CF8 cfflush not working

I cannot get <cfflush> to work on a CF8 server. I am
doing a simple cfoutput, running a cfx sleep tag, and then
outputing more text with a cfoutput. On my CF6.1 server (which is
identical besides the version of CF), this works correctly. On the
CF8 server, nothing is displayed until the whole page finishes.
Both servers are running on Windows 2003 IIS 6. I'm returning
a large chunk of text in both cfoutputs, so it's not the browser
complaining that there is not enough text.

What browser and web server did you use for the test? IIS
buffers the content by default and IE seems to buffer (or is it
cache related) as well. I just tested your code on CF8 in a
multiserver configuration with an IIS web server connector. Both
Firefox and IE experienced the same buffering in that
configuration.
I further tested the file using the built-in web server of
CF. With IE, the buffering occurred (IE buffering/cache), but when
I used FireFox with the CF built-in web server, no buffering and
flushing worked as expected, multiple refreshes as well and still
no cfflush problems with the built-in CF web server and Firefox.
You might want to consider looking into a UI re-design for
providing the user status on a long process by delivering a quick
layout and then through periodic polling, grab an updated status of
the process via AJAX.

CF8 install not working

I need some help :).
I get this error after installing coldfusion 8 on redhat
enterprise linux 4.
Starting Macromedia JRun 4.0 (Build 108487), coldfusion server
coldfusion could not be started because it is already running.
the thing is though, it isn't already running. i can't find
anything in the PS list related to coldfusion.
this is the 5th cf8 updagre/install i have done. each time i
have used the same install process. on this server, it fails.
the only difference is this server also runs mysql and cacti.
its a development/admin server. any ideas on resolving this?

Please check the port on which coldfusion 8 is installing is
already in use or not. Do it by using netstat -an and grep the
coldfusion 8 port. Also check the process of coldfusion are they
running. I think that the port is already in use.

Client variables not working in Apache and CF8

I have Apache and CF8 set up with multiple virtual hosts
locally for development(win xp pro, apache 2.2.4)
Client variables are not working. I can log into CF
administrator fine(not sure if authentication uses client variables
or not). Any site that I work on that uses client variables behaves
as if the variable is not defined after setting it then going to
another page that checks for its existence. I have verified that
client variables are set up in cf administrator.

CF8 Flash forms nor server monitor not working on authenticated server

Have bee troubleshooting an issue with the server monitor and
flash forms not working on a CF8 server that is completely

In the pre-cf8 days, we had implemented the following "fix"
for NT Authentication with CF Templates

However, when I uncheck the "Check that file exists" flag in
IIS6, both the server monitor and the CFFORM type = flash are now
both working. Am I making a tradeoff between NT security and
Flash/Flex?
My question is this, is the "fix" referenced in the KB
article abonve still needed for CF8?
If so, do I have to decide between security and Flash/Flex or
is there a way to have both NT security and flash/flex on the
server?
If not, I would suggest that somebody from Adobe make an edit
to the KB article pointing out that the "Fix" is not needed for CF8
and if implemented will break the server monitor and flash forms
and Flex on that CF server.

I mean when I open the administrator and click on Launch
Server Monitor it does nothing. Does not open and as far as I can
tell no error is generated or logged. If I open it outside of the
the administrator it opens but when I click on Statistics or Alerts
I get a logon Server Monitor logon box that tells me that the
ColdFusion Server is not started.

CFHTTP and Scheduled Tasks not working after CF8 Upgrade

I have recently upgraded to ColdFusion 8. My scheduled tasks
in the ColdFusion Administrator do not work anymore. I ran them
manually without the ColdFusion Administrator from the server and a
local machine via Internet Explorer 7 and they work. I tried to run
the same scheduled task with the same URL via CFHTTP in a CFM page
and this does not work. The logs are not giving me any error
messages. Has anyone run into this? Is this a bug with CF8 or even
an IIS issue? ColdFusion is on a Windows 2003 SP2 server.

Web service is not working in tranported server

i have developed a webservice in server 1 and have used that webservice wsdl file in adobe form it is working fine in server1. I have transported adobe form in Server2 but webservice in that server is not working ..
can u tell me what is solution for this ??

we have already a "rt.jar" file in a location and we defined this location in CF Admin >> java jvm >> classpath
so this file was conflicting.
i simply removes this file path from CF Admin.
and restart the CF services.
and my web service start working.

Performance Monitor Will Not Work

The checkbox for Enable Performance Monitoring under the
debugging options tab in my CF8 install will not stay checked. Also
when I try to use the performance monitor to monitor CF8 it does
not work. Any ideas?

CF7 migrated to 8, applied fix as in kb402900 but no change
for me... cfstat can't find cfserver and no instance available in
perfmon
however i DID get it to work... it looks like the migration
process made .bak of all the xml files

i noted that cfstat port in the old shows
<string>7999</string> and in the new cf8 it shows
<number>7999</number>
the entries are also in a different order (but i'm guessing
that shouldn't be a problem..right???)
i renamed neo-mertic.xml to neo-metric.cf8 (as backup) and
renamed neo-metric.bak (the cf7 version) to neo-metric.xml ,
restarted cfservice and now cfstat works and there's a jrun
instance in perfmon
you may be able to fix it by simply changing
<number></number> to <string></string> in
the existing version of neo-metrics.xml (unless the tag order does
count)...I didn't try that...
note: I had already applied the dll fixes so that may or may
not be required...

HELP - CF8 administrator not loading

We recently downloaded and installed the trial version of CF8 becuase of issues we were having withour website. it appeared that was going to be the fix so we purchased the software. (CF8 Standard). I got the license and wanted to apply it but I couldn't get into the administrator program. I was told that it could not be applied to the trial version and I would need to uninstall and reinstall from the download. so I did. when I went to install the software it asks for the old serial number. which I don't have one. the screen gives another option to choose Devolper. I chose that and entered the serial number. I went through thte install with no errors and clicked finish with the check to open the administrator. well no matter what I try I cannot open it. I've tried the port 8500, localhost, 127.0.0.1, you name it. the message is that the page cannot be displayed with a 400. I called customer support and they said it was technical but tech support isn't helping me. I found several articles pertaining to the same thing but none worked for me.
I really need to get this going since our website is not working becuase of it. any help would be apprciated.

@Techy_20, are you sure CF is indeed up and running? You could have JRun start but the CF web app (within it) not running. You can't rely solely on seeing the jrun process running or not. Also, have you looked at the logs (both cf/logs and cf/runtime/logs) to see what they may report?
You say that the Admin is not "loading". Well, the admin can be started a couple of ways, either using your external web server (IIS, Apache, etc.) or via CF's internal web server. That is a choice on installation (or that can be changed later using the web server configuration tool). Do you recall what choice you made on install? And since this is on Windows, and CF8 Standard, are you on the box where CF is installed? If so, use start>programs>adobe>coldfusion 8. Do you see the Administrator choice? What happens when you choose that? And if you're not on the box (or want to open the admin remotely), still, try that first (on the box). What happens then? You may learn a lot from trying that, before trying to access it remotely.
Let us know if any of that helps.

Go to V/N1 transaction select your self defined access sequence then go in to the accesses and fields and check all fields are activated.
Make sure that these fields are flowing in your sales order.

Partner application logoff not working

We have a partner application registered with sso with custom login screen. The login works fine. We use the following code to logoff the partner application in logoff.jsp

session.invalidate();
but the logoff is not working properly. It is not invalidating the session and the logout http request is not going from the application server to the sso server.
Are there any additional configurations for SSO logoff.Any help is appreciated.

The WF should also trigger if i add the Partner function in UI.If i change any Attribute the WF triggers but i dont want to change the attribute when i add the partner function.
If i have only one event for WF that is Partner Change the WF will not trigger it for the 1st time when i save the UI. But next i come to the same saved doc and add a partner function then the Wf triggers.
So this means that Partner change is active.
the issue here is i need to trigger the WF on , the 1st time i save the UI, for which i wil be using Attribute Change and next time when i come back to saved doc the and add only the partner function and no changes are made to attributes the WF should again trigger.
