Change log table for Vendor Bidder information?
Hi,
In BBPMAININT transaction we have BIDDER DATA tab.
If we change any Classification data in BIDDER DATA tab for the Vendor in which table it updates the change log information?
I checked in BBP_SUPP_MONI table this table updates only when we change any Company data information for the vendor not Bidder tab.
can any one help me?
Thanks.
Hi
There is no standard report.
But you can check in CDHDR & CDPOS tables for change log.
Object Class= BUPA_BBP0020
Tabname=BBPM_BUT_FRG0021

Hi gurus
In my start rotine how do i use change log table for e.g i want to delete the records where RECORDMODE ='x' HOW can i reference change log table.because when i use the start routine is it only good for active table? becasue all the changed i m getting in changelog table and my dtp i m extracting data from changelog table but i want to delete data from that table how do i refer.
thanksrecordmode is a part of your source_package as well as result_package.
hence you can access it is start routine also.
you can delete the source package where recordmode = 'X'.
but doing so it may result inconsistency in your change log table.
the only concern is be sure what you want to achieve as 'X' is before image ( i.e reverse of new image loaded earlier). -
Need of Change log deletion for a DSO, when DTP delta Init with Active Tabl
Hi,
Thanks for your time, please help me with the following
Scenario: I have Cube1 being updated from DSO1 with DTP delta, for quite some time. As per new requirement, I would need to create new data mart such that Cube2 gets updated from DSO1.
In order to Configure the delta, I am Considering Following options, please let me know, which one is right one.
Note: DSO1 is in Overwrite Mode.
Create one DTP with update Mode "Delta" , and "Active Table". I knew Delta Changes are captured in change log, but my understanding is, when you execute the DTP for the First time, it fetches the records from Active Table. And from 2nd Run onwards the very "same DTP" without "any changes" get the records from change log, even if we choose "Active Table".
is my understanding is Right?
Do I have to consider deleting the change log, because DSO1 is in Production from quite some time which is in Overwrite mode?
Do I have to create a DTP with Delta and Active Table, run the dtp Once(Init), then choose "Change Log for subsequent runs explicitly
please help me with these. I have reviewed many sap help articles and sdn threads but none of them were helpful. all of them explains, difference b/w active table and change log table, also gives scenarios like use a full DTP and then 2nd DTP with Delta without Data transfer. I am not looking for that kind of details.
Appreciate any help, Thanks again
Edited by: curious maven on Mar 28, 2011 8:35 AMHi Uma,
Thanks for your response.
to your question, If I need to load all the data from DSO1 to Cube1, answer is NO. if you read my post once again,
Existing Flow is : DSO1 --> Cube1 (Means, Active Table and Change Logs of DSO1 already Filled Up)
Requirement is: DSO1 --> Cube2. (Need to Init the Delta, and Detlas going forward)
My Questions:
(1) Imagine, DSO1 has 10 requests, so we see resepctive data in Active Table as well as Change Log. As a matter of fact, Data is being updated to DSO1 in Overwrite Mode, so all the changes(10 requests equivalent) would be captured in Change Log, which in turn helpful / used when we do Delta from DSO1 to any Cube, in my case, it used to update to Cube1. As per new requirement, it needs to update to Cube2.
My assumption is, if I choose "Active table and Delta in Extraction Tab" in DTP, During First Run (Delta Init), Data would be fethed from Active table. And the 2nd Run Onwards, delta records would be fetehced from Change Log automatically, even if we don't change the selection from Active Table to Change Log.
Is My Assumption Right?,
in this process, Do I have to Delete Change Log
(2) Do I have to Explicitly change DTP setting from "Active Table to Change Log" Once Delta Init has been run with setting "Active table" inorder to get Deltas from DSO1 --> Cube2 ?
Appreciate your help

Change Log Table entries without Dates and How to Delete these entries !!
Hello Experts,
I was analyzing Change Log tables of some DSOs and figured out in some tables we don't have Date Column and some tables with date columns but many entries with "00/00/0000" date.
Any ideas on this ? Any idea how records can get into the table without dates and if SAP provides a safe way to remove them (without dates) ?
Many Thanks in advance, Please help.
Regards,
S. PatelHi Sunil
Date fileds 00/00/0000 means date are blank..that means either you did not get them from source system or the transformation is not mapped.
Do not delete change log selectively, that might affect your delta loads.
Rather delete old change log ...
From DSO administration ---use the main menu to choose Environment ® Delete Change Log Data.
For more information you can check the log below.
Cheers

Where to see the images other than change log table
Dear all,
How to view images for extraction's (example Generic ) in DSO without using Change log table.
With Regards,
BaskaranHi,
There is no other option other than change log table to view the images.
in PSA..we will get only raw data..i.e...its non other than the data how its posted in source sytem.we can say..this is only copy of source sytem data.
after PSA,if the datasource is DELTA enabled(which can sustain NEW or CHANGED records-here only we get concept of IMAGES),we have to load this data only to DSO.from there after activation of the data, the data can be updated to further data targets only from CHANGE LOG table which can maintain images.
Even further targets are also DSOs,we will have to load from this DSO only.so we can see images only in change log table.
hope this is clear for you.

Delete Entries of Change Log Table
Can any one tell me when do we require to delete the content of the change log table of standard DSO. I am just fresher to SAP BI.
Thank YouHi
Deleting data from the change log for an ODS object is recommended if several requests, which are no longer required for the delta update and also are no longer used for an initialization from the change log, have already been loaded into the ODS object. If a delta initialization for the update exists in connected data targets, the requests have to be updated first before the respective data can be deleted in the change log.
Only a temporary, limited history is then retained. The change log can possible become so large you might want to reduce the amount of data volume and delete data for a specific time period.
How to Delete it
Since the change log is also stored as a PSA table, you can use the function for deleting data from the PSA to delete data from the change log.
In the ODS object administration, use the main menu to choose Environment -
> Delete Change Log Data.
Or
Go to the PSA tree.
Use the main menu to choose Settings -
> Display Generated Objects, so that you can display the InfoSource for your ODS object. Your InfoSource has the same name as your ODS object, along with the prefix u20188u2019.
Use the context menu to choose Delete Change Log Data.

How to update the change log table?
Hi
I am doing some manipulation on the ODS records and writing few new records directly into the active table of my ODS. how do i update the change log table so that i can do a delta from my ODS to further data targets??
i see the fields REQUEST, DATAPAKID, PARTNO and RECORD in the change log table. what values should these fields have for my new records??
Regards
SujaiHi,
Please try this option. In stead of writing directly into DSO, do it in another Custom Z DSO. From there, do the FULL load to your previous DSO. This will ensure that the data consistence through the system. Also, do not forget to delete the data from Custom Z DSO once you successfully loaded the data.
Thanks,
Saru

Hi
I have a ODS in which the active records are 608423.
And when i look into the Change log table the records are 1216846 with the status new (N) and 1108438 with status (X) and 1108438 (with status ' ' ).
I did a full load and a delta and this is a Over write ODS. I am little confused with this logic, how it put exactly the double number of records with status (N) in the change log when compared to the active table.
Thx
Thejo.Hi Thejo,
If you changed a key figure then in the change log you'll see one storno (with minus) record for an old KF value and a new record with a new KF value.

Open Hub fetching data from Change log table
Hi Gurus,
I have a scenario where in I have an Open Hub destination whose source is a DSO, and we are sending data into SAP Data services. We found that the data being sent is from the change log table. Is this how an Open Hub with DSO as a source works ? Or is there any possible way we can send data from the Active table of the DSO, when the DTP is run.
Kindly help. Thanks in advance !
Regards
SnehithHi,
For Extraction from the DataStore Object, we have the following options for Delta init Extraction:
Active Table (with Archive)
The data is read from the active table and from the archive or from a near-line storage if one exists. You can choose this option even if there is no active data archiving process yet for the DataStore object.
Active Table (Without Archive)
The data is only read from the active table. If there is data in the archive or in a near-line storage at the time of extraction, this data is not extracted.
Change Log
The data is read from the change log of the DataStore object
We can select any of these options for data trasnfer.

Deletion of data from change log table and PSA
Hi,
For a DSO I want to delete data from "Chnage log table" and " PSA Tabel".
For the DSO manage screen I have seen " Environment-> " Delete changelog table" from this we can delete chnage log table data as per my understanding.
at PSA Level Mange screen also I have seen " Environment-> " Delete changelog table" from this option also it deletes the data from change log table or it deletes data from PSA table?.
if this option also deletes data from changelog table then how we can delete data from PSA table?
Please clarify meHi,
I am not sure what are you referring to from your point "PSA Level Mange screen also I have seen " Environment-> " Delete changelog table". When ever you click on manage for your psa you will be routed to a popup where you can see all your requests in the PSA table & there after if you click on any single request you will get Environment menu option but there wotn be any change log deletion option available. Please check again? Right clicking on your data source will take you to the manage requests for PSA. You can selectively delete the requests as required.
For DSO when you right click on manage you can directly find Delete change log data option in the Environment tab. there you can select the requests you want to delete.
Also if you want to automate the deletion process then you can simply create a chain and include the steps for PSA deletion & change Log deletion accordingly.
Also it is recommended to keep on clearing the PSA table & Chage log data at regular intervals as it saves the disk space & thus helping in performance optimization
Please refer the below doc at SDN, it will be helpful for you in automating the process of change log deletion & PSA deletion.

Hope it clears your doubts

What do the Request Nos in Change Log table mean?
Hi,
I'm checking the change log tables of some ODSs. In the "Request" column, there are requests starting with ODSR* and REQU. These numbers are the same as the ones seen in the Manage screen under the "PSA Request Number" and "Request Number" cols respectively. I want to know, when does data come under the ODSR requests and when does it come under the REQU* requests.
BW version: 3.5Hi,
The changelog of the ods is actually the PSA for the export datasource. That may happen in case of ODS. For ODS change log data and PSA (for subsequent target from this ODS) are stored in the same table (change-log of the ODS table) . Those data are identified in the same table as "ODSR" for change log entries and "REQU" for PSA entries.
Hope it helps..
