Why doesn't ctrl+shift+arrow move an app/space to the adjacent monitor?

In linux it is very easy to set up keyboard shortcuts to move the current window to the adjacent workspace. It feels odd that mavericks has these full screen apps that can be placed on any monitor and viewed simultaneously, but then you have to open mission control and drag a space to move it to another monitor. I don't know the code-base, but it can't be that bad to add this to mavericks...

There is an application called Spectacle that does just this. Useful until Mac OS has the feature built in.

You don't give us anything like enough data to go on. What is your operating system? Do you have a functioning iCloud account - i.e. are you signed in in System Preferences>iCloud?
Were you originally a MobileMe subscriber? If so, did you migrate to iCloud?
Was your email still working recently? Do you get any error messages? What happens when you try to use it?
Have you been using an @icloud.com address or an @me.com address?

How move file with space in the name to another foler on Linux from ABAP?

Hi experts,
My requirement is to move the file on Linux to another folder via ABAP program.
IN SM49 is defined ZMOVE command for "mv" operating system command. In ABAP, fm:
SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE calls ZMOVE external command to move the file to another folder.
But in case that file has space in the file name, then the fm gives error and the file can not be moved.
I have tried as given in the Note 1152084 - Parameter for external commands but it doesn't work.
Don't know if the reason is that the note is for Windows or Unix and we have Linux.
So, I have tried with ''%file name%' and '''file name'''.
PLease advice hoe to move file on Linux to another folder from ABAP program if the file has spec in the name.

Why doesn't imovie 6 recognize MOV or DV files?

When trying to import MOV files into imovie 'error unknown' is the response
If then converting these MOV files to DV I get this response...The file could not be imported: QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -39. ?
Does anyone why this is happening?
I just wanna paste together 5 clips so I can open them in Logic and compose.

Sarah - I haven't tried this myself, but you may be able to open the clips in QuickTime Pro then join them together as one movie. If you have Garageband, you may be able to open the combined movie in that program and then compose your music. I think Garageband Help explains how to score a movie in that program - I've not done it myself.
If you only have QuickTime Player you will need to upgrade to the Pro version. Instructions for joining movies together are included in QuickTime Help. Here is an extract:

Sarah, you mentioned in your first post in this thread that you were going to use Logic, then compose. This lead me to the possibility of using Garageband after first combining the movies in QuickTime Pro. iMovie HD 6 is normally the ideal vehicle for putting together a movie and then scoring in Garageband, but as you appear to be having problems with iMovie perhaps QuickTime Pro will do the trick!
In another post, it was mentioned that iMovie '08 could import "Photo-JPEG" files (among others). If all else fails, and if you don't already have a copy, it might be worth getting iLife '08. If you still have a copy of the original Photo-JPEG clips, iMovie '08 may solve your import problems. I will check out that other post and post the link back shortly.

Why doesn't flash player load movies when in secure connection?

I have a new computer running on Windows 7 64bit with ESET Smart Security 5 RC. I installed the latest flash player which works perfectly fine as long as I don't use a secure connection (https). Whenever I'm on a secure webpage I see an empty white frame where there should be a flash object. Rightclicking produces a menu with two items: "movie not loaded" (in grey) and "about Adobe flash player". I've gone through troubleshooting and I've checked the security settings of my 32bit IE9 browser, which are all set to default. Also I checked my firewall and couldn't find anything unusual; anyway, turning it off altogether didn't fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea what else could cause this behaviour?

Things are a bit more complicated with the global security settings of the flash player. When I click your link, I see the note (Note: The Settings Manager that you see above is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager itself.), but no settings manager, so I cannot click any tabs. I can rightclick to go to global settings, but I can find no global security settings. A complicating factor is that I'm located in Poland and even though the installer correctly notes that I'm running an English language Windows system, it will only install flash player in Polish - and translations are usually not so good. So I have an "advanced" tab in the settings manager and I added my secure sites to the trusted sites, even though it says this is for programmers only. Anyway - this didn't help either.
Please help, as this problem has cut me off from my bank account!

So I have illustrator cs6 and anytime I try to save the file with text it comes up with 'an unknown error has occurred' however if I save without text it works fine. please help thank you. I have tried unticking pdf compatible box but to no avail.

You may try especially item 1) and 11) following the link under 5) in the list below:
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:

They are not exactly free on the new devices either. iMovie and iPhoto are included, when you buy a new device. You're purchase price for your older devices did not include the apps, so you have to buy them, sorry.

i see that they are there in ical when i click window. but the are not all see together on one page.

If the box next to each calendar in the list is checked, it should show the contents of the calendars on the page. Unchecking the box hides the calendar.

Why doesn't my MacBook Air see a connected printer on the wireless network?

For some reason my MacBook has come up with a case of the stupids. I have been able to print out to my Canon printer before, but now it doesn't see it. The printer is on our wireless network and can be seen by our iPad, and iMacs but doesn't appear on the MBAir. I have reinstalled the drivers, rebooted the system and when I go to the Preferences to look at the Printers/Scanners there is nothing there. Pressing the + button comes up with a screen with nothing in the default area. The Air is connected to the wireless network and operates fine with the internet and other operations.
What can I do to fix this?

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with printing in Yosemite. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
OS X Yosemite: Printing troubleshooting
Check the network
Open Network Diagnostics, then follow the instructions to make sure you’re connected to the network.
If you’re using a Wi-Fi network and there are multiple Wi-Fi networks available, your Mac and the printer might be on different networks. Open the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar, then try choosing a different network.
To see if the printer you want to use is on the same network as your Mac, open Printers & Scanners preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners), then click Add . If the printer doesn’t appear in the list of available printers, your Mac might be on a different network.
If you know the printer’s IP address (for example, 192.168.1.100), you can try adding it as an IP printer. For more information, see Add or remove a printer.
If your printer is connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station, disconnect your printer from the Time Capsule or base station, then reconnect it.
Make sure you have the latest software
Make sure you have the correct version of your printer’s software (also called its printer driver).
If you’re using a printer that another user is sharing, make sure you’re both using the same version of the printer software. Why doesn't apple tv work in mexico? I changed the itunes location but can't access anything only a spinning pinwheel.

I brought my Apple TV down to Mexico from the US and can't get it to work unless I stream thru my Macbook and then airplay.
Why can't I get anything just with the apple TV?
I had the same settings as back home and then changed the itunes to Mexico, Half of the logos disappaered but I still can't get anything to come up.

Mark - I've experienced the same issue and am appalled that such a simple thing has been overlooked by apple! I'm also trying to use my ATV as a cable replacement. When I tried contacting Apple, they had no clue to what I was talking about... they just told me to make sure I was logged into my iTunes account (which I was). I'm wondering if this is a software issue, or something wrong with our accounts?
