Changes to post purchase with GCU??

So, in the end I did get my price adjustment, but I had no idea this had changed, I typically order games on release day and don't worry about the common price drops. Thanks to the elite plus I could always price adjust after the usual big sales a month into release
But Wow, I just got off the phone with the .Com post purchase and had to pull teeth to get my Elder Scrolls Online price adjusted (elite plus so 45 days)
Woman on phone told me she can only give me back $8 because I only paid 47. I explained how that is because I'm GCU, she got agitated and told me they all got classes and memos that the GCU can only be counted once per item.
I then asked, well I'd be able to return the item, get my 47 plus tax back, then rebuy it for the 39.99 minus GCU, so why can't the price be adjusted that way now?
The woman the continued to argue with me that all I'm getting is $8, so I finally said fine do what you want to do, and I'll take up this sudden policy change with someone else, cuz that's stupid.
I was informed matching with GCU is double dipping, and after I said I'd take it up with someone else, she angrily said fine I'll issue you the $17 who cares if I get in trouble right?
I told her just do the 8, no need for her to get in trouble and I'd just speak with someone about why this is going on, since we pay for this discount, and she got short with me, said your getting 17 back drop it, confirmed my address and rushed me off the phone.
wow

Hello Nocturnx99,
Geez!  That's not how we want to be represented as a company and I'm truly sorry for this employee’s behavior.  Not sure why this individual was misinformed, but you're correct in stating that you'd be able to apply the Price Match Guarantee to the price and have your Gamers Club Unlocked benefits added to the purchase.
"If Best Buy's price is lowered during the return/exchange period, the price will be matched to the lower price (upon request). My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked Members should receive the new price along with the 20% discount. This price match covers one price match per identical item per customer."
Again, I apologize for all of this and please keep me in the loop on when you receive the adjusted amount.

I cannot purchase anything at the itunes store because I am being ask for my security questions, but I don't remember the answers. I tried going to appleied.apple.com but I won't allow me to change my security answerswithout answering the original questions. How do you change you security questions with out knowing them? I need help.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Start here, and reset your security questions, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help or you don't have a rescue address, you might try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support

Also, you need to have activated the computer for use with itunes. Why that's not done when you install is a mystery.
Because you don't need an iTunes account tio use or install iTunes.
You cannot authorize the computer until you have an account because that's what you are authorizing.
Note, you can only have 5 active computers, but you can deactivate all of them.
You can have 5 computers authorized at any one time. You can only select Deauthorize all when you do hae 5 authorized and you can only do it one time per year.
    Next, create/update your itunes account.
Again you cannot "activate" (which is authorize) unless you have an iTunes account. So you cannot authorize iTunes and then create an iTunes account.

  • HT5552 I want to make a purchase with my credit card but it keeps taking it out of my account on the gift card I put in there. How can i change that?

I want to make a purchase with my charge card. But each time I buy a song it takes it immediately off of the credit I have in my account from a gift card. How can I change it to charge me for a purchase instead of taking it out of the credit I have in there?

    You don't change it.
It will use any account balance first, once it is gone, then it will go to your credit card.

  • TS1702 I changed my ID, now i have problem to up date the apps I purchased with old ID. What soul i do?

I changed my ID, now i have problem to up date the apps I purchased with old ID. What shoul i do?

Depends on what you mean by "changed", if edited your account on appleid.apple.com to use a different email then just ignore that fact it shows the old email and use your current password.
If you created a new appleid then those old apps will always stay associated with the old id, in that case you can only update them with the old password or uninstall them and then redownload them and they will be linked to your current id
    cheers

    Apple ID security issues -
Account security issues almost always require you to speak directly to an Apple representative to securely establish your identity as the account holder. You can set it up so that Apple calls you, either immediately or at a time convenient to you.

  • HT1918 If I Change my apple ID and email, will I be able to access my old purchases with the new apple id?

If I Change my apple ID and email, will I be able to access my old purchases with the new apple id?

After opening the email it shoud of had you enter the Apple ID and password. Using certian web browser's can cause errors. You can adjust securty settings (big pain) or you use another browser. Using Firefox or Safari should do the trick.
Let me know if using Firefox or Safari resolved it.

  • Apple made me change my ID, now I cannot play music purchased with old ID's

So, first iTunes let me purchase with my aol.com ID. Then made me make up a new one. Now, had me go back to aol.com and I cannot play my music previously associated with that ID on my iTunes. It asks me to authorize the computer, which I did, and then asks me to do it again and again and again.
I have signed in/out. I have looked for the music on my history of purchases and cannot find the old music anywhere. I tried signing in with my old ID and that did not work. When I hit info on the songs I can see when and with what ID it was purchased so I know it is with the old ID. Grrrr. Any suggestions?

    Have you tried....
Using the old ID and password? Sign into the old ID and use that password to delete the account.
Using the new password and see if it will accept that one?

  • How can I change the age associated with my daughter's account?

OK I am sure that this is a common issue.  Back when my daughter was about 9 or 10 years old, we bought her an iPod Touch.   She was too young to have an AppleID of her own, so I set one up for her using an extra gmail accoun that I had, and entered my birthdate/age.  A few years later, she received an iPad, and most recently, an iPhone.   All of these devices are tied to the same AppleID.
Well, now she will be 13 years old soon, and I would like to switch things to represent reality.  She has her own email account, and I believe you can go to My Apple Id to change the Apple ID name and e-mail address.  My question is, can we change the age associated with the account?
I hear you saying, "Just create a new AppleID for her."  That may end up being the only solution, but I am trying to avoid having two AppleIDs for her to keep up with.  She has already purchased a fair amount of content (music and apps) under the existing AppleID, and I am pretty sure from looking at the posts on this Community that you can not transfer content away from the AppleID under which it was downloaded/purchased.  And so, if I create a new AppleID, she will have to re-purchase the content to get it all in one place.  As she eventually grows up and becomes independent, I would like for he to not have to "start over" with her AppleID.
Any advice or direction to information would be appreciated.

I have a similar situation however a bit more complicated! It seems that when I was setting the birthdate I forgot to change the year so now my seven years old daughter shows up as a two months old! There is no way to change the birthdate because it shows up in light grey when I login into my daughters account and doesn't allow a change! The birthdate can be changed only when the child turns 13 however according to this she will have to be 20 before she can change it to show property 13 and here is where this is getting completely out of hand! Now to make things more complicated I have twin daughters and they came up with their unique but similar Apple ID, so changing one will require to change both Apple IDs! After being on the phone with Apple's customer support for about one hour I talked to a supervisor and the supervisor of the supervisor and their only solution is to create a new Apple ID! Of course in my case I will have to create two new Apple IDs, and I'm considering doing it. However when I started reading it becomes more complicated because I already made their Apple IDs part of my family group. It seems like you're not able to just let go of family member that is less than 13 years of age. You can only transfer it to another family, so Apple is making sure there are no kids left behind It seems like the only option will be to "abandon" the family and then create a new family with the new Apple IDs. If all this sounds bizarre to you it sounds bizarre to me too! If I can just put the kids in the car and drive them to the nearest one hour away Apple Store and have them show their credentials confirming their birthdate I would rather do that than having to spend more and more time with this issue, but that was not an option pointed out by customer support. So folks keep in mind that if you make a mistake your children's age is set in stone until he or she turns 20 if they happen to be seven at the time you made the mistake and no one can change this, even Apple! Now on the positive side I'm glad I didn't do the mistake when she was 13 or she will have to wait until she's 26 Most likely I'll be calling customer support tomorrow again and I will let you know how it went!

  • How do I overcome my post-purchase dissonance?

I accidentally left my power adapter and cable at my cottage.  Because I use my iPad at work, I either had to return to the cottage to get the cable or buy a new one. (I came back Monday and we are now Wed and I was down too 5% battery).
Because my cottage is 120km away, I decided to buy another cable so that I wouldn't have to worry about remembering it going forward.
When I announced at work that I was off to the local Apple store for a cord a consultant laughed at me and told me to just buy it on-line.  He showed me how a cheap knock-off was only $4.99 which was considerably less than the Apple store price of $40.00 (almost 10x less expensive) and that it would be delivered to my house.  A young employee even threw me a black USB-30-pin connector and said I could just use it to plug into my PC (my workplace is a Microsoft based shop) until I went back to my cottage.
Anyway, I shunned these offers and told them that I was going to the Apple store because I wanted to ensure that I was buying a compatible cord that would not damage my precious iPad.
I brought my iPad with me so that I would have no problems getting the right cord.  Like usual, I was helped quickly, made my purchase and left the store for my long walk back to the office.
When I got back, I opened the hermetically sealed cable package to discover something called a "lighting to USB" cable.  To the delight of the consultant and my young staff, my extra effort and expense to buy a genuine Apple accessory did not work out.  I had to use an old fashioned piece of paper for my next meeting.
After my meeting, I phoned the Apple store and was told the only way to resolve my issue was to walk back to the store.  I finished my day and walked back.  I reexplained my issue and was given another white box and was told that I was lucky because the 30-pin cable I needed was the same price.  I went to open the box and the sales associate quickly stopped me and said I wasn't allowed!  I explained that I had already bought a power cord and it was the wrong one and didn't want to have to walk back a third time.  He explained that under no circumstances could I open the box because it could not be resealed after being opened.  As this was unfolding, the store security guard walked over and stood in front of us.  The employee reassured me that the 30 pin cord was the right one.  As proof, he pointed to the picture on the box.
I reluctantly accepted the new cord and left for home.   As it turns out, the second cord was the right one and I am typing this note on my iPad.  BUT I can't get over the feeling that I didn't make the right purchase.  I could have saved a lot of money and time by buying a non-Apple replacement.  Did I really do the right thing or am I just that old guy that doesn't know what he is doing?  How do I get over this post-purchase dissonance?

Unfortunately the user had a wet charger and I find it hard to believe an Apple charger would be safe in those conditions. The latest iOS7 prevents my third party cables from charging now when it worked fine under the former iOS6. It is all about profit and Apple is making a monster markup on all their accessories and wants to prevent others from making it. Most times Apple changes the configurations of their cables and dongles NOT for the sake of technical reasons but only to make sure the ones that upgrade each time are unable to use their existing accessories as is. Apple forces them into a new purchase for more profit. When I upgraded to the iPad mini and MacBook Air my existing accessories where rendered useless.

  • Backing up iPad apps purchased with two accounts?

For a recent sync, I "transferred purchases" from my iPad to iTunes and subsequently synced it to my iMac with my personal AppleID. Before syncing, my iPad had apps purchased with two separate AppleIDs on it.
Upon doing a restore for the iOS5 upgrade, the apps purchase on the other AppleID account don't show up on my iPad.
Where are the apps now and how can I get them, and their data, back?!? I know I can log into the other AppleID on my iPad and redownload the lost apps from the App Store. However, I need the DATA from the apps (note taking apps and such). How do I get that data back?
If this isn't an option, this is a major fault of Apple's account design.
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions~

    Hello J_DougBC,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  I found an article that addresses Apple IDs that are different than the Primary Email Address on the account.  You will need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ to "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same."
If your Apple ID and primary email address do not match, or they match but the email address is unverified, you can edit them.
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. If you want to add and verify an email address that matches your Apple ID, follow the dialog box that says "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same." This will automatically unverify that email address from any other Apple ID for which it was previously verified.
    3. If you want to change your email address to one that does not match your Apple ID, click Edit next to your Primary Email Address. If this email address is already associated with another Apple ID, you will need to sign in with that Apple ID and delete it before you can add it to your preferred Apple ID.
Note: If you have an @me.com or @mac.com Apple ID and primary email address, you cannot edit your primary email address once it has been verified. To change your @me.com or @mac.com primary email address to another email address, contact Apple Support for assistance.
You can find the full article here:
Associating and verifying email addresses with your Apple ID

I hope this helps get you back on track!
