Is there anyway to change the default email subject line, currently set as 'x Great iphotos' when using iphoto in conjunction with my email client to some thing else.

Yep it is that file. just replace
email_subject
in the following line with whatever you want as long as its in quotations eg.
make new outgoing message with properties {subject:"photos", visible:true}

After creating a document in acrobat and clicking the email icon on the tool bar, Acrobat automatically opens and attaches the document to a new email message in Outlook. It also adds the file name as the subject, then appends "- Adobe Acrobat Professional". How do I remove and/or customize the default subject line appended by Acrobat Pro 8.12?

Hi, I have the same problem as Alan L. Whenever I have a file open in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and click File-> Attach to Email it creates a new Outlook message and attaches the file but does not populate the subject line with the file name. The subject line is blank. I tried to email the same PDF file from Foxit Reader and it correctly populated the subject field with the file name.
If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Did anyone find how to use tag's or customise the Email subject line for outgoing system emails? (E.g invoice, quote, workflows etc)
I've tried some tags like order id but they don't work.
The reason we need to customise the subject line is because we use gmail and all the workflows have the same subject so they link together and you can't tell how many emails there are therefore often miss some. Plus all our workflow and system emails seem to be going to our spam so I thought if we could make it customised it would help.

I use gmail, I have thunderbird and this does not happen. The UI interface for google does but you can also stop it from doing that in the admin settings I believe.
Sme other good email clients for mac and oc, paid and free.
You can create folders for go gmail itself and email clients with sorting rules too.
Do not recall seeing guides for rendering tags in the email subject, net seen that and been using bc a long time.

This is something you can not add at the moment. You can change the layout a bit of workflow notifications from the system but you can not change the subjects at this time to render a system tag like that.

Getting the host name in the email subject line

I am running SCOM 2012. Is there a way to have the host name of the server in the Subject line of an email?

As alerts dont always have a servername included. ie Alerts usually have the name of the server or source included in Source or Path you might want to include both in the subject.
Here is what we use but you can add the lines found in the body to the subject:
Source: $Data[Default='Not Present']/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityDisplayName$
Path: $Data[Default='Not Present']/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityPath$

You will have to move away from the "submit form" event and run a javascript. I have attached the script below. Please note that it has a down side it will toggle your local email client by default. I am working on a script that will offer a selection between local and internet based email clients.

Edge Transport Attachment stripping based upon an emails Subject line.

I am running Exchange 2010 on-prem with a 2013 Hybrid (including a 2013 Edge Transport server for message handling between on-prem and the o365 tenant) connecting to an o365 tenant. I use EMC's SourceOne for archiving running on-prem. The o365
tenant points to a mailbox on my on-prem Journaling server.
What I am seeing is that when o365 forwards emails as attachments from the cloud back to the on-prem Journaling server it is examining the subject line of the message and making a decision to strip the attachment based upon the very end of the subject line.
Example: A simple text message with a subject line of: "Check out the new web site at www.xyz.com"
The Edge transport server is seeing this as being a ".com" attachment and stripping it off before it gets to the Journaling server. So it does not appear to be looking inside the message to see what it actually is and figure out that it is not
a ".com" file but a simple text message.
I have seen this with other file extension types as well. Such as ".exe" . It is also stripping off ".zip" attachments as well, but I understand that and not sure how to deal with it.
Has anyone else experienced this and how have you dealt with it? Microsoft wants me to take the Edge out of play and go directly to from the cloud to an on-prem Exchange server. But that is not an option as the on-prem servers are not exposed to the internet.

PDF form - email subject line = field

I am creating a PDF form on our intranet to be filled out and submitted via email with a submit button. All works well, but the recipients would like the subject line of the email to be info from the first field on the form so that it is easily searchable. I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 (also have Acrobat 8 Professional) but haven't found anywhere to edit this info. I have read thread referencing possible solutions by utilizing javascript, but I'm not sure where to begin where javascript is concerned (not my forte).
Right now the form is Submitted by Email via a "Button" set to Control Type: Submit. Under the Submit tab I have set the Submit to URL field to - mailto:"emailaddress".
Also, the recipients mentioned that they can't see the PDF in the body of their email, instead its only an attachment. We are all using Outlook and Outlook Webmail and would like to see the PDF in the body. Is there an easy way to accomplish this as well?
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Now I understand what you mean .....if you are using a true submit button then the validations will run automatically. If you are using a button for programming and that is calling the submit button then you will have to fire the validations yourself. The command to do this is:

app.alert("You have validation errors...");
where form1 is the root node of your form. If the validations run and there are no errors then it will return a true value and the submitbutton will be pressed. If there are errors then the message box will appear. and the submit will not occur.

How to automatically add file name to email subject line

I just upgraded from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
Previously, when I sent a form via email in outlook, the subject line of the email automatically filled the file name. With this new version, this no longer happens.
Is there a setting that allows me to automatically fill the subject line of the pdf with the file name (or some way for me to set the subject line automaticallly)? Most of my emailed pdf forms go to the same person with the same subject line.

Unfortunately Adobe lacks the ability to control and access the email attachment file names.
You can set a standard submit button url action to a mailto command string with a mailto:you[at]yourdomain.com&subject=Your+Custom+Subject+Here
But you won't be able to know what the file name is to insert it into the subject.
To have full control over the output, I suggest you submit the data or whole PDF to a server-side script, such as PHP or ASP.net.
A script can can inject a field values into the custom SMTP email body, subject, recipient lists and attachment file name by parsing the submission or passing values via a Querystring.
Visit pdfemail.net for online examples and more information on server-side scripting.

How do I change the PHP code so that the name of the senders name appears in the email subject line?

I need help please, altering the PHP code generated when exporting my Muse websites (to a host other than Business Catalyst). The emails generated from the forms need to have the sender's name in the subject line of the emails.

This would require editing the published php page outside of Muse and would require the knowledge of PHP. You may get the required info at http://www.php.net or some PHP specific forums.
