Change Message Mapping object

Hi all,
I have a very interesting question.
We have a couple of scenarios where reports are extracted on ECC 6.0 and the data is sent out via client proxies to PI and then to File system
Earlier the functional team was OK with couple of fields from the table. Now the business rek changed and we have to extract all fields of the tables. There are tables with 160 fields of which some of them are optional on ECC.
As some of the fields are optional, I have to use "mapwithDefault" as it is a fixed length file format.
I am just trying to put "mapwithDefault" for each of the fields. In order to not to take chances and I also have defined 0..1 occurence for all the fields.
Is there any way easy way of doing this - insteading of going with each of the fields.
Can I edit the mapping program itself?
I hope I am clear
reg

None that I am aware of. If you do find such a option, let us know.

  • XI Configuration Design questions with multi-mapping message mapping object

    Hello,
I'm having trouble designing a particular scenario for multi-mapping.  Currently i'm working with a Vendor create and change.  BPM is not being used.
    This is what i need:
I need a CREMDM04 to turn into one or multiple ADRMAS/CREMAS IDocs and potentially a CLFMAS IDoc based on the values in the inbound CREMDM04 IDoc.
This is what i currently have:
A CREMDM04 inbound idoc is multi-mapped to a CREMDM03 (1...9999), another CREMDM03 (0...9999), and a CLFMAS01 (0...9999).  At a minimum only the first CREMDM03 IDoc will be created and at a maximum all three will be created.  The parameters on creating the second CREMDM03 IDoc and the CLFMAS01 IDoc are based on the values in the inbound CREMDM04 IDoc, whereas the first CREMDM03 IDoc will always be created and the values will just be converted/mapped from the inbound CREMDM04 IDoc.  This multi-mapping is currently set-up via a graphical message map and works successfully in the test-tab of the mapping object.  It has a main message and has sub-messages which are the IDocs.  I’m mapping the CREMDM04 to a CREMDM03 to then map it through an ABAP-Class and then to an XSL where the CREMDM03 inbound structure is expected to split into ADRMAS and CREMAS Outbound IDocs for Vendor Create/Change in the remote R/3 systems.
After the graphical map we have a necessary ABAP Class call that calls a BAPI to the remote system.  This ABAP Class must come after the graphical map since the parameter for the BAPI is based on a converted value from the graphical multi-map.
After the ABAP Class call there is finally an XSL message split the CREMDM IDoc into an ADRMAS and CREMAS IDoc.  There need to be two interface mappings (one per ADRMAS and CREMAS) since the ABAP classes and XSLs are specific to the ADRMAS and CREMAS.
The CLFMAS IDoc can go directly to the remote system, but since it’s within this one multi-map, I’m not sure if is possible?  I’m not sure if it will fail once it tries entering the XSL mapping (this is the standard CREMDM message split offered from SAP).
There are three interface mapping scenarios I can think of, but cannot get to work:
    CREMDM04 to ADRMAS02
    CREMDM04 to CREMAS03
    CREMDM04 to CLFMAS01
Currently I have the Interface Mapping structured as follows:  (I cannot get this to activate as it appears it does not work)
Multi-Mapping ==> ABAP Class Call ==> Standard XSL Message Split
How should i design the interface mapping objects and the configuration objects for this scenario?
Any help is appreciated and I definitely will reward points (no need to include it in your response).

    Hi,
I suggest you may use multiple steps interface mapping. It's composited with 3 message mappings as step by step.
Mapping 1: One to one mapping. For the output schema, use a composition schema which includes those 3 IDOCs you want.
Mappign 2: ABAP Mapping. I am not sure the ABAP class you mentioned is an ABAP mapping or not. If it does, That's ok. If not,
call that ABAP class in your ABAP mapping and do corresponding change for your message. Return back the same structure as output.
Mapping 3: One to multiple mapping to split the message.
So basically as interface mapping, it's one to multiple mapping. And internally, you have 3 steps to realize the mapping.
And as my experience, for both one to multiple message mapping & multiple steps interface mapping, it works well in my project. And
in ID, you have to configure it via "advance" function in receiver determination or interface determination.
Let me know if any confusion.
    Thanks
    Nick

  • Change message mapping

    Dear experts,
As i am very to XI,to some this question might seem a little absurd.
But it is alway better to work safely so i am asking.
I am asked to change Fix Values in one of message mapping. At the same time i am asked to insert a new value also.
I did so in fix values list matching key to a value. Then i used MessageMapping ->Save.Change become persistent showing
a pencil icon on that message mapping.
I did this activity in DEV.Is this right way or i still further need to activate this mapping or any other step.I just want to confirm
whether the required change is done ?

    Hi Sharma,
    1. Once you have done the changes then you have to activate that object.
    2. Once the object is activated then we have to send that object to the PIQ (Quality) as well as PIP (Production) systems.
    3. Update the technical spec (documentation) accordingly.

  • Change Message Mapping / Cannot change / Pen not active?!

    Hi there,
i have a Problem. I have to change a Message Mapping.
SAP sended me a Note with a Word Doc where is described what i have to change..
But in the Integration Builder Design i cannot change a mapping.. cause the PEN in the Menu is greyed out...?!

  • Problem in context changing ( message mapping )

    <u>source structure    </u>
    Message Name
    Header(1)
        H1
        H2
    LineItem(1)
      Item(1-unbounded)
        I1
        I2
    <u>target structure</u>
    Message name
    Header(1)
       H1
       status
    LineItem(1)
      Item(1-un)
       I1
       I2
The result for status should be as follows
    <i>if h1 = x then status = ‘H1’failed else if h2 = x then status = ‘H2’failed
    else if I1 = x then status = ‘I1’failed else if I2 = x then status = ‘I2’failed.</i>
    Problem :
It works perfect as long we have only one Item (Unbounded Tab).
But since it is unbounded  we have more than one item tabs.
The mapping does not produce the status element.
I tried removing the context of all the source fields, but still I coudnt produce the status element. I don’t know where to change the context.
Can somebody help me with this issue.
    Thanks in advance .
    Disney.

    Hi,
I was able to do it with the graphical mapping using standard functions only.
The output will have only one status , the place where the 1st error shows up..like it checks in header fields first, then it takes items one by one.
It is very big though & would be much simpler to do something like what stefan proposed.
Just for info this is the Text Preview for the Mapping i did...(Is there a way, if i have this to upload to a mapping?)

    /ns0:MT_TRGT/Header/H1=/ns0:MT_SRC/Header/H1=

  • Message id in the message mapping object

I'm working on a non BPM process and would like to add message id to a target field. How can do this in a simple way.
    Thank you.

    It works...
    I used this code
    GlobalContainer globalContainer1 = container.getGlobalContainer();
    String b = (String) globalContainer1.getParameter("mymessid");
    result.addValue(b);

  • How to Transport only Message mapping in already created transport.

    Hi All,
I have changed message mapping object in ESR and now need to transport the new version to Q enivroment using CTS.
Can somebody tell me the detailed steps for doing this.???
    Thanks in advance!!!!

    hi,
you refer from 33 page on words below in doc :
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20ccd0ec-2839-2b10-0097-828fcd8ed809?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
becuase i dont know are u release the transport /not.
if ur release and everything fine, then simply go to QUAlity Sys -> tools-> impoted desig time obj.

I had configured some message mapping object and averything was ok. I could activate that and do the test of mapping. When I try to change dependecies in that object I see this error. Now I can not even activate that object and test it. Now when I try to create and configure new message mapping I have got the same problem.
What I have to do in that situation?
    Can somebody help me?

    Hi,

  • Insufficient authorization to display object Message Mapping

    Hi there
Every now and then when I try and open a message mapping object I get this error: Insufficient authorization to display object Message Mapping. I then restart my Integration Builder then it works again.
Any Idea how I would fix this?
    Thanks,
    Jan

    hi,
apart from what was said you can try changing
    com.sap.aii.ib.util.server.auth.activation
    parameter in exchangeprofile to false
if you don't use any data-dependent authorizations
then you should never see this error
    maybe this will help
but remember that if you want to use data-dependent authorizations
in the future you need to put it back to true again

  • Unable to activate Message Mapping (Until i restart PI )

    Dear all,
    I am using PI 7.1.
I am trying to activate the message mapping objects in ESR. but it is not getting activated.
I see the following error message in the process log:
Activation of the change list canceled
Check result for Message Mapping: MMtest | urn:test
                    Starting compilation
Source text of object Message Mapping: MMtest | urn:test has syntax errors:
         Source code has syntax error
The message mapping objects are simple one, and does not contain any UDFs.
Infact these message mapping object was successfully activated before.
when this occured for the first time yesterday, I restarted the PI server. then it worked.
But today, this problem is occuring again. I again restarted, it got activated.
I worked for sometime, and tried editing and activating, but again i see the same error message.
I am sure, it will work if i restart PI, but i cannot afford to restart these many times.
Has anyone faced this error message.
    any inputs/help appreciated.
    thanks
    Ganesh

we have not changed the jdk version,
it seems that.. while compiling the message mapping into java classes, some conflicts are going on.
now to relplicate the problem, i need not try activating the message mapping object.
I can see the same error message when a do "Check" (F7) of the message mapping object.
Immediately after restarting the PI server, the MessageMapping compliation process seems to pick up the right classes/jars, so is successful.
but as the time goes on after we PI started and as we use PI, some of the mapping classes/jars values might be getting changed .. to disallow further compilation of message mapping
hmm.. thats the thought.. may need to investigate in 7.1

    ===========
Any help in resolving these issues is greatly appreciated.
    Thanx,
    Homiar.

    Hallo Homiar,
    to the first problem:
Do you get the same error, if you test the mapping in the Integration Builder:Design? I mean, you can download the XML instance which is entered into the Message
Mapping  zMsgMap in the Integration Engine Monitor (R/3 Transaction SXMB_MONI) and use this XML in the test environment of the Message Mapping in the Integration Builder:Design.
    to the second problem:
It looks like that the  Message Mapping xMsg_mapping could not be found by the Integration Engine. You can try to reactivate the Message Mapping in the Integration Builder. This is done for example by changing the description of the corresponding Message Mapping object and saving and activating the object.
    Regards Franz

  • Interface Mapping Object - No class definition found

    Hi
I have created a simple Interface Mapping in the Integration Repo. When i try to TEST the interface mapping i get class not found errors.See the stacktrace below.
LinkageError at JavaMapping.load(): Could not load class: com/sap/xi/tf/_PO_MAPPING_
      - java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Illegal name: com/sap/xi/tf/_PO_MAPPING_
Looks like some standard sap packages are missing from the CLASSPATH. Anyidea where it has to be specified ?
PO_MAPPING is the message mapping object i have created and the test is successful for this object. However when i reference it in Interface Mapping , i get the above errors.
I suppose XI generates Java Code when i create these objects and the mappings.Any idea where the JVM seems to reference these packages and How to rectify it ?
    Thanks
    Saravana

    Hi,
Please check whether you have applied note 755302.

  • NullPointerException encountered when creating Message Mapping

    Hi experts,
I created 3 messages using a wsdl external definition
    - GetPatientDemographicOutput
    - GetPatientDemographicInput
    - SOAPFaultMessage
With this, I wanted to to create a message mapping object, to map GetPatientDemographicInput to a pre-defined message format.
However, when I try to select "GetPatientDemographicInput" as "Source Message" in the "Message Mapping" window, I encounter a NullPointerException.
The wsdl file I used is:

    Please help.
    I am running PI7.0.
    Thanks.

I've managed to get around this problem.
The problem is with the namespace definition.
Apparently, a more correct definition looks like this:

  • Mapping with changed message structure

    Hello,
I have dowloaded a SAP IDOC into XI and build a mapping based on this IDOC.
Now the IDOC is enhanced with a new (Z)segment and I have dowloaded the new structure again.
But the new segment is not visible in the mapping based on that IDOC.
Do I have to create a new mapping???
Or how can I refresh the mapping, so that the new segment can be used there?
    best regards
    Werner Magerl

    Hi Werner,
    Check the following:
1.Name of the Imported OLD IDoc structure and the new one.
find out whether they are same.
2.In your existing message mapping, make sure you have used the newly imported Idoc structure.
In the edit mode of your message mapping, click on the button with a "hand and question mark".Navigate to the software component> software component version> Imported objects>Idocs>"select your new IDoc structure".
If the are any new mapping to be done for the Z segment, do it.
    3.save and activate changes.

  • Dynamically change Receiver Business system in message mapping

    Dear all,
I would like to change the receiver business system in the message mapping that is used in the interface determination. I do understand there is an enhanced receiver determination where I can use a mapping but that is not what I am looking for.
I think this should be possible if we can change the appropriate value in the SOAP(message) header.
Possible candidates I can think of by looking at the SOAP header in SXMB_MONI are
    1. SOAP:Header- SAP:Main- SAP:Receiver- SAP:Service
    2. SOAP:Header- SAP:OutboundBinding - SAP:OutboundBindingEntry - SAP:ToServiceName
Q1. Which one of the above is relevant while identifying the receiver agreement ?
Q2. What is the best way to access them from the mapping(preferably from a UDF) ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers
    danus
PS: I have tried to set "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System","ReceiverService" in Dynamic config & ReceiverService, BusinessSystemReceiver and ReceiverSystem in the Container’s Transformation Parameters, but didn't get the expected result.

    Chidambaram,
You use an enhanced receiver determination to have a mapping program determine the receivers of the message dynamically at runtime. Instead of creating the receivers in the receiver determination manually, you assign a mapping to the receiver determination and this returns a list of receivers at runtime.
A typical usage case is if you do not yet know the names of the receivers at configuration time. In this case, you can define a mapping program, for example, which reads a list of receivers from a table or from the payload of the message at runtime.
    Go through the following link:
    [Receiver Determination enhancement|http://www.****************/Tutorials/XI/RecvDetermination/Enhancement.htm]
    Hope your problem gets resolved.
