Change download columns from report

Hi! I have a report, with some columns and I'd like to change the columns when downloading as csv file.
Let's say that I have a report with col1,col2, col3,col4 and some hidden columns: col5, col6, col7. When I download the file I'd like to have only
col2, col3, col6, col7.
How can I do this?

Currently there is no way to do this. The CSV export function just re-runs the exact same report as you see it on the screen and transforms it to CSV format.
Another option is to create a report with the columns you want in the CSV on another page, and use the export:CSV template as in
http://tinypic.com/jzya2t.jpg
and provide a link to that page. This will run that page and instead of showing the page it will popup the File download box.

Download BLOB from report

Hi,
I would like to add a download link into a report for each row so that the user can download a BLOB. I have created a column in which to add a column link which when clicked will provide a popup which gives the user a choice of whether to save or open the file.
I can get this to work on a static file by adding "p?n=7101305566584499" to the URL field in the column link section or the report column, but cannot get it to work on a dynamically-created file. I have written a procedure to create a file of the BLOB and can get the BLOB to be opened in the browser if I add to the URL field: "#OWNER#.fossilapp_pkg.download_image_jpeg?p_image_id=#Download#" - I know, therefore, that both the file-generating procedure and the reference to it work. However, I don't want the image to be opened in the browser, but instead would like a popup to appear asking the user to save or open the file.
If I put "p?n=#OWNER#.fossilapp_pkg.download_image_jpeg?p_image_id=#Download#" into the URL field I get the following error when I click on the column link: "The requested URL /pls/apex/p was not found on this server."
Any ideas?

Hi,
I have found the problem - very simple really! I copied and modified a custom download procedure from somewhere on the forum and I have just noticed that 'Content-Disposition' was incorrectly spelled as 'Content-desposition'. Correcting this error means it now works!
Thanks for your help - yes, what you had on your website was exactly what I required. Sorry for adding random stats into it, though it was nice to 'win' £100,000! I couldn't find an obvious way to delete the stats I had added, but feel free to delete them and my profile (username=Lucy).

Downloading data from report painter report in background

Hi Guy,
I have a requirement where in have to schedule the job and download the data on application server from report which is been written report writter. there is an option to save the export paramater but i can download it only in forground.
Any one have any idea on this...or the other idea is to run the function and get the values from report written in report writer ...so i can use it in my program and download.

If you run program in Background job sheduled then goto Spool - > there you can file your report - You can download that report.

Apex 4.2: changing link column from ROWID to ID

Hello
I have a report linked to a form. The link column is currently ROWID and I want to change it to the Primary Key of the DB table, which is called ID.
I have done this before on a previous report/form where that ID was a display column and it works fine. Now I'm trying to copy what I did, which is this:
On the report page, go to Interactive Report attributes, scroll down to Link Column, and for Item 1, change the Name and Value.
The problem is that Name does not list P52_ID. If I type it in, it throws an error when I run the page.
I think I added ID, which is also a Display column, later on, so I wonder whether Apex has a refresh issue and can't "see" P52_ID.
Does anyone know how I refresh my list, or whether in fact something else is causing this?

Downloading files from report on page

on apex.oracle.com I have an app and I have uploaded a few pdf files via the "shared components->files->static files" The pdf name is ssgr.pdf I've got a table within my schema for item information and one of the columns references these files. I have the pdf name "ssgr.pdf" stored for one of my items.
Can I not use a column link and a url target set like p?n=#WORKSPACE_IMAGES##COLUMN_NAME# to download those files?
When I hover over my link column this is the url that is displayed

sorry, I just answered my own question. I removed the p?n= portion from the link column url, now when I click it I get an inline pdf. sweet!

Change sales orders from report

Hi there,
My report shows grid_display,
column1 is chechbox,
column2 is Sales Order number,
column3 is Sales Order description. here user has to check required sales Orders and press pushbutton in appl tool bar, all these Sales Orders(i.e. checked by user) have to be opend in changemode automatically one after another, where user can change accordingly. can anybody pls sugest logic for this.

Interactive report - exclude a column from download

We have an interactive report that is filtered, sorted, etc by the user to get the exact set of data that they need to download.
We need to download only certain columns of the report.
We don't want the users to have to hide columns.
I'm looking for something like the "include in export" that can be specified for each column in a standard report.
I don't see a place to set that in an interactive report.
Is there a setting that I've missed?
If not, any suggestions for possible solutions would be appreciated.

Download data from interactive report

Hi all. I'm on apex 3.1.1.00.09.
I have this problem: when I download data from interactive report I can download only in CSV and PDF. If I try to download into pdf it creates a file of only 1 KB.
I would know if I must configure my apex in order to download correctly in pdf and if I must configure it in order to download in doc and xls format.

How to change the column value which is coming from DO by a calculated field?

I want to change a column value based on my calculated field value. I have a column which is coming from DO which is based on External Data Source. I have a calculated field in my report. When there is any change in the calculated field then the column which is coming from DO needs to be changed. It means the DO needs to get updated when there is a change in the calculated field. Or like if the calculated field meets some condition then I need to change/update the same in the DO. This has to be done on the fly. the report should not submitted for this. when there is a change in the calculated column the DO column needs to get updated.

We are using Oracle 10g Application server (Forms and Report Services), Forms and Report., our most urgent requirement is End User have to build the required reports by him Like wizards style, (Example Adhoc, MIS reports)., More clear, from the form we want to show all the tables structures, queries, after that end user will choose some columns from the form and specified the condition by himself to run the report after that he will press start button , then automatically report has build for the selected columns from the end user., and this report is parmanent afterwords., he can use any time.
Like this kind of report building is possiable , anyone has faced same situation.

Yes it is.
In BW, this can be achieved by using document management. The option will be available to the user via context menu in the report (goto-->documents - text/pdf/img etc). In your case user can choose to create/change/display a 'text' document, which will be attached to the report.

Changing the color of sortable columns in reports

Hi all,
In my Report template (custom made) I have my headers as purple with white text, which is all good except when I make it sortable, it turns all black and hard to see against deep purple background.
Is there a way to retain (or change the column header to white) when I mark a column for "sort"??

In the same way you've changed the colours from the default, you should be able to dictate what colour is used when the field is sorted.
Check what classes are applied on your sorted column and adjust the CSS as necessary.

Presentation Layer column name change effects on existing reports ?

I have one requirement where user are not sure about the column names in Presentation Layer.
so they want us to create the reports and once the reports are delivered they will give us the column name as per their requirement.
now i read couple of blogs related to this, that does it affects the exiting reports?
in couple of blogs they says that i won't. becaus BI server creates the alias for the old name and will reflects it wherever it's used in reports..
So can anyone tell me where this alias name has been stored in OBIEE?
and is there any precaution that needs to be done while doing this beacuse we are expecting to create around 40-50 reports and changing the column name after changing the presentation layer name change will increase lots of work..

I've confirmed it on a 10g environment that when you rename the column in the RPD the existing reports reflect the change.
What I was referring to in the statement you highlight is that a column name can be changed when being used as the definition of a report. If somebody specifies an abbreviation of the current name to fit it in a table or chart then it will not be updated from a name change in the RPD.
So long as you build reports using the name provided by the RPD and none of the developers take the liberty of renaming it in the column properties of the request/analyses the single rename should take effect through all the reports you build.
You can also manage the column name by renaming it in a report and using the save as system wide default. But the way you intend to do it would be the best method.

Are you listing the billing address for the card correctly? The address in the iTunes/MAS account must match the address on your bill exactly.

Exclude column from interactive report when exporting data

Hello!
Is it possible to exclude column from exporting (using bi publisher) in interactive report, but having in report. So in report it is, but in export result it isnt :). I know, that I can just not to select this column in "Action" menu before exporting, but then to select it to view in report. But is it possible not to export this column, but having it in report result?
I Just have a checkbox in report, and I dont need to see it in export result.
