Change document items (CDPOS)

hello boss
how to use these tables CDPOS and CDHDR , in that i had given the document no as sceduling agreement no but i didnot get result,
in that table waht is that object value and change  doc object  what is that
kindly tell me what is the use of table , how to enter in that table, what were ans we were expect from these table?

CDHDR - Change Document Header table
CDPOS - Change Document Item table
Document number is the change document number, which you see when you goto display changes for any document or master data
To use this table you will need to know the document object. Document object a name give to various objects like PO, Material master etc. And object value is the number of you PO or scheduling agreement.
You can search by just entering scheduling agreement number in object value....but the search will take large time as index will not be accessed.
From this header table you wil get change document number. This number you take to CDPOS and then you will get the details of the changes done.

    Using *_CHANGE_DOCUMENT, we create change documents passing data through tables. Similarly
    is there any function module for getting back the change document items from CDPOS table in the same table format.
    For eg., if 2 database records ( with each having 6 fields) is creating 12 change document items in CDPOS table, is it possible to get those 2 records directly in db format.
    (I have tried CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_POSITIONS function module, but it gives back the 12 change document items. Using manual code only, again we have to convert it to db table format or is there any other function modules to get back those records directly?)

    If you are looking for the fm here it is.....
    you can check this CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_POSITIONS fm and its documentation.
    If it is suitable for your requirement copy the same fm and make it remote enabled.
    I think it should work for you.

  • BD52 Change Document Items - How to copy from one message type to another

    I have created a new messaget type for idoc MATMAS03, and has to implement change pointers for the new message type.
    I will use the same fields to trigger the change as is used for message type MATMAS. My problem is that it will be a really tiresome work to manually add all the fields in BD52 (605 entries).
    Is there any way that I can copy the entries from message type MATMAS to my new message type ?

    Hi Barbara, I can't explain this but it seems to be working now, even with the Tiff format.  I'm doing exactly what I was doing before - selecting an area on the photo, then pressing edit - copy.  Before I was getting an error message, but now I can copy the selection into another Tiff.  I must be doing something different or I must have changed a setting - I have no idea what, but the problem seems to have gone away. If only every problem was that simple! 
    The upshot is I can now edit in both Tiff and PSD and am really delighted with the help I received from this forum.  I know they were very basic questions, but sometimes those are the hardest to answer.

  • Change Document Read Positions

    Hi Gurs,
    I get an error message in the FM "Change Document Read Positions"
    which is used in FB03 the error message is
    "System error: Error in routine POSITIONEN_LESEN RC
    = 1"
    CDPOS table does not find a value for certain changenumber and hence the select query returs 0 sy-dbcnt
    which is why I get this error message ..
    could you help me in undersatnding where does this CDPOS gets populated and why is this so crucial here and how can I rectify this probs .

    Symptom
    When you display all change documents in the customer or vendor master data, the system generates error message F4308 "System error: Error in routine POSITIONEN_LESEN RC=1".

    Cause and prerequisites
    There are several entries in the change document header table (CDHDR), however, there are no corresponding change document items (CDPO). This may be due to report SAPF019 ("Deleting Master Data") which, in error, only deleted line item data (refer to Note 0134293).
    These change documents are old documents which were created when you used Release 4.0.
    <b>Solution</b>
    Execute report <b>YDELCDHD</b> of Note <b>134293</b> in the test mode and check whether the error is actually due to this problem. If so, execute report <b>YDELCDHD</b> in the update run.

    I have 42 transaction codes (e.g. QA11, QA12, QE51N, QE01, QE02, MM01, MM02) and I want to verify if "change document" logging is enabled for the critical data elements in these transactions. 
    I'm aware that you can individually check "change document" setting per table via SE11 > Enter Table Name > Technical Settings > “Log Data Changes” option.   Given the number of transactions (with multiple data elements) I need to check though, is there a  table in SAP where the field, table, tcode and existing change document setting can be viewed?

    you can also use following two table to view the change log at data element level:
    CDHDR - Change document header
    CDPOS - Change document items
    e.g. give the table CDHDR in SE16N enter your transactions field "TCODE", and date parameter, you can see the results.

      I am working with the archive engine. And i am using archiving classes for archiving of change documents (CDHDR/CDPOS). I have made all the customizing that has to be done in the engine. But somehow my change documents after having written into archive file are not getting deleted from the database when the delete phase is executed. Any help would be very useful.

    i checked in the SARA transaction the DB table names include that table..
    Scenario and problem i am facing:
    I have created a archiving object to archive some data in my project.. and to archive the associated change documents i have created the archiving class... my main header table data is working properly i mean its getting archived and deleted from db also.. but unfortunately the change documents associated with them is not getting deleted after the delete phase..
    And i dont know if they are getting archived as i dont know where in the archive file browser the change documents which are archived can be found.. Even if they are getting archived why are they not getting deleted???

    I want to view the action log and the changes of a functional location or an equipment in SAP PM, but when i go to Extras - Action Log or Extras - Display Changes, appears the message:
    No change document positions found
    Message no. CD649
    Diagnosis
    No change document item was found which satisfies the selection conditions.
    Procedure
    Pleas check the specified selection conditions.
    Maybe i have to activate something.
    Please help!

    Follow this IMG path:
    Equipment
    IMG => PM & CS => Technical Objects => Equipment => Equipment categories => Maintain Equipment category
    Select the equipment categories for which you want to maintain change documents.
    Functional Location:
    IMG => PM & CS => Technical Objects => Functional locations => Define category of FL.
    Check the Change documents tick box.

    I don't think that is possible. These are getting stored in Longtext (ie STXH & STXL) by retrieving this also we need to use fm READ_TEXT.
    and also in change document table CDPOS fields VALUE_NEW & VALUE_OLD have length limit of 254.

  • Change Document for IH08 (Equip Record)

    Hello,
    I need to track some specific fields for the equipment record (EQUI) that changes over time. We are currently using Change Documents (CDHDR & CDPOS) in order to achieve this (it worked with the majority of the fields).
    We have been told that we also need to track when an equipment change it status, for instance, the equipment has change from Active (ACTV) to Inactive (INAC). I'm wondering why this type of changes are not being populated neither in the CDHDR table nor CDPOS. I also went to the IH08 transaction -> Extras -> Display Changes and is not reflected there as well.
    Is the equipment status different than the other field changes? What would be the best approach in order to track if a Equipment Status changed?

  • Tracking of changes - no change documents

    Hi,
    We have a case where we need to pass to another system changes to records that are stored/created/changed in SAP. The challenge we have is that standard SAP does not create a change document for us to use as a way to quickly find out what has changed. What approach do you recommend in a case where changes need to be identified and pass over to another process, yet SAP does not store changes documents (CDHDR, CDPOS). Is usage of DBTABLOG and table logging a preferred method? Perhaps designing our own change determination logic and storing these in CDHDR/CDPOS (not sure it is possible)?

    True. But: The problem with SCU3 is that more than 1000 tables have the flag set by default. So if you want to use this technique for only a few tables, some other 1000 tables will also be logged. Unless of course that you delete the flag in all not required tables.
    P.S.: I just checked it in my development system: 2892 tables have the flag set by default. And this is just a small SAP_BASIS system. I guess it could be 5000 tables with the flag activated in a system with many applications installed.

    CDPOS AND CDHDR tables are updated with changed data. now i am trying to display all old and new data in se38 program.
    here my problem is when ever i changed multiple  item data , my program showing first item details only . I need to show all item data when ever i changed parallel . please help me where is my problem .

    I think this is issue with function module generated thru SCDO Please check in your function module inside that the following function modules are used
    CALL FUNCTION 'CHANGEDOCUMENT_OPEN'
    CALL FUNCTION 'CHANGEDOCUMENT_MULTIPLE_CASE'
    CALL FUNCTION 'CHANGEDOCUMENT_CLOSE'

    All the changes in the documents will be located in CDPOS and where as the status change documents are located in JCDS.
    What we have to do is to enter the  correct object number.

  • Problem with Change Document FM  - Not all fields are tracked in CDPOS

    Hello everybody,
    Using transaction SCDO and following necessary steps described in forum, I have created a change document ZFBR to track changes of a table ZFBR. The problem is, the generated FM ZFBR_WRITE_DOCUMENT does not track changes of some fields of the table (inserts are always ok, problem is with updates). After some debugging I realized that the FM DDIF_NAMETAB_GET was returning the table DFIES_TAB where the LOGFLAG was empty for some fields (which are not tracked) so that changes of these fields were not visible in table CDPOS. However, fields with LOGFLAG = 'X' are tracked succesfully (changes are visible in table CDPOS).
    I did not specify any fields to be get logged or not during the steps in SCDO (can we do such a specification anywhere?), does anyone know why the field LOGFLAG has the value '' (space)?

    The problem has been solved.
    The data elements used in a table are the reason for the problem I have described above. When displaying the details of a data element, under tab "Further Characteristics" , the "Change Document" checkbox has to be selected to enable change document tracking. I have copied the problematic data elements with Z prefix and made the necessary enabling. I have replaced the data elements with their Z equivalents.
