I have an image in a cell that I want to center vertically -

out how. Is this done through CSS? If so, what property and

use?

Can't vertically center text within a table cell with a picture next to it

I have a table and each cell has a picture in it (which was "cut" from another part of the document and "pasted" into the cells). Next to it, I typed a few words. I want the words to be centered vertically within the cell. However, everytime I click on the vertical centering in the inspector, it moves the picture and the text remains at the very bottom of the cell. The text is "tied" to the picture. I've tried everything... highlighting the text, same thing. Can't figure it out!! Is there any way to do this without inserting text boxes??

Vertical align works on text within text boxes and within table cells.
I have just checked this using a table with:
*1st cell* Inline Picture with caption under. Cell sizes to fit
*2nd cell* Same as first, picture scaled down. Text and image centre vertically.
*3rd cell* Caption only, vertically centred.
It works and I have wrap turn off on the image, before I pasted it in.
On rereading the O.P.'s post it seems to be saying contradictory things. That the text is "tied to the picture" which is what you would expect of inline graphics and that the text is stuck in the bottom the cell.
Without a picture and a better description of the problem we are none the wiser.
I am just guessing but perhaps the O.P. has the image and Inline graphic on the same line and can't understand why the bottom of the text and the bottom of the image are aligned.
If this is the case it is a misunderstanding of what inline graphic means. The image acts just like a character in the text and sits on the text baseline, it is not an independent object.
It is possible to shift text next to the image or the image itself by selecting either and altering:
+Inspector > Text > More > Baseline Shift+
But frankly you would be better separating the 2 and putting the text in the cell to the left or right of the image.

how can I center and vertical align an image so that it stays center and vertically aligned in the middle and on all devices???
Simply put I would like the image smack in the middle of every screen it is viewed on.

In CS4 Use of File Place Does Not Center Images

I have been using CS3 for about 1 1/2 years, so of course had to give CS4 a try. I downloaded the trial. I immediately had an issue with File > Place.
I often use File > Place to add additional items into a document. I believe the expected functionality of File>Place is that the file should then be centered in the document.
Here is what I have done:
+ Create a 12"x12" document at 200ppi (I have also tried to create a document at 2400x2400 pixels)
+ Use File>Place to add a square 2400x2400 pixel image (JPG file) into the document
+ The added layer is now offset ever so slightly in the new document.
+ Further observation shows that the horizontal reference point is at 1202 (screen shot attached), thus creating an offset from center. I change it to 1200 and sure enough the paper is centered perfectly. I thought maybe changing it once would make it the same next time, but that is not the case.
+ When I used the File>Place command, I was zoomed out (25%), and the entire image was viewable on screen. If I zoom out further, say 8.33%, the offset is 1206.
I am able to duplicate this on two different computers with the following configurations:

+ Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP2
+ AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (3.01GHz)
+ 4GB RAM
+ nVidia GeForce 8600 GT, driver version 6.14.11.5819

"Place" ..... It is not all the easy to understand how place works without studying its behavior. Often it will work in a way your not expecting if you do not understand how it works. There is a setting in Photoshop preferences Resize Image during Place. Un Checking this setting does not mean the image will not be resize nor does checking this setting mean that it will be resize. On top on top of that the seems to be something in Photoshop on My system that keeps changing the setting to the checked state.

There is a lot going on remember in Photoshop a Layer can be any size Larger/smaler/same as the canvas and can have any aspect ratio. If the placed image has more pixels them a canvas side size and the preference is checked the placed image will be transformed to fit within the canvas size. If not checked the placed image will transformed to the same dpi resolution so no pixels will be changed. The only time a place image is not transformed is when the the preference is not checked and the placed image file has the same dpi as the current Photoshop Document. In this cast the image is placed in at 100% size be it smaller/larger/same as canvas size.

Center text vertically in 6i

I was wondering if there was a way to center text vertically in a text field in forms 6i.
I have a banner at the top of my form as a text item, and I need the value(s) to be centered horizontally(which I have already done) and vertically which I am wondering how to do. Could someone please tell me how?

Help needed to add an image to a datagrid cell in actionscript

Morning all,
I am still quite new to flex development and I have an application which uses xml to populate a datagrid. One of the row columns should display a small image but I don't know how to do that.
Can anyone show me how to add an image to a datagrid cell in actionscript?

you cant just set image object to itemrenderer, you need to use classfactory.

Scaling of images in a table cell

I have an issue aboute the scaling of images in a table cell. The table layout is fixed but the images can vary. I tried to transform the images but every time the transformation matrix has a scaling != 1.0 the function results in an error.
The following code is used.

If this does not help to solve your issue open a ticket at SAP Support.
There are several UIElements which show such a behaviour and you have no (documented) chance to change this.

Vertical text in cell

I need to put text vertically in a cell. Any suggestions please?

In cell B2 I inserted 1234567890 and defined the cell format to text
In cell C2 I inserted azerty
In cell D2 I inserted the formula =B*2
You may see that even if a cell contains a number, we may display its content vertically.
Using a mono_spaced font would give a better result with text .

How can I select rows of cells and merge them vertically into one cell in each column?

I'm working in CS4 and need to be able to select 2 to 6 rows of cells (with many columns) in a table and then merge the selected cells vertically into one cell in each column. A few cells in the chart will not need to merge so I must select the ones that do. I have almost 100 pages of charts with cells that need merged this way by Tuesday. Please help!
Top chart example needs to change to the bottom example.

I m trying to insert image into my desired cell of my wordreport table,it is being inserted but into cells other than my described cell.How can i insert it in any cell that in which i want.I am going into my desired cell by Gotocell number function and Gotonext cell functions than after reaching into my desired cell of the table i insert image with the function insertimageincell,it is being inserted but not in that cell where i reside at that time.

I am sorry that I did not see this post earlier, but I have been away from the forums for a few weeks. I actually know the exact issue you are facing and it is a bug that we fixed in CVI 2012. The problem is with the GoToCell function working correctly in newer version of Microsoft Word. If you cannot upgrade to CVI 2012, there are a couple of options to work around it. 1) Use a Word doc with the 97-2003 file format. You can create a blank Word document and select Save As >> Word 97-2003 Document. If you load this Word doc instead of creating a new one, the GoToCell function will work properly. Likely, you do not need the features of the later version of Word anyway. 2) Alternatively, you can use the WriteToCell function with a blank string instead of GoToCell. WriteToCell lets you specify which cell to write to. Once it writes the string, it leaves the cursor there which allows you to then place your image.
This is related to known issue with bug ID 335556.

2 questions - change image size within print cell, and saving print template w/ specific images

Hi,
Searched the forums for the answer to these but couldn't find much.
1. Is there a way to change the image size within a cell (under print module). For example, zoom in 140% on a a specific image but still have it within the original cell size?
2. Say I create and fill in an elaborate print template with my images - is there a way to save the FILLED IN version of the template to edit at a later time? For example if I wanted to load it back up w/ all the original images layed out in the print template, but maybe change a few and resave as jpeg?

I'm not sure but maybe you can use a rectangle to hold the .ai image, resize the rectangle and fit proportionally the image inside it

Photoshop CS4 Printer Controls will not center images

I have two Epson Printers-The Stylus Pro 4000 and the Stylus Photo 1280, both several years old. I have downloaded and installed the most recent drivers for each. When printing from CS4 to either printer, and using the "center image" choice, I cannot get the print to be centered with equal margins on opposing sides. I have read various articles on how to do this, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

another problem which i am having relative to my switch from PC
Windows XP to OSX relative to a concurrent switch from CS3 to CS4.
The color ICC printer profiles for my Epson 4000 have not been
recognized by CS4 printer dialog box, though Lightroom 2 does find
them. They still exist in a file in the Library. I am not sure
whether the OSX operating system and CS4 require a different format
for the profiles (ie. some connection with the Colorsync utiltity?)
In any event, I note your new book on CS4 is out. Would that deal
with this issue?

How to insert an in-line image into a table cell using Pages on OS X?

How can I insert an image into a table cell using Pages (OS X) without it becoming the cell background? I want it to be a regular in-line image, but can't figure out how to do this for the life of me. Thanks!

Welcome to Discussions.
To insert an image into a cell, select the cell, then go to the Graphics Inspector and from the Fill drop down choose Image Fill and then select then image you want. You can now select from a new drop down how you want the image to fit.

I guess that my 36725 points prove that I may be helpful. It seems that at this time you don't really know what are helpful answers.
Using spreadsheets since more than twenty years, I know that storing something in an auxiliary object floating upon a cell isn't a serious workaround to the asked question. We may be sure that more or less soon, the object will no longer be were it was supposed to be.
At this time, if we want to put a vertical text in a cell it's safer to insert a character, a linefeed, a character, a linefeed … which, one more time is echoing the stammering question.
