Changes to multiple Templates

I know how to apply changes to child pages of "a" Template
after updating that Template. However, when I make changes to
multiple Templates of my site, is there a way to apply those
changes to child pages of all those (updated/modified) Templates at
once (using a single command or something) without having to work
on one Template at a time?
Here is a specific situation: We have nearly 50 Templates in
our Web site. We have to update a domain name of a link in all
these Templates. That is -- from "www.OLDname.com" to
"www.NEWname.com". It's easy to do a find and replace to make the
above change in all these Templates. (Note: I am referring to only
the changes in the NON-editable region of these Templates). Once
the above change is done, how do I apply those changes to all the
child pages of these Templates in a few easy steps ;-) Is opening
each Template and doing "Modify > Templates > Update
Pages..." the only way to achieve this?

I have one more question. When I run this command
"dw menu-->Modify-->Templates-->Update Pages", I
get lots of errors like the ones below. I had to press numerous
"OK" buttons to clear them away. Since they were so many, I usually
kill the process to get rid of them.

I don't get this problem when I work on the Templates one by
one. Is there a way to suppress these errors, or at least cancel
the operation after this command has been issued ("dw
menu-->Modify-->Templates-->Update Pages").

Hi,
with multiple Templates you have the chance to use the same data for different requirements. Assume you want to have a nice layout for your customer add a rtf-template which returns a pdf. A second layout may be required for another country (for example in an right-to-left language). Than add a excel-template to get the same data as a excel-sheet to "play" with the data. Or you want to display the same data in a website, then you like to have html as output. This can be reached with the first rtf-template, but with another template you can fullfill special requirements for the different output types (as html for example has no page numbering compared to pdf). Perhaps next time you need the data as CSV ....
And if there's than a change in your data set you had to maintain this only once.

Where to change notification email template?

Do you know where to change the default template for the system-generated notification e-mails sent to users when they have a new instance in their worklist?

Putting it in the right place is the key.
I was on the wrong track following conf/* even though I found that file there to modify as noted by ruben and Oracle's response to my trouble ticket to them.
Ariel's response on the associated forum linked by Dan was the correct answer.
Getting the engine home dir from the Process Admin console and then just put the file there did it.
Did not have to bounce the engine or WL even though I thought I had to when it did not work when done in conf/*. Did not have to do the -D.
For those interested, Oracle's detail response on the file itself is an interesting read. Ignore the conf/* reference.
"To customize it you have to edit the activityNotification.mail file located in
the conf directory in the ALBPM installation directory (i.e. ~studio/conf or ~enterprise/conf).
Copy this file to the Server Home directory. If it is not copied the customization does not take effect and the default mail is sent.
You can define a dynamic mail content editing this XML file. The ALBPM Server
generates the e-mail notificactions (when enabled) for each process activity using this file.
The text to be sent in the e-mail can be defined:
• by process-activity, or
• by process, or
• a default mail.
The search to find the text is by tag.
First, it looks for the process tag. If found, it searches for the activity tag.
If the activity tag is not found, it searches for the default tag within the
process tag.
If the process tag is not found then it searches for the default mail tag.
The XML is structured to conform to the following tags:
• process id: The id of the process that owns the activity for which you
define the custom email notifications.
• activity id: The id of the activity for which a custom mail needs to be
sent.
• title : In between this tag, provide the title for the email sent in the
specified activity.
• message : In between this tag, enter the message to be sent in the selected
business process activity.

Note: If for some reason the xml file does not exist, a non modifiable mail is sent and an exception is logged.
The activityNotification.mail file, needs to be overwriten in the runtime environment.
The customization of the activityNotification.mail is per installation, not per process or per application.
There is no know way to customize the activityNotification.mail per application
If you take a look at the content of this file, you will see entries of this format:

This allows creating specific email templates PER PROCESS. This to some extent allows the customization for Application (set of processes).
You can have multiple of "<process id=...> tags in the file."

Change the Appraisal Template in Mid of Year.

Hi All,
We want to edit the appraisal template which is being used in Production.
System is allowing to edit the template in development as there are no documents created. Once we transport the change to production what will be the implication.
Q1. Is it recommended to change the template after it is being used.
Q2. If really need to edit the template in mid of appraisal process how do we go forward.

We are on ECC 6.0 and SP 43.
We need to put some extra fields / Notes to the targets and extra sub statuses to correctly identify the condition.
But already appraisal process started and documents are created. Now we cannot either create the same documents in new template or postpone the appraisal template change to next year.
In this situation we decided to change the existing template. We want to know what will be the implications if we change the template in development and transport it to production???
Download and upload will create a new template which will not be useful for our case.

Creating multi-page document with multiple templates

Hi,
I am new to Pages and am attempting to create a photo book that I can export as a PDF and have printed through an online service. I have successfully created multiple templates in Pages that I want to use in my book, but cannot figure out how to create a new page based on an existing template. If I select "New" or "New from Template Chooser" I end up with a brand new document, not a new page in my existing document. If I select Insert --> Pages, I am only given the choice to insert a Text or a Blank page. How do I insert a new page based on a template? Or, how do I apply a template to a blank page?

Okay, I have figured out a way to accomplish my goal. I have my master Pages document that I am adding pages to by:
1. File --> "New from Template Chooser"
2. Selecting my template
3. A new document is opened
4. I add my photo and custom text
5. Copy the new page from the Pages area in the left nav
6. Paste the new page back into my master document
This works, although is a bit cumbersome. Would much prefer to be able to simply add a page in my master based on an existing template, but I still don't see how to do that...

XML publisher multiple templates in a single report

We are currently implementing PeopleSoft benefits where the user will have an option to select a benefit template from multiple selections and create a report form based from the combination of template he selected.
My question would be based from the multiple templates, is it possible if the templates be printed out into just one report using xml publisher?

Yes. This is possible by using sub templates.
You can declare sub templates in the beginning and then call the sub template.
You will need to register the sub templates in "Content Library" (Reporting Tools > XML Publisher> Content Library) to be able to call thses from another template.

Question on changing the report template to display the images

I am trying to change the report template so that each table cell will display an image and a checkbox for the image. The column templatet for the new report template is like this:

1. If the #COLUMN_VALUE# is null, the table cell will display a broken image icon and a checkbox. How could I avoid this? I could add condition to this template, such as when #COLUMN_VALUE# is not null, but how to refer to the value of #COLUMN_VALUE# in pl/sql?
2. I want to always put the checkbox at the center bottom, but no matter what I set "align='center' valign='bottom', it is always close to the image. Since the image sizes are different, the appearance of the checkbox are just up and down. How to fix this?

hello,
at designtime the elements from the template are physically
imported into the report. the only way of re-applying a template
is to use the wizard, which will re-default the layout.

Applying changes to multiple images . . .

i'm relatively new to macs but i've been using aperture comfortably for the past few months.
having just returned from a long photography trip and upgrading aperture to 1.5.1, i'm finding that i am unable to apply changes to multiple images like i used to, such as: selecting multiple images to rotate or selecting multiple images to apply the "stamp."
when i try to "shift-select" multiple images, the change i'm trying to apply affects only the last image clicked-on in the "shift-select" grouping. does that make sense?
has anyone else encountered this?

You most likely have the Primary Only option turned on. Turn off that option in the Control Bar.

Hello Sharath,
First check whether you have change authorizations for WAD, check you user name is added in the role for web templates and also check the authorizations.
then in the web template in the menu bar go to view option ,select web items and properties , so that you can find them in the left hand side, then replace the chart item with the table and assign the query to the table.

As i understand you need to change all Your aps by changing the templates ?
The fastest way is to change the actual sources of the templates if You've got permission to do that.
the table i witch the templates are is wwv_flow_templates
There will be need for clob utilities but it's possible

Multiple templates one document

How do I insert multiple templates in a single document?

What the printer has asked for is called "bleeds".
Bleeds run images off the edge of the paper so the excess is cut away when the printed job is guillotined to final size.
*1. Create an over-size page*
+Menu > File Page Setup… > Paper Size: > Manage Custom Sizes: > Create a page with 10mm or 0.375" extra on all sizes ie 20mm or 0.75" extra width and height+
For an A4 brochure this would be 317mm wide by 230mm high.
For US letter brochure this would be 11.75 x 9.25"
*2. Construct the brochure* with the final trimmed boundaries in 10mm or 0.375" from the outside of the page.
Use guides to mark the trimmed outline and line for image bleeds 3mm or 1/8" outside the trimmed page boundary..
Add crop marks (0.5 pt 100% cmyk lines) in the corners pointing in to just 1mm or 0.1" short of the trimmed corners.
*3. Layout images to run to the bleed guides.*

The prob is that we referring two different version of jquery files in master page and page layout.
We corrected by referring same version of jquery files in both pages

Changing a site template

Is there any way to change a sites template w/out rebuilding the entire site?
I'd love to use something different but can't seem to find a way to import my old content w/out redoing everything. Copying and pasting is ok on some of the pages but nearly impossible for blogging.

No it isn't, I've done it twice and it's a quick as any other page. I had no problems. Varkgirl is correct and I trust her judgement.

Changes to Workflow Template not creating a Transport

I have a workflow in DEV that I thought had been transported to TST, but it must have been inadvertantly overlooked. I am now trying to create a transport to move this template to TST. I make a minor change to the template and I am not prompte to create a new transport.
We have checked all of the outstanding transports and this template is not found in any of them.
Is there a way to force a transport on the workflow template so I can transport it to TST?

You can check what was the last version modified by SAP in the version history( In BASIC DATA) itself revert it to that level...
... but one thing i missed last time... hope you have not changed any version independent thing related to this workflow like bindings, task definitions etc... In that case those changes won't be reverted back... you will have to check the consistency of the workflow once you revert back...

Hi,
It all depends on what you want to change. If you provide more specific information I will be able to help you better.
Basicly:
In our project we used to modify css-file and web template files. It works fine as long as you test your modifications. If you want to change the layout (color, padding, width) there is not mucht to test. Just make sure the controls are properly displayed in the UI after the modification.
A bit trickier ist it to add more controls or new sections in the web template. Siebel uses control ids in the template which you see as placeholders in siebel tools. So you have to make sure that you wont use the same contol id s more than once otherwise you will have a problem that can lead to core dumps in the siebel client. (Only ListBody and ListHeader share the same control Id..) Every control id has to be unique. Not only in CCPopupListMvg but also in all included web templates files (e.g. CCListHeader.swt).
Be carefull with lists because control id's will be set in for loops. Also List Header and List Body need to have the same control id so siebel can mapp the caption of a list column to the list header.
(e.g. CCListBody <swe:for-each startValue="501" count="40" ....>, CCListHeader <swe:for-each startValue="501" count="40" ....>)
Whatever you do don't remove any control ids. If you do, controls that are mapped to the control id in siebel tools will not be shown in the client anymore. You will not get an exception. It just wont be displayed. So the thread is that the applets will not work properly anymore and you won't even know it untill a user misses a column or a button or whatever control was mapped to it. If you still do, you will have to check every applet in siebel tools.
Also you have to check if CCPopupListMvg.swt is included in any other web template because your changes would affect those web templates as well.
You have to concider that siebel does not know about your changes. So in future releases they will still use vanilla CCPopupListMvg.swt and maybe also modify it in vanilla. The template will be overwritten on siebel upgrades. So you will have to make your modifications after every siebel upgrade again.
