Change parsing schema
Hello.
Is it possible to change parsing schema of apex application on the fly? In Oracle Forms applications we could do that...

Hi Almir,
I assume by your comment about generic Oracle Forms, that the different schemas have identical structure but differing data. If this is the case I would see three options.
1. As already mentioned in this thread, make grants to the parsing schema which is probably an empty schema used only to tie the other schemas together and then prefix all table/view references with a schema name, the only thing that I would add is that the schema name should be referenced through and application variable, rather than hard coded, which is set on login and can be changed as required.
2. You could have a separate copy of the application to go with each parsing schema and then have a controlling entry application which directs the user to the correct application.
3. You could roll all the separate schemas into one schema. With the particular tables that have differing data (reference tables proabably same data) you can have an extra column that defines the ownership of the data and then use the Virtual Private Database feature to separate the users views of the data.
All these options have advantages and disadvantages, but I would prefer option 3 as its the most flexible option and probably the most correct, provided it is possible to re-engineer the underlying schemas to such a degree.

How to change parsing schema for using application in test environment?

I set up a test environment, i.e. an other Oracle schema with identical tables, views etc. to the productive environment. I wanted to duplicate the APEX application so that there will be a test version using the test Oracle schema and productive version using the productive oracle schema.
Can some one please give me some tip how to do this? As far as I see i could change the parsing schema in the APEX Application install SQL in the following ways:
1. While exportin the application with APEX
2. In the result install f...sql file using search-replace
3. While importing the APEX application via APEX Development GUI.
I would prefere 1. or 3. but in both cases when I would like to change the schema name, the drop dowl list does not contain the test Oracle schema name. Do I have to grant something to the APEX worksspace schema for the test schema name to show up in the drop dowl list?

I understand now, my apologies.
You may try and enter a query like:
select * from &SCHEMA..EMP
which probably imports fine and even works correctly at runtime. But when you try to edit this, you probably get an error like "Query cannot be parsed, please check the syntax of your query. (ORA-00903: invalid table name)"
This works at runtime because there is an application substitution string called SCHEMA. But at design time, there is no substitution string or session state value called SCHEMA in application 4000 (the application builder). I don't regard this as a bug, though, because substitution of session state and strings is working as expected. You're trying to reference at design time something which typically would only be used in the context of runtime.
In answer to your question and Branimir's question, nothing comes to mind how someone could programatically alter the parsing schema of an application at runtime. One idea, although this only helps you with reports and not much else, is to create your reports based upon a function returning SQL query. Then, you could write your own package and qualify the table owner with whatever you wish.

How do i change xml schema in java
i want to change a oracle.xml.parser.schema.xmlschema object in java (adding or changing elements, types, etc). is there some hidden way i didn't think of besides changing the xmldocument object behind the schema and rebuilding the schema? i find that rather uncomfortable.

Hi,
I am developing a web tool that accesses client's Bingads accounts via OAUTH2 granting. I am downloading data from clients daily.
Generally it worked, but for 2 days I am experiencing a weird issue, that in random times (but more and more often though) I receive random error messages from Bing server. I am pasting below a few example from my logs (with timestamp and request/response).
Must note that I launch these requests from the server where we have the webapp but also I launch it locally. The same is the result.
The timestamp is in France time (GMT+1).

1. I am using the older version of the PHP library provided by Bing (updated on 1/20/2014), so that is doing the WSDL loadings. I initialize the proxy calling OpticoBingAdsClientProxy providing what it needs, and then do the requests.
2. I have a cron that reads data from client's accounts. I make several calls, like get search query report, get keyword performance report, get keyword bulk data. As the script progressed the first 2 worked and the third gave error. Or in other cases the
first request failed. The calls have quite some time in between them since I process data (sometimes even 160 seconds)
3. I did not change the code ion terms of requests, since as I said I use the PHP library (same credentials, ...).
As of today (2015-01-16 10:30 GMT + 2) running my script, still have the same issues.

Yes this is possible, you will need to assign schema sch2 to the workspace. You can do this in the APEX Admin app under Manage Workspaces 'Manager Workspace to Schema Assignments'. Then back in the Apex builder edit the Application definition and change the Parsing Schema to sch2.

HOW TO have LOV display values from a table not contained in parsing schema
I am using DAD to log in and have been able to get around the problems associated with the login schema being different than the parsing schema. However, I want to have a list of values to be shown to the user based on a table in the DAD schema that they log into rather than the parsing schema.

How to download a file from a table not in the parsing schema
We have a table in another schema which holds files in a blob column. I can create a form on this table and the file upload works fine. The file browse page item has the source as the blob column and storage type "BLOB column specified in Item Source attribute". The download link generated for the page shows a call to apex_util.get_blob_file and the parameters are correct. However, when you click on the link you get a Page Not Found 404 error. Same error in Apex 4.1.1. The plsql error is:

I am not sure that the post explains everything as the "Automatic Row Processing" and "Automatic Row Fetch" process work fine on this page and therefore security should not be an issue.
Thanks for the view suggestion, but I am not sure that a view is a good option for us because the parsing schema does not have create view privilege and therefore the view would be difficult to install and maintain. We will problably end up with a custom download file process.

Can multiple APEX application use the same parsing schema?
Hi,
I have 4.2 APEX thru pl/sql Gatewat, 11gr2 DB and using theme 24.
Due to the APEX limitation for version control I would be splitting 1 big ERP applications into 24 different APEX applications and each application would be considered as 1 unit for version control.
I have about 800 tables and I would assume that all of these would need to be stored in 1 schema since a lot of these table are linked thru FK.
Can I have multiple APEX APPS using the same parsing schema? or is there a better way to do this?

Multiple applications can have same (one) parsing schema.
You can test that on e.g. apex.oracle.com, where normally you have only one schema and you create multiple applications and all use that same schema.

Would like to change Websheet schema
I've been doing APEX Database applications for some time, but I am quite new to Websheet applications. My APEX version is 4.2.3.
It's important to me which schema a websheet application winds up with because it seems that websheet reports can only access objects (such as tables) that are under the schema of that websheet. Also when you create a new websheet you don't seem to have any control over the schema it uses. We have 2 schemas associated with our workspace schema1 and schema2. All of the APEX$_WS tables are under schema2 and the files we want to report on are under schema1. The APEX$_WS files were no doubt put in schema2 by me when I created my first websheet application, but at the time I didn't know about websheet reports.
I noticed that under administration> manage service > websheet database objects, there is an option to Remove Websheet Database Objects. I really hope I don't have to resort to this.
I have another question about websheets. In the application builder page which lists the applications in my workspace, I added a column, "Parsing Schema". I was hoping that this would give me some insight into the above question. For "Sample Websheet Application - AnyCo IT Department", the parsing schema is schema2. For a new websheet I just created, the parsing schema is schema2. But for my main websheet that I am most concerned about the parsing schema is jwomble, my username. How did this happen?
JackieUpdate. I solved part of the problem by granting some privileges to schema2 so that it can access the tables in schema1. That solves the immediate problem but in the long run I will probably still need to move the websheets over to schema1. I'm thinking about exporting the websheets, removing and recreating the tables, and then importing.

i have created web service link which deals with calling a Pl/sql procedure with the help of DBAdapter in jdev 10.1.3.4 .here i am trying to insert a row in tables.my webservice is working fine from BPEL console
my collegue who is working on PHP is trying to access the the wsdl link with the help of Appcelator and php

How to change the Schema (DB2, Oracle) in CommandTable at run time

I have a problem as below:
I have created report with CommandTable, then I am using Java and CRJ 12 to export data. So how to change the SCHEMA in CommandTable?
Please help me on this.
Ex: CommandTable is SELECT * from SCHEMA.TableA, SCHEMA.TableB

I want to change DataSource, it means the report will be load and change connection at run time (using CRJ SDK) and i want to change the SCHEMA.Tablename in CommandTable in report.
I also use the parameter to do it, but it can not be at run time, just correct when designing.
Could you please help me on this. You can post the code if any.
