Change or replace KM HTML Editor

Hi again,
I would like to customize the KM HTML Editor or replace it with another Editor.
Has anyone done that before?
If so, I'd like to know how to achieve that!
I know this might be very complicated, but I appreciate every little hint!
Best regards, Marko

I figured it out myself, under System Administration - System Configuration - Knowledge Management - Content Management
Utilities - Editing - HTML Editing
There are these options:
Always Use Secure HTML Editor
Allow Only Basic Formatting
Allow Links
Activate Clipboard Buttons
Allow Preview
Allow Indenting
Allow Tables
Allow Bullets and Numbering
Allow Images
Allow Text Size and Font Settings
Allow Color Settings
On Dev we had all options ticked so for us that meant 'Allow Only Basic Formatting' was giving limited icons on the HTML Editor toolbar. It is worth noting that if 'Always Use Secure HTML Editor' is not ticked then the other options dont do anything, it is all based around this first option.

  • Replace standard HTML editor..Please guide

    Hello All,
    Is it possible to replace HTML editor with another editor like JCE editor?
    If yes, please share your experience
    If not with JCE, please let me know as to which other editors can the HTML editor be replaced with?
    If the HTML editor cannot be replaced, is there a way to provide another option for KM users...something like the 'Open With...'option we have while working on windows.
    Awaiting Reply.

    Hello Sascha,
    Thanks for your reply.
    The initial requirement of client is to replace HTML editor with JCE editor.
    Will you able to tell me about the development effort for such integration.
    Secondly, am not sure this happens but just to be sure:
    Ive heard that some client users have edited the file offline but the moment they upload the doc/file in Portal/KM, some of the tags miss out.
    Including this, there are many other bugs in HTML editor and this is the reason why client wants to replace it.
    Thirdly, I had also suggested to go with Web Page Composer but then again, its buggy.
    We are on EP7 SP9
    Any thoughts on this?

  • Who can help me with replacing the standard HTML editor in WPC?

    Hi all,
    We have chosen to replace the standard HTML Editor in the Web Page Composer by the TinyMCE Editor. I have worked my way through the document written by Boris Magocsi (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f04b5c5d-3fd2-2a10-8ab0-8fa90e3ac162) and the TinyMCE Editor is diplayed when we add or edit a paragraph.
    However, we can not type any text in the input field anymore and we can not click any of the buttons in the TinyMCE editor. Can anybody help a total Javascript newby with fixing this? Full points will be awarded obviuosly. Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Jan
    Note: We are on NW 7.0 SP 15 and the WPC component is not patched yet. We are trying to complete that today and patch it to patch level 1.

  • WYSIWYG HTML editor extension or replacement

    Hi everybody,
    We have a client that needs additional functionality in the WYSIWYG HTML editor in Oracle9iAS Release 2. Specifically the client needs to add pictures to an article/text in a simple browse and insert kinda way. It would be desirable to be able to choose from the users harddrive and pictures in a repository.
    Is there any way to extend or replace the build-in the WYSIWYG HTML editor ??
    Any contributions are welcome ..
    Best regards
    Christian Ballisager, Denmark

    Hi
    We have developed a WYSIWYG HTML editor to extend the functionality of Oracle Portal 3.0.9. The editor has the functions you ask for but today it only works in IE browser.

  • Xml form HTML Editor control change.

    Hi,
    Is it possible to change External weblink control property of HTML Editor used in xml form builder.?
    As of now this control gives 2 options to provide external weblink (1.Open in active window ,2.open in new window).I want to add open in same window as top.
    Can anyone give some useful information ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jack.
    Note: Points will be awarded for useful answers.

    Hi jack men,
    If you are still interested in a solution to your problem...
    We just hit upon the same problem. I found out that XMLForms reference htmledit4.js in their <XMLForm-Name>Edit.xsl, so you have to adapt that one.
    I saved htmledit4.js and renamed it to htmledit5.js so that I can change the HTMLEditor settings only for my XMLForm (and not for e.g. SAPNewsForm).
    I changed the entry in my XML-Form Editor settings XSL to reference the new JavaScript file:
    [code]<xsl:value-of select="$xmlformsroot"/>/htmledit/htmledit5.js</xsl:if>[/code]
    Then I copied the method body of htmledit3.js (the standard htmleditor JavaScript file) to htmledit5.js and adapted it to just show the two tragets of <i>self</i> and <i>top</i>.
    The method to display link properties is: <b>htmlb_hed_makeWebLinkDialog</b>
    Find this method in both files. Then find in htmledit3.js the beginning of the target window selection-box:
    [code]sSizerHtml += "<SELECT id=htmlb_hed_link_launch_mode class=\"urDdlWhlSml\">";[/code]
    the following lines of code determine the selectable values.
    You will notice that htmledit4.js misses a few entries. Just copy all or the ones you need.
    For your convenience I show my code here:
    [code]  sSizerHtml += "<td>";
      sSizerHtml += "<span style=\"font-size:1em;\">";
      sSizerHtml += "<SELECT id=htmlb_hed_link_launch_mode class=\"urDdlWhlSml\">";
    //-- target=_blank
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_blank\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==1) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_BLANK"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
    //-- target=_parent --
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_parent\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==2) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_PARENT"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
    //-- target=_search--
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_search\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==3) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_SEARCH"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
    //--target=_self
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_self\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==4) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_SELF"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
    //-- target=_top
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_top\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==5) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_TOP"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION></SELECT></span>";
      sSizerHtml += "</td>";
      sSizerHtml += "</tr>";[/code]
    I didn't check yet if a new generation of the XMLForms Project in the XMLFormsBuilder overwrites the changes in the XMLFormsEdit.xsl, however I guess so. A better way would be to adjust the JavaScript reference in some other configuration file that I haven't found yet, until then just adapt the XSL everytime...
    If Carsten Buechert contacted you regarding the exchange of the whole control, I would be interested myself as well.
    Cheers
    Kilian

  • Changing the font size does not work with Textarea with HTML Editor

    If you change the font size in the text area of a "Textarea with HTML Editor" item it does not work. I've searched the forum and the only solution I've seen is to use an HTML editor foriegn to APEX. Does anyone have a better solution? Thanks, Elizabeth

    I'm having a similar issue except with HTML Editor Standard.
    What I'm doing is allow someone to write to an HTML Editor Standard field and then an HTML marked up text is saved to a db CLOB column. In another page, I reference this DB column and show it in an HTML Region (I do a computation Before Regions for a hidden item that writes out the html with "htp.p")
    Everything shows up fine EXCEPT the font tags and headings. I'm finding that the HTML Region sets the font size only with the < d i v s t y l e="font-size: large" >and NOT < f o n t size:6 >. When the HTML Editor renders the user's text input, any size changes are made with the < f o n t > tag, which is depreciated anyways, and not with "style". That's why the size is not showing up.
    I can't really figure out why the headings aren't showing up except maybe the css style in the region is overridding it...
    Is there another APEX item type like HTML Editor (which uses FCKEditor) that I can use, or maybe another approach to remedy this issue? Or maybe this post calls for an enhancement with the HTML Editor?{size}{size}

    Hello Everyone,
    is it possible to set/change new colors for text in oline editing in HTML Editor in KM-Content? if the answer will be "yes"..so how to do it?

    Hi Shiva,
    The first SAP note applies to other browsers and works well for IE6. The problem we face is with IE6. We are already on SPS 21 so according to the note the issue should not appear.
    Are there any other solutions for this ?

  • Can't change the HTML editor in Robo7

    When I click on Tools, Options, I get this message: Internal Error: Can't get right editor's information. Subsequently, there are no HTML editors listed and the option to ADD is grayed out.
    Tried several times to reinstall along with Ver .2, to no avail.
    Any ideas....thanks!

    I wonder if you are going about the uninstall correctly.
    When you see 7.0.3 you might think you are uninstalling the full product. You are only uninstalling that patch. Click Refresh or press F5 and you will see 7.0.2 waiting to be uninstalled, after that Refresh shows 7.0.1 and finally the original install.
    If you did not do it that way, try again and hopfully on reinstalling, all will be OK. If you have fixed it some other way, it would help if you posted that here.

  • Recomend a HTML Editor

    Is there a recomendation for using a particular HTML editor? This editor should
    have an option for setting a default path for loading the files used in an application. I am
    refering here to page templates used in ApEx. Pasting the code is fine. However, a preview
    doesn't give you a good idea of the changes you make without the .gif's comming
    from the source (#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#, /i/ directory). Hope my question is clear
    enough.
    Denes Kubicek

    Hello,
    I use NVU http://www.nvu.com/index.php and HTML Kit http://www.chami.com/html-kit/.
    On Linux I'll use NVU, Bluefish http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/download.html and of course vim thats right I said it vim not vi.
    I usually just use a browser for the preview in all cases, though NVU is fairly wysiyg.
    As for image paths some of these editors allow you to map images to live servers but I usually just have the images local and then run a search and replace to replace src="/i/ with src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#

  • Help? tinyMCE html editor...

    We have tried incorporating the tinyMCE html editor into the Web Page Composer by following the instructions in this document: [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/f04b5c5d-3fd2-2a10-8ab0-8fa90e3ac162|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/f04b5c5d-3fd2-2a10-8ab0-8fa90e3ac162]
    (We put it into the article xml.)
    But when you launch the article editor, it opens but there is an an error in the html editor element that says it is an unknown type.
    Has anyone else successfully implemented this?

    Hi,
    has anybody solved this problem with TinyMCE? I tried to implement this with Portal 7.0 SPS 14 and IE 7.0:
    I want to replace the standdard html editor in the Web Page Composer with the tinyMCE. When I launch the editor, for example by creating a new paragraph, I see the TinyMCE UI in the popup window but I can't access the functionality. A Javascript Error is also appearing : Access denied... So I tried to locate the error. I copied the source text of the popup window and created a new html file in km-content with the source code. When I am deleting the function call
    EPCM.relaxDocumentDomain
    everything works fine. So I tried to implement the following code into the function
    relaxDocumentDomain
    EPCM.relaxDocumentDomain = function(){
    try {
      if(noDomainRelaxation == 'true') {
          //Don't Relax the domain
    } catch(err)
      var newDomain = this.getRelaxedDomain();
        if( newDomain != document.domain ){
          document.domain = newDomain;
        this.calculateDynamicTop();
    and changed the following code in the tiny_mce.js from
    document . write ( ' < script id=__ie_onload defer src=\ ' java script : " " \ ' ; > < \ / script > ' );
    to
    document . write( '< script id=__ie_onload defer src= \ 'java script :" " \ ' ;> no Domain Relaxation = true < \ / script>');
    But that does not work, because the the variable noDomainRelaxation is declared after the check in the relaxDocumentDomain function. Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem? Is it perhaps possible to set the right document domain in the tinymce itself? Thanks.

  • New HTML editor?

    Just wanted to find out how others are using/not using the
    new HTML editor in RH7.
    Our HTML files are valid, coded HTML, and what the RH editor
    does to them is, well, a bit scary. Changing tags, removing
    information, removing comments and formatting/line breaks that take
    the once well-coded HTML and make a jumble out of them.
    So far, we've just been using an external editor to edit the
    files, and just used RH to generate the files. RH has had issues
    with some XML code in our files for awhile so the editor has always
    been problematic (stripping out the XML code) but rather than an
    improvement, it seems like the new version is just worse.
    Am I missing something?

    about the topic and my point was rhetorical anyway.
    Anyhoo, since you ask: Say I need to add a class to a
    paragraph tag (say, change <p> to <p class=caption>).
    When I press the spacebar after the p to start typing, a
    pop-up appears giving me a list of various HTML tags.
    Example:
    quote:
    <h5> ... </h5>
    <h6> ... </h6>
    <head> ... </head>
    <html> ... </html>
    ...and so on. Why? What does the list mean? Things I
    could add? What are they supposed to help me do? Isn't not
    as a shortcut to typing because if I double-click one of the listed
    items it merely inserts the code and doesn't replace the code
    that's already there so I'd end up with
    <p<h5></h5>> and end up having to spend time
    correcting that mess.
    The pop-up very nearly obscures what I'm typing and so I have
    to click elsewhere to get the pop-up to go away. And it happens
    every time.
    It's a poke in the eye. I thought the HTML editor would be
    more convenient, but now? I prefer using Notepad by an order of
    magnitude. (And it's moot anyway since the HTML editor is broken--a
    problem
    I
    described awhile back resurfaced and we're out of ideas on how
    to fix it.)

  • How to change background color in html iView

    Hi everyone,
    Is there a way to change the background color of a HTML iView automatically (without using the html editor) ?
    Actually the background is white, and I would like it to be blue (or better : in the same color of the theme's background). And I don't want to use the XML Form builder, because you can't add images...
    Thanks in advance,

  • Creating a small HTML-Editor using JEditorPane

    Hello! I'm trying to create a small HTML-Editor. Via this editor users shall be capable to create formatted text (bold, italic, underlined, different sizes, different fonts, different colors). Furthermore, if the user pushes the enter-button a new line-break (<br>) shall be inserted. Basically my editor is working but with some big problems:
    1. When I create an instance of my editor, I initialize it with some html-code.
    this.m_EditorPane.setText("<html><head></head><body></body></html>"); Without this initialization between the <body> and </body> <p> and </p> will be inserted, what I don't want. But if I push now the enter-button at the beginning, <br>-tag will not be inserted in the <body>-area but in the <head>-area.
    2. Styling text is working really good, but when I insert a line-break (via enter-button), the <br>-tag is inserted after the (e.g.) closing bold-tag (</b>). So, in the next line, this style-property must be reselected.
    Can anybody help me to change this behavior?
    Kind regards, Stefan
    P.S. The way I insert the <br>-tag:
    JEditorPane editor = getEditor(ae);
    HTMLDocument doc = getHTMLDocument(editor);
    HTMLEditorKit kit = getHTMLEditorKit(editor);
    editor.replaceSelection("");
    int offset = editor.getCaretPosition();
    kit.insertHTML(doc, offset, "<br>", 0, 0, HTML.Tag.BR);
    editor.getCaret().setDot(editor.getCaretPosition());P.P.S. Sorry for my bad english :-/

  • Run script in HTML editor in WebView WP8.1

    I am developing an app in which I need to give HTML editing facility to the user. So I tried different HTML editors but finally TinyMCE was able to show controls for editing. But I am not able to set the contents of Editor. It gives Exception Exception
    from HRESULT: 0x80020101. And I tried all different solutions but could not figure it out. Here is link to my project
        string tinyMice = "<script type='text/javascript'> function myfun() {tinymce.execCommand('mceInsertContent', false, getQueryStrings());}myfun()</script>";
                        await System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Delay(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(1));
                        await webview_demo.InvokeScriptAsync("eval", new string[] { tinyMice });
    Can somebody help?

    hey,
    I am not sure what you exactly want to do but I took a look at the project you uploaded.
    First of all, you better use the NavigationCompleted or
    FrameNavigationCompleted event for executing onload functions.
    I have no idea about the tinymce js plugin but here is what I did to create a similar scenario.
    1) First, create a js function in the removeformat.html to return a string (replacing your getQueryStrings functions)
    function returnMessageValue() {
    return "Hello JS World";
    2) then create a script notify event handler and wire it up to the page so we can get alerts from the html page loaded.
    In NavigationCompleted event:
    string result = await this.webview_demo.InvokeScriptAsync("eval", new string[] { "window.alert = function (AlertMessage) {window.external.notify(AlertMessage)}" });
    this will notify the webview about window.alert's. So we subscribe to the Script notify event:
    webview_demo.ScriptNotify += (sender, args) =>
    MessageDialog m = new MessageDialog(args.Value);
    m.ShowAsync();
    and finally the code execution for our function:
    await webview_demo.InvokeScriptAsync("eval", new[] { "window.alert(returnMessageValue())" });
    // await webview_demo.InvokeScriptAsync("eval",
    // new[] { "tinymce.execCommand(\"mceInsertContent\", false, getQueryStrings())" });
    result:
    hope it helps

    I am stuck any help would appreciated.

    for the result of function module you can check the documentation (from SE37 transaction code)
    Status of User Password (Value: -2/-1/0/1/2/3, see docu.)
    Definition
    Status of the user password (relating to whether it can or must be changed)
    Value Meaning
    -2 Password cannot (generally) be changed
    -1 Password cannot be changed today (only allowed once a day)
    0 Password can be changed, but does not have to be changed
    1 Password is initial and must be changed
    2 Password has expired and must be changed
    3 Password must be changed because it no longer meets the new rules
