Change title to multi-line type?

I am reading that it is not possible to change the Title field to a multi-line column type. I have created a Question/Answer list. I renamed the Title field to "Question", but I need the user to be allowed more than 255 characters.
Is there a way to do this? I know I can create a new column, but I need it to link to the item view/edit pages.

What version of sharepoint you are using? If you are using SP 2010 or later then use "LinkToItem="TRUE"".
This will add link to any column in list.

Default Order Line type

Hi
When I create a SO with a certain order type from where does line type default , without entering any line positive and negative.
And can we change this default order line type.
As of now by default SO is taking Default line type as +ve hence for shippable items.
I want to change default line type to -ve for returnable items.
Please advice.

Hi Pankaj,
This comes from your order/transaction type setup in OM: when creating any order header transaction type you specify a default line type. If the order category = Order, you select an order line type, if = Return, you select a return line type. If the category is 'Mixed', you specify both default order and default return line types.

How can you change the leading in a fillable forms in the multi-line setting?

I am creating multiple pdf files with check boxes, single text boxes and multi-line. On the form, I have multiple lines where the person will be able to type a description but I can't figure out how to change the leading so that when they do the fillable part, the copy will sit on the printed lines. Does anyone know how to do this, besides with the Typewriter tool, because that tool makes the rest of the document's fillable boxes unusable.

Try making a new PDF from a blank page and add a couple of text fields. Save and reopen. You'll get a purple box at the top of the page that says there are form fields to be filled. If anyone needs more help they are in trouble. Again if you must have the lines you need to do some experiments with a text box and see what the leading is in Acrobat for the size of the text you are inputting and then adjust your lines to match, not the other way around. You have no control over the leading, just the font size.

How to change line type on EAM Purchase Requisitions

When an EAM Work Order is released, we get Purchase Requisitions with the Line Type as the Purchasing Options default. This can be changed on the req but there is no option to select the req line type on the EAM Work Order page.
There's a Line Type field on the EAM Work Order page but it's different from the Requisition Line Type.
Just wondering what are our options to give users the ability to select req line type from EAM Work Order page. We know personalization is an option but we'd need to add a brand new field and even if we do, we are unsure that ReqImport will actually use this new field.
Workflow extensions could also be a solution and was hoping that someone out there would have some tips and tricks to share.

I think the only way is to:
1) read the address data from Matrix 178 and keep the data in your Add-On
2) delete the original address (activate the menu item (ID = 1293) or send Ctrl-K via Application.SendKeys)
3) "click" on "Define new"
4) and enter the data you have read in 1) into the cells of Matrix 178 again...

[iPhone] Can UIButtons have multi-line titles?

I can't seem to find a way to get my UIButtons to have multi-line titles. I've tried setting their UILineBreakMode properties, but all that does is affect what gets displayed on the button's first line and doesn't make a (much-desired) second line. Any ideas?

How do I change legends in line charts when you change line type

I have created a line chart with two lines. I only have a black and white printer. If I change the two lines to black, the legends change to match. To distinquish the two lines I change the line type making one dots and the other dashes. The lines change but the lengends don't. This makes the graph useless.
Any suggestions on how to get the lines in the legends to change to match the lines in the graph?

Preview: changing line type quickly

Hey,
I have to go through a text which cannot be processed with OCR. In order to underline parts of the text I use the 'Line"-Tool in Preview.
Some parts I want to underline with a continous line, some other parts I want to underline with a dashed line. Somewhat annoyingly, everytime I want to change to line type, I have to go back to the toolbar and make several clicks. Isn't there a way how to optimize this? Is there a keyboard combination which allows me to switch quickly between line styles or a possibilty to create an additional symbol in the (symbol/tool)bar which is defined for specific line type?

Generating unbound multi-line items of type long?

I'm trying to generate a form containing an unbound item with datatype long which I'd like to have multi-line. Is this possible using Headstart without adding an entry to the Headstart Object library?
I tried to use CGSO$LONG, but that won't make it multiline. It also means I have to add "Ofgstnd1.olb" to my list of object-libraries to use in the preferences which seems to override the headstart obj.library on many items.... Does anybody have any suggestions??

You could create a custom object library which contains only the 'long' item. Then in qms65_recommended, edit the STOOLB preference and add your custom library, using the ';' as a separator.

Multi-line tableview row?

Hello all,
Does anyone know if it's possible to have a multi-line tableview row? My situation is that there is a lot of information to show in my tableview row, and I'd like to split up the information in to to lines...but I want the two lines with the same color (I'm utilizing the alternating now), and want just one checkbox.
Here's and example ( __ used to show spacing):

yes you can do what you want outside the MVC programming model.
Firstly, your current code inserts two <input> tags in each table row that look like this.
Input 1<input name="text" id="text" title="inputfield" value="value"><BR>
Input 2<input name="text" id="text" title="inputfield" value="value"><BR>
When the form is submitted back to the server the input fields are passed as name value pairs. Therefore you need to ensure the name and/or id of each input tag is unique. It is also important that you include the rowid of the table row in the name of the tag so you know to which row it refers.
So your RENDER_CELL_START method might look more like this...

This code inserts <input> tags that look like this...

...where 'xx' is the row index.
Now we need to be able to read these name value pairs when the form is submitted. You can most easily do this in the onInputProcessing event of the page like this...
DATA: ffields TYPE TIHTTPNVP.
request->get_form_fields( CHANGING fields = ffields ).
Now the ffields itab contains the name value pairs - you just need to parse them to obtain the rowid for each value.

Permanently save line spacing in a multi-line text field

Me: Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro, Windows Vista
(I think the people who will be using the form have Reader 7 on Windows)
I work in a doctors' clinic, and we use phone message sheets to document conversations between the patients/us/nurses/doctors, and I scanned the form and made it into a fillable PDF for our secretaries to fill out more quickly. The "message" area has pre-printed lines on it, and the multi-line text field I placed there needs to match up to the lines. I used the Rich Text Formatting options to set it to "Exactly 24 Points," but I can't get it to KEEP the formatting permanently. The only way I could get it to save the formatting in that field was to put a space in it and then save it, and then give that to the 2 phone secretaries. It works perfectly the first time, but instead of just closing/re-opening the file to start a new message, one of the secretaries highlights everything in the "message" field and deletes it... which deletes the line spacing formatting. I've told her

times to leave that starting space in the field, but she "forgets" so all of her messages look messed up. So is there a way to force that line spacing

You can set the font size of the text. Then play with the underlines in the original document to match the needs of the font that is used. Print to a new PDF and then use replace pages to put the new page into the form without changing the form fields. I was able to do this with a word processing document by adding underlining in the document with 12 pt and setting the font to 12 pt in the text field. You can play with the font, the border of the field, and the underlining in the original document to get the desired result. Is this optimal, probably not. However it does the job.

How to Remove the /Div in a Multi-line Field when reporting in Excel, getting

I am uisng Excel Services to extract data from PS2013. And the Multi-line text fields include the </Div> syntax. I have looked at a lot of the links regarding how to do this. I have even borrowed code that was on someones blog.
When I try and use it I get the following message and cannot not seem to resolve it after reading varous links regarding this issue.
Any ideas? As a work around I have created an Excel Macro to remove it, however would like to solve it in the query

How to expand multi-line fields in pdf forms?

I have a FormsCentral PDF form, which allows users to fill out the form and save as a PDF. However, after receiving the completed forms, I am unable to see all the text in the multi-line field boxes without opening them and scrolling down. Since I will be sharing several of these competed forms with a review panel, I would like to:
1) Display the entire content of the multi-line field boxes rather than having the reader scroll down, then
2) Save the completed forms so that its read-only when I send it to the review panel
I am not collecting responses via FormsCentral. I am just receiving the PDF via email.
Can someone please help me?

You can use a script to change the font size to Auto, which will cause all of the text to display, assuming it can be even at a font size of 4. For example, the following code can be executed in the interactive JavaScript console (Ctrl+J):
// Set the font size to Auto for a text field named "Text1"

A script that will change this for all multline fields in the form is:
// Set the font size for all multiline fields to Auto

This script could be included in an Action if you want to do this for a collection of forms.

Displaying Multi Line Text

Hi,
I am having issues in displaying multi line text on a Text Item. Basically there is data in the database column DetailText which is stored like this with carriage returns :
If I look at the column in Toad it is formatted with all the carriage returns correctly eg.
Hello
World
When I display this in my StaticStyled Item it displays like "Hello World" in one line. I want to be able to display it as it is with the carriage return on 2 seperate lines.
I have looked in this forum and one search 2 places and one suggestion was to use RawText Item type. I have tried changing the Item Type to Raw Text and FormattedText but it doesn't make any difference. The lines are still displayed horizontally instead of vertically. Another place I saw was to use OAHTMLWebBean but doesn't show how I can do this.
This should be simple enough but I have searched the DevGuide and this forum and couldn't figure out the solution. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried to do it in different way. What i did is I have created a item of type formattted text and set its text like:--
<html>User authentication failed. <br*> Cause: Invalid password.</html> --remove *
So I am able to see the prompt like :-
User authentication failed.
Cause: Invalid password.
