Change Color of SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT

Hello!
I want to change the color of the text of my comments for parameters in my selection-screen. Is that possible?
What kind of design option do I have within the selection-screen? (Background, Colors, etc...)

  • Selection screen comment as input field

    Hi Experts,
    I have a comment in my program using following statement,
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 27(60) dispath.
    by default this statement is in output mode ...can we change that as input...
    Not to forget i dont want to use PARAMETERS.
    Thanks
    Sid

    Hi Sid,
    Only options possible in selection screen comment are:
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT [/][pos](len)
                             {text|{[text] FOR FIELD sel}}
                             [VISIBLE LENGTH vlen]
                             [MODIF ID modid]
                             [ldb_additions].
    i  think its not possible.

  • Selection-screen comment.....?`

    Hi All,
    I need explanation for the following statement
           SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(15) TEXT-001.
    What does 1 and 15 mean in the above statement?
    Regards
    Dnyanesh

    Hai Go through the following Document
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT fmt name.
    Additions
    1. ... FOR TABLE dbtab
    2. ... FOR FIELD f
    3. ... MODIF ID mod
    4. ... ID id
    Effect
    Generates a comment on the selection screen. For the name name , there are two options:
    name takes the form TEXT-xxx where xxx is a three-character name for a text symbol. In this case, the contents of the text symbol are displayed at runtime, i.e. the text cannot be changed dynamically. name is another eight-character name. Here, you create a field with the name name in the length specified in the format fmt< /> and it is then generated as an output field on the selection screen. The contents of these comments must therefore be set at runtime (e.g. at INITIALIZATION or - in the case of comments in the database include program DBldbSEL - in the routine INIT of the database program SAPDBldb . They can also be changed when the selection screen is being processed.
    Note
    The field name is generated automatically and so cannot be defined with DATA .
    With comments, you must always specify a format fmt (see variant ULINE ).
    Note
    You must program a new line yourself via the format fmt .
    Addition 1
    ... FOR TABLE dbtab
    Note
    See variation 3 (SELECTION-SCREEN SKIP).
    Addition 2
    ... FOR FIELD f
    Effect
    Since the comment is assigned to a parameteror a select-option , the help display shows the documentation of the reference field if this parameter or selection option.
    In addition, the comment is suppressed if the reference object was set to 'invisible' via a selection variant.
    Note
    In database access routines, the comment is generated whenever the reference field is output. Therefore, you should not use the addition FOR TABLE with this variant.
    Example
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.
      SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 10(20) TEXT-001
                       FOR FIELD PARM.
      SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION POS_LOW.
      PARAMETERS PARM LIKE SAPLANE-PLANETYPE.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
    This code displays a 20-byte long comment followed by the parameter at the normal position ( POS_LOW ) on the same line. If the user presses F1 for both objects, the documentation of SAPLANE-PLANETYPE is displayed.
    Addition 3
    ... MODIF ID mod
    Addition 4
    ... ID id
    Thansk & regards

  • ABAP Query Selection Screen Comment

    Hi,
      I want to display some text (just text) on Selection Screen of an abap query. If this was a regular abap program I could have simply used "SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT... " and that would have been enough. But since I dont seem to have access to Initialize event I cant use this option.
    1.  Is there some way I can write code which will be executed in the initialize event of the abap query
    2. Is there some other way for us to just display comment (without any selection field) on the selection screen of abap query.

    Hi Saquib,
    Is the navigation correct ? I dont see any onfoset anywhere on se38 editor. Can you eloborate please.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ben.

  • Change Layout in Selection Screen for OO ALV-Grid

    Hello everyone,
    I got a problem regarding layouts for objectoriented ALV Grid. I want to make it possible that user can take the layout for ALV he wants to on the selection screen. So far thats no problem and it works. But there are some little problems which I do not know how to fix them. But first the facts:
    (1) I got my parameter for layout
    PARAMETER: p_vari  TYPE disvariant-variant.
    (2) I fill my global layout structure in initialization
    INITIALIZATION.
    * Variante vorbelegen
       gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
       gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
    * Layout holen
       CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET'
         EXPORTING
           i_save        = 'A'
         CHANGING
           cs_variant    = gs_variant
         EXCEPTIONS
           wrong_input   = 1
           not_found     = 2
           program_error = 3
           OTHERS        = 4.
       IF sy-subrc = 0.
         p_vari = gs_variant-variant.
       ENDIF.
    (3) I got my handling for F4-value help on variant parameter
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR p_vari.
       CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_VARIANT_F4'
         EXPORTING
           is_variant    = gs_variant
           i_save        = 'A'
         IMPORTING
           es_variant    = gs_variant
         EXCEPTIONS
           not_found     = 1
           program_error = 2
           OTHERS        = 3.
       IF sy-subrc <> 0.
         MESSAGE text-m01 TYPE 'S'.
       ELSE.
         p_vari = gs_variant-variant.
       ENDIF.
    (4) I give back my parameters content into the variant structure at start of selection
    START-OF-SELECTION.
       gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
       gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
       gs_variant-variant  = p_vari.
    This works all fine but I got some problems when using default variants/layouts. For example I got a default variant only for me. When starting the selection screen it works fine that the default layout was written. It is displayed automatically in the variant parameter. But I want that if i I empty the content (blank it out) from my variant parameter, that report should start with "normal" layout how it was written in the report and NOT with default layout.
    When I clear the gs_variant it works like I want it, but then the alv layout button looks like (without functions for layout), because I do not have the reference to my report.
    So what to do? :-)
    Regards
    Michael

    Wow that was fast, works great, thanks :-)
    I did not use this parameter in set table method but now I fill it dynamically.
    Ok next problem, one step harder ;-)
    Now I have one selection screen for one ALV-Grid, but four radio buttons which control with which data the ALV gets filled (four different fieldcats, data tables and so on). Each Grid got an own HANDLE so that the layouts can be separated in four categories.
    Now I want that by changing the radio button the individual standard layout for the chosen alv grid is getting filled.
    This works fine when using it in selection screen output.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
       CLEAR gs_variant.
    * Layout-Handles individuell für Klausel-Radiobuttons setzen
       IF     p_py IS NOT INITIAL.
         gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
         gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
         gs_variant-handle   = 'KLPY'.
       ELSEIF p_rh IS NOT INITIAL.
         gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
         gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
         gs_variant-handle   = 'KLRH'.
       ELSEIF p_aj IS NOT INITIAL.
         gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
         gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
         gs_variant-handle   = 'KLAJ'.
       ELSEIF p_sr IS NOT INITIAL.
         gs_variant-username = sy-uname.
         gs_variant-report   = sy-repid.
         gs_variant-handle   = 'KLSR'.
       ENDIF.
    * Layout holen
       CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET'
         EXPORTING
           i_save        = 'A'
         CHANGING
           cs_variant    = gs_variant
         EXCEPTIONS
           wrong_input   = 1
           not_found     = 2
           program_error = 3
           OTHERS        = 4.
       IF sy-subrc = 0.
         p_vari = gs_variant-variant.
       ELSE.
         CLEAR p_vari.
       ENDIF.
    But unfortunately selection screen output is getting passed by EACH changing in the selection screen. This means when I try to clear the default layout in my parameter field, it gets refilled automatically with default layout. If I do a condition around the filling (only if not initial) the default value filling does not work fine in every case, e.g. when clearing the parameters field and then change the radiobutton -> then it does not get filled automatically.

  • Selection screen COMMENT font

    Hello,
    In a screen I have a SELECTION-SCREEN line which contains a comment, followed by a PARAMETER, followed by another comment, followed by a PARAMETER.
    Here is the example code:
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(14) text-s01 FOR FIELD p_1.
    SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION 33.
    PARAMETERS: p_1 LIKE sy-uzeit DEFAULT '000001'.
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 52(3) text-s02 FOR FIELD p_2.
    SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION 58.
    PARAMETERS: p_2 LIKE sy-uzeit DEFUALT '240000'.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
    For some reason the second COMMENT is showing with a different font. Can anyone help me understand why?
    Thank you,
    Nuno Silva

    Hi
    I test it on my system and noticed the same behavior.
    text-s01 = 'TOX'
    text-s02 = 'TOX'
    We can notice differences between the O and X.
    No idea why.
    That is SAP
    If you found a solution, please post it.

    No, you can set offset upto 83 position.
    Just run this below code:

    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 83(2) text-005."I have 'To' in text-005 and make sure length is 2

  • Trailing space when using SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT

    Hi All,
    I need to display a continuous text (length :130) in selection screen. I am trying with SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT option and i m aware that we can display max of 79 characters. So i split the text into length: 70 & 60 and coded as below
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(70) text-001.
    SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION 73.
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 73(60) text-002.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
    Problem is: After displaying first text (text-001), there is a gap of 10-15 characters, then second text starts (text-002). I mean, there is a trailing space.
    If i give all text-001 in CAPS, then there is no trailing space. But i dont need to display the text in CAPS.
    Do i need to proceed in any other way?, please provide your inputs
    Vinoth

    Your SAPgui to use a proportional font for texts and descriptions (where "i" is much shorter than "W") when it use a non-proportional for input fields. But it use this non-proportional font for input fields even if input is not allowed.
    Try this sample to solve your problem. (But your text will be in a box)
    REPORT zfontst.
    CONSTANTS ctxt TYPE c LENGTH 80 VALUE 'AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKkLlMmNnOoPpQqRrSsTtUuVvWwXxYyZz'.
    PARAMETERS: p1 TYPE c LENGTH 56.

    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT (2) p2a.
    SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION POS_LOW.
    SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT (56) p2.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
    PARAMETERS: p3 TYPE c LENGTH 56 MODIF ID dsp.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
      p1 = ctxt.

  • Q10 - I tap the screen to select, the icon changes color (indicating selection) but nothing happens...

    I notice an issue that predominantly happens when I use my thumbs to tap but does happen with fingers from time to time.
    When I select an icon (say, for instance the lower-right corner icon to jump into camera settings), the icon changes color slightly when my thumb touches the glass, and then when I remove my thumb, nothing happens.
    Sometimes this happens more than 5 times in a row.  It's one thing if the screen never recognized my finger/thumb in the first place.  It is a bit more madening when I KNOW that there was recognition (icon changing color) and yet nothing happens..
    Anyone else having this problem?  Is there some way to recalibrate the screen?
    Right after I posted this message I tried that camera setting button - 7 tries before anything happened with my right thumb, one try with right index finger, then again it took 5 tries with index finger.  The frustrating thing is that the icon to load the camera in the first place (lower right corner)... that one almost always works with the first tap...

  • How to change color of selected label from list of labels?

    My Problem is that I have a list of labels. RowHeaderRenderer is a row header renderer for Jtable which is rendering list items and (labels).getListTableHeader() is a method to get the list. When we click on the label this code is executed:
    getListTableHeader().addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter()
    public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e)
    if (e.getClickCount() >= 1)
    int index = getListTableHeader().locationToIndex(e.getPoint());
    try
    if (((ae_AlertEventInfo)theAlerts.values().toArray()[index]).ackRequiredFlag)
    AcknowledgeEvent ackEvent = new AcknowledgeEvent(
    this, (ae_AlertEventInfo)theAlerts.values().toArray()[index]);
    fireAcknowledgeEvent(ackEvent);
    ((HeaderListModel)listModel).setElementAt(ACK, index);
    catch(Exception ex) {;}
    Upon mouse click color of the label should be changed. For some period of time ie. Upto completion of fireAcknowledgeEvent(ackEvent);
    This statement is calling this method:
    public void handleAcknowledgeEvent(final AcknowledgeEvent event)
    boolean ackOk = false;
    int seqId = ((ae_AlertEventInfo)event.getAlertInfo()).sequenceId;
    if (((ae_AlertEventInfo)event.getAlertInfo()).ackRequiredFlag)
    try
    // perform call to inform server about acknowledgement.
    ackOk = serviceAdapter.acknowledge(seqId,
    theLogicalPosition, theUserName);
    catch(AdapterException aex)
    Log.error(getClass(), "handleAcknowledgeEvent()",
    "Error while calling serviceAdapter.acknowledge()", aex);
    ExceptionHandler.handleException(aex);
    else
    // Acknowledge not required...
    ackOk = true;
    //theQueue.buttonAcknowledge.setEnabled(false);
    final AlertEventQueue myQueue = theQueue;
    if (ackOk)
    Object popupObj = null;

    Code for RowHeaderRenderer is:
    class RowHeaderRenderer extends JLabel implements ListCellRenderer
    JTable theTable = null;
    ImageIcon image = null;
    RowHeaderRenderer(JTable table)
    image = new ImageIcon(AlertEventQueue.class.getResource("images" + "/" + "alert.gif"));
    theTable = table;
    JTableHeader header = table.getTableHeader();
    setOpaque(true);
    setHorizontalAlignment(LEFT);
    setForeground(header.getForeground());
    setBackground(header.getBackground());
    setFont(header.getFont());
    public Component getListCellRendererComponent( JList list, Object value,
    int index, boolean isSelected, boolean cellHasFocus)
    int level = 0;
    try
    level = Integer.parseInt(value.toString());
    catch(Exception e)
    level = 0;
    if (((ae_AlertEventInfo)theAlerts.values().toArray()[index]).ackRequiredFlag)
    setBorder(UIManager.getBorder("TableHeader.cellBorder"));
    this.setHorizontalAlignment(JLabel.CENTER);
    this.setVerticalAlignment(JLabel.CENTER);
    setIcon(image);
    else
    setBorder(BorderFactory.createLineBorder(Color.gray));
    setText("");
    setIcon(null);
    return this;
    I tried but when i am clicking a particular label, the color of all labels in the List is being changed. So can you please assist me in changing color of only the label that is selected and the color must disappear after completion of Upto completion of fireAcknowledgeEvent(ackEvent);

    im a bit confused with the post so hopefully this will help you, if not then let me know.
    I think the problem is that in your renderer your saying
    setBackground(header.getBackground());which is setting the backgound of the renderer rather than the selected item, please see an example below, I created a very simple program where it adds JLabels to a list and the renderer changes the colour of the selected item, please note the isSelected boolean.
    Object "value" is the currentObject its rendering, obviously you may need to test if its a JLabel before casting it but for this example I kept it simple.
    populating the list
    public void populateList(){
            DefaultListModel model = new DefaultListModel();
            for (int i=0;i<10;i++){
                JLabel newLabel = new JLabel(String.valueOf(i));
                newLabel.setOpaque(true);
                model.addElement(newLabel);
            this.jListExample.setModel(model);
            this.jListExample.setCellRenderer(new RowHeaderRenderer());
        }the renderer
    class RowHeaderRenderer extends JLabel implements ListCellRenderer
        JTable theTable = null;
        public Component getListCellRendererComponent(JList list, Object value,
                                                      int index, boolean isSelected, boolean cellHasFocus){
            JLabel aLabel = (JLabel)value;
            if (isSelected){
                aLabel.setBackground(Color.RED);
            }else{
                aLabel.setBackground(Color.GRAY);
            return aLabel;
    }
