Change account from administrator to standard?

How do I change my computer from administrator account to standard? I follow the steps it tells me to but when I get to the window where I have the option to change account, it will not let me change to standard.

I am not sharing my computer either. I have an administrator account. I don't use a password to sign in,
I have been trying to delete something I scaneed in and then I decided I didn't need it. I tried to delete and
got the message administrator permission needed. It does not ask me for a password ( I do not have a password), so
what is the answer? Following the help on the computer it advised to set up a standard account, but then the computer dowen't allow you to change to standard.

My New Year's resolution is to downgrade my main the one my Mac boots into from Administrator to Standard. I plan to do this by un-checking the "Allow User to Administer Computer" box in System Preferences, Users and Groups. My theory is that this should do no harm and may improve my security in the event that I accidentally click on a malware link or something.
I've created a second account that does have administrator's privileges, so that I will have a way to re-enable them on my main account if I need to. I don't want to start fresh in a brand-new standard account because I have too many preference settings and other things in my current account.
Before I do this, can anyone can tell me in advance what the consequences will be? Will it create any nuisance problems in the account, which has always had administrator privileges, or will I just be prompted for an administrator's name and password a little more often than I am now?
Could I paint myself into a corner and find I could not re-enable administrator privileges?

It should not cause any problems. You will still be able to authenticate certain things in the Standard account by typing in both the other username and password from the admin account. So, you may not even need to switch accounts very often.

AV not working after changing account from admin to standard

So I have a user account that was set as administrator. I removed admin privileges from that account and made it into a standard account. A few days later I noticed that I could no longer video chat with anyone (though I could chat via typing). I rebooted my router and computer a million times thinking it must be something else. But then I remembered changing the user account, and as soon as I reset the account as admin video chat immediately started working again.
This doesn't make any sense to me. I don't see why changing my admin account into a standard one should keep me from video chatting. But if there is a workaround, I would really like to know.

Hi,
Have you done anything with Parental Controls with this account ?
In/as Standard Account in the Mac Firewall is UDP Traffic Blocked ? (System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall tab).
Parental Controls is the most likely.
Otherwise I would be stuck as to a suggestion.

Change "Message from administrator" in PXE

Hello,
I am wondering if you can change the default message from administrator from the looking for policy to something custom. I tried looking in the PXE settings on the DP role and also tried to run a wdsutil set server message from cmd prompt on the server
itself. Nothing has worked. Is this an option or am I stuck?
I am running sccm 2012 on a server 2012 r2 machine.

Upgrading to 4.0.1 changes license from Premium to Standard

I'm running a volume licensed version of Flash Builder 4 part of the CS5 Web Premium suite. After updating to Flash Builder 4.0.1, it now loads as Flash Builder Standard. Is that just the title that is showing incorrectly on the start screen and about page, or have I somehow magically been downgraded from Premium to Standard?

I'm definitely downgraded to standard. When I go to Flex Unit it tells me I need a Premium license.
So far this has happened on 2 computers. One (win XP sp3) with Flash Builder pre-installed and then CS 5 installed and one (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) with no Abode products installed until all of CS 5 was installed. It can`t just be you and I who have experienced this.

Jaadu VNC seems to have changed my account from administrator to a regular

Just installed Jaadu VNC for the iPhone. To connect you need to install two apps that you download from the jaaduvnc.com website. I did that and all seemed to work fine...untill I discovered that somewhere during that process my account got changed from an administrator account into a regular account.
Basically, what this means is that I have no longer access to any system preferences on my MacBook Pro. I certainly did not change any passwords or account settings.
Anybody have had similar experiences? What can I do?

In our domain controller we have around 1200 users, all these users have admin account and there is the problem.
I want to change them to a user accounts so they can not change IP address and install or uninstall programs with out our consent.
Is there a possibility to do this with the domain controller, because i don't want to go change the computers one by one. from admin account to user account.

Ravikumar. I assume what you mean is local admin rights. Since you have so many users which
have local admin rights, you would have created an administrator group and add all the users to that group in Local Users and Groups of Computer Management. You can remove them from the administrator group and add them to a user group.

Is this possible? I tried to in Mail -> Accounts but does not appear to be possible.

you can not change the type of an existing account. you'll have to make a new account. also, your email provider has to provide support for IMAP. if it doesn't, you can't do it at all.

Changing account from free book to paid book

I opened an iTunes Store Free Books Account and I have decided to sell my books instead, so now when I try to open a Paid Books Account, I got a warning that my email address is already in use.
Filling "Paid" account with alternativ email it stop me with info - that I have wrong info for that account ???

How to prevent exchange email account from sending emails in Outlook

Hello,
I'm using Outlook 2010 with two email accounts. First account is set up with pop/smtp (hosted email), Second account is set up with local exchange server 2003 (not full exchange, only used to store emails, calendars, public folders). For sending & receiving
emails we use hosted email account pop/smtp, which is default account.
The problem is when I receive meeting request.....if i hit Accept > Send the Response Now, for some reason it will try to send from the Exchange account (which is not set up for sending emails).
The only workaround I know is to hit Accept > Edit the Response before Sending > change account from exchange to pop and send.
Would you please help me if there is a fix or any way to disable exchange account from sending emails !!

When the meeting is added to the exchange calendar, it wants to send the response. One way to solve it (and i think the easiest) is to configure the exchange account to send mail using a smart host. Configure your hosted email address as the default smtp
address - the server will send any mail it receives and the address on it will be your correct internet address.

How do I change account?

I have a private CC subscription, which runs until the beginning of October. I have also a subscription through my work place which I want to continue using and cancel my private one. So how do I change account from one to another without causing any problems? I don't want to delete my Adobe ID.
On my home computer I have my private subscription which I will cancel. And I want to continue using my "work" subscription on my home computer

You will need to sign out from the Creative Cloud desktop app and sign in again using the Adobe ID associated with your work membership.

Can you change the "System Installation Account" from the Site Server Computer Account to a Service Account after the DP is configured?

When the distribution points were configured, we used the Site Server Computer Account.
Now we would like to change to a service account and remove the site server computer account from the local administrators group (and add the the service account).
Can someone provide some guidance on if this is possible, and what steps should be taken to accomplish?

Sure, just modify the properties of the "Site System" role in the console (in the Administration workspace under Site Configuration -> Server and Site System Roles).
Why would you do this though? It's less secure and adds an administrative burden.
