Change portal login ID using API.

Can anybody let me know how to go about changing the login ID of portal users from the API.

We have a custom app where admins can change the UME users. All the users login with email ID. And admin will be able to change the email ID's (which inturn should change the portal login ID). Can you put some light on how I should do this. Is there a work around ?

Hi all,
I am working on converting Contingent worker into an Employee using API. (Steps : terminate CWK API -> hire_into_job API)
In that, If any future changes exists in person screen for a contingent worker then its not allowing me to terminate that person.My client requirement is to remove future changes if exists and convert as an Employee.
I am not able to find the correct API to delete the future changes in person screen. I have checked the hr_person_api.delete_person but in API description, they mentioned it is to purge the person totally from database.
Please help me on this.

But how many people would have future changes ? Are there 10s of 100s ?
may be you can -
# If you just have simple changes in the future(i.e. no person_type changes which effect Periods of service etc..), you can simply delete the future changes and move the end-date of the penultimate record to end-of-time(31-Dec-4172). Just be sure this wont effect any others child tables(assignments, per_periods_of_service, per_person_type_usages_f etc..)

Changing DN for GROUPS using API

I have such code that I change GROUP attributes in OID with:

The above piece of code works well if I exclude the line with distinguishedname or DN.
otherwise it returns this exception:
NamingException encountered in ldapModify [LDAP: error code 65 Failed to find distinguishedname in mandatory or optional attribute list]
Interestingly, if I put a bad newDN there, such as "hello", (not in the form of cn= .. , ...) it says:
NamingException encountered in ldapModify cn=tester,cn=groups,dc=pooyaco,dc=com: [LDAP: error code 34 - Invalid DN Syntax]
My question is that whether I can change DN using APIs like this or not? and how?

To change the RDN or DN you will need a modRDN/modDN operation, and not a direct LDAP modify.
For this you can use the Java JNDI API, see:

Can I use the Registry to change the Login Name used in Note Tool?

If adding notes in browser-based review, you cannot edit the Author name used in the note tool. Its uses the fixed Windows login name shown in Edit > Preferences > Identity.
If you turn off the "Always use Log-in name for Author name" setting, the Author can be changed when adding notes in Acrobat itself, but the Author is fixed to the Windows login name in browser-based review.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knows if this can be changed in the Registry? I've found the login field name here (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Annots\cAnnots\cAnnot\tauthor) but it unfortunately does not update the Author field.

You can replicate this in Acrobat 8 as follows:
- In Acrobat / Edit Preferences / Commenting, turn off "Always use Log-in Name for Author Name"
- Open a PDF in Acrobat > Add a Note > Right-click Properties > General tab > Rename the Author to "TESTING" > Click "Make Properties Default" > Click OK
- Set up a Network Folder Online Comments Repository as follows: In Acrobat / Edit Preferences / Reviewing, set Server Type to "Network Folder" and browse for a folder to save comments to.
- Open Registry and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\Annots\cAnnots\cAnnot\tauthor
- tauthor should be showing "TESTING" that we entered earlier
- Open a browser window and drag a PDF into it
- Add a Note, the Author name is fixed to be the Windows Login name.

Deleting portal users using APIs

We are deleting users from portal through a java class using
JBDC( using prepareCall and executeUpdate) . We can successfully
delete the user from the login server using the procedure
PORTAL30_SSO.WWSSO_API_USER_ADMIN.DELETE_USER(). However, when
we try to delete the user from portal30 using
PORTAL30.WWSEC_API.DELETE_PORTAL_USER()
we get the following errors

We can run the delete_portal_user procedure successfully as
portal30(the owner of the portal30 schema). But when we try to
delete a user as another dba user, we get the error shown above.
This user has full sysdba priveleges on the portal30 schema. The
workaround is to create another database connection in the Java
class for the portal30 user. However they prefer to run it
as the dba who have created the user but not as portal30.
I checked in the JPDK documentation but there is no API to delete
users.

Not able to pass portal login page with valid credentials using WebDispatch

We are implementing SAP BillerDirect Portal. To make BillerDirect Portal available over the internet, we Configured SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination. We followed the steps mentioned in SAP Help Documentaion for SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination.

We created certificate and send it to CA (TrustCenter CA). We received the CA response and we imported the certificate.
AS mentioned in the help document, we configured the SAP Web Dispatcher profile to support SSL termination
We tried to access our BillerDirect Portal over the internet using below link

We are getting login page, once we enter correct user ID and Password, portal is not loading (not going to next page) portal remains on same login page.
If we enter invalid credentials portal login page is giving u201CUser Authentication Failedu201D error.
If we try to access any portal login pages which brings a pop-up for login, login gets succeeded and we are able to see next pages

How did you change your user name?
resetpassword wouldn't have done it. If you managed to create a new user, then your data is still in the old account.

Avoid essbase login pop up when using API

I have written a vb macro to retrieve data from essbase using APIs. I have used EssVConnect. Eventhough i give the server,username and password to a variable and execute the procedure, the essbase login screen appears. I want to avoid this as this code would be used for automation. Please help me in doing so. The retrieval code which is part of the automation code is here below. Here the sheet name, application name and the database name is read from another worksheet and assigned to the variables sheetName , AppName and DBName. The Cache here is the application name and database name which are assigned is to the variables AppName and DBName is highlighted in the essbase login popup. And if i modify the variable Server1 to server the procedure stops running. it says login failed due to insufficient credentials. But i use admin user.

The application name,database name and sheet name are read by a procedure from this worksheet row by row and passed as a parameter to the procedure "RetrieveData".My primary objective is to login to the essbase application and database which are passed as parameters from the procedure which invokes the procedure "RetrieveData" without the essbase login screen coming up. How can i do it automatically?The user shouldn't keep typing the username and password. The procedure should read the login credentials from the variables and login automatically. How do i need to modify my code to achieve this?

The portal app is mandatory even if you not use it, indeed if you delete this app UAG stop to work as expected.
In order to publish your internal site without going through the portal, in select application select the following options:
Type: Web
Web: Other Web Application (application specific hostname)
With this you could bind a direct DNS name to your publication without using the portal in order to access to it.

Changing AD login's to reflect new SMTP addresses set in exchange... will it break connection to smartphones that use activesync?

My organization is in the process of migrating mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to 2010. In addition to migrating we are also changing the login's in users AD objects. These users also have smart phones that are configured via activesync. I've come across a
few users that when we change their login names. It breaks the activesync configuration on their smartphone. Is there a tool available that will help carry over the new login and won't break the activesync connection?

How to access Sap portal login user in ejb web service

I wnt to access SAP Portal login user in my ejb application which resides on the same server.
I am using following code

Popup Portal Login / Authentication

I am having problems finding good examples of how to enable a portal login authentication portlet in a popup window. The scenario, is that I will programatically change a web service to require portal role base security. When this occurs the next time this web service is accessed, it should reject that access or block and pop up the portal login window. When I sucessfully log on, then it should return the results and I can close that login window at my leisure. I do not want to keep the login portlet displayed in the main page of the portlet, it should not appear until it is needed. This is a really urgent request if anyone can help me with this. I really appreciate the help!

Anyone that is still looking at this, I have figured out how to do the popup in the pageflow. I have collected a username and password and placed it in my formbean. Now I need to get that username and password into the header of a web service using the OASIS ws-security standard spec. There is an example of placing the username and password token into the SOAP header in the weblogic examples, but it uses a java proxy class to call the web service itself. I am currently using a java control to call the web service. I would like to adapt the code in the example called WebServiceBClient.java under the /workshop/samplesApp/proxyClient/WSSE/token directory to be able to perform this action but call the web service from a control.

My code is working fine and a request is getting created. But when I try to open the request dataset(object form) for the newly created request, I am getting null exceptions.
If I did not populate the fields that are in the child form application name, responsibility name and security group which are highlighted above, then I am able to view the form with the correct IT-Resource-Instance name after request creation.
So, I am thinking I am doing something wrong while populating child form data in the request dataset.
Can you please provide me some code snippet to populate the child using 11G API'S?

ADF Application and Oracle Portal Login Page

We have developed ADF application and deployed it in Oracle AS 10.1.2 along with the custom JAAS module, which is working fine with the application custom login page. As a next page, I want to use Oracle Portal login page for the authentication and authorization.
How can I accomplished it? Any idea?

1. I created blank ADF project
2. I copied myreport.jsp file (this one was generated by Oracle Report Builder) under ..ViewController/public_html directory
3. Created directory 'lib' under ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/lib
4. Copied reports_tld.jar file under the directory created in 3.
5. Created simple jspx page with the af:link (btw af:goLink does not exists in JDev 12c), set 'destination' to myreport.jsp
After the steps above I could not even compile the application, many problems too many to list here, Basically JDev is trying to build the project with .jsp file generated in Report Builder and is unable to.
So to be sure we are on the same page: I am trying to embed JSP report files generated by Report Builder into ADF project, then create EAR file and deploy on standalone WLS. Finally execute JSP web only report.
