Change VL70 to Smartform (from SapScript)

I need to change the form output on VL70 from SapScript to SmartForm.  I converted the SAPscript to a SmartForm but I can't figure out where the SAPscript is being called from to call the new SmartForm.  If anybody could give me some assistance I would be grateful.
Regards,
Davis

Hi,
Sap script will have a Driver program, and this both Driver program and Script will be configured in the NACE transaction, so for this smartform you need a Driver program to call the Smartform(Generate the function module and call the function module) ..

I want to print a  Purchasing Documents by smartform. So i look for system standard program "SAPFM06P"->FORM ENTRY_NEU.
In this form i found 2 function:'ME_READ_PO_FOR_PRINTING' and 'ME_PRINT_PO'. who can tell me the useful of function?(is it standard print function  to sapscript?)
    thanks

    Hi
These are the Std function modules that are used in print programs
    'ME_READ_PO_FOR_PRINTING'
will fetch the data from different PO related tables that is required for the script/smartform printing
and 'ME_PRINT_PO' the fun module will print the PO printing.
go to the respective fun modules source code and can find the more logic and documentation for them

  • Change display language of smartform from within the smartform itself

    Hi!
The smartform is invoked to display from the standard with some language, which we want to change.
We can't change calling code (because it's standard).
Is it possible to change the displaying language of a smartform from within the smartform. Say, "Initialization" section?

    Hi Concern,
We can change language at run time. With following way.
    1.    Define a variable and allocate language u want to langu fields.
    DATA  lV_CT_PARA  TYPE SSFCTRLOP.
Here LV_lang contain the language u want to assign.
      LV_CT_PARA-LANGU  = LV_LANG.
    2. Pass it to smart form.
    CALL FUNCTION FM_NAME
        EXPORTING
      ARCHIVE_INDEX              =
      ARCHIVE_INDEX_TAB          =
      ARCHIVE_PARAMETERS         =

    hi reddy,
It seems like you are using an address node, and not a free-form text node with explicit address fields, which was the way things used to be done in SAPscript. This is good. The key strength in address nodes is the standardized way they rely upon address numbers and a few other key pieces of information to format addresses properly and consistently. However, a minor negative is that we lose some of the fine-tuned control available to us with explicit address formatting from SAPscript (e.g. deliberately suppressing certain lines).
Here is a simple test to simulate how a vendor address will look on output:
Go to vendor display (transaction FK03)
    Select a vendor
Click on the address option under 'General data' and press enter
On the next screen, click the 'print preview' icon
The address which appears should resemble the one you see on your Smart Form output. From here you can click on the 'change parameters' icon to tweak the settings. One of these settings, maximum number of lines, is something which you have control over in your Smart Form's address node. Perhaps reducing this number will squeeze out the blank lines you currently see. Once you determine the proper value, update it within your form's address node. If the address appears fine in vendor display, but not on your form, double-check the address node to see if something else might be wrong with it (e.g. sending country).
    regards
    karthik
    <REMOVED BY MODERATOR>
Incidentally, the 'print preview' and 'change parameters' icons are available for other address types in SAP as well. They provide a quick diagnostic to determine if addresses are printing correctly on a form

  • What are Smartforms and SAPscripts?

    Hey Everyone,
Where do we use Smartforms and SAPscripts...how to we create these...if u have step step procedures that will be helpful...
    Thanks in Advance...
    Cheers:
    Jim

    Smartform is client indep.
    Scripts is client dependent.
    Smartform will generate function module.
    Script will not.
    Tcode for scripts is se71
    Tcode for smartforms is smartforms
go to sap library ............ their u can find the step by step procedure............
SAP Smart Forms is introduced in SAP Basis Release 4.6C as the tool for creating and maintaining forms.
SAP Smart Forms allow you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools; in 90% of all cases, this won't include any programming effort. Thus, a power user without any programming knowledge can configure forms with data from an SAP System for the relevant business processes.
Execute transaction SMARTFORMS to start SAP Smart Forms.
Key Benefits of SAP Smart Forms:
SAP Smart Forms allows you to reduce considerably the implementation costs of mySAP.com solutions since forms can be adjusted in minimum time. You design a form using the graphical Form Painter and the graphical Table Painter. The form logic is represented by a hierarchy structure (tree structure) that consists of individual nodes, such as nodes for global settings, nodes for texts, nodes for output tables, or nodes for graphics.
To make changes, use Drag & Drop, Copy & Paste, and select different attributes. These actions do not include writing of coding lines or using a Script language.
Using your form description maintained in the Form Builder, Smart Forms generates a function module that encapsulates layout, content and form logic. So you do not need a group of function modules to print a form, but only one. For Web publishing, the system provides a generated XML output of the processed form. Smart Forms provides a data stream called XML for Smart Forms (XSF) to allow the use of 3rd party printing tools. XSF passes form content from R/3 to an external product without passing any layout information about the Smart Form.
To print a form, you need a program for data retrieval and a Smart Form that contains the entire from logic. As data retrieval and form logic are separated, you must only adapt the Smart Form if changes to the form logic are necessary. The application program passes the data via a function module interface to the Smart Form. When activating the Smart Form, the system automatically generates a function module. At runtime, the system processes this function module.
You can insert static and dynamic tables. This includes line feeds in individual table cells, triggering events for table headings and subtotals, and sorting data before output.
You can check individual nodes as well as the entire form and find any existing errors in the tree structure. The data flow analysis checks whether all fields (variables) have a defined value at the moment they are displayed.
SAP Smart Forms allow you to include graphics, which you can display either as part of the form or as background graphics. You use background graphics to copy the layout of an existing (scanned) form or to lend forms a company-specific look. During printout, you can suppress the background graphic, if desired.
SAP Smart Forms also support postage optimizing.
Also read SAP Note No. 168368 - Smart Forms: New form tool in Release 4.6C
Example Forms Available in Standard SAP R/3
    SF_EXAMPLE_01
Simple example; invoice with table output of flight booking for one customer
    SF_EXAMPLE_02
Similar to SF_EXAMPLE_01 but with subtotals
    SF_EXAMPLE_03
Similar to SF_EXAMPLE_02, whereby several customers are selected in the application program; the form is called for each customer and all form outputs are included in an output request.

    hi kevin,
    change package :
by copy the script and during save u can change the package
sap script  displays data on the form with the help of text elements where the logic  is written in the print program and Forms were designed to be driven from print program.
    for finding the sap script

  • Smartform and sapscript..

in which scenario v prefer smartform over sapscripts and in which scenarios sapscript over smartforms?

    Hi,
Smartforms are better to use than scripts as they provide more facility like color, graphical user interface etc, but scripts are the oldest form of layout available in SAP. There is no advantage of using script over smartform. This entirely depends on the choice in case of new developments. However, if you have to change/customize existing script then you have to deal with scripts only.
    Difference with SMARTFORMS vs SapScript(SE71).
    a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
    b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
    c) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
    d) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
    e) In smartforms there is only one main window.
In scripts we can create 99 main windows.
    f) Smartforms are client independent. but scripts are client dependent.
    g) we can execute smartforms directly without driver program. But it is not possible in script.
    h) peform statement is possible in script but not in smartforms.
    i) loop statement is possible in smartforms.
In script for every data record controls moves from
script to driver program and to script.
In smrtforms this is not rquired.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people. What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk. When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server. Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
    i) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it. Actually, there is something you can do about it. By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.
    Check the link,

    Conversion of SAPSCRIPT to SMARTFORMS
SAP provides a conversion for SAPscript documents to SMARTforms.
This is basically a function module, called FB_MIGRATE_FORM. You can start this function module by hand (via SE37), or create a small ABAP which migrates all SAPscript forms automatically.
You can also do this one-by-one in transaction SMARTFORMS, under
    Utilities -> Migrate SAPscript form.

    Hi ramakrishna,
    1. while calling subroutines from sapscripts,
    there is a special technique,
which has got its own limitations.
    2.
    FORM abc
    TABLES
    in_tab STRUCTURE itcsy
    out_tab STRUCTURE itcsy.
    ENDFORM.
    3. The perform in se38 program should be of the
    above format only.
    4. We cannot pass internal tables.
    5. Rather we need to pass
    VARIABLE NAME
    VARIABLE VALUE
(see the structure of itcsy in se11)
    6. In this form, we have to read
    the internal table in_tab
to capture the variable name and its value.
    7. Similary, to return the values,
we have to put one record (for each variable)
    in out_tab.
    regards,
    amit m.

  • Can we migrate smartform to sapscript

    hello excuse me,
i am trying to do innovative things...
can any one tell me how to do a sapscript with table in it..
else you have to tell how to migrate a smartform into sapscript..
because i am struck with an issue..it seems in DOTMATRIX printer table is not appearing when a smartform is printed..
so my master mind tells me i have to do it via sapscripts and do hardcoding for table lines...i dotn any anything in sapscripts..i tried 3 days in smartforms to get ulines vlines ..no luck..now i am set to learn sapscripts
    ok...so help me..
    bye

    Hi,
I wouldn´t recommend to migrate to SAPscript, because this is an old technology that in future versions is going to be not supported any more by SAP; therefore, you´ll have to migrate SAPscript forms to SmartForms or AdobeForms.
There´s a migration tool from SAPscript to SmartForms but not on the opposite way. You never get that from a new version to an old version.
What do you mean by a table ?? a table like in SmartForms is not supported by SAPscript, ´cause the graphical design is very poor. It is more for text display. You can create windows and set the line borders and also you can make the background gray or dark but that´s all.

  • Can we call multiple Smartforms from single Driver Prog?

    Hi all,
Can we call multiple smartforms from single Driver Program. Here Driver program is custom Program.
I want to give Print Parameter only once and output should get printed one after the another smartform in same order of smarforms were called.
    If yes, then how?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can do this in your Smartform driver program.
Each time you call you Smartform function module you will need to change the values in structure OUTPUT_OPTIONS slightly.
On the first call set TDNEWID to X.
After this, set it to space
On the last form set TDFINAL to X.
This will put all of the output into one spool request, in the order they are called in the program.

    Nick

  • How to Call Function from SAPSCRIPT

I want to Call a function from my SAPSCRIPT to get some data and print the same in the form , Can I get an example for this

    Hi Nandan,
U cannot directly call function from SAPScript... For that u have to create one include in which u need to write the code. Using Perform... EndPerform u can call the same from SAPScript. See the below example
u need to write this code in SAPScript
    PERFORM formname IN PROGRAM includename
    USING &field1&
    USING &field2&
    CHANGING &field3&
    ENDPERFORM
Here includename is your include type program.
u need to write this code in your include type program..
FORM formname TABLES in_par STRUCTURE itcsy
                            out_par STRUCTURE itcsy.
    data : var1 like field1,
           var2 like field2,
           var3 like field3.
READ TABLE in_par WITH KEY 'field1'.
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
      var1 = in_par-value.
READ TABLE in_par WITH KEY 'field2'.
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
      var2 = in_par-value.
now u can call corresponding function using local VAR1 and VAR2. Here u can pass N no of USING parameters.
    After processing on VAR3...
READ TABLE out_par WITH KEY 'field3'.
      out_par-value = VAR3.
      MODIFY out_par INDEX sy-tabix.
    EndForm.
Here in_par and out_par are the structures which will be used to communicate with SAPScript. And this is the only way as per my view.
I m sure this code will work fine. Here i have used dummy variables that u need to change as per your requirement. If u have more queries write me back.
And yes if this works than dont forget to give the points.
    Regards,
    Sagar
