Change the JSESSIONID name in sun-web.xml

Hi,
i saw the sun document, we can change the JSESSIONID to user defined name. This we can set in the sun-web.xml. I did this, but still it's using the JSESSIONID. How can we change the JSESSIONID to my own name. It will be very great if any one provide the solution.

Could you please shed some light on what exactly you're refering to with the 'sun document' and the 'sun-web.xml' ?
I'm only asking this because I've never heard of customizing the JSESSIONID to your own name in the web.xml ...
BTW, the session id having to a unique identifier in order for session tracking to work correctly, I don't think it is such a good idea to be able to customize it to your own name, since names (even indian names) are far from being unique.

I'm using Human Task WorkFlow (11g, wls 10.3.4).
I changed session-descriptor to WORKLISTAPPSESSIONID of woklistapp application and my deployed TaskFlow.
After that ajax partial pages updates fails with java.lang.NullpointerExpcetion in the log.
I think ajax based code does not use session-descriptor element (in the weblogic.xml) to determine the session id cookie name.
And i cant find where and what i have to modify?

My sun-web.xml file doesn't seem to be getting processed.

I've made another topic in this forum because my pre-compiled JSPs are not working but I think that I may have found the root of that problem, and it is this...
My sun-web.xml file does not seem to be getting processed (run?) by the web server. I have this theory because I made some changes to it that should have caused an error as the server starts up, but there was nothing. For example, I added some random text as a tag that should have been an error, and there was none.
Now, I did the same thing in my web.xml file, and sure enough, there was an error on start up. So, this coupled with the fact that my "use-precompiled" property seems not to be working makes me think that the sun-web.xml file is not being used by the sever.
Is there anything I need to do other than drop it in the /WEB-INF directory with the web.xml file?

It might be possible that the extra tags in sun-web.xml are just ignored (ie. not validated). I have seen cases where this has occurred.
A simple test you should perform is to enable some obvious setting in sun-web.xml, and see if that takes effect. Ex.

During startup time the logs should indicate that the persistence type has been set to MMAP. Like the following:

Missing sun-web.xml

Starting yesterday, when I export a war file for my project, the sun-web.xml file is missing from the exported war file. I need to manually pack the sun-web.xml file into the war file before deploy it to the App server. Any idea why this is happening and how to avoid it?

The reason behind missing sun-web.xml when you "Export War" is to create a war file that should be portable across different containers.
If it includes container specific DD (sun-web.xml for ex. AS8 PE) when you "Export War" then it causes problems when you deploy this war file to a different container (for ex S1WS 6.x ) which uses the same name for its DD but with different contents.
Hope this explains why sun-web.xml was not included in war file.

How do I change the context-root of a web app with a deployment plan?

I've been trying to figure this out for several hours.
I'm deploying a .ear file which sets the context root for the single web application it deploys in its application.xml deployment descriptor:

to change the context-root in an weblogic-application.xml file."
I don't understand what this means. I'm not deploying my application as a library.
Does anyone know how to change the context-root for an application?

and as soon as i click on above link it redirects me to the following one.
http://localhost:7001/BrowserWeb/servlet/BrowserServlet
It means application server know that my full web access page is with '*servlet/BrowserServlet*' because its adding it in both the cases.
What I want is a constant URL whcih does not change?

There is something syntatically wrong with your config.xml. Try reverting back to the original, and try that. Then try modifying it again making sure to only change the packageName.

Sun-web.xml memory based sessioning issue

I recently installed Sun WebServer 7.0 Update 8 on Fedora 20. Everything seems to be working fine with my webserver except for the memory based sessioning.
My First Configuration - no sun-web.xml file defined
Expected Behavior - I would assume that memory based sessioning would be used.
Actual Behavior on my local instance - Every 1-2 minutes my session would abruptly end and a new JSESSIONID would be issued. This does not happen on other machines running the same webapp, so it does seem to be a sun webserver configuration problem.
My Second Configuration - using the following sun-web.xml file:

Firstly you should know Fedora is not a support platform. it might work but you could run into a load of issues as your go.
in any case you don't need a sun-web.xml file at all. For any deployed Web app the default session manager is memory. So remove that 1st. After that check that
the requests are really sending a JSESSIONID. This kind of issue can occur when you have a Load balancer.

In 3.x you made the changes to the defaultconfig.xml located in the path C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\classes\AppletConfig.
In 4.0 I canu2019t seem to locate the file, can you advise if the file is the same name and where the file located.

Sun-web.xml and additional classpaths

Got sun webserver 6.1 running on Solaris.
In development we need a web app to include additional classes over and above those found in the WEB-INF/classes directory.
This was achieved in web server 6.0 by adding an extra classpath into the relevant web app definition in web-apps.xml.
In 6.1 this is achieved through the sun-web.xml file using the 'extra-class-path' attribute within the 'class-loader' tag.
Only it doesn't work.
I don't think the sun-web.xml file is even being read as it doesn't pick up any (deliberate) XML errors!
Anyone got any ideas / help / an example sun-web.xml file that uses 'extra-class-path' ?

The problem is that the sun-web.xml is specific to the server you're deploying to. (It might look like the one for the bundled PE but that's just by accident:-()
Also different containers (like the Sun Web Server, the Application Server) use the same file name but different schemas/DTD's for that file:-(
So we decided to not include it.
But you have the source, everything is done via Ant;-) Look at the build.xml and nbproject/build-impl.xml in your project;-)

Changing the Host Name in Lite Database

I am using oracle 10g Database release 2 and oracle 10g Lite Database Release 3
OS is Windows 2003 Server
I changed the host name
“Old Name Oracle10g New Name OracleTENR1”
Also change the host name in Listener.ora and tnsname.ora after that i restart the machine
I checked the Database status (it is in OPEN STATE only )
And then I start the mobile server it's not working ….
How to change the host name in the oracle 10g Lite Database ?

Hey Luis,
the container object only exists in message mapping runtime.
Thus you're getting a null pointer exception there.
For java mappings, remember that you have a .setParameter() method (which is necessary from definition of StreamTransformation interface),
which sets the private variable param with the transformation parameters. In your .execute() method, just use it like this:
DynamicConfiguration conf = param.get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);

Changing the file name of photo in Finder.

I need to change the file name of my photos. I have changed the settings so that they show on iPhoto as 001, 002 etc - but I need this information to also be set in Finder. Is this possible?

No - iPhoto is a photo database and it controls the files - you can not - in fact must not (if you make any changes in the structure or content of the iPhoto library you will corrupt it and lose data) -- and there is no reason to - you have full access to your files - <a href-"http://web.me.com/larryhn/iPhoto08_(version_7.x.x)_FAQ/Accessing_iPhotoPhotos.html"> click here for a discussion of the many ways to properly and safely access your photos -- and you can always export them using the title for the file name to have them outside iPhoto with any name you desire
