Change hidden field presence on event

G'day all,
Can someone please help me. I 3 hidden text fields that I want to change to visible, depending on which radio button is selected, however nothing happens when I click any of the radio buttons.
Any help would be much appreciated

Can't set a hidden field value from onClick event with a runtime expression

Hi,
I need to set a hidden field in an onClick event of button but it's not working.
<html:submit styleClass="btnLink" onclick="document.empForm.hidden.value='<%= empID%>'">
<%= empID%>
</html:submit>
Althought the second expression is evaluated and written successfully "the button value"
I heard that this is because you can't mix the value of an attribute of a custom tag with both string literal and run time expressions.
Is there any work around to solve that?
I can't use EL as I'm using old JSP version

I guess, it should work; instead of html:submit, try with button.

Change hidden form field value

hi everyone...i'm hoping someone can help me figure out how
to change the value of a hidden field in a form. i have a page
setup where users pay a website fee. since the fee is always the
same, i have the amount setup in a hidden field in my form. my
question is, i'd like to use promo codes. so i'll add a box in my
form that says "enter promo code." then there's a link in the form
that says "apply promo code." i'm thinking that link needs to
refresh my page and take the value entered by the user in the promo
code form field and place it in the url. that way i can write a
cfif statement to change the value of the hidden field. the problem
is, i can't figure out how to "refresh" the page and take the value
out of the form field and place it in the url. hope this makes
sense. maybe someone can offer a better way to do this? i'd truly
appreciate any help anyone can offer. thanks!

You would change the amount on the processing page with
ColdFusion (after the form is submitted), but prior to the CFHTTP
call. You really should familiarize yourself with CFHTTP (check
online documentation). It sounds like it is exactly what you need.

Changing data in 'hidden' fields through BSP

Hi all,
We are using custom copy of hap_document BSP and in there i am trying to change values in the appraisal document using application->doc. I am able to change the values for the fields that are displayed in the layout in the application->doc-t_body_cell_notes, but not able to change the values for hidden fields(that have 'H' in application->doc-t_body_cells-cell_note_availability).
Is it impossible to change data for hidden fields?
Please let me know if anyone of you had ever done something like this earlier.

In the HAP_DOCUMENT there is a cell for employee comments. Now i am hiding the cell in the BSP and when user clicks on a dropdown i am changing the value in the cell say from ABC to XYZ programatically. The document is being updated with the XYZ value when the cell is either in change/display mode but not in hidden mode. in hidden mode, When i change the value to XYZ and save the cell gets empty and doesnt have the previous value ABC also.
I am changing the value in the cell using below code:
   READ TABLE application->doc-t_body_cell_notes INTO s_cell_notes
     WITH KEY column_iid = '0001' row_iid = '0002'.
   IF sy-subrc = 0.
     s_cell_notes-tdline = 'XYZ'.
   ENDIF.
   MODIFY application->doc-t_body_cell_notes
      INDEX sy-tabix FROM s_cell_notes
      TRANSPORTING tdline.
   ENDIF.

Help, signatureValidate() function doesn't work on hidden fields

I am trying to use the signatureValidate() function to check if any signature fields are signed. I am doing this because I need to have the signature fields lock the form manually so that a specific department can make changes after signatures have been applied (via a password field). I got the signature fields to lock the form and I can unlock everything with a password dialog. However, I am trying to add some code to the Change event so that if a user clears their signature and no other signatures have been applied, then the form will unlock. I wrote a script that checks the signature validation of each signature field to verify that all of them are unsigned, and it works perfectly until one of the signature fields becomes hidden. Then the code just doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to check if a signature field (which may or may not be hidden) has been signed? Below is the code that I am using:

The fields are supposed to be hidden when the form is opened, but can be "added" (made visible) by the user to allow for additional signatures. I use hidden fields rather than a simple Add Instance because of data binding issues.
I tried modifying the script to make the fields visible, fire the validation, and then hidden again, but for some reason it would either not work or it would make them visible after the first change and then hidden only if the field was changed again. Also, the code has to be able to recognize whether the fields were hidden before the code fired. If the were, they should be hidden afterwards. If they weren't then nothing needs to happen to them.
I have tried using an IF statement to run a validation on the fields based on which ones are visible, but that doesn't seem to work either. Here is an example:

ISA Shop hidden field value lost

Hi,
I have a problem with the Internetshop. I need to change a value in a field like
<input type="hidden" name="savefield" value="">.
I change the value withe a onclick javascript event. I use a alert message to show me that the value changed.
The function of this value is to differ between the normal shop basket and my arranged basket.
There will be an if-term which will use this value and change the basket.
But every time i look into the hidden field its null.
Has anyone an idea whats the problem is?

Add hidden fields in ALV

   I wanna add a new field in ALV field catalog, so that when user choose function Change Layout to decide which fields are showed, they can choose the new field.
In orginal source, the ALV uses field catalog from structure<b> LIPOV.</b> And the field I wanna add is just a normal text field (char15, for example) and its data will be extracted from a select statement.
So, Here is the logic of report:

I have a new problem. Now, the new field appears in Selection. However, displaying the new field is impossible. My problem is:
- In default, 8 fields will display. Then, I use CHANGE LAYOUT to choose the new field which will be at 9th position. -> <b>I got a dump</b>... It informs that a Field Symbol is not assigned.
- Now, with the 8 fields above, I replace 8th position by the new field => It does not give me a dump but New field shows value of 8th field. I mean, if at first, 8th field is Quantity with value 10. Then I replace 8th field by my new field. When displaying again, it also gets 10 as its value.
- It is so strange. Because in function 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY', I used itab_data1, which consists of all field of itab_data and an addition field (NEW). I dont know why it does not show value of the new field while all old fields have right values. (before using that function, I copied all contents of itab_data to itab_data1)

No time field in an event added by pressing down a date in the month view of the calendar!, no time field in an event added by pressing down a date in the month view of the calendar!

I have been trying to add time to an event i already added but the time field does not exist.
this happens only when I add the event from the month view while I press a date. in no other senario does this happens.
may be its a bug in the calendar.
if I press the + sign then it's normal.
any suggestions on how to fix this?

there is edit button; however, my problem comes after that. if the event was added using the above method then there is still no way to change the time of the event in that date. if the event was added in any other way then I can change the time.
and I just realized my iphone3gs with ios5.0.1 has the same exact bug.

          ... ( that is, if I remove the double quotes ) then MSIE is Ok but ... instead
          of 'Ionut RUSUBOCA' I only get 'Ionut'.
          Could you, please, help me make MSIE see the correct value that is 'Ionut RUSUBOCA'

          Indeed, when I quote value="<%=myValue%>", I get in MSIE value = "Ionut RUSUBOCA"
          but it does not make any difference : it breaks.
          If I take out the quotes ( value = <%=myValue%> ) then the source is viewed as
          value = Ionut RUSUBOCA and when the form
          gets submitted I only get 'Ionut' as value.
          This is weird, so to speak.
          Can you reproduce this thing in your system ?

How do I change a field in the sum in ALV (List or grid)

My alv, for example:
1.10
2.30
1.50
Sum(DO_SUM) : 4.90
But I need to CEIL( 4.90 ) before showing .
It should be shown as 5.00 in alv.
How do I change this field in the sum ?

Changing a field based on another field

hi one and all
i am looking for a way to change a field based on another field. if i have item 2 and item 8 on the page and item 8 needs to be required based on item 2 based on a requirement, how would this be done.
ex if item 2 has a PO inputed, when it is moved off the field, item 8 should be changed from required false to required true. i have tried in both the process request and process form request with no luck
any suggestions.

Why my JSP page can't get the value of a hidden field

Hi, I got an interesting question here.
I use req.getParameter() method to get a hidden field in Servlet, it works just fine.
However, when I use the JSP to catch the value of that hidden field, JSP just can't, but if I change the type from hidden to text, it works fine again.
the code is as follows:
there are two jsp pages:game.jsp and GameMonitor.jsp.
In game page:

I want GameMonitor.jsp to catch the value of hidden field "p1" by calling request.getParameter()
the code catching it in the GameMonitor.jsp is:

supurisingly, the result is option=[], which means it didn't catch the value of the p1 submitted by POST method.
Does anybody here can tell what's wrong in the code?

Thank you so much, I also found this error, which makes JSP not able to catch the hidden field, however, if I change it to text type, even the comma exists, it still works. pretty interesting!

And ensure that you're submitting the form data.

Hidden Field Value

I want to import a value from a visible field to a hidden
field. The data will be sent to a mySQL DB via php. I've tried
changing the php script to obtain the results I want
unsuccessfully. A hidden field should also do the trick but I'm not
sure how to accomplish the task. A google search turned up some
javascript which I've been working with today, but still haven't
gotten to work correctly.
Basically, the form has a text field called duration. I want
the user inputed value of the duration field to be copied to a
hidden field called xc. Thanks for any input or ideas?

BTW, using the following onSubmit and script works correctly
as the database receives the information, but a pop-up is triggered
when the Submit button is pressed. Any ideas why this is?
If I can rid the pop-up, the js will work great.
