located locally, not on a network drive. Even if it was this is unacceptable. I had CS6 on my previous machine (same specs) and it ran like a dream. What is up with this version?

Hi Ryan,
Appreciate you taking the time to join for a remote session. We tested the issue on different touch-enabled hardware & could reproduce the issue using touch but not with mouse wheel.
We have logged a bug for this issue (3916384) & put it up for prioritization.
Can you re-confirm that the issue is also seen while scrolling using a mouse?
Thanks,
Subhadeep

  • Photoshop CC 2014 extremely slow after fresh intallation on MacBook Pro Late 2011, i7   8 GB RAM, Photoshop CS 5.1 performance OK

    Hi there,
I just installed Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 on my MacBook Pro Late 2011 with 8 GB RAM after already having installed CS 5.1 on my MacBook.
So I have both installed at the same time.
But: CS 5.1 is much faster! The first time opening CC 2014 was really shocking, because it was so laggy and still is, and I don't know why this is.
I didn't do any weird performance settings, neither did I change anything else. I open a document in CC 2014 and it takes nearly double the time
compared to opening the same document in CS 5.1.
And with CS 5.1 running the app Memory Clean tells me that i have 1.5 GB of free memory, with CC 2014 running my memory is completely in use.
Are there any tipps/tricks/issues with having both installed at the same time? Am I missing something that is leading to that specific performance
    issue?
I would be glad if someone could help me, because otherwise I have to say that upgrading to CC 2014 and buying the CC license for one year
didn't turn out to be a good thing.
    Thanks!

    Nothing here?
The MacBook now has 16 GB RAM, but not much change. Photoshop CS 5.1 performance is great after splitting the PSD into 3 different ones, Photoshop CC 2014 still much slower.
Does anyone experience the same problems, especially with many groups / layers / smart objects?
And is it possible to get back the money for purchasing the yearly CC license when I'm not satisfied with the product?
    Thank you.

  • Illustrator cc 2014 extremely slow

We have been using Illustrator cc with acceptable speed. But with cc 2014, the Illustrator becomes very slow. This does not happen with Photoshop cc 2014. We finally have to remove the illustrator cc 2014. Meanwhile, Photoshop cc 2014 is normal. Anyone has similar experience ? Any idea about the fix ?

  • PP CC 2014 - Extremely slow performance, weird realtime preview issues, constant crash/lockup

    Hiya
Since updating to the latest version of Premiere, it has become practically unusuable - it has become incredibly slow (I'm running on a 2012 Mac Pro with 20gb RAM (16gb allocated to PP), Mavericks) and realtime playback creates errors like below screencaps... The first is a greenscreen comp of 2 presenters in front of a simple video background and the car image should just be white text title on video.
Also been experiencing regular complete system lockups while using Premiere.
    Here's my system specs.
    2 x 2.4Ghz 6-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro
    20GB ram
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB graphics card
    Running 6TB eSata Raid (6gbit)
    100gb free on System Drive
Open to any suggestions (Have done all the usual restarts, preference repairs, software updates etc).
    Thanks

  • Premier Pro CC 2014 Extremely slow in Rendering-No Hardware Utilization

    Hi,
My name is Avinash and I am working as in-house Media production Specialist in BMC Software.
Earlier we had MacBook Pro for all post production with adobe CC. we faced so many rendering issues during last year using mac, so we decided to switchover to high End Workstation.
We procured Dell Precision Tower 7910 with Dual Intel Xeon Processors, 64GB Ram, Dual AMD Firepro W5100 GPU. Still I faced slow rendering, so called Dell Engineer to verify the hardware.
    It was all ok.
So here I am trying understand where is the bug ?
I have timeline around 51mins, sony nxcam shoot. added logo and text, monitored a render time which is around 5Hours. my cpu usage 4%, 6GB Ram and GOD knows if its using GPU
    but its very frustrating.
Kindly Help me sorting out the issue.
    Thank You

    What are you calling ..."Render"?
One renders a Sequence for preview and smooth playback of added FX etc for editing purposes (only)
One Exports a Sequence for a Display objective. Transcode
As a Media Production Specialist..you will be aware of the difference and the devil is in the detail.
GPU is used in Rendering of FX etc but not in Export.  CPU and Ram to a point is the power house.  Have heard anecdotaly...that anything over 16GB Ram is wasted  though in PPro
Must say ..seems low usage of CPU though and 5 hours is long for 51 mins.
Generally I find my system Exports  approximately at real time (sequence time or slightly better,

  • First time machine backup from MacBook Pro 13" (early 2011) on time capsule is extremely slow - unusable!

    I recently bought a Time Capsule 2TB.
First I set it up to create a new wifi network parallel to my existing wifi network. The first Time Machine backup on my MBP 13 connected via ethernet cable finished overnight (under 10 hrs for about 150 GB), as expected.
Then I found that my MBP was logging into my old network more often than to the time capsule network so that backups were not being made regularly. So I re-configured the Time Capsule to extend the exisitng network - all fine. Except that now Time Machine said it couldn't find the existing backup. After trying logging out and in, etc. I eventually deleted that sparsebundle to force Time Machine to start again new.
Now I get an estimated time of 2 - 3 days for the first backup - even via ethernet cable. Sometimes it hangs up and says something like 4000 days... I can't afford to hook my MBP up to the time capsule or even stay at home for this time to let it finish, and I know it should be faster than that!
I've tried a few of the tips I found so far in the forums, such as excluding my home folder from Spotlight, or even turning Spotlight off, but nothing has helped so far. Perhaps I missed some important step on the way.
Can anyone give me a reliable step by tep method to solve this problem. I don't want a geeky workaround, I want to plug in (o better, be in my wifi network) and make the backup work like Time Machine is supposed to do it. And I would like to keep on using Spotlight, too.
    Thanks in advance!
    Robin

Unless you have a desktop Mac you can back up to over your network, your choices are:
Spend a bunch on a Time Capsule, kind of a waste if you already have a wireless router.
Spend $100 or so on an external HD and have some inconvenience until Iomega updates.
    Risk losing all your data.
It's your call, but a no-brainer to me.
Better:  get a portable external.  Once you get the Iomega working, start making regular "clones" to the portable and take it off-site so you're also protected against fire, flood, theft, etc.

  • SQL Reporting Services 2014, Enabling Kerberos causes report manager to be extremely slow

We are migrating our environment from SQL Reporting Services 2008 to 2014 on a new server. We are currently using kerberos on the 2008 instance, but when I enable kerberos on the 2014 Reporting Services instance the Report Manager becomes extremely slow.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas of what I can check to see what is causing this problem.

Just to clarify it is not slow when I run a report, it is slow in general. From first load to accessing a folder, settings, etc. This is all before even executing a report.
The error I see while using Wireshark is KRB Error: KRB5KDC_ERR_BADOPTION NT Status: STATUS_NO_MATCH. When I drill down the into the
error I can see the kerberos string is testprjmnmtreports14.company.com, which is the URL we are using to access the site. I made sure to add that name as an SPN for the service account that is running SQL Reporting Services, however I still receive the error.
Then I tried configuring the site to run without a hostheader, so I accessed the site with the server name ECTSTSQLRS5 and the site works perfectly fine, no errors are reported either. So it seems I have isolated the issue down to Kerberos but I am not sure
how to resolve it. Here is some more information about my environment:
    DNS/URL used: testprjmnmtreports14.company.com
    Server Name (FQDN): ECTSTSQLRS5.company.int
    AD Domain Name: company.int
Server Version: Windows Server 2012 R2
    AD Functional Level: 2008 R2
I also have the following SPNs set for my SQL service account:
    http/testprjmngmtreports14.company.com
    http/testprjmngmtreports14
    http/ECTSTSQLRS5.COMPANY.INT
    http/ECTSTSQLRS5
As you can see I am trying to use a .com address but my AD domain is .int which I think is the issue, but I do not have the same problem on my other server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • Premiere 2014 Program Monitor extremely slow

    Hi CC Community,
I am running Premiere 2014 on 10.8.4 on a powerful machine with dual GTX 580s.
I have organized my project by film days, meaning each day has its own sequence that I can jump to and scrub through.
The problem I am encountering is this: whenever I switch from one day's sequence to another, the Program Monitor window takes a very long time to update. On the scale of 30 seconds or more. Most of my footage is 2K (some 4K), which my system can handle without issue, but it still chokes up terribly when jumping through sequences.
I just sat here for almost 10 minutes waiting for the monitor to update after closing 15 of my sequences. As I imagine it, Premiere choked on each of those 15 sequences before finally catching up to the day I wanted it to land on. I have two pieces of evidence that support this theory. #1, when Premiere FINALLY caught up with where I had the playhead, I saw a flash of numerous frames that came from the sequences I had closed and also, I monitored my CPU usage and it displayed what seemed to be a series of pretty intense calculations that were not necessary. See below:
Can anyone here, or from Adobe explain why Premiere is unable to efficiently jump through sequences?
I have a 12TB hard drive array that is connected to my motherboard and is blazing fast, so it is not an i/o issue.
My CPU power and GPU power is beyond powerful enough to deal with these projects.
I have not had this issue before with CC - this is the first time I am editing on the 2014 programs though.
I do have Lumetri on my files, but with a yellow timeline, not red.
My files are either .mov or .mxf (from Sony XDCAM codec)
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Sarthak,
I use Lumetri. That comes with the 2014 build though. I see no reason why it should be slowing Premiere down so much.
As I said, these issues didn't exist with Premiere CC. Have any more significant ideas as to why this is happening?
File import is also extremely slow.

  • Cineware extremely slow on Macbook Pro 2014

Hello, I recently bought a new Macbook Pro, but when I import a C4D file using Cineware it goes extremely slow. Every time I click (while the 3d file is on the stage) it takes at least 10 seconds before something happens, even when I put a simple cube.
The Cinema 4D software itself is working as it should be and is not slow.
There's no way to work properly this way, does anyone know what the problem might be and how I could solve it?
I didn't have this issue on my 2011 Macbook Pro.
    My specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
    Processor: 2,2GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536MB
    After Effects 13.2.0.49
    Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite
    Thanks in advance.

    2.2GHz Intel Core i7 processor
    16gb RAM (upgraded from 8gb)
Intel HD Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
It wasn't exactly going smooth on the 2011 one, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the one I have now.
I don't know if this is relevant, but video games run much better on the new one.
Also I cant select GPU under ray-tracing in the AE preferences > Previews > GPU Information. It says 'GPU not available - incompatible device or CUDA driver'. I've installed the CUDA driver, but I suppose it's worthless since I don't have an NVidia graphics card?
I don't know too much about hardware, but I hope it helps

  • Dreamweaver cc 2014 running extremely slow

Dreamweaver CC 2014 is running extremely slow - with essentially no response (using split mode or any other mode). My version of CC runs perfectly - quick & clean. I haven't changed anything - all I did was install the new CC 2014 and tried it out and it basically doesn't work. What is going on? I have a 2012 iMac - my OS is updated plenty of RAM, etc. I have a lot of fonts open but this has never effected any other program - just wondering if maybe behind the scenes its reading all of that stuff (why would it?).

    1.  Re: Dreamweaver cc 2014 running extremely slow
           Preran
I've determined why MY Dreamweaver 2014 was "slow." BUT AGAIN, I HAD NO PROBLEM running CC with the exact setup.
I'm running and I-Mac with OSX (version 10.9.4) 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 and 16 GB of 1600 MHz DDR2 ram.
I have 8 exterior drives with 10 Terabytes total.
I noticed lots of activity accessing drives when running Dreamweaver 2014. I unhooked all drives AND DREAMWEAVER 2014 acted "normal" with it's spinning cursor retired.
Again, no problem with all of the drives on while using Dreamweaver CC.
    Any thoughts from DreamWeaver/Adobe?
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • PP CC 2014 Gets Extremely slow the larger my project gets on a new Mac Pro

My editing team and I have 3 of the new mac pro 3.7 GHZ Quad Core with 12 GB Ram, OSX10.9.3. We edit a TV show and the longer the timeline gets the slower PP gets. The problem is gradual, but by the time I get a timeline that is over 10 minutes long PP becomes very slow and unresponsive. Once my show reaches the 30 minute mark it's extremely slow. The main problem is with playback. I hit play and it takes anywhere from 10 to 20 seconds or more to even start playing. I'm editing footage from a Sony FS 700 and a Sony PXW-Z100, 1080i footage with no effects. Color correction and audio mixing is painfully slow once my timeline is complete. We converted from FCP7 and never had this problem with that program on the same computers. This problem is the same on all 3 computers so this can't be an isolated issue with just one computer.

    Hi GW,
    GWVideo wrote:

Sorry about that. You say you work in a team environment. Are you with CC for Teams or do each of you have individual licenses?
Do you work with networked drives? How does the project work if media is on local drives?
Do you have a deep organization system where the media is in a folder inside a folder, inside a folder, etc.? What happens if you simplify naming conventions and folder organization?
Do you use long names for your clips and sequences? What happens if you try shorter clips names and sequences.
Do you store the preview files and media cache database locally and on a fast drive? If not, move these files to a local drive.
Does the audio sample rate match sequence settings precisely? Mismatched settings can cause performance issues.
Do you use the Warp Stabilizer effect liberally? The project can bloat if too many Warp Stabilizer effects are added.
Is the project file migrated from an earlier version of Premiere Pro? Never update a project file to a new version of Premiere Pro. Remain on the current version until that project is complete.
If so, any or all of these items could be the root cause(s) of the problem for poor performance. Do some tests and post back about your findings.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Zoom (Accessibility feature) is extremely slow with multiple monitors [OSX 10.10]

When connecting an external display to my Laptop and using the "Ctrl + Scroll" functionality for accessibility zooming, the display/graphics are extremely slow.
An estimate of FPS would be sub 1FPS. The machine becomes unresponsive and is unusable for a minute or so, until I can get it zoomed back out, and it begins responding normally.
This is very disruptive, as its a feature I use often.
The same laptop on OSX 10.9 did not exhibit this issue.
Hardware: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Mid 2014, 16GB Ram
    Software: OSX Yosemite 10.10
    System Information: http://cl.ly/image/0H1p032w0M0w
    Reproduction steps:
    1. Enable CTRL+SCROLL zoom functionality in System Preferences > Accessibility
    2. Connect external monitor (Display port cable)
    3. Hold CTRL and Scroll to zoom
    4. System becomes slow, graphics slow, showing < 1 FPS without any other applications running

Just to note, I have the same problem....
When you use Thunderbolt display with 15" MB Pro late 2013, it zooms unreasonably slow.
But when you close the laptop display and only have the Thunderbolt display on, it zooms a bit faster, but still too slow for such a new laptop.
I think it could be optimised a bit better, something somewhere can be improved here.
    Regards,
    Ned
