CF8 on Weblogic 10.0 and Apache
I am trying to configure CF8 as an EAR file on Weblogic 10.0
and configuring it with Apache webserver. The settings for Weblogic
are made as mentioned in the configuration document and CF8 is
working fine on Weblogic.
Now for Apache connectivity, a connector is configured for
Weblogic which handles *.cfm files requests as well.
- The CFM files are kept in webserver and when I try to open
a cfm file, the proxy is getting invoked but since Weblogic doesn't
find the file URI it returns 404.
- Please let me know how can the CFM files kept on Webserver
be rendered using CF8 deployed on Weblogic
Or there is a need for these files to be kept on the Weblogic
Appserver only

Sure. If you want to put a file example.cfm in a WAR file,
put it in the
root of the WAR. Your folder structure will look something
like:
WAR/
WAR/example.cfm
WAR/WEB-INF
WAR/WEB-INF/web.xml
WAR/WEB-INF/*
WAR/WEB-INF/cfusion
WAR/WEB-INF/cfusion/lib/
etc.
Then if you have a context root "/test" in your
Application.xml you can
reach your template through the URL
http://server/test/example.cfm
The best way to get a WAR (or EAR) file for deployment is to
run the
installer. It has the option to generate a WAR or EAR for
you. Use that,
then later unjar it to see how it looks internally.

WebLogic 9.2 and Apache 2.2.X
Does anyone know whether BEA supports WebLogic 9.2 with Apache 2.2.X web server? If so, is there any documentation? Which wlproxy do you use? If not, does anyone know when BEA will support this? By the way, we are running on Solaris 10. Thanks!
As far as I am aware there are on only plugins for Apache 1.3.x and 2.0.x.
I believe the documentation for WLS9 recommends Apache 2.0.x using a multi-threading mpm such as worker. This is what I use on our setups both Solaris (9 & 10) and Linux (RHEL 4)
Anyone from BEA know if an Apache plugin for 2.2.x is planned? -
Cookie will not write using weblogic 5.1 and Apache
Hi,
I'm having problems having my application write cookies under the UNIX environment. It works fine under
the NT environment. Could this be a problem with the Apache plugin and weblogic 5.1???
Under the UNIX environment, it will not write to the cookies at all. Is it because I have weblogic and apache
on two sperate machines?? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Wayne
There is no apache 2.x plugin for WLS 5.1.
Sorry,

Problem with SSL weblogic plug in and Apache
We're using mod_wl_22.so with Apache, and after some problems with the mod failing on startup it is now working. We can access the weblogic SSL page fine directly on port 16101 with no warning, when we try via the proxy we get a failure of server Apache bride --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF. And in the wl_proxy.log there is a message that I think relates to the trustedcertfile in our http.conf file. We have a root certificate in pem format as the trustedcertfile.

Thu Jan 27 21:52:16 2011 <258812961651354> request [irm_desktop] did NOT process successfully..................I see that it is six months ago that I first posted this. Nothing has changed. When I use affixa to create a message with an attachment from my gmail account in firefox, the message is created in drafts, but the gmail window is closed and I have to re-open it. Not critical, but annoying.
Now there is a plug-in on the affixa site that is supposed to be designed for Firefox, and which affixa support claims should take care of this. And I've downloaded it twice. When you download it and open it, it says that it will be installed when Firefox restarts, and gives you a button to restart Firefox. But after you click that button and firefox disappears and re-appears, the affixa plug-in is NOT in the plugin list.
Please, somebody, HELP. -
SSL connectivity - Weblogic 8.1 and Apache web server 2.0
I'm using a Apache web server 2.0.64 as a front end web server for Weblogic server v8.1 sp6. I have managed setup the connection between both server and now i want to configure the SSL connection Apache web server. However i have face some problems with the SSL connection and i can't figure out the problems. I'm using the ssl.conf* to do the SSL connection. Here are the changes i did on my ssl.conf:
SSLRandomSeed startup builtin
SSLRandomSeed connect builtin
#<IfDefine SSL>
Listen 443
SSLPassPhraseDialog builtin
SSLSessionCache dbm:logs/ssl_scache
SSLSessionCacheTimeout 300
<VirtualHost default:443>
DocumentRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/apache2/htdocs"
ServerName 10.122.50.218:443
ServerAdmin [email protected]
ErrorLog logs/ssl_log TransferLog logs/access_log
SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile conf/ssl/server.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile conf/ssl/server.key
</VirtualHost>
#</IfDefine>
When i testing the application, it comes out :
NOT Found
The requested URL /secureWebAuth/ was not found on this server.

I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
<VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
# Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
SSLEngine On
SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
</VirtualHost>
This works fine
Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
WebLogicPort 16101
Debug ALL
SecureProxy ON
WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
</IfModule>
<Location /service>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
</Location>
Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.
[Mon Jun 07 23:00:48 2010] [crit] (20014)Internal error: WL SSL Init failed for server: (null) on 0
but Apache starts... I get this error when I make a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service
Failure of server APACHE bridge:

Looking into the log /tmp/wl-proxy.log I see....

I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

Hi,
We are developing an application using WebLogic ejb and servlet and we
are planning to use Apache as the HTTP server. Are there any know
issues about this combination?
According to the manual, the mod_proxy of Apache can be used to link
Apache and Weblogic. Has anybody done that?
Thanks,
Cecil Pang

This doesn't sound like a definitive answer. Are you saying we will NOT
support you if you use Apache?
Should it work? What are people doing wrong? The answer below isn't
much help IMHO.

Weblogic 8.1 SP1 + Apache 2.0.46/44 Plugin Problem
Hi,
Im using apache 2.0.44/46 HTTP Server to proxy request
to my Weblogic 8.1 SP1 server. The HTTP server and
Weblogic server are running on two different machines
in a non clustered environment. I have copied
mod_wl_20.so available in /root/bea/weblogic81/server/lib/linux/i686/
into my apache_home/modules directory. The HTTP Server and the weblogic
server are installed in a linux system. The details of the machines are
as
follows:
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 15
model : 1
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60GHz

cpu MHz : 1614.399

apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi
mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm
bogomips : 3224.37
My httpd.conf look something like this:
<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin [email protected]
ServerName 11.1.14.17
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost WebLogicHost
WebLogicPort 7001
WLLocalIP 11.1.14.18

</Location>
<Location /xyz
WebLogicHost 11.1.14.18
WebLogicPort 7001
SetHandler weblogic-handler
</Location>
</IfModule>
</VirtualHost>
After setting this up.. i have restarted the weblogic
server too.
When i try to access the url http://11.1.14.17 i get
the following error in the apache log
[Wed Feb 11 23:49:25 2004] [error] NO_RESOURCES: [os
error=99, line 1440 of ../nsapi/URL.cpp]: bind()

The error message shown in the browser is as follows:
Failure of server APACHE bridge:

after 15 seconds.
Please let me know how to get around this problem. Is
this a problem with the setup.
When i place the apache server in the same system
where my weblogic server is running, it works
perfectly fine.
One more question.. whats the difference between the mod_wl_20.so
available in the server/lib/linux directory and the one available in
the
bin directory?
thanks
-AjayHello
Have you got any solutions to your problem yet? We are getting same kind of problems
with WLS 8.1 SP1 and Apache 2.0.48. If you have any ideas please contact me at

My httpd.conf look something like this:
<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin [email protected]
ServerName 11.1.14.17
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost WebLogicHost
WebLogicPort 7001
WLLocalIP 11.1.14.18

</Location>
<Location /xyz
WebLogicHost 11.1.14.18
WebLogicPort 7001
SetHandler weblogic-handler
</Location>
</IfModule>
</VirtualHost>
After setting this up.. i have restarted the weblogic
server too.
When i try to access the url http://11.1.14.17 i get
the following error in the apache log
[Wed Feb 11 23:49:25 2004] [error] NO_RESOURCES: [os
error=99, line 1440 of ../nsapi/URL.cpp]: bind()
system call failed
The error message shown in the browser is as follows:
Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out
after 15 seconds.
Please let me know how to get around this problem. Is
this a problem with the setup.
When i place the apache server in the same system
where my weblogic server is running, it works
perfectly fine.
One more question.. whats the difference between the mod_wl_20.so
available in the server/lib/linux directory and the one available in
the
bin directory?
thanks

Sessions wth WL8.1 and Apache Plug In
We are currently facing problems with session failover with WL 8.1(SP4) and Apache(2.0.54) plugin.
Just wanted to know if session replication works across different subnets.
We have Managed Servers running on different subnets which are part of a single cluster. Session replication works (tested with the sample InMemRepClient application supplied with weblogic) when machines within the subnet are up and fails when machines within the same subnet are down, although machines are up in a different subnet.
Does weblogic allow session replpication to work across different clusters with different subnets?
Is this a limitaion with WL8.1 and is this session replication work across subnets with WL9?
Thanks.I believe that we recommend having all the managed srevers in a single subnet. However, even if the cluster spans more than one subnet, you can configure the Multicast Time-To-Live (TTL) parameter for the cluster and it will work fine. Please have a look on following pieces of documentation:
"If Your Cluster Spans Multiple Subnets in a WAN" on http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/cluster/features.html
And
"Configure Multicast Time-To-Live (TTL)" on http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/cluster/setup.html#732108
Hope this helps. -
WLS 6.1 SP2 and Apache 1.3.26 Windows NT/2000
Hi,
Is there an Apache plugin available for WLS 6.1 (SP2) and Apache 1.3.26 running
on Windows NT/2000?
thanksI've solved my own problem. I learned that there was a sp4 (let alone a
sp3) for WLS. Installed that and the problem went away. Sorry for the
noise.

I'm using version 1.1b3 of struts. I'm having no problems with

I'm guessing its complaining about the manifest file in struts.jar,
but I don't understand why.
Here's my version info and the stack trace (my web app is called
findme in this example). Thanks in advance.

WLS 6.1 SP3 and apache plugin
Hello,
I have WLS 6.1 SP3 and apache 1.3.26 installed on solaris 8.
I enabled the weblogic Weblogic Plug-In Enabled for my wls server and
then I configured my apache server like the following:
1) I used mod_wl.so that comes with wls under
\bea\wlserver6.1\lib\solaris
2) Then I loaded that module using APACHE_HOME/bin/apxs -i -a -n
weblogic mod_wl.so
When I load the module I get the following:
[Thu Jan 15 10:05:53 2004] [warn] Loaded DSO libexec/mod_wl.so uses
plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI!
please recompile it with -DEAPI)
/usr/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd started
I don't understand that message
3) The following lines were added to httpd.conf:
LoadModule weblogic_module libexec/mod_wl.so
AddModule mod_weblogic.c
4) Then I added the following to the httpd.conf:
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost 10.1.10.205(my weblogic IP)
WebLogicPort 7020 (my weblogic port)
FileCaching On
MatchExpression *.jsp
</IfModule>
The problem is that the apache server is not able to redirect the jsp
calls to the WLS server and I'm always getting "The page cannot be
displayed"
Any information that might guide me to solve this problem is appreciated

WebLogic 8.1 and Tomcat connection problem
I am using Tomcat 4.0.6 for my JSPs and WebLogic for my EJBs.
Everything worked fine under WebLogic 6.1 but I am trying
to upgrade to WebLogic 8.1 and it is not working.
I can also connect to WebLogic 8.1 from a standalone class
but not using Tomcat. What is wrong?
This is the basic code I am using to connect:
Hashtable ht = new Hashtable(4);
ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"t3://localhost:7009");
InitialContext ic = new InitialContext(ht);
Object obj = ic.lookup("NsbInfoHome");
NsbInfoHome home = ( NsbInfoHome) PortableRemoteObject.
narrow(obj, NsbInfoHome.class);
NsbInfo nsbInfo = home.create();
NsbMemberPrimaryInfo info = nsbInfo.getMemberPrimaryInfo(1);
And this is the error

Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks,
DanHi,
I work under a sligthly different seeting like Dan used (Java Client instead of JSPs, but same context properties), but the problem is exactly the same: weblogic.rmi.internal.StubGenerator.getStubOnClient() results in a NullPointerException.
What does this method actually do? I provided the weblogic.jar in the client's runtime environment; is it possible that the method asks for something else on the client side that I have to provide (only guessing...)
PS: I found the error myself. Its the Eclipse 3.0 IDE that won't work together with the factory class of BEA for some obscure reason. Switching to another IDE solved the problem...
