Cfgridcolumn select breaks table

I'm using a cfgrid to make a table.  If I put in a select = no statement like:
<cfgridcolumn name = "bedNum" header = "Room" headerAlign = "center" width = "75" select = "no">
it returns an error:
Invalid data for CFSQLTYPE CF_SQL_INTEGER.
As soon as I take it out, the grid works fine when I submit an update of a row.  All i'm trying to do is not allow users to edit certain fields that are in the table but be able to alter others.

there is in the cfgrid tag the ability to make the table editable.  Then in the cfgridcolumn tag you are supposed to be able to make fields so that users can't selecct them.  That is what I am doing.  It works until I try to update one of the rows.

  • Fixed columns in dynamic report ( ?horizontal-break-table:1? )

    Hi
I have a dynamic report that could strech over more than one page horozontally. I use the <?horizontal-break-table:1?> tag on my first header column to show this on every page, but I also need to show the last column on every page. That meens that I have a fixed column on each end of my dynamic report, the last one is just a signatur field so its no logic to it , but its important to show it on every page.
    Any tips on this ?
    PS.
Sry if this is a noob question, this is not really my knowlegde area, but have to fix it anyhow :)

    Robert,
It sounds like you want a completely populated table regardless of the input data.  To achieve you will need to create a "dummy table" in your database, either as an actual table, or by just doing a view, it's your choice.  Here is a method for the view:
    select '2009-M01' as Dim1
    union
    select '2009-M02' as Dim1
    union
    select '2009-M12' as Dim1
Next you'll have to introduce this to your universe as a "dummy table".  In WebI, go to Edit Query and click add query, then add Dim1 to your result objects panel.  After you run your query you can perform Merge Dimensions on Dim1 to the first dimension from your report, and voila, you'll have a fully populated table.
    Thanks,

  • Diff b/w select endselect and select into table............

    Akshitha..

    Hi,
When ever u want to append data into the workarea then use select ... endselect. When u r appending data into the internal table then use select. Also when u use select single then also use only select.
    Eg: Using only Select
data : begin of itab occurs 0,
    lifnr like lfa1-lifnr,
    end of itab.
select single lifnr from lfa1 into itab.
data itab like lfa1 occurs 0 with header line.
select * from lfa1 into table itab.
    Eg: Using Select .. endselect.
    data : itab like lfa1 occurs 0,
    wa like lfa1.
select * from lfa1 into wa.
    append wa to itab.
    endselect.

  • KUP-01005 error when selecting external table

    Hi All,
My name is arun. I am having trouble resolving the following error. I tried to google, search oracle forum but no avail. I would really appreciate some help? I hope someone point me to the right direction with this problem. Thank you.
    Scenario :
I have done the following :
    1. Created the external directories using a user account(KDEV199). However by default its owned by SYS user.
    2. Created the table necessary for selection. This was done by user account(KDEV199)
    3. I have granted the folder privileges owned by oinstall:oracle where the 2 physical files exists. Thus all the files is owned by oracle. This was done at OS layer.
    4. I have created 2 files necessary to extract data & read in oracle. This was done at OS layer.
The problem is that i have the following when i try to select the table :

  • "Select" Physical table as LTS for a Fact table

    Hi,
I am very new to OBIEE, still in the learning phase.
    Scenario 1:
I have a "Select" Physical table which is joined (inner join) to a Fact table in the Physical layer. I have other dimensions joined to this fact table.
In BMM, I created a logical table for the fact table with 2 Logical Table Sources (the fact table & the select physical table). No errors in the consistency check.
When I create an analysis with columns from the fact table and the select table, I don't see any data for the select table column.
    Scenario 2:
In this scenario, I created an inner join between "Select" physical table and a Dimension table instead of the Fact table.
In BMM, I created a logical table for the dimension table with 2 Logical Table Sources (the dimension table & the select physical table). No errors in the consistency check.
When I create an analysis with columns from the dimension table and the select table, I see data for all the columns.
What am I missing here? Why is it not working in first scenario?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    SP

    Hi,
If I understand your description correctly, then your materialized view skips some dimensions (infrequent ones). However, when you reference these skipped dimensions in filters, the queries are hitting the materialized view and failing as these values do not exist. In this case, you could resolve it as follows
    1. Create dimensional hierarchies for all dimensions.
    2. In the fact table's logical sources set the content tabs properly. (Yes, I think this is it).
When you skipped some dimensions, the grain of the new fact source (the materialized view in this case) is changed. For example:
Say a fact is available with the keys for Product, Customer, Promotion dimensions. The grain for this is Product * Customer * Promotion
Say another fact is available with the keys for Product, Customer. The grain for this is Product * Customer (In fact, I would say it is Product * Customer * Promotion Total).
So in the second case, the grain of the table is changed. So setting appropriate content levels for these sources would automatically switch the sources.
So, I request you to try these settings and let me know if it works.
    Thank you,
    Dhar

  • How to create a "Selection Conditions" table similar to that found in se11?

    Hi,
My team is trying to develop a SAP data migration tool (DMT) using ABAP.
One of the functionalities in the DMT is to validate the data imported to the staging area tables against some reference tables (e.g. SAP tables).
To do this, I would need to have a "Selection Conditions" table similar to that found in se11 (se11--> Display "View" --> Select "Selection Conditions" tab). This table would allow me to specify my 'referencing' conditions (e.g. Table = "ZMYTAB", Field = "ZMYFLD", OPERATOR = "EQ", Comparison Value = "ZMYTAB2", AND/OR = "").
Are there any ready-made codes out there for such a "Selection Conditions" table? Or did SAP provide a built-in object for such a table?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

personnally I do use the standard FMs for dynamic selections

  • Html form for select * from table a

    Hi all,
I m looking for report on header/footer part from one apex pages
which will display context from table a, like sql statement
select * from table a, written in html.
Is any examples in java script/html select from tables
(and same insert into table A (...) select * from table b)
    thanks,
    Gordan

    Hello Gordan,
Do you want to show the whole report or just some data of it?
If it's for ex just the name and address you could create two items and have a process or computation to fill it with your select statement.
If it's the whole report, just create the report and put it in for ex. Region 1. In your page template you can specify that Region 1 needs to come into the footer.

  • How do I do SELECT * FROM TABLE WHERE KEY IN ({list})?

The title says it all really.
Is there a reasonable performant way to perform the query
SELECT * FROM TABLE WHERE KEY IN ({list})where {list} is String []?
    I am currently creating a PreparedStatement with a for loop like this   StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer ("SELECT * FROM TABLE WHERE ID IN (");
      for (int ii=0;ii<keys.length;ii++) {
        sb.append (keys [ii]);
        if (ii != keys.length-1) sb.append (",");
sb.append (")");but this means that the prepared statement is created each time I call my method and so I'm not sure that the optimizer will find it easy to cope with. Is there a construction that I'm missing along the lines of SELECT * FROM TABLE WHERE KEY = ? where I can create the PreparedStatement once and just call setObject or something on it when the values in {list} change?

but this means that the prepared statement is created
each time I call my method and so I'm not sure that
the optimizer will find it easy to cope with. You are right, the optimizer won't find that easy to deal with (presuming that is even relevant for your driver/database.) But most optimizers won't do anything with statements that change and that is what you are doing.
You could create several prepared statements which have a common number of bind variables. For example 10 statements with from 1 to 10 bind values. This will work if most of the queries use those.

  • Select from table containing clob

If i try to select from table containing clob column in SQL PLus it gives error.
Tab1 contains 3 clob columns and 1 blob column
    select * from tab 1;
SP2-0678: Column or attribute type can not be displayed by SQL*Plus
The same statement works in SQL Developer and I am able to see the result.
Actually i am writing the queries and they will be used by Java developers in their JSP page.
So what happens here? Can Java use these select statements or will it throw error like SQL Plus?

BLOB column content can't be displayed in SQL*Plus:
    SQL> create table t_blob (b blob);
    Table created.
    SQL> edit

  • Select * from table not working with Oracle OBDC driver

    Hello,
In our web development we have been using the MS ODBC for Oracle
driver to connect to our Oracle db. We decided to try the
Oracle ODBC driver because it supports the commandTimeout
property in ASP which the MS driver does not. The problem I'm
running into now is that all of our select * from table
statements appear not to be working. The Oracle ODBC driver
version we are using is ver 8.00.05.00. Is there something that
I'm not doing properly? If I take the same select * from table
statement and name the columns, I dont get any error. Otherwise
I'm getting a Subscript out of range error. It seems strange to
me that this driver would not support a select * from table
statement (which I''m told is the case by another developer
    here).
    Is there something I'm missing?
    Thanks,
    Pete

    I'm positive I have a connection. Otherwise I wouldn't get a
response when I name the columns instead of using *.
There must be something else that I'm missing or doing wrong.
I've actually been looking into alternative ODBC drivers to see
if I have the same problems but none that I have found support
    commandTimeout.
    Any other ideas?

  • Performace Which is better ?  : Bapi inside a loop OR Select from Tables

    Hi Gurus,
I have a report which displays purchase info records.
If I am selecting from tables i need to use EINA, EINE, EORD and some other tables.
There is a BAPI which gets all purchase info records specific to a vendor , material , purchasing organisation.
QUESTION: Performace wise which is the better Approach, either selecting from tables or BAPI for Purchase info records
    Regards
    Avi.

Whether it using BAPI or select. you need to check the performance. If you have full key for these tables EINA, EINE, EORD  then mak a select outside of the loop and within loop use READ TABLE statement with binary search. of if you want multiple records within loop then use loop insdie loop.
Your final objective is to minimise the database hits . If you use bapi inside loop then your database hits will be more
    select from EINA
    select from EINE
    select from EORD
    loop at itab,
      read table EINA
      read table EINE
      read table EORD
    endloop

    Hi All,
I have a Generic master datasource  which is working fine. I am trying to append a field ZEINH to generic existing master datasource which uses user exit in R/3. It is working fine in R/3.
I have replicated R/3 datasource to BW and assign source system and datasource to infosource.I can see the ZEINH field in Transfer structure .I have tried to map ZEINH with infoobject of same domain and data element in the Infobject assign column of Transfer rule.
When It does not propose transfer rule for new field, however old fields are there. When I select new field and try to transfer to the comm.struc/Trns. rule column, it gives me error"No rows selected in table Transfer Rules"
Thanks in advance for your attention

    Hi,
In 'Transfer rules' tab, in the right frame, in the 'Infoobject' column, type in a name of infoobject to which you want to map incoming data from datasource.
