Change Cursor in javascript = image flicker

Hi,
I am using a javascript call to change the cursor as part of a drag and drop javascript region. The call is like this:
document.body.style.cursor = 'pointer';
This works fine, although creates a strange image redraw / flicker whenever I call it. I get the same thing with htmldb_Get.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Cursor keys do not properly change to next/previous image

Since a few days, one of my two Lightroom-computers shows a permanent, quite annoying bug, regarding the curser left/right key:
It happens in loupe view:
When I press the cursor-right key, Lightroom doesn't change to the next image
Instead, it doesn't stop changing to the next image before it reaches the end of the folder .
Correspondingly with cursor-left, which takes me always to the first image in of the folder...
Browsing in loupe view is nearly impossible, just the mousewheel still allows to change to the next/previous image.
This happens for all sets, catalogues, folders, etc. If I have selection, then it takes me to the first/last image of the selection, nothing in between possible.
Any advice, what went wrong with my system? Everything was smooth a few weeks ago, and everything works fine on my other computer, which should just behave the same...

After hours of testing, I identified the reason:
The problem was raised by the service "skdaemon.exe".
It's meant to be a keyboard enhancing utility, which was preinstalled (und later updated) on this computer.
After deactivation (from autostart), LR works fine again, and I didn't notice any missing keyboard functions yet.
Maybe, this helps someone else in getting around that problem, and thanks for the support.

When mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker

I am running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop (P500-ST5807).
When the mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker. The problem seemed to start after I clicked "hide pointer while typing". I tried unchecking "hide pointer while typing" but this did not correct the problem. I have also tried adjusting the touchpad settings to less sensitive -- this did not help either. I have searched the internet and all types of "cursor flicker" seems to be a common problem.
Would anyone have a simple solution?

i want to change cursor to hourglass when a new servlet is loading. working of my program is that on click of submit,the present servlet unloads and a new servlet is loaded.this new servlet takes time. so i can't write the code in prevoius servlet for cursor and the new servlet which is being loaded changes cursor to hourglass only after fully loading. please help me in this regard

Write the javascript, flush the output stream, and the hourglass should be shown right away...
note: You should write some stuff before the javascript -- send some text maybe the top of the output page. IE has some internal buffer you have to fill up before server-side flushing works.
Again: You should make sure you send the javascript and flush before you start processing.
Also: You will not be able to do a send redirect if you use this approach. If this is not satisfactory, you could try using one of the "Please Wait" mechanisms described on this site (use the forum or google search for JSP "Please Wait" to find them) to do the job.

How to change the default BC image that shows in the address bar?

Does anyone know how to change the default BC image that shows in the address bar? I want to swap it out so the client logo shows next to their URL.

If you are trying to change the favicon for your site,
You can do it from Site Manager-> Page template -> Default Template
Look for the code <link type="image/x-icon" href="/Path for your image" rel="icon" />, and Click save.
Now where you will use this template, it will display your favicon for that webpage instead of BC favicon. You can define it on Page directly if you are not going to use template.
Please let me know if you have any doubt.

How to block changes of desktop background image

I manage a 30-computer Mac lab in a public high school and I would like to prevent users from changing the desktop background image.
As far as I know, there are two ways to change the desktop background image: through System Preferences and by right-clicking an image and selecting Set Desktop Picture.
Blocking System Preferences is easily done through Parental Controls.
But how do I prevent the right-click, Set Desktop Picture method of changing the desktop image?
You can imagine the kinds of images that end up as desktop backgrounds in a high school computer lab.

You might try going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts. In the left pane select Services, then uncheck the item "Set Desktop Picture" under Pictures in the right pane. Once that's done, block that prefs pane.

How can I change the default cover image in iTunes?

Good evening everyone!
I've scoured the web for this info but can't seem to find it. Is there a way to change the default cover image in iTunes to one of my choosing? You know the one I'm talking about right? The transparent CD cover with the musical note in the middle of it... the one that shows up when iTunes can' find appropriate cover art for your music. I have another image I'd like to use instead, as I've never liked the default image at all. The one I have to replace it is an image of a blank CD case. Kinda cool and would look infinitely better than the default in my opinion.
Has anyone done this before? If so, can you describe to me how it's done, or point me to somewhere on the web that describes how? Many, many thanks in advance Have a great weekend!!!

I understand what you mean - I too, would like to see some variability in the 'default'. Besides having a single default, I would step that up to a default that changes with genre and media: ie. I could see using a sax for Jazz; a microphone for a Podcast, etc.
I don't have the answer to your question yet, but I think I'm going to crack open the iTunes package to see what default images there are embedded in there.

How do I change the size of images for a collage?

I am trying to create a collage in Photoshop CS4. I have found info on this and know that I need to create the background layer and then drag the images I want onto the background layer, then free transform the images to make them the sizes that I want. However, when I do this the image becomes distorted. Is there some way to make the images smaller and still retain the integrity of the image? As it works now the people in my images are getting stretched out one direction or another. Any information, or direction to information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I'm not the most experienced yet, so there may be an easier way. But, first, the images and the background should be the same resolution...which you can check/change by going to Image-->Image Size. Then after dragging to your background use the free transform from the corner, while holding down the shift key. This will keep it proportional.

I opened a .dng image in LR and then opened it in the Develop module. I clicked on Crop Overlay and then on the ‘As Shot’ drop down menu (the lock is closed) and cropped to 11 x 17 and clicked ‘Done’-.
I click Cntl-E and the image opens in CC. There I click on Image > Image Size and the Image Size is 13.288 inches by 20.533 inches.
Why does the image size change?
I believe there is a menu to control the size of the image and I've looked everywhere I can think of in LR and CC, I googled various descriptions and I checked two of Scott Kelby's books, but I just can't figure out how to keep the image a consistent size when moving between LR and CC.

In Lightroom all editing is undoable/nondestructive.
Hence a crop of 3x2 is not inches, centimetres, pixels or anything else. It is jst a ratio. When a file is exported, either to PS or disk, then the crop ratio has size determined in respect of pixels and inches or cms.
So my 6000x5000 pixel image I will crop to 3x2 that leaves (before exporting) a 6000x4000 file.
Now when exported it can be set to export at
100pixels per inch and will end up at 60x40" when printed.
200pixels per inch will end up at 30x20"
300ppi will end at 20x13.3"
You will notice in the Crop Tool there are no size denominations such as inches or centimetres as an image file only has pixels and the determination of size is done through exporting or printing.

What is the proper way to provide a custom cursor and drag image in 1.4 DnD? Say we initiate the drag on a component that supports data transfer (such as a JTree).

Well, this is strange. My app was locking up (100% CPU) when using DND from windows Explorer.
I noticed that another part of the same appliction was working perfictly. The difference: JFrame .vs. JDialog. I switched the offending JDialog to a JFrame and all works perfictly now!

Changing the size of images displayed when a thumbnail is clicked

In an Aperture gallery, how do I change the size an image is displayed when a thumbnail is clicked. There are sliders for changing the size of the thumbnail; I can't find an adjustment anywhere for the size an image is displayed when the curved arrow in the upper left hand corner is clicked.

Do you mean "double-clicked"? In "Browser" mode, when I click on a photo, nothing changes. However, when I double-click on a photo, it switches to "Viewer" mode.
However, I'm missing the curved arrow that you mention. I can't find any photos with a curved arrow over them in any mode. In fact, the only overlays are the badges in the lower right.
Can you be a little more specific about exactly what mode you are in?

Menu still images "flicker" ever so slightly

Hi,
I have a question about still images used on my main menu after building with DVD SP.
For my main menu, I am using three different photographs. After I build the DVD and mount it in DVD player, parts of the image "flicker" or "wiggle" a little bit- I don't really know a better way to describe it.
I have tried to get rid of this using a lot of different methods, all involving Photoshop. I have used TIFs, JPGs; 300 and 72 ppi images; different sizes, etc., but to no avail. The wiggling usually involves a small part of the image, and it is not really terrible, but it is kind of annoying. Regardless of the technique I use to make and save the images in Photoshop, it always seems like it's the same part of the image that behaves this way.
Does anybody know what is happening here, and if so, is there a way that I can get rid of it?
