Cflog & fix server log level

Hello,
I can't find information about how to set the log level on
cold fusion server config.
cflog tag enable a type of log, and I don't want to see debug
information on live servers.
Bonus question: do we have a way to put code execution for
debug only, such as "<cfif_debug_mode><cfoutput>#my
super debuginfo#</cfoutput></cfif_debug_mode>"
Thanks,
Yoann.

Thanks, I've found the link between the admin option "Enable
Request Debugging Output" and the "IsDebugMode()", very usefull.
But still nothing related to "type of log" and a
configuration parameter to set the severity level of log.
Type of log are defined as:
* Information
* Warning
* Error
* Fatal
I would like to set on prod server a log level to "Error"
only...
It seems that an alternative way would be to use "cftrace"
for debug info, that can be disable by admin parameter. (but as far
as the application already exist, it means re-writing some
APIs)

  • Logging Level for Identity Server

    There is a path name configurable via the cosole but not log level. Within AMCOnfig.properties file, there is a com.iplanet.services.debug.level parameter but it does not seem to control the level of data being logged into the "logs" directory. Are there any other places where there are logging level parameters? Changing this one does not have any effect on the files in the "logs" directory - only the "debug" directory.
    There are 4 main files in the logs directory - amAuthLog, amSSO.access amPolcy.access and amAuthentication.access. Is there any configuration data for any of these files?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

    The logging parameter that you are referring to is configured can be toggled on/off within the AMConfig.properties (changing it requires a restart)

  • Crystal Report 2008 results "Password did not match error" in SQL Server Log

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop some crystal reports using Crystal Report 2008 SP4 to connect to SQL server 2008 through RDO (ODBC). My problem is that anytime Crystal Report is trying to establish a connection with SQL Server, first it tries to connect with the wrong password and results the following error message in SQL Server log:
    Login failed for user 'peyman'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: 192.168.2.198]
    The login name 'peyman' is the right one as I have quoted the same in setting up ODBC System DSN using "SQL Server Native Client 10". But somehow Crystal Report is taking its chance and trying to connect before prompting me for the password. After this error logged to SQL server side, I can see Crystal Report pops up the prompt to enter DSN password. After supplying password to this prompt, Crystal Report works fine and pulls the data and renders the report without having any more incorrect password error logged to SQL Server.
    The attached file shows the step I am taking to regenerate the issue. I need this to be fixed as anytime uses any of these reports and tries to render it with crystal runtime engine the same error message raises in SQL Server side and logged in the log file.
    Thanks,

    Hi Peyman,
    This is the way it should work, In CR designer when you open the report it does nothing. As soon as you hit the Refresh button then CR tries to use the connection saved with the report. It assumes what is saved with the report is a valid server and connection info. CR simply tries to verify the server is still active.
    If you don't want it to fail in CRD then before opening any report Click the File, Log on Database option and connect. Now when refreshing reports it won't log the failed.
    In the SDK it does the same thing, it assumes the Server info is the same and does try to connect to verify the Server does exist. It only takes a few milli-seconds to do this
    To stop this from happening set the log on info first then it won't log the attempt to connect, it's checking to see if Trusted is allowed.

    Notice it doesn't try to connect first if I set the log on info first using code.
    So nothing we can do to stop SQL server from logging this info. Check with the DBA, possibly they can "filter" out the application attempts to connect or change your work flow in the app.
    If you have a Preview Button to view the report then simply add your Database log on info prompt there if Connectioninfo.Trusted is not true:
    mainSecureDB = rpt.Database.Tables[tableIndex].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity;
    if mainSecureDB = false then prompt the user for log on info and set accordingly, if it is true the it should not fail when it connects.
    This is simply a matter of changing your App work flow...
    Thanks

  • Error while Changing log level in Agentry 6.0.44.1

    Hi ,
    I am trying to change the log level from the Agentry Administration client, but i am getting the below error message.
    And it is showing any option to change the log levels for users. How can I change log level for users also.
    How can I resolve this error.
    Regards,
    Shyam

    Shyam,
    This is fixed or planned fixed in 6.0.46 Agentry Server (supposed to be available anytime soon in the Service Marketplace - it was submitted already to the SMP team). The fix was in SMP 2.3 and SMP 3.0 but it was ported back to the Agentry 6.0.X release. If you have no access to the Agentry 6.0.X patches this means that your SAP License is preventing you from downloading it. You may need to contact the SAP CIC (customer interaction center) group.
    Or you can do the manual setup for a workaround for now.
    SAP KBA article: 2048202 - AgentryGUI does not allow to change log settings - Not all setttings were successfully changed.

  • Using ExtendedLogFormat, server log refers to Exception that does not exist

    I created a custom logging class, using ExtendedLogFormat, according to the doc here:
    [http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/config_wls/web_server.html#elf]
    However, when I do this, and modify the startup classpath to point to my jar containing the class, and modify the log format to include this class, I see in the logs:
    bq. *     Attempting to initialize ExtendedLogFormat application specific header: x-com.on24.weblogic.logging.POSTDataLogField. However, failed due to exception.*
    (POSTDataLogField is the name of my log field class).
    This is very frustrating, because nowhere in ANY log (and I've set the log level as verbose as possible in all places) is any Exception shown.
    Does anyone know how I can find out what this mystery exception is, in a case like this? I've looked at all the logging options, and didn't find anything I could change to be any more verbose than I already am.

    Hi. I'm using version 2.1.11 of the NDK for CSharp. I'm getting this
    same error message:
    Code:
    Connection.freeWriteSemaphore(-2): semaphore not owned by any thread
    at Novell.Directory.Ldap.Connection.freeWriteSemaphor e(Int32 msgId)
    at Novell.Directory.Ldap.Connection.connect(String host, Int32 port, Int32 semaphoreId)
    at Novell.Directory.Ldap.LdapConnection.Connect(Strin g host, Int32 port)
    at TestLDAP.Program.Main(String[] args) in D:\Documents and Settings\tjbuege\my documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\TestLDAP\TestLDAP\Program.cs:line 20
    This occurs when I try to bind to a server that does not exist. Here
    is my sample source code that generates that error:
    Code:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using Novell.Directory.Ldap;
    namespace TestLDAP
    class Program
    static void Main(string[] args)
    LdapConnection conn = null;
    string host = "server.does.not.exist.com";
    int port = 389;
    try
    conn = new LdapConnection();
    conn.Connect(host, port);
    catch (Exception ex)
    Console.WriteLine(ex.Message);
    Console.WriteLine(ex.StackTrace);
    if (conn != null)
    conn.Disconnect();
    Is there a fix for this? It makes this library useless for me.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Server log showing problems with Mail Server

    Ok, so I followed the instructions in that PDF about how to make virtual mail users in 10.5.1 since they are broken. So I did it in the WGM and the Postfix stuff as the document said. Now I get all these errors in the server log and I have no idea how to fix the problem or if what I did was even done right. Here is the error log below:

    I did what you said and I don't see all those weird messages anymore, but we switched over our MX records today to our mail server in hopes that it would all work and now no one can get their mail. I can log into the mail server no problem via IMAP, but to send messages is not working. And those using POP don't seem to work at all. Even to send messages the Server is rejecting saying that my messages isn't addresed right. Which it is. I can't even send something to myself. I'm trying not to be frustrated with this thing. I'm just not sure what to do since we have a whole bunch of people needing mail and it doesn't seem to be working and I'm not a mail server expert. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Error Message in MDM Server Log

    Hi Experts,
    Can anybody tell me what could be the problems if we have the following scenario ?
    For an example: Our MDM Server is based on 5.5 SP06, MDM Server name is DFM and our repository name is MDMQ110.
    1) Checking the Reports from this Repository MDMQ110 from MDM Console, no errors and no warning. This repository can be loaded successfully and completed.
    2) Server Log has an error in message:
    Error: Service 'DFM', Schema 'MDMQ110_m000', ERROR CODE = 0,
    SELECT LENGTH(Data) FROM A2i_Misc_Blobs WHERE Id=1000
    Thanks very much for your help in advance
    Regards,
    WD

    Hi Kanstantsin,
    Thanks for your reply. I have done the stop and repair but It did not help any. By repair, there are no errors and warnings that have been fixed which I can see in the repository reports.
    The Assertion Log has come up first with the messages like:
    6426            2010/01/12 09:07:08.500               Error: Data_2 accelerator does not exist in A2i_CM_Accelerator_Status
    6426            2010/01/12 09:07:08.683               Error: Data_53 accelerator does not exist in A2i_CM_Accelerator_Status
    4884 2010/01/12 09:43:30.335   Error: KeyWord_2_F4_Leng_USA accelerator does not exist in A2i_CM_Accelerator_Status
    As soon as I run into MDM, the Server Log has come up the same messages:
    It looks like not only happened to this repository. As I can see if I load any other repository, there are the same messages in Server Log but only the repository name in the message is different.

  • How do I turn off |INFO| entries in my server.log files?

    Sun Java System Application Server 8.2
    How do I turn off |INFO| entries in my server.log files? Is this a setting in the admin console that I am over looking?
    Thanks,
    --Todd

    This path is not available for
    Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition
    9.0 (build b48)
    There is no server-config under Configurations. Do
    you know how to do this for this version of the app
    server?Right.
    There is only one "config" available for Platform Edition. So, can
    you try:
    - Click on Application Server in the left panel.
    - Right hand side, third tab is "Logging". Click there.
    - Second tab below is Log Levels. You can see various component
    (module) log levels there. The default is "INFO" for all.
    I tested this on 9.0 PE - b48.
    Hope this helps.

  • Setting logging level

    Hello folks;
    Is there a way to set the logging threshold for log messages sent to
    the weblogic log? I see where to adjust logging threshold for the
    standard out, but this level doesn't seem to affect the threshold for
    messages getting to the physical logfile. Unlike the log4j classes
    that seem to back up weblogic's logging ( I checked this out by
    looking in the weblogic.jar file); there are no methods for setting
    the logging threshold on weblogic's log classes.
    Cheers-

    I was mistaken about the log4j stuff being used under the covers.
    However, changing the logging threshold does not seem to affect
    messages sent to the log for my server. I just tested this again by
    setting the log level to "CRITICAL" in the console. Sure enough the
    messages sent to the standard out console are affected, but the
    messages sent to the physical log are not affected. I still get Info,
    Notice, etc messages there--- but nearly no messages to the standard
    out console.
    This was done on version 7.0 of weblogic.
    Cheers--

    Hi Steve,
    If you set the logging level in the Logging tab on Server Configuration, it
    DOES affect the level of messages that are logged to both stdout and the
    physical log. Are you sure you are looking at the correct log file?
    Also, none of the weblogic classes use log4j. What version did you find
    log4j classes included in the weblogic.jar??

  • How to set server log file severity

    Will some one suggest how to set the severity for messages logged by server to server log file. The admin console consists of setting "Stdout Severity Threshold" which is applicable only to standard out. I need to restrict info messages to be logged in server log file.

    Which release of WebLogic Server are you using? In WebLogic 9.0 there is an attribute on the LogMBean called LogFileSeverity which could be configured to "Warning" so it will not allow Debug and Info level messages to be written to the server log file. In the 8.1 release you would need to do this programatically using a startup class, by getting a reference to the server Logger by invoking weblogic/logging/LoggingHelper.getServerLogger() and setting the appropriate weblogic/logging/WLLevel on the weblogic/logging/FilestreamHandler that writes to the server log file.
    Hope this helps

  • Could you tell me what's the meaning of the logfile-path and log-level?

    we are running an productive xml database. but it is not stable now. Sometime it would report resource conflict error while you access xmldb via http protocol. I read the database logs and listener logs, but no abnormal message could be found. So, I want to find more information from the xmldb logs. While I run select DBMS_XDB.cfg_get().getclobval() from dual, I found that there are several logfile-path and log-level tags and I guess that these would be xmldb logs. Does anyone know what's the meaning of these tags?

    I wondered about that one often too. I didn't have a chance yet to investigate (but maybe Mark will elaborate a little here), my guess is that it / or will be a possibility to enable tracing regarding the protocols or servlets.
    Though It look like if you enable it it will trace to the XML file defined in the xdbconfig.xml. I also guess that (because there is also a XSD counterpart) that one could create an resource that streams the errors into a XDB ftp or http or ... xmltype table based on these settings.
    This would be great because it would mature the protocol server regarding functionality. You could enable the tracing and see what happens. Until now the documentation doesn't give much extra insight...

  • Cannot view web server logs in Server Admin

    It has been a terrible day.
    First, the interesting part:
    I woke up to find that 25 sites that are hosted on an XServe G5 running OS X Server 10.3.9 had been defaced. As the part-time, unpaid admin of this server, it was my responsibility to track down the vulnerability in the system and restore the defaced files from backups. The hacker had replaced the index.html file for each of the sites with his own, special version, in which he proudly declared that my server had been owned. I did a Nessus scan of the server and came up with nothing. I pulled what was left of my hair out looking for every vulnerability I could come up with, and still nothing.
    I then decided to use Google to get more information about him, using the name he proudly posted on the defaced sites, and was able to get his IM address. I proceeded to have an awkwardly pleasant conversation with him, in which he declared that he has discovered a new vulnerability and decided to try it out on my machine for the challenge. He apologized, but would not reveal the vulnerability (although he hinted that it had something to do with mod_security). He also promised to leave my machine alone now ....
    (Now for the not so interesting part, and the nature of my current problem)
    Anyway, I did what I could to clean up the mess, and wound up viewing the access logs in the Console app via ARD. That led me nowhere, so I decided to call it a night and logged out of ARD. A few minutes later, I thought I would log into ServerAdmin and take another look at those logs, but alas, they could no longer be viewed through ServerAdmin! The log section is empty. I ssh'd into the machine to see if he had broken his promise and messed around some more, but the logs still existed where they had always been. I ran tail -f on them to make sure they are still being updated, and they are.
    So after all that, it seems my big problem at the moment is viewing logs in ServerAdmin. I did not make any changes to httpd.conf (outside of disabling mod_security, which commented out the appropriate LoadModule and AddModule lines). I also disabled a few other unnecessary mods earlier in the evening via ServerAdmin, but I doubt that any particular mod controls whether or not I can view log files in ServerAdmin.
    I apologize for the length of this post, but it has been quite a day. If anyone can provide any clues as to either the location of error logs for the ServerAdmin app or any sort of known resolution to this issue, I would name my first born after you.
    Thanks.

    What purpose you will solve by loading the web server logs into the database? I will not advice it. It will be much easier for you to manage these logs at file system level as well monitor these for any issues, rather than loading it into database and then running sone database job to dig into those logs for any errors. Loading logs into database will help if you need to keep them for long time (More than 1 Year time frame or for regulatory purpose), otherwise it is better for logs to keep it on file system and just get regular backups of these logs into tape.
    My 2 cents
    RegardsOverall, I agree but I don't understand your comment about "Loading logs into database will help if you need to keep them for long time". Even if needed for regulatory reasons, one can manage them quite nicely outside of the database.
    Also to expand on this a bit for the OP .... if the need arose to use SQL to mine the logs for information that would be hard to get using the search feature of a simple text editor, one could always define an external table on an as-needed basis.

  • Eclipselink log levels issue with weak references

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to get null pointer exceptions if the log level in eclipselink is set to FINEST and you are logging a weak reference probably in a IdentityWeakReferenceMap and getting a null pointer exception because the weak ref has been garbage collected ?

    I am getting Nullpointer exception when I set log level to FINER or FINEST in persistence.xml.

    Stopping Derby Server...
    Steps to reproduce
    1. Create a logging.properties file with the following contents:
    # Specify the handlers to create in the root logger
    handlers = weblogic.logging.ServerLoggingHandler
    # Register handlers for my.app and their child loggers
    my.app.handlers = java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler, weblogic.logging.ServerLoggingHandler
    # Do not send the my.app log messages to the root handler
    my.app.useParentHandlers = false
    # Set the default logging level for the root logger
    .level = ALL
    # Set the default logging level for new ConsoleHandler instances
    java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = INFO
    # Set the default logging level for new FileHandler instances
    weblogic.logging.ServerLoggingHandler.level = ALL2. Add the following directive in the setDomainEnv.cmd:
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Djava.util.logging.config.file=path/to/logging.properties3. Start-stop the domain and the above NPE occurs while WLS keeps running. Remove the directive from step 2 and the start-stop sequence goes back to normal.
    Environment
    Oracle JDK:
    java version "1.6.0_23"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_23-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode, sharing)OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
    Your help would be very much appreciated! Please let me know if you need any additional info.
    Thanks,
    Bas

    Hi Sandeep,
    Thanks a lot for your quick reply! You were right, the logging directive was used both client and server side. I moved
    -Djava.util.logging.config.file=path/to/logging.propertiesfrom setDomainEnv.cmd to startWeblogic.cmd and WLS can be stopped correctly now.

  • Logging Level

    hi,
    I have been following the below perf tuning url:
    http://www.oraclebidwh.com/2010/02/performance-tuning-in-obiee/
    I have been reviewing section3, regarding turing off logging, it states the following:
    +3) Turning off Logging+
    Logging can affect in performance  of  Oracle BI Server and can create large log files. Logging can be used in problem solving and trouble shooting problematic queries.  So when it is necessary then only set logging level to 0 to 2. Set log level greater than 2 is not recommended by Oracle.
    investigating via the admin tool, using security manager
    Manage > Security > Security manager
    We have some OBIEE users that have logging levels set at 2, some set at 3, some set at 4, and some set at 5.
    As an example, PUBLIC user is set at 4, Administrator is set at 5.
    Also, in the 10.1.3.4 docs http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/b31770.pdf , on page 216 it states:
    NOTE: Logging levels greater than 2 should be used only with the assistance of Technical Support.
    So with having logging levels of 3, 4 , & even 5 will it cause performance issues?
    I'd be very grateful of the advice.
    & thanks in advance

    & thanks in advanceYes, the BI-server will have to a lot of write actions to the server disk. This means it will have to 'wait' several times during the execution until the logbuffer is written to disk
