Change password in Oracle ADF
hi;
I am using Oracle Jdeveloper ADF 11g 2 release. If I Created a user Id and Password in Application -> Secure -> Users in jazn-data.xml .
Then How should I reset(Change) my passward ? Only Login User should know his password.
thanks.

Its not clear what you mean by that.
login.html will pass login data to Weblogic server and Weblogic Authenticator will check this data.
You can have multiple authenticators in the same Weblogic domain(for example, you can retrieve(at the same time) users from DB(using SQLAuthenticator), LDAP, merge users which you already have in jazn-data, ...).
So, depending on configuration and order of authenticators, WLS will compare login data with users from all authenticators or will stop check after first match.

Changing passwords of oracle users
Dear all
I wander is there any problem if changing password of oracle users SAPOWNER, system,sys . (I guess command for that is brconnect -u system/<password> -f chpass -o <sapowner> -p <password>
). What about sys and system. (I hope that after changing passwords the system will be functional)
Which user is used when "sqlplus / as sysdba"
thank you in advanceHello Jan,
I wander is there any problem if changing password of oracle users SAPOWNER, system,sys
Well we already discussed the SAPOWNER here: http://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=10814500#10814500
If you change the password of SYSTEM or SYS there will be no problem at all. These users/password combination is not used in a SAP environment unless you explicitly specify the SYSTEM user and password in some BR*Tools calls like brconnect. If you just use the "/" default approach, the OS authentication mechanism (OSDBA) is used - so no issue there at all.
@Orkun:
This is not a user, but a role. So when you connect to the database by using "/as sysdba" you will be able to connect to the system by sysdba role not by a user.
If you use this apporach you are connected with the user SYS - so you are using a user for sure (and btw. you can only logon with SYS by using SYSDBA role). The only difference between "sqlplus / as sysdba" and "sqlplus SYS as sysdba" is, that you are using the specified OSDBA group with the first approach (so no password is required).
shell> pwd
/oracle/<SID>/11202/rdbms/lib
shell> grep dba config.s
# SS_DBA_GRP defines the UNIX group ID for sqldba adminstrative access.
.rename H.16.ss_dba_grp{TC},"ss_dba_grp"
.globl ss_dba_grp{RW}
T.16.ss_dba_grp:
.tc H.16.ss_dba_grp{TC},ss_dba_grp{RW}
.csect ss_dba_grp{RW}, 3
# End csect ss_dba_grp{RW}
.string "dba"
shell> sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL> SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER') FROM DUAL;
SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','SESSION_USER')
SYS
shell> sqlplus SYS as SYSDBA
Enter password:
SQL> SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER') FROM DUAL;
SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','SESSION_USER')
SYS

How do i change password in Oracle Discoverer Administrator??
My Password has expired, how do i change password in Oracle Discoverer Administrator??
Thanks in advance ??
Regards
Raja HyderaliThanks Michael.
Metalink (Note:290279.1) suggest the option of changing password, after you logon. I could not find any way of changing the password when it is expired.
Thanks all for your suggestions.

Change Password in Oracle SQL Developer
We have a trigger/stored procedure that is run whenever a password is changed to verify it follows the company's password policy. This requires a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
alter user SOMEUSER identified by "TIE4CAT8#";
It fails in SQL Developer, but it works in sqlplus.
How do I change my Oracle password that is complex in SQL Developer?As the guys have indicated, this does work in sqldev, but we do not enforce anything on the user wrt password policies. These are handled in the database.
Are you saying, your code does not run thru sqldev? ie you're doing something like this
BEGIN
change_password('old password', 'new password', 'new password');
END; -
Programm change in Oracle ADF database connection
Hello!
Our company uses an application implemented in Oracle Forms. We have about 2500 users. Each user works with a database using Oracle c your login / password.
We want to migrate to Oracle ADF. But the concept of Oracle ADF - under a single user connection.
But the position of the database administrators - do not use OracleInternetDirectory (LDAP), does not create users in WebLogic. :(
In our company, users are created in the database Oracle. Users are database role.
Our idea is to send in an application ADF user name and password. Safety is solved at the database level.
Can I do this:
1. When the application starts to change the ADF database connection to a user username / password?
2. Can there be problems in the future?
3. Are there any examples?
Please help
Vasily (sorry for bad english)/
Edited by: user10711272 on 16-Jan-2012 08:43Hi,
You can create a custom authentication provider in WLS that uses a JAAS Login Module that attempts to connect to the database for authentication pupose. The application itself would run with a JDBC Data Source, so that you only use the database account to authenticate the user and get his/her database roles as authorization groups. I have a sample for this on my to-do list but so far hadn't the time to get to it. So yes, you don't need OID or LDAp to manage users but could keep going using the database

User change password after first logging in Oracle 11g

All the best
Ragip AvdijajSounds like they are not getting logged in at all, so they are never getting to the point where they can change the password, but we need to see more detail to give a better answer (an example or copy-paste of a sqlplus session might help)

Error when changing password of NW J2ee's secure store and Oracle sqlplus
Hi all,
I am wondering on the following:
Current setting:
I have "old_password" for J2ee configtool's secure store.
I have "old_password" for Oracle's sapsr2 user inside Sqlplus.
When I change the password for all 3 place from "old_password" to "new_password", I am not able to connect to configtool. I am also not able to start the Portal service; with logfile error "invalid user/password"
If I change the password back to "old_password", I can connect to configtool as well as start the service.
Snote and forumers (google) mention that update configtool's secure store and "alter user sapsr3" for Oracle database is all I need to change password.
Have I miss out some step in order to change the password for my Enterprise Portal?
Thank you.
Regardsedit: never mind, found the meaning of SDM.
but the command below, is it usable?
For Windows OS:
Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder <Drive>:\usr\sap\DP1\JC21\SDM\program
Execute the below commands:
sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"
sdm changepassword "newpassword=<Enterthenewpassword>"
sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"

Unable to change password from application when Oracle password has expired
I need to know how to change the users
(Oracle 9.0.8) password via Visual Basic (v6.0
SP3) and RDO. If the users password is expired,
the proper error message is returned, but because
the user isn't connected to the database, I
cannot change the password with the "ALTER xxx
IDENTIFIED BY xxx" sql. Anyone got any
suggestions??you have to unlock it with some other user with the alter user privilege (e.g. sys or system), or (if you use OID) some user with DAS privileges.

How to change the default behaviour of View Object in oracle adf
Hi,
I have created a view object from an entity object and placed it as a table with multiple lines on my page.
When I run my page, by default, it loads all the rows based on the sql in the VO.
My requirement is when I load my page, I don't want to return any data in that table.
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.
Please can you advise how can I achieve this functionality?
thanks

Hi,
When i changed my sysman and dbsnmp password, these users are frequently locking.
For sysman password change i do the following steps.
1) emctl stop dbconsole
2) change password of sysman and dbsnmp from sql
3) Post sysman password change to emoms.properties file
4) Post DBSNMP password change in targets.xml
5) emctl start dbconsole.
DBSNMO AND SYSMAN users were locked.
Stop dbconsole again
Unlock the user sysman and dbsnmp
then again restart dbconsole
Sysman user locked
Another thing do we need to have same password for dbsnmp and sysman
Regards,
irfanb146Now Sysman and DBSNMP users are unlocked after i made the password of sysman change again and they are not locking.

Oracle ADF UIX tutorial wont commit changes
I'm following the tutorial "Developing Applications with Oracle ADF UIX"
http://otn.oracle.com/obe/obe9051jdev/uixTutorial/lesson_UIX.htm
The tutorial works apart from if I create/update or delete a record its not commited to the database.
Where I'm I going wrong?
Thanks for any help.create/update should be commited to database due to method "Commit" that you drop into commit data action, and delete won't be commited, you should additionaly create "Commit" button on your page or use another way to commit.

Change password for internal/oracle??
If for some reason, I need to change password for internal, could I logon as system to change password for internal?? Thanks for any reply...
You could...but it is little tricky...
Here are the steps...make sure you do a complete export of the existing
schema...if any thing were to go wrong...
There are different method of changing the password file.
ORADIM or ORAPWD..
I tend to use ORAPWD if I am concentrating on the password only...
if there are any more alteration to be made to the SID...such as renaming A SID
san so forth..then I use ORADIM..
BUT for your need any one of this will work..
CHANGING the INTERNAL PASSWORD USING ORADIM command:
to change the password with ORADIM:
1) Delete the SID fro the password you want to change:
c:\ORADIM -DELETE -SID SID
where SID is the SID to delete
2) Verify that the PWDSID.ORA and STRTSID.CMD files have been removed from the
\ORACLE_HOME\DATABASE\
directory
3) create the same SID again and specify a new INTERNAL password
c:\ORADIM -NEW SID SID -INTPWD NEWPASSWORD -STARTMODE AUTO
-MAXUSERS N -PFILE
<drive:
\path\init{sid}.ora>
where SID is the same SID to recreate, NEW_PASSWORD is the INTERNAL password,
and N is the maximum number of DBAs/Operators who can be logged in at once with
the password..
This should take care of you issue..
However there are some other way to delete and use authentication...
If you decide to use ORAPWD:
Then there is a different approach to modifying the internal password...
CHANGING PASSWORD USING ORAPWD
F:\OraHome1\BIN>orapwd file=shahpwd password=snawaz
this will create a passowrd file shahpwd
also make sure your init.ora is set to
remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive
shutdown the database log..out of the svrmgrl..
and log back in with a new password...
svrmgrl> connect interna/snawaz
GOOD LUCK

I am using oracle ADF 11.1.2.2.0 (oracle Jdevelopr 11g release 2) in my job environment. There are 3000 users working as client level in our company. They have separated user Id and roles. They can change their passwords. There are expiration period for passwords which is handle by in database level. when the employees are going to terminate or retirement , we can control their login status. that mean we change their Active status as a Inactive status. some times we recruit number of emplooyes for cover our business targets. Their User Id also in database table level.
My main problem is how we can handle number of employees using Oracle ADF security configuration.
second one is how user can change their passwords.
Third is how number of employees going to terminate ,handle their Active/Inactive State.
Fourth one is If we use this Oracle Security system ,project managers or project cordinator or Adminstrator level authenticator must need to deploy time to time war file, because of adding removing users in jazn-data.xml.
hoping help from you.Thanking for all.So, you can define SQLAuthenticator/SQLReadOnlyAuthenticator on Weblogic which will retrieve users from your db table(instead of jazn-data file) to application server.
Then, in your application you can enable ADF Security and this will generate login page.
And, this is it :)
If you need some custom processing before users login to your app, then you can create custom login page and do whatever you want in Java code:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16162_01/web.1112/e16182/adding_security.htm#BABDEICH

But 11g has Database connection in Application Resource. Using that connection I need to log to the system using user's User iD and Password

This connection is valid only in design time. When you deploy your application to application server, then you can include this connection in .ear file, or you can define Data Source on Weblogic(which is better approach).
To programmatically retreive db connection, you can create utility method in your Application Module.

Running Oracle ADF tutorial example to weblogic server
Hi all,
I am following the tutorial at [Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF|http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm] . However, I did something new here. I deployed the finished sample to weblogic admin server, and it went fine. But when I tried to access the page DeptEmpPage.jspx, I got exception:
oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection.
and also
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied
Looks like the user hr was not logged in. I tried to give explicit plaintext password in the file connections.xml as following
<SecureRefAddr addrType="password">
<Contents>hr</Contents>
</SecureRefAddr>
, but this also did not work.
Could you please let me know how to make it working? I know for security concerns, we may need to have a log in form to do authentication. But for the quick-fix and pedagogic purpose, could anyone here please help?
Many thanks.Dou you need to change the bc4j.xcfg content to reference the JNDI connection created in the deployment. Note that the deployed EAR creates a HrDS JDBC connnection with the credentials and Security user and associations, see the JNDI url in your app, for example, for "jdbc/HrDSDS", the entry to be added to the config file must be <Custom JDBCDataSource="java:comp/env/jdbc/HrDSDS"/>
<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
<BC4JConfig version="11.1" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bc4j/configuration">
<AppModuleConfigBag ApplicationName="lt.andrejusb.model.HrModule">
<AppModuleConfig name="HrModuleLocal" ApplicationName="lt.andrejusb.model.HrModule" DeployPlatform="LOCAL" jbo.project="lt.andrejusb.model.Model">
<Database jbo.TypeMapEntries="OracleApps"/>
<Security AppModuleJndiName="lt.andrejusb.model.HrModule"/>
*<Custom JDBCDataSource="java:comp/env/jdbc/HrDSDS"/>*
</AppModuleConfig>
<AppModuleConfig name="HrModuleShared" ApplicationName="lt.andrejusb.model.HrModule" DeployPlatform="LOCAL" jbo.project="lt.andrejusb.model.Model">
<AM-Pooling jbo.ampool.maxpoolsize="1" jbo.ampool.isuseexclusive="false"/>
<Database jbo.TypeMapEntries="OracleApps"/>
<Security AppModuleJndiName="lt.andrejusb.model.HrModule"/>
<Custom JDBCDataSource="java:comp/env/jdbc/HrDSDS"/>
</AppModuleConfig>
</AppModuleConfigBag>
</BC4JConfig>
